Rotating Graphs in Pages 5.0?

Hi guys.
I need to rotate a chart for my physics lab report (scatter graph made in Numbers 3.0), and this was available in the previous version of Pages, but in the new version, it doesn't seem to be available. Could anyone help me out with this? Just to check if the rotating option was completely gone so I tried with an image file and it works, so I am guessing it's just with the graphs that you cannot rotate.
While I am asking my question, I would also like to know if you can refresh graphs and charts as you were able to back in the '09 versions of Pages and Numbers?
Honestly I feel frustrated with the new version of Pages almost everyday. It was a decent word processor but I cannot possibly understand why Apple had to intentionally take all the good features out and make it harder to use
Although I am extremely satisfied with the new version of Keynote, the Pages and Numbers update were both horrible.

Tables don't rotate either.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
If you are unhappy with Pages 5, trash or archive it and rate/review it in the App Store.

  • Rotating image, decomposition page, recognizing text... etc.

    Hi,
Each time I open new pdf file, there is a small pop-uo with black background on the right bottom of the file indicating some operations: rotating image, decomposition page, recognizing text... as here:
These popups appear automatically, even if the document is in good quality! Meanwhile I can't navigate the document! I have to wait until the end of these processes (this could take longtime depending on the size of file) !
Does anybody know how to deactivate these popups?
    Thanks.

I had this problem in Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and just figured out how to fix it: It is related to a "read out loud" setting.
Apparently Acrobat OCR's the document just to figure out in which order it  should be read aloud, and there's no way to disable this.  The document  I was having trouble with does have equations in it, so whether or not this takes long enough to be annoying may depend on whether the document contains things that are hard for OCR to process.
You can fix it by editing preferences for "Reading" and change Reading Order to "Left-to-right, top-to-bottom..." instead of "Infer reading order from document (recommended)".  Then make sure Screen Reader Options is set to "Only read the currently visible pages".

  • How to rotate odd/even pages in opposite directions?

I have a number of pdf documents with more than 1,500 pages. The left pages are rotated 90 degrees left and the right pages are rotated 90 degrees right. Using the Acrobat view and rotate feature, all pages within the document rotate. This makes 'the odd pages 'upright' but the even pages are then 'upside down'.
What is an efficient method to rotate all these pages to an "upright" position that reads 'normally'?
My goal is to covert these into searchable pdf documents using Acrobat Pro XI.

FOLLOWUP: Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully these answers will also help others in the future who face the same dilemma. I had 'jumped the gun' in the respect that I was new to Acrobat and had not discovered the Tools > Pages > Rotate method within the program. That worked perfect on another document that needed to have pages rotated in bulk. Also, I will now investigate the 'coded' method to learn a little more about the capabilities within Acrobat. Thanks again!

  • How do I rotate a single page in a multi-page document?

I recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X version 10.0.0. Where is the option to rotate a single page in a multi-page document?
Also, I often receive faxes as PDF's that are upside down. How do I rotate a page so that it remains rotated the next time that I open it?
    Thanks.

It works (it saves the rotation) when I use the rotation method under the tools menu. Thanks.
    Yes.
Tools > Pages > Rotate permanently rotates the pages (if you save the file afterward of course) and View>Rotate view only changes the view for the current session.

  • Rotating a single page in a document

I have a document that requires a few pages to be landscape and the rest portrait. I've tried to create a break and rotate only that page but it didn't work.
    How do I do this?

You can't have pages at different sizes or orientation.
Instead you turn the contents of the particular page at 90°.

  • How do I send a pdf of a graph from grapher to pages?

I use the program grapher for school work and to make graphs for my math classes.
in the grapher print window there is a way to automatically send a pdf of the graph to various programs including mail, iTunes, and Preview.
I am wondering if there is a way to send it directly to Pages. I have a feeling that it will involve Automator.
Can anybody tell me how to do this?

Another approach that could be useful if you have dozens of Grapher files: set up a virtual print-to-PDF printer with CUPS-PDF, https://bitbucket.org/codepoet/cups-pdf-for-mac-os-x/wiki/Home.  For further info, see this somewhat out-of-date article on an earlier version of CUPS-PDF: http://www.macworld.com/article/139518/2009/03/cupspdf.html.  By the way, I don't know whether CUPS-PDF still works under Lion.  My comments here are based on Snow Leopard.
Drag all .gcx files to the virtual print-to-PDF printer icon.  As CUPS-PDF does its job on each file, Grapher will open and close quickly with error messages to the effect that "Grapher quit unexpectedly," but the PDFs will be produced nonetheless.  Then drag all the PDFs into Pages.
    A couple of notes:
    1. The Grapher images rotate 90º as the PDFs are created.  There's probably a way to adjust CUPS-PDF to keep the Grapher orientation if that's important to you.
    2. The PDF image is dependent on the size of the Grapher window for each graph.  If a PDF reveals only part of the graph, open the .gcx in Grapher, reduce the window size, and resave the file before sending it through CUPS-PDF again.

  • How do I rotate tables in Pages 2014 on Yosemite?

Hi! I've been working on my thesis on Pages 09 and it worked really great! I bought a new MacBook Pro with Retina and switched to the new iWork... There are a few features that I used in Pages 09 that now are missing like 'two up' view and the possibility to rotate tables. Does anyone know how can one rotate a table to 90 degrees in the new version of Pages?
    Thanks!

Have you updated to iWork '09 v4.3?

  • How to rotate an A4 page without rotating the contents?

I have a fat table to build, so the traditional A4 size page doesn't fit any more, I want a "fat" page, but only one page.

You'll need to create a rotated Master page to hold this type of layout (if that's what you mean by a "fat" page).
    1. Create a new Master page (right- or left-sided as needed) for the landscape orientation.
    2. Use the Format > Customize layout  menu to rotate the page (typically clockwise).
    3. Select the Text frame.
    4. Rotate the text frame back (counter-clockwise).
    5. Transpose Height/Width values and reset the Top/Left so that it fits properly on the page (wrt to the standard Master page(s)).

Hi, I just tested this against 3 different versions of WSA and did not see the problem you are reporting. If this continues I suggest you contact Cisco support. This does not appear to be an issue specifically with the WSA itself from my findings.

  • Creating graphs web page

    Hi,
I am trying out this Jdeveloper.
I am trying to create a web page that show graphs (values are from a table) as well as some table's data.
Can JDeveloper create such web page ? and what type of project should it be created under ? ADF , Jave EE Web Application ?
    appreciate your advise
    tks & rgds

    Hi,
I assume you are using version of JDeveloper 11g. The simpliest way how to make graphs is to create ADF Fusion application. Then you can decide whether you will use ADF BC as a model (or EJB/JPA). In the view project you can create graph very simply
    just drag & drop way.
you can learn more here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/dvt/gant_chart_pivot_table.htm

  • Rotated Accordion causing page to move

When I place an accordion on a page and rotate it 90º it causes the page to move at the bottom of the site every time I click on one of the tabs, is this a bug?

    Hi Patrick,
It is a bug. This bug happens because we expand the accordion horizontally in this case, but the browser ignores the rotation the accordion has and adds the space below the accordion. We then realize this and adjust the page to be exactly browser height again.
Unfortunately until we come up with a fix, the only workarounds for this case are to either set the page height to be something taller than the browser height (so that Sicky Footer is not needed to calculate the page height) or to turn off the Sticky Footer page property entirely (Page/Site Properties checkbox under the Page Width and Min Height input boxes).
    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    Dana

  • Dynamically linking a Numbers graph into Pages document

I want to creat a Pages 5.2 document that uses a graph made in Numbers 3.1 -- I see that the older versions of iWork allow for this. Can anyone help me do this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks Tom.

The Link feature is gone. You can use the old version and have the feature you miss, or you can soldier on with the new one. Numbers is still the best place to build and edit Charts. Once you have Pasted the Chert into Pages, you can activate the chart and click on Edit Chart Data to expose the underlying table. Then you can Paste the new data, copied from Numbers, to update the Pages chart.

  • Rotating tables in Pages 5 (iWork '13)

I am using Pages 5.0.1 and I need to rotate a table. Apparently, you could rotate a table in Pages '09 by selecting "floating table". In Pages 5.0.1 Rotate is greyed out.

    Hi Peter,
The top table in the screen shot of Pages 5.0.1 is the live table. The second table is a static image of the same table, which can be rotated. To produce an image of the table:
    Select the table and Command-C.
    Switch to Preview.app and Command-N, Command-C.
Switch back to Pages and Command-V.
At this point you have the real table and the image of the table. If you think you will need to edit the real table, duplicate your document for later use from this point. Delete the table and rotate the image.
