Rotating Monitors short cut

We just installed 10 mac mini's with 24" samsung monitors that rotate to portrait mode for page layout. If we restart the mac, the restart will freeze with the gear. I then restart with safe boot, rotate monitor to landscape. Restart again, then rotate back to portrait mode. Samsung offers no driver for OS X.
Anyone know of a shortcut to rotate the display.. Key command?

Already read them thanks and LR is not that a big step forward on from PS, it's a step sideways as it just has complexity in different areas and is way too flawed at the moment with too many GUI/UI issues. Has promise though. Plus LR+PS are different tools for very different sorts of job. Fundamentally, PS is an image editor/creator and LR is a photo developer.
You still missed the point about the GUI and to use your iffy building analogy, no matter how well the flow of people is designed, if the signage is hard to read or locate as they are under mats, it's completely useless, as with airports and conference centres you really need to know specific destinations. Plus if it flows nicely but all the parts are an unnecessarily long way apart then that's no good either. That's a LR problem too, to edit a filename you have to move away from file you are working on, a terribly unintuitive and illogical workflow.
Besides it's a deeply flawed and pointless analogy as PS is an incredibly complex tool with a workflow that is multidirectional, unlike picking up your luggage. It is more like an airport, a bus station, a train station, an office, a home, a factory, a school... all in one package and where all the rooms in these buildings are possible destinations. Though when you know what you want from it, it's a doddle to use. Just like you easily know what to do when one is in a restaurant, a school, a bus station or at a library.
PS flows very nicely to my mind. It does what it does, exceptionally well hardly an appalling UI at all. Mind you v3 wasn't so nice to use and CS2 is essentially the same tool. Albeit with a vastly GUI/UI.
Maybe you want just a simple image developer, if so PS is the wrong tool for you, not that it is a wrong/bad tool per se.
It's very easy to do effective design for one very specific and simple task, say moving people from a plane to luggage collection, not really comparable to something incredibly complex, like software design. There's also no need to them to go back and undo their footsteps as they have decided they don't need that luggage any more as their client they were meeting downtown, has now decided to have a meeting in the Flight tower and they now also need to get/find safety kit to wear whilst running across the tarmac, with no signage as that is not how passengers normally behave.
LR as it stands has dramatically slowed down my workflow, due to it's clunkyness, slowness of operation, design bugs and it's different just to be different, keystrokes. LR may be cheap but I may well stick to buying the new CS3. And to revisit your iffy analogy, LR needs to be more consistent in it's Module's architecture to be like a well designed building. At the moment there's variation where there needn't be any. Why do I have to go to develop to review history, shouldn't that be in Library as well. It's almost like changing rooms to turn off the light of the one I was just in.
I would also prefer a Grid view option in Develop as that is easier than the current methods of developing multiple images. I just select all the images I want to develop and can add or remove as I go along. I prefer a big grid to the thumbnail option, preferably with a large preview on a second monitor of one image - like a combination or LR's Library, LR's Develop and ACR's window.
Constantly swapping modules for basic/simple functions is not exactly an improvement on LR's centralised paradigm. Worse if anything. Not always obvious which module you are in either and Cntrl+tab is the normal way to cycle through windows/files/nodules in a programme. But LR has clumsy [fixed] shortcuts instead.
You still haven't made any valid suggestions as how to improve on PS or even given a valid reason why adding customisation to shortcuts is a step back. Adding customising always benefits the end user, esp. as end users vary in their needs.

Select clips with short cut K board PP CS4

I searched high and low for this but can't find a solution. CS6 seems to be able to create short cuts which would be helpful is there isn't one. I would find it useful especially when animating photos on the time line. So I could move across the time line and see the animation in the control effect panel which would seems easier and quicker with a short cut than the mouse on a double screen.

Ann, going over this again. What I try to say is that if I select a clip with the mouse on the time line (and here I mean a photo) and I have Control Effect open My photo manipulation will show automatically in it and can see all the work I did on the clip. (Zoom, Position, Rotation, Opacity etc...) and so can modify it for another clip or set of clips. I can quickly go through lot of them but I would have find it more practical with a short cut if there would have been one

You can edit keyboard shortcuts in Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Edit.

Keyboard short cut not working in iOS 6 on iPhone

I just tried adding a new keyboard short cut on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6 and the short cut will not stay on the phone. I can enter it and it is added to the list of short cuts until I go back one screen, then the shor cut disappears. This worked fine under iOS 5 and still works fine on my iOS5 iPod Touch. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.

Are you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger.

Can't use down key because it opens automator. Does any one know how to disable this short cut?

Are you talking about the Down Arrow key? To my knowledge there is no way to use that key as a shortcut for anything. But look in the Keyboard section of System Preferences and the Keyboard shortcut tab.

G550 - short cuts no longer working

Forgive if I'm posting this in the wrong location. Please advise if I should post this elsewhere.
I have a G550 and it's been great. But today all my shortcuts to my applications stopped working.
2 issues/examples:
1) If I try to launch a web browser from my taskbar shortcut, I get asked which program I'd like to use to open it. I can select the appropriate one but I can't "save" that choice. I can launch the web browser, but then it asks if i want to save the firefox.exe file. I click cancel and the browser works but I have to go through that process each time. Same thing happens with IE, and Chrome. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same result.
Same issue with other taskbar short cuts.
2) I go to start, programs, MS office, MS Word. I get an error message that the application is missing. But I can open a previously saved Word (and other MS Office applications) file with no issue. So the application is there. Just can't navigate to it the "traditional" way.
Any idea what's going on? My anti virus (AVG premium) is up to date and working fine. Don't suspect a virus but not sure. Extensive scans find no issues.

I have three menus say File, Edit, Help in the MenuBar and i want to open these menus when i press short cut key from Key board, say Alt+F for File menu, Alt E for Edit menu and so on. When the file menu is shown i want to select the New menuItem in it by CtrlN.
When i press Alt key the letter F in File, E in Edit should be underlined.

Creating a Windows 7 OS desktop short cut for gmail with Firefox as browser, not internet explorer

I have an HP laptop that originally had Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit OS. I want to generate a desktop shortcut for gmail that uses Firefox as the browser not internet explorer (8). If I use IE 8 as the brower and enter in gmail.com, gmail opens. I can right click on that page and create a gmail desktop short cut with IE 8 as the browser. If I try the same steps using Firefox as the opened browser, I can't create a desktop short cut by right clicking...it is not an option. I can't make Firefox my default browser for everything as my work programs/shortcuts require IE. Again, how do I create a direct gmail desktop shortcut that uses Firefox as the browser, not IE 8, when IE 8 has to be the default browser?

You could create a shortcut to open Firefox with a specific site using a command line argument.
You can copy the shortcut that you use to open Firefox, then right-click on it and choose '''Properties'''. On the shortcut tab, you will see the target, it will look something like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
You can add gmail.com to this shortcut so it looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" gmail.com
