Rotate by degree..

I have a nice picture (http://www.projectmio.com/imagery/misc/photoframe.jpg) here which I would like to use for my website, it frames pictures nicely. I would like to use it for video and originally had the idea of using webpage code to embed a YouTube video at an angle of something like 30deg, but I don't think that is possible.
The advice I was given was to rotate it first and then upload it, also being advices that an old version of QT would do this to a degree, but that the new ones only manage to at 90deg rotations.
Can anybody help?

Drop shadows and borders are not available, which is a real shame.
the simplest app can handlde it. To bad sophosticated Aperture doesn't...
But of course there are plenty of other problems with the book tool (can't specify page size, can't export jpg, tif, psd...)
Export: select an image, then Export from the File Menu, choose 'export version' and from the 'export preset' pull down menu select the file format you want (JPG, TIFF, PSD, PNG etc).
Also, from the Aperture menu you can select 'presets' / 'image export' and define your default export preferences.
define page size
Aperture offers only 2 sizes as you know. Best use Photoshop...

  • Copy and paste of links in landscape rotates 90 degrees

When doing copy/paste of multiple links on landscape forms in Acrobat 10, the links pasted rotated 90 degrees. How can this be fixed? I saw a post with the same problem for Acrobat 9 Pro, and they were able to use ctrlC/ctrlV, but that does not work for us. We have maps with MANY links and the maps get updated frequently, so we have to move the links over. It is way too time consuming to have to recreate all the links every time the map changes. It works fine in portrait version, why is there a problem with landscape? Please help!!! Lisa

It was printed to .pdf from Autocad which always prints portrait, we then rotated the map to landscape.

I have the same problem with lectures slides.
Furthermore, sometimes the text box, when doube-clicking, turns  the text into a one-liner. Causing the text box to sometimes get 3. times wider than the pdf itself.

By pressing [cmd + I] the Inspector opens up and clicking on the rightmost tab 'Annotations' you should be able find those Annotations again. I do this regularly to find the empty annotations I accidentally create while clicking through slides.

  • Why do circles rotated 45 degrees in PowerPoint slides not appearing in PDF -- a bug?

I am using Acrobat XI Professional and PowerPoint 2013 in Windows 8.
I have two PowerPoint slides. One slide is a filled-in circle. The other slide has another filled-in cirlce that is rotated 45 degrees. When I convert the PowerPoint presentation with the two slides to PDF using Acrobat > Create PDF, the circle that is rotated 45 degrees does not appear in the PDF document. This is true for all circles rotated by a factor of 45 degrees with the excpetion of circles that are factors of 90 degrees. LoriAUC pointed out to me that Save As > PDF works -- and it does.

It very well may be because when you do a Save As > PDF it works. I would submit this behavior to the Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

  • Images Rotated 90 Degrees on prints

i am having this issue with the Apple version of Adobe Illustrator CS3. We just got a new printer (Sharp MX-3501N) and it has a Fiery 2 print server on it. When i print illustrator documents to it, the first page comes out great. Comes out landscape on 11x17 paper. But if i tell it i want any more then just one print (2 or more copies) the first page comes out fine, each additional page comes out with the image rotated 90 degrees and is printed right off the page and leaves a blank space on the bottom of the page. Adobe is updated, MacOS (10.5) is updated, i have tried printing from other programs and everything else prints fine, and i have updated the drivers.
I am an authorized sharp service center and i talked to Sharp technician support about it and they said that because Adobe handles the print job from start to finish, there is likely a setting in illustrator that is messed up. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm not sure if I understand your problem. If it uses a proper PS RIP, the rasterized version will be stored in it and it should initiate printing multiple copies, not the computer that sends over the PS/ PDF data. Are you sure you're not missing out on some silly check mark somewhere in teh printer driver? what you describe strikes me more as an "only print first page differently/ print cover sheet" option as you would use them in an office program. Is Illustrator actually set to handle the print job (which would be kinda pointless on a hardware RIP)? If so, you should get this odd behavior with other printer drivers as well (PDF document printer etc.) and then indeed it would be the program's fault...

  • Imac [plus 2nd display - can you work with one display rotated 90 degrees?

I'm thinking of getting a Dell Ultrasharp 24" monitor to use as a 2nd screen from my iMac 20". The Dell screen seems to rotate 90 degrees so you can view it landscape or portrait. If you're working with 2 displays functioning as one giant desktop, can you rotate the 2nd display 90 degrees, and still use the 2 monitors as a giant desktop?
Any advice much appreciated - thank you!

Leopard has a built-in feature for rotating the display. It's in System Preferences Displays pane. You can select to rotate the image 90, 180, or 270 degrees. It even works for my massive 21-inch CRT that I use with my iMac as the extended desktop, although it would be very difficult to physically use that monitor in portrait orientation.
So what you are describing should work.

  • Desktop has rotated 90 degrees

my entire desktop has rotated 90 degrees (1/4 turn). I tried to restart my computer, when it powers up the first screen information is correctly on screen but when it goes to the sign on screen and from that point on, the screen is always rotates 90 degrees. i have a HP G60-630 US with Windows 7. Any ideas?

Here is shortcut for setting it back to normal : Ctrl + Alt +  Up arrow

  • Rotate -90 degrees to play in a vertical monitor...

    Hi all!
Is it possible to Rotate -90 degrees image to play in a vertical monitor...
I have all the sequence edited with Motion / FCP / PSPs... now the client needs a dvd to play in a vertical monitor.
Is it possible to rotate in DVDsp (at the burn time)?
A couple of guys told me that Nero could do it... ok... Nero = Windows... so... nahhh...
    Do you have a tip?
(ok i could rotate in FCP, but what about the background...)
    Help!
    Thank you!
    HBars

Even if Nero could do this, you really would not want to. Your dimensions are going to be all wrong. You would have to scale up your video (making everything soft and fuzzy) and then hope that nothing happens on the left or right of the video (which are now cropped off).
If you want a vertical video (that doesn't look like crap) you will have to shoot it that way from the start. At my company, the cameraman went home to weld together an L shaped bracket so that he could attach the camera at a 90º angle on the tripod. The alternative is to shoot handheld with the camera tipped on its side.
You then have to edit everything on its side. Take your broadcast monitor and put it on its side. For your computer monitor you will have to just turn your head to the side.

  • When I drag an image into IBA, it rotates 90 degrees.

I'm having trouble dragging a particular image into iBooks Author.  I took a picture and imported from my camera to iPhoto.  The image had to be rotated 90 degrees, which I did in iPhoto.  I'm using the "Contemporary" template in iBooks Author and I'm trying to drag my image from iPhoto to replace the red, space themed image at the top of a section page.  When I do so, the image reverts to its original instead of the rotated form.  I can't figure out how to rotate the image without rotating the mask.

    Hello Abram1,
Not sure of the reasons but I would imaging it might have to do with iPhoto and its non destruction approach to editing.
Have you tried exporting the image out as a new image that would then have the new rotation that you wish applied to it.
    I hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Nigel

  • Pasted form field rotates 90 degrees

Copy & paste form field from old version always does the following to the new form field.
    Rotates 90 degrees
    Changes Horizontal & vertical size.
The only way I have found to fix this to date is to re-create in the new form.
Does someone have an easier method?
    Thank you,

Even though a page appears on screen in portrait orientation, it could in fact be a rotated (+/- 90 degrees) landscape page, with all of the page contents rotated as well. You can tell by examining the internal page rotation setting, but this isn't really necessary as it is undoubtedly the reason. You might wonder how or why this could have happened, and it goes back to what was used to create the PDF in the first place. It's unlikely that they two PDFs were created from the same type of source document with the same application and method of converting to PDF. This internal page rotation normally doesn't matter, but it does when working with annotations, which ahve rotation values relative to the page on which they're placed. So when you copy a field from a page with one rotation onto another with a different rotation, you'll see this behavior.

  • Portrait pics rotate 90 degrees when emailed/texted.

When sharing pictures from my G3, pictures that i take as a portrait are shown rotated 90 degrees or in landscape mode.  They show correctly on my G3 even when i rotate the phone.  However, pictures I take with the phone on it's side(landscape) display correctly when I open them up on a pc/text.  I can't see a setting to change on the phone to correct this.  I've had 3 G2's in the last four weeks and none of them had this issue and couldn't find answer with Google search.  TIA!

Luckily, after uploading a photo on Facebook, Facebook gives you the option of rotating the photo. Just click the 90º arrow next to the photo.
My problem WAS uploading the photos to another online photo album (gardenguides.com-- a gardening blog). Even tho' I'd fix the orientation in Preview and save them with the correct orientation, when I uploaded them to gardenguides.com, they came out upside-down or sideways. I worked around it by first saving them in the correct orientation in Preview, then uploading them to Photobucket (a free online photo storage site). For some reason, Photobucket DOES keep them oriented exactly the way I have them saved.
THEN, once they are uploaded to Photobucket, I looked at one at a time, control+click and scrolled to the option of "Save this image." (In other words, I downloaded the photos I had just uploaded to Photobucket.) Then I took THOSE saved images and uploaded THEM to my gardenguides.com blog, where they came out right-side-up. It was a hassle, but it worked. Thankfully it was only 5 photos that I took incorrectly-- someone on here said to be sure from now on to hold your iPhone with the Home button on the right when taking pictures.

  • All catalog images sideways (rotated 90 degrees)

Using Lightroom 4.4. When I open the catalog, the default catalog or the previous import shows ALL images rotated 90 degrees. This seems to be true for 90% of my images. Some folders still show the correct orientation, but most are sideways. All the most recent updates have been applied. Thank you.

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.
The following video tutorial on arranging clips and keyboard modifiers is being posted for informational non promotional reasons.
Premiere Elements: Arranging clips on the Timeline using modifier keys | lynda.com - YouTube
It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.
Here is one variation of the issue on Windows.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Delete and Close Gap Failures
You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.
