Rotate in Slideshow

I'd like to be able to use an auto-advance slideshow for reviewing my
photos. I've got one set up, and from it I can add star ratings to the
images as I see them. However, the rotate keys don't work. Instead, they
rotate the currently selected picture (as opposed to the one currently
displayed in the slideshow). So I'd like to see one of the following:
1. As the slideshow advances, auto-select the currently displayed image OR
2. In slideshow, have the rotation keys rotate the displayed image, not the
selected one.

This has happened to me also - ONLY after upgrading to iLife '06. My camara is a Sony and doesn't have the option for auto-rotation enabled (doubt it even has such an option). I import into iPhoto '06 and manually rotate my profile images to their correct orientation. Playing the slideshow reveals them in landscape once more. If I use the rotation controls within the slideshow, this can be corrected - BUT if I close the slideshow and go back to iPhoto '06, the once correctly-oriented (before the slideshow) images now appear in landscape - in the OPPOSITE direction of their originally-imported landscape direction. So it looks like iPhoto '06 image orientation is not being relayed correctly to the slideshow.
Additionally, my settings for slideshow to NOT have music playing is not saved no matter how many times I revisit that option and click save after unchecking the "play music" box.
Looking forward to iLife '06.01!

  • Photos rotate in Slideshow

I imported a batch of photos from my Canon camera into iPhoto. Some are vertical, others are horizontal. When I view them in the library or an album they are oriented correctly. I created a slideshow from them and when I view the photos in the photobrowser at the top of the slideshow edit page they are also oriented correctly.
    However...
when I play the slideshow, the vertical photos are rotated to a horizontal position. What's going on? And is there an easy way to fix it? I have a LOT of vertical photos. I noticed I can go through each one and rotate it so it shows up horizontal in the photo browser, but then displays correctly during the slideshow. That seems crazy. If they look vertical in the photobrowser, then they ought to look the same way when the slideshow is played.

  • Help w/ image rotation in slideshow

    Hi All,
I've created a bit of a problem for myself. A client provided a folder full of images to add to a slideshow in DVDSP. I added all of the images as normal, then I noticed that a bunch of them were taken in portrait mode and needed to be rotated. I didn't see any way within DVDSP to rotate them, so I opened up the folder in Adobe Bridge and quickly rotated them. I went back and opened the project in DVDSP and the images did not rotate. I trashed the MPEG and PAR folders and reopened the project and the images still did not rotate. So I figured that DVDSP doesn't recognize whatever tag Bridge adds to the file to indicate that the image should be viewed rotated. Next, I thought that I would just have to open each one in Photoshop and rotate them and then re-save. The only problem is that when opening them in PS, the images are already rotated. So now I don't know what to do. I can't rotate them again in PS and DVDSP doesn't acknowledge that the images are rotated.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Actually, Bridge does more than just rotating the thumbnails. It apparently embeds some code in the metadata that instructs programs to open the image with rotation applied. When opening the image in PS, Preview, GraphicConverter, and a few other programs the image opens with the rotation from Bridge applied.
In any event, I have an old PS action I created years ago that prepares images for slideshows. It fits them into a 720x480 frame and then applies any needed background extension and finally converts the image to a .9 pixel ratio image. I did that to all of the modified images from Bridge and it worked fine.
If Apple ever bothers to update DVDSP again they should really address the inability of the program to handle this type of situation.

  • Slideshow Web Part item limit

I've got a picture library with over 700 images (and growing) but the web part, set to display sequentially, is only showing 300 images before looping. When it's set to random it shows more!?! I need it to display sequentially as people are going to be
going through the images and filling in an excel spreadsheet when they recognise someone in the image. If it's set to random it's going to give them a stinking headache! Is there any way of disabling the limit on sequential order?? If not, what are my options?
So far, the slideshow is the only way I've found to display the images quickly (without having to click on each pic in the library, which will be a very slow process), and not being able to change this very restrictive limit is incredibly frustrating (and
    shortsighted on Microsoft's part)!
The only other option I could think of was multiple picture libraries linking to multiple web parts. Is this really all I can do??

People have asked similar questions on LinkedIn and SharePoint Stack Exchange, and it seems there is a 300 limit when displaying sequentially, 1500 when displaying randomly. You could look at using some custom web parts. Amrein Engineering have a few: Image
Rotator, Banner Rotator and Slideshow. None of them are expensive and you could ask them first if there are any limits.

  • How do I place a Fireworks slideshow onto my webpage?

I want to place a fireworks slideshow into a table on my webpage but I have no idea how to do so. I don't want any thumbnails or any album titles to show up, just a rotation of the pictures I created within fireworks.
One thing to note is that my site is also not online at this point and I'm currently developing in an offline working folder. I'm not sure if that will affect the ability to play flash.
If there is no way to effectively upload a fireworks slideshow onto DW is there another way to add a rotating pictures slideshow without having to spend money on an application or additional program?
Thanks in advance for the responses.

Take a look at quite a few slideshow options here:
    http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/resources/57-free-image-gallery-slideshow-and-ligh tbox-solutions/
All use jquery - which is quite easy to implement and you can create everything locally (on your own machine) and then upload everything to your server when done

  • Rotating Image on adobe muse

I am having some trouble using Adobe Muse. I am creating a website for an app, and the background on the website has an image of someone holding an Iphone slightly angled. What i want to do is place a slideshow on top of the Iphone screen. However, since the Iphone is slightly angled, I am having trouble rotating the slideshow image to fit on the iphone screen in the background. Is this even possible to do on adobe muse--- rotating the slideshow image?

With native platform , we cannot rotate slideshow or composition. You can surely use a rectangle with image fill as rotated frame else for a slideshow you can check third party sliders.

  • How do I print a specific sized picture.

I'm trying to print a picture to fit in a frame size of 6 5/8 X 4 5/8. (6.625 X 4.625). The size of the picture in pixels is 416 X 288. The width is more important than the height. I've used the "constrain" feature in iPhoto, to constrain the size to 6.625 X 4.6, but the problem is that when I actually go to print it out, it just insists on using the entire 8.5 x 11 page. I can't seem to convince it to just print out the size I want. Is there any way to constrain the actually size of the printed image? Is there some program other than iPhoto that will do the trick? This is driving me nuts. It seems like such a simple thing? After software has been evolving for 50 years, it's still can't do something this elementary?
There's a slider that allows one to adjust the "size of the image" but it has nothing to do with the print size. It's just oriented to the visual size on the digital display. How silly is that?

First of all, I don't see a "print button" anywhere. The bottons I see are "Rotate," "Edit," "Slideshow," "Card," "Calendar," "Book," "Email," and a small search box. Of course there's a "print" option in the "file" menu. If I open that dialogue box there's a small window that says "Size" to the left of it, but there's no "custom" option. Just 2x3, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10. That's for "Letter" paper with a "Standard Prints" style. Other options besides "Standard Prints" are: "Contact Sheet," "Full Page," "Greeting Card," "N-up," and "Sampler." None of those options allows a "custom size."
At the top, under the Printer is a box that says "Presets," so I changed that to "Photo," but it didn't change any of the size options.
Well, 5x7 is close enough. I can't probably put a small border around the picture instead of cropping it at the very edge, and when it prints 5x7 the image width will be 6.625 inches.
But it sure is a roundabout way of doing something that ought to be simple and straightforward.
As for the slider bar, what's silly is the overwhelming assumption that the image wanted will be digital. We've left any conventional expectations about photographs so far behind that "image size" is just assumed to not translate to the printed image.
Strictly speaking one probably can't define an image size using the old film technologies either. One would probably have to order 5x7 and just make do. So there's not an actual loss of capability, just sort of a failure to optimize.
It would, of course, probably be very confusing for people to actually have to define the printed image size. I don't know. I'm just guessing.
BTW, I'm using an HP Photosmart C4385, so the driver may not allow customized adjustment. That is, it may be a printer thing. I've had a lot of problems with the HP Printer driver in the past, too. Took me about 6 tries to get it installed so that it doesn't crash the system.

  • IPhoto rotates images in slideshow even though the thumbnail for that images has the correct orientation.

This problem seems bizarre to me considering iPhoto 11 has worked with out a hitch since I upgraded from 09 ages ago.  The photos in my album suddenly changed orientation from landscape to portrait and vice versa and sometimes upside down.  I first notice this problem after I tried to click and drag a large number of photos directly from iPhoto to Finder.  I did a Command-A to highlight all the photos from my album and tried to drag them to a folder in Finder.  There are 34,000 photo in this album but only half were copied, (I guess 34,000 items is too much for Lion to copy all at once).  I tried fixing this orientation problem by highlighting all affected photos and selecting "Revert to Original" which fixed the orientation of the thumbnails.  But when you double click on a thumbnail to view the pictures or view the album in a slideshow, some of the pictures still have the incorrect orientation but most were corrected.  Also if I double click on an affected photos to edit it with iPhoto image editor the image suddenly orientates itself correctly.  Then as soon as I close the image editor and view the photo or start a slide show it's displayed with the incorrect orientation again.   How is that possible that all my thumbnails are orientated properly but when I view the photo it's rotated sideways or sometimes rotated upside down?    Any help or insight to my problem would be much appreciated.

Revereting to original will not fix the problem.  When you invoke that menu option iPhoto will read the file again, see the tag that tells it to rotate the file and will rerotate it.
The most reliable way to fix this is to rotate those file before they are imported into iPhoto. Upload from the camera to a folder on the Desktop, rotate those that need rotating, rename if desired and import.  I use Xee for that because it can rotate the file losslessly.

  • How to auto rotate Images on Full Screen Slideshow if pictures were taken mixed Portrait and Landsca

In Muse: How to auto rotate Images on Full Screen Slideshow if pictures were taken mixed Portrait and Landscape

There is no way that Muse would automatically rotate the images. What you can instruct Muse to do is whether you want to show all image content and leave blank space in either direction OR scale the image to fill the frame resulting in some cropping, but filling the otherwise blank space.
The options are Fit Content Proportionally and Fill Frame Proportionally respectively.

  • Rotated photos not showing up in slideshow

    Hello all -
I'm making a photo slideshow with iDVD and photos imported from iPhoto. The photos taking from the camera with the camera rotated 90 degrees are showing up fine as thumbnails in the iDVD menus, but not displaying at all in the slideshow when I run it. It shows the comments and title text but the photo is blacked out. Again, it is only the photos rotated not the standard ones. Any idea?
    I'm running 10.4.7 with iLife 06.
    - Greg

Doesn't show up in the interface at all.  I only realized they were missing when I checked my iPhone pictures against iPhoto and realized that there were pictures missing.  I even ran the iPhoto database rebuild and some of the other diagnostics that suggested they might find these type of situations.  It actually found a few but I still have the 300 or so I reference above. Any idea what might be going on?

  • Can images placed in a slideshow be zero spaced to appear as a rotating strip of images?

I'd like to make a slideshow of images without spacing between the images to make a continuously rotating slideshow strip of images. Is that possible with Muse?

    Hi Kenneth,
Use a basic slideshow with vertical transition. By default it has 0 spacing between the images.

  • Why are some (but not all) of my Muse slideshow widget images rotated differently than when I edited them in Photoshop CC?

I have a few dozen photographs embedded in the slideshow widget. Most of them appear exactly as I edited them in Photoshop, but several appear rotated clockwise 90 or 180 degrees. Does anyone know why this is happening, and ideally, how I can correct this problem? Thank you.

Please share the site url , also refer to this post and check if this helps :
Why are some of my images importing upside down?
Secondly , if you change the fill type then does that makes difference ?

  • Slideshow photos are rotated 90 degrees in idvd...

Although my photos appear in the proper landscape or portrait view in iphoto, when I drag the photos into the idvd slideshow screen some of the photos are turned 90 degrees so that some the portraits become landscapes. There does not seem to be any way to rotate the photos once they are in the slideshow, only to change their position. Anyone know any tricks??

when I drag the photos into the idvd slideshow screen some of the photos are turned 90 degrees so that some the portraits become landscapes.
This is a problem, it does not happen when I drag or import a portrait photo from iPhoto.
I'd start with rebuilding my iPhoto library per Apple's directions:
It's a good idea to make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder (located in your Pictures folder) before rebuilding it.
    To rebuild the library:
If iPhoto is open, quit it.
Hold down the Command and Options keys, and open iPhoto
iPhoto opens and rebuilds your library.

  • Images rotated when added in slideshow widget

When using a slideshow widget in Muse, why are added images
displayed 90 or 180 degrees from the original image?

Thanks for the quiuck reply - it is really appreciated.  Further investigation resulted in discovering that only photos from my iPad are being rotated.  Still don't know why.  All other photos are OK.  The iPad photos took a circuitous route getting to my computer - but don't know why that should matter.  Guess I'll have to delve into the HTML code to see if I can find the problem.  If not, I may need further help!
