Rotating Multiple Thumbnails in Finder

I'm a convert from Windows and looking for a way to rotate multiple thumbnail images in Finder. I have the .JPGs all hilited and have the urge to just right-click and rotate CCW, like I can do in Windows Explorer. Can a MAC user out there help me out. Thanks.

There are a few options:
1) you can get a small preview of individual files by using the column view;
2) right-clicking and choosing 'Slideshow' will make a full-screen slideshow of your selection;
3) you can use a third party application such as GraphicConverter that provides a browser for graphics files.

  • How to rotate a thumbnail image in Finder?

Is there a way to rotate a thumbnail image in Finder? When I click a photo in a Finder folder, the image automatically opens in Preview and the image is correctly displayed right side up. But the thumbnail image is displaying a vertical photo horizontally. Can I rotate the thumbnail?

    corelle,
please open the sidebar of the Preview window and check how the thumbnail is displayed there.
If the orientation is wrong in the Preview sidebar as well, then apparently some program rotated the image but not the EXIF preview image, which is obviously not a good thing.
If the orientation is correct in the Preview sidebar, but wrong in the Finder, then the file probably has a custom icon with wrong orientation. This should then be removed rather than rotated. It's useless anyhow because Snow Leopard's Finder can better use the EXIF preview image instead.

  • No thumbnails in finder/preview after exporting files as dng out of lightroom?

Does anyone have experience sorting out the issue of no thumbnails in finder/preview after exporting files as dng out of lightroom?
There are several conversations in the forum about this problem, but cant seem to find a solution.
Anyone know how to sort this out?

    Thanks for your reply.
Mac does support previewing dngs in finder and preview. This has not been a problem before (besides when using my fujufilm compact camera, which mac now has updated the Apple camera for).
To answer your Q about dng files. Thats exactly what i do. I have work which involves communicating/transfering multiple lr -edited files to someone else whom further edits in ps. Not only that, I personally use dng as a way of storing my files. I suppose like to keep my files tidy and uniform.
Any mac users out there who has a a solution to my issue with previewing dngs?

  • Control-click doesn't select multiple thumbnails?

Two of our workstations have recently lost the ability to control-click to select multiple thumbnails. Control-click works in other applications, including Windows Explorer, but control-clicking in the thumbnails pane in Acrobat simply selects the next thumbnail - it doesn't add to the current selection as it used to.
These workstations are running Acrobat Pro 9.4.5. They are fully updated. Any thoughts?

Thank you so much. I did do a forum search but didn't find this. I appreciate you sending me in the right direction.

  • Cannot select multiple thumbnails in Pages Navigation Panel in 9.4.5

I've installed the latest Acrobat Pro version for Mac, 9.4.5, on both my iMac and MacBook Pro.  In both cases, I no longer can select multiple thumbnails of pages in the Navigation Panel's Pages panel.  Anyone know a fix for this?

    Jim!
The links are not showing any images. You have to upload them to a site like flickr or Imagehack and insert the http link in you post, between exclamation marks.
Is your system up to date? Your profile says 10.5.2. You need at least 10.5.6 for Pages.
Download the 10.5.8 Combo update and install it. _[Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update|http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=answerlink&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsuppo rt.apple.com%2Fkb%2FDL866&answerid=16777216&src=supportsite.downloads.search]
Is Pages up to date. It should be in your case, 9.0.3

  • Selecting multiple thumbnails weirdness

    Windows 7 64
    Bridge 5.02.4 x64
Cache is not exported to folders
When I want to select multiple thumbnails, I hold down the Ctrl key and click the desired thumbnails.  Only the first 2 or 3 thumbnails change state, yet they all show in the preview window on the right.  When I release the Ctrl key they all change state to show that they are selected.  So if selecting many, I don't know which I have selected until I release the Ctrl key.
Selecting with the shift key works as expected.
I have reset preferences and it seems to work normally only once or twice.  Same with purging cache. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge but the problem keeps coming back. It is somewhat intermittent as once in a while I can select 5 or 6 and they will all highlight, but 95+% of the time it works as described above.
Keyboard, graphics, etc., drivers are at latest level.
Any ideas?  Thanks for any ideas.
    Al

    Thanks for the ideas, Yammer.
    Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6570

                    Driver version    13.152.1.8000
Haven’t changed anything other than turn on GPU in Photoshop.
Thumbnail size:  Acts the same way no matter the thumbnail size.  Selected the same files in Windows Explorer and it worked as it should.
Scroll:  Tried all the options, no difference.
Fancy Keyboard/rodent:  No. Logitech USB wireless KB and Mouse, Wacom tablet, all with latest drivers.
    Accessibility: Nothing turned on there.
These were great suggestions!  Keep thinking J

  • Why can't I rotate multiple points in puppet warp at the same time?

You can rotate single points in puppet warp, and you can shift+click to select multiple points and move them at the same time but I see no way to rotate multiple points as one group using puppet warp.  This would be a very helpful feature I think should be added.

  • CS6 - Is it possible to rotate multiple objects independent of one another?

CS6 - Is it possible to rotate multiple objects independent of one another? In other words selecting say 9 object in a grid then rotating the all 30 degrees on their own axis.

I forgot Transform > Again won't rotate each layer about its own centre.
It can be done, though. Record an Action of a layer being rotated and followed by Opt+] or Alt+] to target next layer. It should look like the screenshot below. Use it by first running it on the lowest target layer in the stack then running however many more times is required.

  • .mp4 and .avi video thumbnails in finder view

Hi, Some of my .mp4 and .avi video files have a thumbnail in finder view and some don't... Does anyone know how I can solve this?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

Maybe, but maybe not. I use DigitalMedia Converter to convert to DV-AVI Type II's (I'm only doing SD), and it has a Split function. However, I have never used that, so do not know how well it might work for your needs, if at all. I just do not know. I believe that Deskshare has a user forum, and that might be a good place to try, after you've looked down their FAQ's.
I hope that others will have a definitive answer for you, with iron-clad suggestions.
    Good luck,

  • DNG thumbnail in finder

Does anyone have experience sorting out the issue of no thumbnails in finder/preview after exporting files as dng out of lightroom? There are several conversations in the forum about this problem, but cant seem to find a solution.
Anyone know how to sort this out?
(have the newest apple camera update, using canon mark ii, 17-35 mm if that can have anything to with it)

Last August Eric Chan, head RAW engineer, said that OSX does not support previews for particular cameras' DNGs.  The next reply was that OSX didn't support DNG previews for cameras that embed lens corrections in their RAW files.

There may be a QT plug-in for DNGs but I'm not a Mac guy so am not sure if it is universal:

  • Rotating Multiple Images

Greetings, I just purchased Aperture and am currently working through the Apple Pro Training Series book 'Aperture 2'. In one of the lessons they walk you through how to manipulate (rotate) multiple images. No matter what I try I can't seem to rotate more than one image. Multiple are selected, but it only will rotate the last image selected (image with bold yellow box around it - other images have a thin yellow box outlining them). Any thoughts? Is there some simple setting I am missing?
    Thanks in advance.

The 'yellow' lines make it sound like you have got "Quick preview" mode enabled (the icon with the square and lines trailing from it - an image and 'speed' lines, I guess...) ?
If it were white lines/boxes, then it would be the "primary only" setting - i.e. it's set, so any adjustments only affect the one with the bold box (the image you selected last). In Aperture 2, you can turn that off and on with the button marked "1".
(edited: to note the yellow/white distinction)

  • Can I add multiple devices to "Find My iPhone" that have different Apple ID's?

I was just wondering if it was possible at all to add multiple devices to "Find My iPhone".  These devices however, have separate Apple ID's.  Is this still possible? And if so, how do I go about diong that?

The same way you do it for one. Just repeat the steps but first log into each account to add the device connected to that Apple ID.

  • Sony files imported as DNG into Lightroom 5 have no thumbnails in Finder

I use Lightroom 5 and always convert my RAW files into DNG format when I import photos.  Since I converted to OS X the DNG thumbnails from my Sony NEX camera do not show up in Finder.  The DNG files coming from my Canon camera do show up as thumbnails.  This is a royal pain since you can't see the photos to identify which one you want without opening it up in Lightroom.  I have checked with Adobe and they are very clear that this is an Apple problem - which my experience would seem to support since the problem started when I converted to OS X.  Any solutions?

    Thanks for your reply.
