Rotate 3d pie chart

I'm hoping somebody might be able to tell me how to rotate a 3d pie chart in Keynote 09? I know I can rotate it via an "action", but I want to rotate it manually. For 2D charts, it's easy, you just hold the command button. But I don't know how to achieve this with a 3d chart.
Thanks!

Select the chart. Open the Chart Inspector. Turn the rotation wheel, or type a new rotation angle into the Rotation Angle window.

    I've been able to rotate all of the components of my pie chart 90 degrees except the legend. I can't find a place to turn the legend, does anybody know whether it's possible rotate the legend on a pie chart in Crystal 10?

    Unfortunately on the legend all you get is "Right" "Left" or "Below".

  • Overlay a graphic on a Pie Chart, & Rotate text in a Pie Chart

    Is it possible to overlay a graphic on a pie chart?
    I've tried manipulating the Wrap Inspector, but regardless, when I paste a graphic on topic it drops below the pie chart and deletes one segment of the pie.
    In a related pie chart question, is it possible to rotate the text to face into the central axis, think spokes in wheel (vs. the default horizontal). I can rotate the pie chart in about 3 dif. inspectors, but no luck here...and my texts is just a little too long to fit nicely in the default (and too hard to read if I reduce the font size).
    Thanks

    I assume you want to have a graphic that sits over the chart, and that you see the values underneath? Something like a shine, worn texture or logo?
    If you are wondering what happened to your particular 'missing slice' open the Graph inspector and select that section. Chances are you have changed the tiled image which was assigned to that particular piece of the pie chart.
    To overlay a graphic, draw a circle shape. In the graphics inspector assign an image fill to that shape. Choose tiled or scale to fit as required (a png. file with transparencies will show the underlying values, as will setting the opacity of the circle)
    Turn the wrap off for the circle (It sounds like your pie chart may be set to 'moves with text' instead of 'locked to page') And then place it overtop of the pie chart. Resize to fit. Since this is now 'locked to page' and above the pie chart, any movement of the pie chart means you will have to reorient your overlay. To avoid this, set the pie chart to Locked to Page as well.
    At this point you can set the wrap for the pie chart so the text moves around it if you like. Your overlay and the pie chart will remain in sync if they are both fixed to page.
    Regarding your text question, no. You can't set that. What you can do is use a numerical, letter or symbolic value and include a legend manually to indicate the true names of the portions using a text box.
    (I've seen someone with a pie chart whose segments were labeled with seven words, the last two of which were the only ones that changed. I suggested using the unchanging portion as the graph title and the changing portion as the individual slices. Not sure if that would apply to your project.)

  • On Pie chart rotation - the labels disappear

    I am using followig to rotate a pie chart:
    <mx:Rotate id="rotate" angleFrom="{angle-90}"
    angleTo="{angle}"
    target="{myChart}"/>
    private function rotateImage():void {
    rotate.end();
    angle += 90;
    rotate.play();
    <mx:PieChart id="myChart" dragEnabled="true"
    dragComplete="rotateImage()">
    So, when a user tries to drag the pie chart, the chart
    rotates. The
    chart rotates fine but the labels disappear? why would this
    happen and
    any solution to this.
    Also, I would like to use some other event for rotation
    instead of
    dragComplet. I would like to do it when user clicks left
    mouse
    button+moves the mouse (both on the outside of the chart)
    Any suggetions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • 3-D Pie Chart Rotation.

    Can anybody please let me know how to rotate a 3-D Pie Chart created using Espress Charts API ? I looked through the API and found a method called 'setRotationAngle'. But this method only the rotates though the individual pie slices, and does not rotate the Pie Chart as such ! Wud be really great if i can get some help on this.
    Thanks,
    -Santhi.

    Does that use Java3d, then? It doesn't say so?
    I would try asking Quadbase who sell the original api.

  • Labels on 3d Pie Chart overrunning

    Is it possible to rotate the labels on a 3d pie chart so they don't run into each other? I have a case where there are small values with a label that running into the next label over for an item?
    I believe this is corrected in the newer versions of any chart, but I am limited to the apex 3.2 version of anychart, since I am hosted on a 3rd party site..
    Thank you,

    I understand that the feature is not available in current version of APEX Flash Pie charts now.... Can only hope when APEX 4.0 comes out we get newer version of anychart..
    Question, can you eliminate the labels on a Pie chart and just have the pie chart and a legend with labels and values?

  • Pie - Chart Web Part - Label Alignment empty

    Hello all,
    I create lots of Dashboards to display KPIs for my company and I always struggle with the pie chart labels as the always end up overlapping unless I rotate them but that just looks naff.
    My frustration and question is that the "Label Alignment" option is empty and therefore does not allow me to select "Open" which is the feature I seek.
    Does anyone have an idea why this might be and if there is a work around?
    Thank you in advance
    Jessica

    You would potentially run into this with lookup fields as well, I believe. I would make a column that is single line of text for the purpose of the chart. That would make sure the NUM;# is removed.

  • Pie chart control action

    Hi
    I am using  SSRS 2008 R2.
    Is it possible to control the rotation of the fields in the 2-D pie chart clockwise/anticlockwise?
    Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Are you referring to the order in which the pie pieces are displayed or the degree on which the first piece appears?
    You can use sorting on the pie, this is located in the category group properties.
    To change the position of the first piece you can use the
    PieStartAngle property.

  • How could I improve the way a pie chart shows (CR 10)?

    The pie chart has five slices - a very large one and four very small slices. I have to show labels for it, and the problem is that no matter how I try to rotate or enlarge the chart the four labels for the small slices are very close to each other.
    I am using Crystal Reports 10 and it has to be a pie chart and I have to show up its labels. Do I have any solution to "beautify" this?

    It sounds like you're having a similar problem to one I've had. When this happens, I double-click the entire pie chart. This should bring it up by itself in a new window. In this window you can individually move around the labels (and percentages if you have them). Also, you can do as the previous person mention and while in this view, right click and select "Chart Options." Sometimes rotating or even expanding the chart can add more space in between the pie slices.

  • Creating a donught shaped pie chart with javascript elements

    Good morning chaps,
    We recently built our new company website which we're happy enough with. However one element we tried to capture was an interactive donught shaped pie chart, using javascript to click on each seperate section.
    The end result can be viewed at;
    http://insight247.co.uk/index.php?page=aboutus
    You'll notice imemdiately that the part that's a little off is the text which sits in each section. IS there an easier way to combine the graphic, text and javascript to achieve the effect we're looking for?
    Many thanks to all responses.

    Stephen,
    There are a few strange parts: the irregular text, the irregular shapes of the underlying ring parts (which do not have consistent widths at the gaps), and the outer glow (or whatever) which correponds to a full ring on the inside but partially to separate objects on the outside.
    IS there an easier way
    Maybe not easier, but more accurate; the specific appearance is somewhat demanding.
    To get the right shape of both ring parts and letters and different choices concerning the outer glow, you may (Smart Guides are your friends):
    1) Create a fill/nostroke rectangle with the same height as the ring parts and an arbitrary length, then Object>Transform>Move a copy by the length, then Ctrl/Cmd+D to repeat 4 times;
    2) Select all six rectangles and in the Brushes palette flyout tick New Brush, select Art Brush with default settings;
    3) Create a 1pt stroke/nofill circle corresponding to the middle of the ring parts where the text bits are supposed to be, apply the Art brush to it, Object>Expand Appearance, and move the circle to the top in the Layers palette, above the Group;
    4) Direct Select each of the 6 ring parts and apply the desired colour (you may rotate later, see below);
    5) Select the stroked circle and with the Scissors Tool click where the ring parts meet (Smart Guides say intersect except at the sides where they say anchor) so you have 6 circle parts to match the ring parts, then select the 4 circle parts that are not at top and bottom and Object>Path>Add Anchor Points so you have a centre point for each of them (you had one already at top and bottom);
    6) Select one of the circle parts and with the Path Type Tool click on the centre point, then type the text bit and in the Character palette adjust the Baseline Shift once and for all (you may need to tick Show Options in the flyout);
    7) Repeat 6) for the other circle parts (except the Baseline Shift);
    8) Select the ring parts group and Effect>Stylize>Outer Glow, adjust the colour (black) and settings to make it look as desired;
    9) With the Direct Selection Tool click where two ring parts meet (avoid the Path Type) to select an end segment and Ctrl/Cmd+C+F+X+F to create a straight stroke/nofill path at the very top of the stacking order, then change the Stroke Weight to the desired width of the gap between ring parts and change the Colour to white;
    10) Repeat 9) on the opposite side of the circle, select both 9) and 10) and rotate copies twice by 60 degrees, group all;
    11) Rotate everything by 30 degrees to amtch the angles of the image.
    Now you have the final appearance with white gaps. If you want to have gaps in the same colour as the background, you may:
    12) Select everything and in the Appearance palette flyout tick Make Opacity Mask, with Clip unticked and Invert Mask ticked.
    If you want to hide the outer glow at the gaps at the outside (as in the image) or at the inside or both, you may extend the lines in 9) and 10) at either or both ends.

  • Reporting Services in 2005 Secondary Pie Chart?

       Hi,
             In 2008 and 20012, secondary pie charts with a percentage threshold from a main pie chart can be easily created. Is it possible to do in 2005?
    *CustomAttributes
    Thanks.

    Hi Robb,
    It seems that you are using Dundas Chart Control for SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services not the Dundas Chart Control 2005 that Microsoft has purchased.
    Microsoft purchased the license to use Dundas Chart Control 2005 in Reporting Services 2008 and above. Therefore the supported upgrade is from Reporting Services 2005 Dundas Charts to SSRS 2008 (R2) and SSRS 2012 Charts.
    If you are using a particular component released by Dundas for SSRS 2008 R2, you won’t be able to upgrade Reporting Services 2008 R2 Reports with Dundas Charts to Reporting Services 2012 Charts.
    To confirm this, please check the details of this assembly “DundasRSChart.dll” located under the /Report Server/bin directory.
    If the Product Name is “Dundas Chart for Reporting Services 2008 R2”, it indicates that this is a new version of Dundas Chart for SSRS 2008 R2 (i.e. a third party control). If the Product Name is “Microsoft SQL Server”, it indicates that this is the version
    that Microsoft has purchased.
    In this condition, you have to migrate the DundasRSChart.dll to the SSRS 2012 instance and reference it as the custom assembly in the reports. Please make sure to rename the DLL file so that it won’t replace the native DundasRSChart.dll installed by SQL
    Server 2012.
    For more information about referencing custom assembly in a report, please see:

  • Need help to make a Pie Chart

    I am trying to draw a pie chart for the Uptime Report.
    I have the Following table definition.
    create table downtime_detail ( env_code number, down_start date, down_end date );
    insert into downtime_detail values (1,to_date('26-JAN-2008 02:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),to_date('26-JAN-2008 03:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') );
    insert into downtime_detail values (2,to_date('26-JAN-2008 02:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),to_date('26-JAN-2008 03:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') );
    insert into downtime_detail values (2,to_date('01-FEB-2008 02:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),to_date('03-FEB-2008 03:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') );
    insert into downtime_detail values (2,to_date('15-FEB-2008 02:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),to_date('15-FEB-2008 03:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') );
    insert into downtime_detail values (2,to_date('26-FEB-2008 02:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),to_date('28-FEB-2008 03:00:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') );
    Now the Below Query returns me the values val1 and val2 on the basis of which I need to draw a Pie Chart.
    ==========================================================
    select round((DOWN/TOTAL)*100,2) val1 , round(100-((DOWN/TOTAL)*100),2) val2
    from
         (select sum((DOWN_END - DOWN_START)*24) DOWN from DOWNTIME_DETAIL where ENV_CODE=2 ) a ,
         (select ((sysdate - to_date('01-JAN-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')) * 24) TOTAL from dual ) b
    VAL1 VAL2
    3.64 96.36
    ==========================================================
    Can someone help me try do this ?
    Actually I tried but I couldnt put my custom query to get this Pie chart. Or if there is any other better approach please let me know.

    nikhilskamik,
    I believe all that you are missing in your sql is a NULL. Below is the help text for creating a Flash pie chart.
    Specify the SQL query that will populate your chart, for example:
    select null, ename, sal
    from emp
    Alternatively you can write a PL/SQL function return a SQL query, for example:
    begin
    return 'select null, ename, sal from emp';
    end;
    Your query should then read:
    select null,round((DOWN/TOTAL)*100,2) val1 , round(100-((DOWN/TOTAL)*100),2) val2
    from
    (select sum((DOWN_END - DOWN_START)*24) DOWN from DOWNTIME_DETAIL where ENV_CODE=2 ) a ,
    (select ((sysdate - to_date('01-JAN-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')) * 24) TOTAL from dual ) b

  • No data in Active sessions pie-chart and availability is 0%

    Hi All,
    Does anyone know why my Enterprise Manager cosole in Oracle 10g installed on windows xp professional is not showing any data? Availabilty is always 0% for the instance ORCL and the active sessions pie-chart is always showing 0.01 since May 17,2005.
    Can anyone tell me how to configure EM so that instance ORCL and the active sessions start showing data again?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Kindly activate the data request. Post that, Under "request available for reporting" a symbol will appear which means that the data has been moved to Active table and is available for reporting at further levels.
    And you can then check for contents in the active table of the DSo, you should get the records.
    Change log: Contains the change history for the delta update from the DataStore object into other data targets, such as DataStore objects or InfoCubes. It makes sense in case of delta uploads.
