Rotating pages within a document

how do I rotate a page within a document?  Majority of document is portrait, and there is one page that is landscape.

You can rotate pages with Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader.

Any Help?I know the update has only been out a while but if anyone has an idea why it is doing this, please let me know!

But you are telling me something I already know.
    Be precise.
It is not Pages '09 that is broken.
I am back in Mavericks and testing Pages 5.2.
There are improvements, we shall see how useful, but in less than a minute I have already discovered bugs.

  • How to insert a page within a document

I need to insert an additional page within a document without reformatting my layout.
    How do I do that?
--- So far "Insert" > "sections" > "text page or blank" puts the additional page at the end of the doument.
    Tips anyone?
    (Pages 09 version 4.3)

    Luanne,
When you Insert a Section from the Add Section tool or the Insert Menu, the new section will be inserted directly after the current section, the section that the Insertion Cursor is in, or the Section Selected in the Thumbnails pane.
You can't insert a new section in the middle of an existing section, so it goes at the end of a 1-section document, which is what I would guess you have, a 1-section document. What you probably should do is insert a Section Break at the point where yiu want to add a section or page. Or forget about adding a Section and just Insert a Page Break there.

  • Acrobat 8 Professional 8.1.2 crashes When selecting "Rotate Pages" from the "Document" drop down men

When selecting "Rotate Pages" from the "Document" drop down menu Acrobat 8 Professional 8.1.2 crashes. Every time, no error mesage. Have run "Repair Acrobat Installation" with no success. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am also experiencing the same problem only recently.  I have used the program for almost a year without any problems except now.  Adobe Acrobat 8 standard, ver 8.1.5.
Whenever I insert pages or rotate, I get an immediate shut down window, “Adobe Acrobat 8.1 ahs encountered a problem and needs to close.
I am no longer able to use this program.  Abobe Acrobat 5.0 still works fine.  Does anyone have a solution?  I already did a repair and reloaded the program.

  • How do I move a section of Pages within a document ?

    Hi there,
I am writing my thesis and I want to move a group of 6 pages (representing a chapter) from one area of my document to another. I inserted a 'Section Break' at the end of the page preceeding the first page of my grouping, and inserted another at the end of the 6th page of my grouping. I've done this for all the chapter groupings of my document.
When I look at the thumbnail view on the side of the document, I can see that each chapter grouping is enclosed by a yellow line box if I click on a page within the chapter grouping. So far so good, I think. Except now when I click of one of those groupings and try to drag it and insert it in between two other other chapter groupings i.e. I'm trying to reorganise my chapter order, it doesn't move the section I want to move at all.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong ? Thanks in advance.
    Matt.

    Thanks for your advice Peter.
I continued to play around with trying to move the sections around (I didn't change any sectioning to what I had previously done). I found out - and I don't know why - that I could not move sections upwards as I was trying to do...only downwards.
So I eventually reorganised my sections by strategically moving them downwards until I had the document looking like I wanted it to. Still strikes me as odd. It was like doing one of those puzzles, deciding which block goes where without moving up, in as few moves as possible - but I eventually got it done.

  • How do I move pages within a document?

I have a manual I created for work and I want to reorder the pages. I want a move a section to the beginning but when I try to move the pages, it moves multiple pages at once. There is a yellow box surrounding the pages affected. I don't know how to change or remove the box.
    THanks in advance!

You may only move a section (as indictaed by the yellow border) as a whole.
Sections are separated by section breaks. So if you want to further divide your book, insert a Section Break as needed.
Text flows from page to page in a Word Processing document, it is unrealistic to think of them as random pieces of paper to be shuffled on whim. That would have the same effect as tearing out individual pages in a real book and pasting them in somewhere else.

  • Color looks different within a document in different page

    Hi,
I created a square with a green stroke (RGB-0.255.0) that I had placed on different pages within a document.
On some pages, the green looks perfect and some other pages it looks like it is converted in CMYK, The green doesn't look the same.
Does anyone have an idea why?
    Thanks

There's probably transparency of some sort on those pages and your transparency blend space is set to CMYK.

  • Is it possible to give each page within one pdf document a specific set of print settings?

I have a complex document (catalogue) that requires printing. There are several different printer settings required and each one is specific to each page within the document. For instance pg 1 is single sided in colour, page 2-3 is duplexed in b&w, page 3-8 is duplexed in colour, etc.... Is it possible to give each page within the pdf document a given set of print settings and then print the entire document as a whole?

    Hi jennyskop
I assume that is not feasible ...You need to give the print command again and select the respective pages and their settings !

  • Is there a way to create a link within a document that will pull text from the document and open it up in a separate text box within the document?

I am trying to link sections of an form within a PDF back to instructions within the same PDF document.  Instead of having this jump back to the page within the document I would like for it to pull up the identified text within a separate pop-up text box on the same page where the form lives.  Is this possible?

    Hi gwebster,
Instead of linking back to the instructions page, may be you can use tool tips or comments so that the instructions can be seen besides the text.

  • How do i distribute a form within a document?

I have one page within a document I would like to use as a form and retrieve the information, how do I send my document and retrieve the information from the form within the doc?

If you're using FormsCentral to collect the responses, after you import the PDF into FormsCentral, open the form in FormsCentral and you'll see the Distribute tab as shown in the screen shot below:
It allows you to download the enabled PDF, which you can then distribute to users or post on a web site.

  • How can I bookmark a page in a document?

How can I bookmark a page within a document?

    Hi rhirota,
This can't be done with the CreatePDF service.  To add a bookmark to a PDF, you need Adobe Acrobat. We offer a 30-day trial of Acrobat here: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryacrobatpro
Specific instructions for creating a bookmarking in a PDF can be found here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7ccf.w.html# WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7cc6.w

  • How to merge pages within the same document?

Can I merge pages within the same pdf document? I have two large maps, an east and west, can I put the two pages together to make one map?

    How different are the layouts?
You can vary the left and right pages:
    +Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration > Left and right pages are different+
But the position of the headers, footers and margins will be the same.
You could make different designs and capture those but each would have to be its own section. This sort of thing works better in Layout mode, where every page is a different section, but you won't get automatic text flow nor TOC, footnotes etc.
Pages rapidly gets very clumsy when you try to do detail layout to this extent.

  • How to keep an image "in place" within a document using Pages?

Here's what I want solved. When I position an image (like a jPeg photo) within a document I take a great amount of care as to how it looks in the layout. BUT, if I add a new line of text ABOVE the image, all the text moves, but the image stays in place. When the text above moves down, any kind of "art direction" is lost.
Yes, I know there is a way to "LOCK" the image, but that doesn't solve this issue. The formatting still moves all the text and the image is stuck, LOCKED or UN-LOCKED.
I want to know if there is a way to KEEP THE IMAGE in place within the text. I want to be able to edit above the image and not have the headache of needing to move the image every single time I change something above it.
    Does this make sense?
I have to assume there is a way to do this, I just haven't figured it out.
    I am using Pages 09.
    thanks,
    Mike C

    (a little bit more)
This text below is from the Pages help menu, but (sadly) This does NOT solve my problems.
    Locking and Unlocking Floating Objects
You can lock floating objects to avoid inadvertently moving them as you work. Inline objects cannot be grouped or locked.
After you lock individual or grouped objects, you can’t move, delete, or modify them in any way until you unlock them. However, a locked object can be selected, copied, or duplicated; when you copy or duplicate a locked object, the new object is also locked.
    To lock a floating object:
Select the objects you want to lock, and then choose Arrange > Lock.
    To unlock a floating object:
Select the objects you want to unlock, and then choose Arrange > Unlock.
