Rotation, export, and dates

I recently got a new Macbook Pro and transferred files over from my old Macbook via firewire. My older photos were properly imported into iPhoto.
The problems are happening with newly-imported photos.
1) When I import the photos, they are given a 2005 date instead of 2011. Why?
2) When I rotate a photo to vertical, it works fine. But when I export the photo and upload it online, the rotation reverts back. How do I fix this?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Yes, use RMAN for backups. This export won't let you restore everything if your database crashes after an hour your export finished. You would have lost an hour of data. With RMAN, it will take hardly 1/5th of the export time and it is reliable when recovery situation occurs.
By the way, if you use traditional export (not the datapump), you can use pipe to compress the data as the data gets exported.

Questions on Subviews and Import/Export in Data Modeler v3 EA1.

I have a few questions about the capabilities of Data Modeler v3 EA1:
1) Is it possible to rename subviews? Would like more meaningful names then Relational_x - Subview_x.
2) Is it possible to save documents at subview level?
3) Is it possible to import/export subsets of data?
4) Having problems importing Erwin 7 .xml file, is there known problems with this import?

Hi Judy,
1) To rename a subview just right click on it in the browser tree and select "Properties". In the properties dialog change the name and click OK button.
2) You can save a subview as new Data Modeler design - from the File menu select Export -> To Data Modeling Design. In the newly opened dialog select the subview you want to export and click OK button.
3) After saving a subview as new design (see answer #2) it can be imported in some other design (File -> Import -> Data Modeler Design).
4) What kind of problems do you have with import of Erwin 7.* xml file?

Language Problem while exporting and importing data

I created new user on my new server from enterprise manager.
Exported user from the old server and imported in the new server.
i.e: from Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0, I did
c:\>exp system/manager file=abc.dmp owner=abc
Then on the new server Release 9.2.0.1.0, I did
c:\>imp system/manager file=abc.dmp fromuser=abc touser=abc
I'm using Arabic Language on my both servers. NLS_LANG parameter on both the servers is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252.
On both the servers I'm able to insert and select data in arabic.
However, after I export the data from old server to the new server, the arabic data comes in question marks.
If I create new table and insert arabic data on new server's user abc it is displaying well. Only the data which I exported and imported is not showing arabic.
On both old and new servers operating system is Windows XP.
I'm stuck with this problem. Anybody having any idea about how to solve this problem please help.

Let me be clear here. Storing Arabic data in a WE8MSWIN1252 database is not supported by Oracle and will lead to problems. You are incorrectly using the NLS_LANG to prevent proper conversion and your data appears to be okay when you use utilties like SQL*PLUS to view your data. When you write applications that don't rely on the NLS_LANG like JDBC thin driver for instance you will realize your data is in fact invalid. To migrate your database to a proper character set you can refer to this paper:

Exporting and Importing Large data set of approx 300,000 rows

Hi,
I have a table in db 1(approx 10 columns) and want to copy all the rows(approx. 300,000) from this table with a simple where clause to the same db table in db 2. Both databases are on unix.
I am executing this from a laptop with windows XP remotely connected to my office network.
Could someone let me know what is the best way to do this.

You don't. Create a dblink and copy the data directly from the source to the target:

Is there a way to export and print the browser data as a spread sheet?

I'm in the process of logging approximately 1,500 shots for a documentary (the old fashioned way - long hand: shot #, TC in, descriptions... ) and I'm wondering if there's a way to export and print the data in the browser as a spread sheet. It seems like a pretty simple thing, but I don't see it any where. Am I missing something?

Yes, people I work with use it, assistants fill the fields out for me. As far as I know there is no "Print Browser" option. Some folks have assistants copy and paste the info into text, csv or xml files. Since everthing has gone to meta tags, this approach is going the way of the electric spoon or feeding mayonnaise to Tuna.

I need to be able to export the data from health kit and read it in something. Anything.

I've tried pretty much everything from Excel to downloaded and online apps. I'm done downloading crap to my brand new computer. My problem is that I need to be able to export the data into a readable format so that I can give it to my dr(s). Is there ANY WAY that this is possible? I'm kind of at my wits end here. All help/suggestions are appreciated.
What I've done:
1. Exported data. It creates an xml file that can be opened in excel but gives raw data that no one but egghead developers can read (and I use that term in the best possible way.)
2. Tried to download an excel add on. Didn't work.
3. Tried several online applications. Same result as Excel.
Somehow this data has to be able to be read by someone other than myself, on my phone.
Thanks to one and all for the many, many suggestions that I'm about to get.

The only way out of Premiere Elements 11 is via export in video format (except for jpegs or audio under Publish+Share/Computer/Image or audio).
The video is whole, not in a project file (project.prel).
And, the Premiere Elements 11 project.prel does not appear to be an After Effects supported project format

Best way to export and import data from an iPhone app?

How do people here prefer to export and import data from an iPhone app?
For example, suppose your app creates or modifies a plist. It might be nice to provide that plist to the user for separate backup and later allow them to re-import it.
How do people do that? Email the plist to an address? If so, how would one later get it back in?
Is there a common way people do this kind of thing?

Or maybe the best approach for this is some sort of file synchronization feature? Is there a way of having files from the app's filesystem automatically get stored on the computer's filesystem when synchronizing and vice-versa?

In XI pro, exporting PDF to Excel problem. Excel columns and data are not properly aligned. Help?

I used 30 day trial of Acrobat XI and all the functions work perfectly. But, when I buy the program (either download or disk) my PDF that export to Excel is not working. The excel columns and data are not properly aligned as they should be. The Trial version aligns everything perfectly. What is happening? I use a MAC 10.9.5. But this shouldn't matter because the trial version works perfectly. Can anyone help?

Situation: I need to export data of one table from Oracle 10.2.0.1 to Oracle 9.2.0.8
Background: Oracle 10.2.0.1 at Machine 1(IBM AIX), Oracle 9.2.0.8 at Machine 2(don't know, maybe Stratus), My local Machine(XP)
Method 1: using SQL developer (MWB)
Bug: there is CLOB field in the target table. All content of CLOB field become "(CLOB)" and data lost. This is a logged bug.
Solution: give up using SQL developer
Method 2: using Oracle 10 client exp & imp and remote from my local machine XP
Bug: PLS-00302-SET_NO_OUTLINES must be declared
Solution: using Oracle 9 client
Method 3: using Oracle 9.2.0.1 client, since my local machine is XP
Bug: EXP-00003: no storage definition found for segment (target DB run Oracle 9.2.0.8)
Solution: using Oracle 9.2.0.8 client
Problem: Oracle 9.2.0.8 client is for Stratus x86 only? I have no idea what Stratus is except believing it is a server machine.
My senior told me to use sqlldr. But I just used it once for 3rd party DB for import. Can sqlldr export data?

I think that using spool and sqlldr is the most "painless" method for Oracle 10g to 9i data move unless you are DBA of both DBs.
Please share If anyone have easier/safer method. I am just crazy to migrate backward Oracle version.

Yes, you can export user responses into an excel file. To do that, open the responses tab, select Files -> Export Responses and select Microsoft Excel to export response data into.

When I imported that xml file in the same pdf file that is used for exporting the xml data then all the data are shown in the control but not color and font typeface. Can you export the date and user to Excel that appears into a Comments field in a tracking list?
When i export a tracking list with a Comment field in the Content type, the screen where you enter the data for an item, the Comments field just export the text of the comment into the Excel file.
In the Comments field appears also, besides the comment text, the user and date from who and when the comment is added.
Is there a way to export also the user and the date?

create another comment field that doesn't use 'appending', and through SP Designer change workflow keep
updating that field with the new comments (prepend the field with date/username/new comment). Hide the field on all forms, but put it in the view you need to export to Excel.

Using IBOTS you can store specific report and specific time in specific location.
Note : Using JS script.
