Rotated in iMovie, but not rotated when brought into iDVD?

I shot a video on my iPhone in the vertical. I rotated it in iMovie so it wouldn't be sideways. I opened iDVD to make a DVD of this movie. The movie appears sideways in iDVD, even though it looks correct in iMovie. Oh what to do?

You are right. I eventually solved the difficulty by exporting the movie under the Share Menu. Before that, I had been trying to take it directly from iMovie to iDVD, not knowing anything about the software. This method fixed the rotation problem, and added the black bars as you mentioned, and I expected.

Audio ok when playing on computer, but not there when playing on DVD player

I've made two DVDs on my MacBook: one where I dragged a variety of short films into iDVD (imported via iMovie but NOT edited on iMovie!) and burned it - this one plays fine on everyone's computers and DVD players. The second DVD I created with material edited in iMovie and then burned via Share -> iDVD and while that plays fine on my computer, the audio is "missing" when I play it on a regular DVD player.
I burned the DVDs the exact same way, used the exact same DVD stock, and played on the exact same DVD player, so what's going on? I don't think it's an iDVD problem, I think there's something (not) happening in iMovie...

Does this only open on that specific site?
In any case, you may want to:
- instruct Firefox to handle PDF files in a specific way by going into Tools > Options > Applications and selecting the option you want for the PDF files
- reinstall Adobe Reader and its Firefox plugin
- install another reader instead of Adobe Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ ), since it's free, VERY light, VERY fast, safe and also has a Firefox plugin (make sure you don't have both Adobe Reader plugin and Foxit Reader plugin enabled/installed at the same time in Firefox)

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

Are there any error codes displayed or in the eventlog?
Is the sequencer machine identical as the client where the package is started?
Is KB2984972 installed on the client?
What version of App-V do you use?
Did you install the the application in the PVAD or in the VFS?

I have iDVD 6.
The PC drive recognizes / sees the DVD files I created using iDVD in the drive, but doesn't load or play anything. When I look at the DVD it doesn't show any file that would load anything, just 1 video and audio.
ALSO I like the look of the DVD when it opens at a certain size. It keeps opening at full screen size, is there any why to make it open at a specific size and have the option to expand to full screen?

1. iDVD 8 has three levels of qualities.
• Professional Quality (movies up to 120 min) - BEST
• High Performances (movies less than 60 min) - High quality on final DVD
• High Quality (movies up to 120 min) - slightly lower quality than above
2. From
• FCE/P - Export out as full quality QuickTime.mov
• iMovie x-6 - Don't use ”Share/Export to iDVD” = destructive even to movie project and especially so
when the movie includes photos. Instead just drop the iMovie movie project icon (with a Star on it) into iDVD theme window.
• iMovie’08 not meant to go to iDVD. Use iMovie HD 6
3. I use Toast™ to make an as slow burn as posibly eg x1 (in iDVD’08 this can also be set)
4. There has to be about or more than 25Gb free space on internal (start-up) hard disc. iDVD can't
use an external one as scratch disk (if it is not start-up disc).
5. Verbatim ( also recommende by many - Taiyo Yuden DVDs - I can’t get hold of it to test )
6. DVD-R (no +R or +/-RW)
7. Keep NTSC to NTSC - or - PAL to PAL when going from iMovie to iDVD
*More iDVD quality.*
iDVD quality depends on:
• HOW much free space is there on Your internal (start-up) hard disk. Go for approx 25Gb.
less than 5Gb and Your result will most probably not play.
• What kind of movie project You drop into it. MPEG4 seems to be a bad choise.
• What kind of standard - NTSC movie and NTSC DVD or PAL to PAL - no mix.
• What kind of DVDs You are using. I use Verbatim DVD-R (this brand AND no +R or +/-RW)
• How You encode and burn it. Two settings
1. go to iDVD pref menu and select tab far right and set burn speed to x1 (less errors = plays better)
2. Project info: Select Professional Encoding.
That's about it. Now You should get an as good copy as Your original movie can supply.

AVI clip blackened/choppy when brought into Elements

Hey All,
I'm running APE4 and trying to import CamStudio AVI screen recordings into my project. The AVIs were recorded at high quality (specs/codecs below) and appear crystal clear when played in any video player. When brought into APE4, however, the video clip is mostly blacked (screenshot below) and choppy.
Can somebody please help? A significant portion of my project needs to be these AVIs!
(recorded with CamStudio Lossless Codec v1.4, keyframes every 30 frames, capturing every 20ms, playback 50 frames/s)

I do not use Camtasia footage, but hope to do so, when I upgrade computers and install PrPro CS5 (to produce tutorials), but that does not help here.
I would also post to the Muvipix forum, as several subscribers to that forum also produce video tutorials, and might have much more to offer. Also, as they are on PrE, or older PrPro versions, the issue with the 64-bit TechSmith CODEC's will not come up. That is only a problem with PrPro CS5.

Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

IPhone will not charge when plugged into computer

My phone was not working, and so I took it to the apple store nearby. Here were the problems:
-error message saying "this device not made to work with iPhone"
-would not charge when plugged into computer OR wall charger
-person on other end of phone calls said i sounded really far away and had trouble hearing me
-when i shut it off, it restarts itself immediately
-cant do a manual reset holding the power and center buttons at same time
-when plugged into the computer, mouse freezes, and a message appears saying ""power surge on hub port A usb device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port."
At the genuis bar they told me they cant help me cause that little water damage indicator inside the headphone hole is pink instead of white! I have never ever ever ever ever EVER gotten my phone directly wet. The only thing i could think of was the humidity in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower, and using the timer to use hair remover on my legs lol. But i think this is totally unfair, they wont repair my phone, or even really look at it because of this supposed water damage. My phone has worked fine up to this point, and the thing that happened that started all of this is when i dropped it about a foot off the ground in a DRY parking lot.
Is there any way they will replace my iphone at no charge?

Well don't give up try again maybe your luck will change when you go back up there,let somebody else look at your phone not the same person that told you that.I would get a second and a 3rd option about my phone.When you go back don't even tell them what somebody already told you up there ones.

This usually is the way to find out if iMovie pref. file is corrupted.
Trash this and re-start iMovie and it usually works again.
(Very common faulth - most of us have encountered it)
• Delete iMovie pref file
iMovie pref file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named. (one or more of these)
com.apple.iMovie.plist
com.apple.iMovie3.plist
com.apple.iMovie7.plist
com.apple.iMovie8.plist
and find
com.apple.iApps.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.

Have IMovie but not IDVD, so how do I export?

Any help would be much appreciated. I have IMovieHD but my computer doesn't support IDVD. It's a hand me down and new to me. Have typically used just IMovie in the past and was able to export via a dv bridge to make VHS, that was on my old IMac. But now I am at a loss. I can't seem to get the same exporting options I had before. IMovieHD isn't recognizing my external DVD burner, and I can't get it to export to my VHS anymore. Any advice or suggestions?

I do not have IDVD5. I tried to go to mac and start updating the IDVDs, but I don't think I have a superdrive and therefore, from what I understand, my computer isn't compatable with IDVD. Ig I can use IDVD5, where can I download/purchase it without having to get the rest of Ilife which I already own?
My internal cd/dvd drive isn't working at all, hence why I got an external cd/dvd drive, that is a QUE!007. My DV Bridge is from Dazzle.
Basically, I am making a film that has mostly photos, and some film images, that I was able to get from my TV through the bridge up onto imove, some audio, and transitions and effects. I was hoping that when it was all said in done, I could just hit a button, burn a dvd that I could view in any dvd player, but that doesn't seem to be the case. When I tried to reverse and go from my computer to the tv through the bridge, the image was barely there basically a blue screen with a blur behind it.
So what do I do now to get this movie either onto a dvd or onto vhs? I feel like I have all the right working equipment but I just don't know how to make it all cooperate with each other...
So greatly appreciate all this help.

What are you trying to stream? Some websites have not enabled the video part of airplay... BBC iplayer for example.
