ROS - SRM Vs, Vendor management -E-Sourcing
Hi all
How vendors are screened in e-Souricng in Vendor management arena. I learnt that e-sourcing too accept and manage vendors .
Supplier screening is very important in procurement busisness.
Is it like Registration of suppliers (ROS) in SRM?
Are after created a vendor in e-sourcing , will u push to ECC or SRM. How vendor data are sync with Backend systems like ECC /SRM.
really vendor data relate with accouting data will be stored in ECC. what about in e-sourcing.
since customer expect this functionality. ARe in e-sourcing can used for only Vendor management for large scale customers. for eg tomorrow DUN And BRADSHEET wanted to use Vendor management functionality via e-Sourcing. is it possible.
Any help is apprecited. I am Mostly interested How vendors are selected / what are the main factors are considered to accept a vendor .

Replication of SAP E-Sourcing Supplier to SAP ERP Vendor
This scenario supports the replication of suppliers that have been created in SAP E-Sourcing
for a sourcing event. Suppliers can be replicated back to SAP ERP individually on an asneeded
basis with user intervention.
When transmitting supplier master data from SAP E-Sourcing to SAP ERP, only external
number assignment is supported. This means that SAP E-Sourcing determines the supplier
number that is assigned to the vendor when it is created in SAP ERP. This is possible via SAP
E-Sourcing configuration mechanisms.
Internal number assignment in SAP ERP is not supported in the current integration package.
This means that SAP E-Sourcing does not allow a supplier to be published to SAP ERP when
internal number assignment is used. An error message is displayed in this case.
Linking is possible only through a manual process (that is, you must create the vendor in SAP
ERP manually and then link it to the SAP E-Sourcing supplier manually).
Supplier changes cannot be replicated from SAP E-Sourcing back to SAP ERP. Only the initial
creation of the supplier is supported.

Guide me What I do?Did you add a System DSN or a User DSN? If you added a User DSN from your own login, the asp.net application will not be able to use it unless its application Pool in IIS is configured to run under the same credentials that you used for creating
the DSN. It's better if you add a System DSN.
Also, be careful to ensure that you are using a 64 bit DSN, unless you configure the application to run in 32 bits. If the 64 bit application attempts to use the 32 bit driver you get the same error message "Data source name not found and no default

How to select the vendor from the source list in the PO(me21n) screen.
Is there any Sources of Supply tab in the PO just like we have in the PR.
I don't want a PO raised from a PR which has got the Vendor assigned to it already.
Or the SAP doesnot provide the option of Source list/Assign source/Sources of Supply .....in the PO.
Kindly replyThere is not any facility available for Source Determination in PO. Only you can select the line item and click Menu Environment > Source List and view the list of sources available for the material but you can not chooss and assign. If you wan to assign the vendor then change the vendor already entered in PO and put the desired vendor.

Hey everyone, So I am trying to get a report onto the server, and in BIDS I kept getting a login screen repeating over and over when I tried to deploy my report, so I tried to upload the file at http://<servername>/Reports This worked, but then trying
to run this report from http://<servername>/Reports did not work either because "An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Cannot create a connection to data source 'FTYDataSource'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) For more information
about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors" Anyways I tried to add a New Data Source (which I would use in the report) at http://<servername>/Reports, type ODBC, with the connection string Dsn=blah_blahblah.
I try to test the connection here and get the error ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified This is really getting old fast, everything I try, a new error comes up. Granted I am new at this,

Please try setting the credentials of the datasource.
1. Double click and open the datasource in your project.
2. Click on the credentials tab, and click on option button 'Use this username and password'
3. Enter the username and password to connect to the datasource
4. Deploy or upload the datasource to the report server and try accessing the reports.

Hi I have SQL2012 installed on my local machine and have also installed MySQL 5.6.23 installed with a test database.
I also have my SQL connector installed and MYSQL ODBC Driver 3.51.
Which happily connects to the Mysqldb.
The Datasource Name : mySQL conn
TCP/IP Server : localhost and Port :3306
User root
with pwd
On the SQL side I have used the following

However when I try to selet using open query

In addition to other post, please also note the following things.
1. If you use the 32-bit driver on a 64-bit machine, please run the 32bit version of "odbcad32.exe" by running "c:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe"
from Start/Run menu and
create your ODBC DSN. However, for the 64-bit driver, use c:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe to create your ODBC DSN. For more details, please review this similar

2. Expand the folder Providers under Linked server directory in SSMS and go to properties of MSDASQL provider and configure it properly as described in this blog:

Vendor Management / Tracking the Product or Material
Hi Friends:
Is it possible to follow up on Vendor Management. the case study is as under :
In an organization, the customer has a problem with the product, & the organization offers Customer Service ( which may be mapped in CS Module), in-house repair & on site repair.
There is a case wherein the engineer from the service provider side ( organization) is not able to solve the problem & due to technical or lack of spare part or any other reason, the product / or its part is sent back to VENDOR either fo the Replacement or REPAIR of the product, and the customer does not know where is the product or its part is neither the service engineer s know, And when customer makes a call to enquire about his product, no one in the company has the answer asto where the product is either with the service provider or at the VENDOR site.
So, in order to track the product immediately... where can the same be tracked & which Module of ERP (R/3)? CS Module, MM Module or any other Module ?

As per your scenario, try these following steps:
1. Create the Service Notification
2. Create the Service Order based on notification
3. Based on analysis, either operation can be done internally (PM01 Control Key) or externally (PM02 Control Key)
4. PR would be generated for the External Operation
5. Components may be issued based on that order for the External Operation
So based on that document flow in notification, you can track the status of the service notification. Even you can define the tasks to be done for the service in the notification, so that, you can track that notification very well.

Do we have an option to edit a specific page form SUS application without the need to create a Z copy of the same. Say I want to provide a new field on SUS PO screen in standard SUS application.
Does system requires an access key for editing this object at Page level or BSP application level ?
I cannot check the same in my system as it asks for normal workbenc request to edit the object.

I'm running
Red Hat Linux 5, MySQL and BOXI 3.1
I try and schedule a report in the CMC and the report fails with the error
A database error occured. The database error text is: {Driver Manager} Data source name not found, and no default driver specified. (WIS 10901)
I've went through the steps in the Bus Obj's Documentation outlining how to install the unixODBC (though this doco was for R2 - I'm not certain whether this install is needed for 3.1).
Error WIS 10901 details
Database error: . Contact your administrator or database supplier+
for more information. (WIS 10901)
The database that provides the data to this document has generated an error.
Cause
Details about the error are provided in the section of the message indicated
+by the field code: .
Contact your BusinessObjects administrator with the error message
Action
information or consult the documentation provided by the supplier of the
database.
Any pointers suggestions on how to set up correctly the unixODBC will be looked into.

To add to above two answers,in SNC supply chain is as follows.
SUPPLIER -
> MANUFACTURE -
> CUSTOMER
SNC as an aplication will be installed at Manufatcurer site.
Now if Supplier is managing inventory for manufacturer than it is SMI.In this case supplier will login into SNC ( hosted at Manufatcuring site ) and manage inventory.
If Manufacturer is managing inventory for CUSTOMER than it is VMI.
Basically SMI and VMI are mirror image of each other.
