Rough chapter titles

I made the chapter titles in dvd pro but they come out very bad quality even though I tried changing the font. Any idea what the problem might be?

Ania:
Are you writing the button text right on DVDSP?
Are you using a photoshop file?
Do you see the problems in the text itself or in the highlighted states?
Where are you judging your text quality: Simulator, burned DVD, computer/TV playback?
All these information is important to get a solution !

  • How to view long chapter titles without abbreviation for audiobooks in music app?

Many of the names of the chapters of the audiobooks I listen to in the music app are extremely long (i.e., more than 22 characters).  However, I cannot find a way to display more than the first ~22 characters.
When I start playing an audiobook, I click the little button in the upper right corner of the screen.  This displays all of the chapter titles.  However, it displays only one line per title, and if the title is longer than ~22 characters, it abbreviates with an ellipsis.  Clicking on the title just causes it to play.  Side scrolling doesn't seem to be available.  I can find no way to display the whole title.  This is extremely frustrating, because I like to know what I'm listening to, and I sometimes like to be able to choose a chapter based on the title.
Is it possible to display long chapter titles for audiobooks on iOS, or is this a missing feature that I need to ask Apple to incorporate into a future iOS build?
PS It would also be nice if the app displayed the chapter titles on the playback screen (i.e., on the screen one sees without having to click the button in the upper right hand corner). I'll suggest this to Apple as well.  If others do the same, athttp://www.apple.com/feedback/ perhaps they'll listen.
PPS It would also be nice if audiobooks could be displayed by author, the way music can be displayed by artist, on iOS.  Another piece of feedback I'll be giving Apple.  Please do the same if you'd also like this feature.

  • Help with chapter title text and removing "{" symbol

I am trying to creat a Quicktime Pro movie with chapter titles.  I followed the instructions in the Quicktime user manual to use a text editor and I am able to creating the chapter markers as desired, however, my chapter titles all have the "}" symbol at the beginning.  I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with my text file.  See my text file below.  When I import the below file my chapter titles show "}Chapter 1" and so on.  I have tried putting an extra space, return break and it still doesn't work.  Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?  Thanks!!

  • Changing the chapter title automatically on a master page

hi,<br />I'm hoping someone can help. I've just received an Indesign file from a colleague which has an automatic feature which pulls the chapter heading from the document and places in on the right hand side. the master page has this written on it <chapter heading on right><br /><br />In the past, I would have created a master page for each new chapter if I wanted to have the chapter title on the right, but this seems to be a far superior way of doing things.<br /><br />How do I go about doing it? I can't find the function anywhere on InDesign.<br />thanks,<br />Jean

  • RH inserts filenames as title elements (instead of the actual chapter titles)

    Hi all,
I am not sure whether this is a bug or can be fixed. When I import from FM using chapter title paragraph styles for breaking the content into topics, then RH inserts the resulting file names into the topic as <title> elements and not the title names themselves.
This is no problem as long as you can use the default naming convention (i.e. heading and filename identical). For some output formats hovever it is necessary to use a different naming convention to avoid non-english characters in file names. In such a case I use <n> as naming, resulting in files that have ascending numbers as file names.
Now I receive e.g. a topic with the h1 heading "This is my topic", the filename "123.htm" and the HTML title "123". That is very bad because in the search results e.g. in Javahelp the HTML titles are displayed, resulting in unusable search results.
Do you have any suggestions how to avoid this dilemma?
    Robert

I thought you could control that by using something in a marker – there was some little-known feature that allowed you to control what RH called the filename or or topic title (I forget which) based on a special marker & marker text in FM. You’ll need to dig around for it in either the forum or the TCS blog or the help.

  • In Lieu of Viewing Chapter Titles on an iPod

In Lieu of viewing chapter titles I have preferred not to use audiobooks. I just could never figure out why someone would want to view the Title of the book TWICE - once as the NAME and once again as the ALBUM. I'm certain there perhaps is a different way to arrange it so that it could display the chapter titles? It seems nicer to use a playlist that I can see all the artwork in, as well as the title of each chapter.
However, I still have some audiobooks that I have created before I found out about not being able to see chapter titles. I would like to continue changing my audiobooks to fully "playlistable" separate files.
so I have a couple of questions since I've had to do this.
    1) is there a way to Add art to an already created Audiobook? (In case I cannot take the book appart?)
    2) is there a quick way to split up an audiobook or Chaptered AAC into separate MP3 or AAC files?

google for atomic parsley-it's a meta tag editor.
Should be able to find something with a nice GUI that would work.
Lostify on the Mac works nicely.

  • Formatting chapter titles in table of contents

I am finishing up my dissertation and am having trouble with the TOC. My chapter titles are usually a couple of lines long: e.g.
    Chapter 1
    Blah Blah Blah
    Blah Blah Blah Blah
It looks nicer on separate lines like this. But when I insert a TOC, it's like this:
    Chapter 1 11
    Blah Blah Blah 11
    Blah Blah Blah Blah 11
In other words, Pages seems to think these are separate headings even though it's one chapter title. Is there a way to get around this problem? I tried reducing the margins, but you can only do it for all of the chapter lines, and what I want is "Chapter X" on one line and the rest of the text on the next line and possibly following lines. How can I adjust the appearance of the TOC? Thanks.

    WC,
Try breaking the lines with CTRL-Return rather than with a regular Return.

  • Chapter titles in landscape and portrait?

I would like my chapter titles to appear slightly differently in landscape and in portrait views. Is this possible?

    >working fine for the most part
Any time you start seeing gremlins like this, you may be working with a corrupted book, so be careful.
Be sure the font is iOS compatible and that the text string is not being cut-off...reduce the font size to test.
Best to try in another fresh book to see if you can replicate. If that occurs, consider sending feedback to let Apple know, thanks.

  • Chapter Title Text Frame Questions

I have a book with some side heads, and I made a master page with a simple grey background.  It works great when the chapter title is short:
(the grid pattern is a screen capture artifact--on my screen is a solid grey)
I put an empty paragraph in there to scroll down the next body paragraph, and while it's not an elegant solution, it does work.
However, some chapter titles are longer and push things down:
And that pushes down the body text.  So, I tried adding a chapter title text frame to the master page:
This works great visually, and also gives the chapter title more room since the upper text frame doesn't have side heads:
However, now the book files listing seems not to be recognizing the chapter title, and instead is just picking up body text from the document:
The first text frame has "autoconnect" turned off, and I named that "A" and the main body text frame "B".
Any suggestions as to how to get the book files listing to recognize the chapter title?
    Thanks!
    John
    www.controlgeek.net

    John,
I have not tried this, but you could try creating a master page for the first page in the chapter. Put two frames on the master page BOTH with the flow set to A. Position the first frame where you want the title to be and position the second frame where you want the text to begin. Set the paragraph tag for the title to have no space following. Set the paragraph tag for the FIRST paragraph of the text to Keep X rows together. With X set large enough, FrameMaker would not have room to put the first paragraph in the upper frame, so it will push it to the next frame. If this works, you can even go back to your original side head format for the title. You just have to make sure the top frame is large enough to hold all titles, so that a title does not leak to the second frame.

  • Set fonts of chapter title so the reader will not be able to change it

Would it be possible to set the fonts of my Chapter title so the reader will not be able to change it like the fonts elsewhere in my book? i.e. If the reader changes the fonts, only the fonts in the paragraphs will change but not the chapter title.
    Thank you.

On the USA Apple site it states that the iphone5c is available unlocked as stated below.
If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed that you can activate by visiting an Apple Retail Store or a T-Mobile store or by calling T-Mobile. If you buy a SIM-free iPhone, you will need to purchase a GSM-compatible nano-SIM card separately. In the United States, you can purchase such a SIM from AT&T or T-Mobile. When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5c from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone 5c model is A1532 (GSM). For details on LTE support, see www.apple.com/iphone/LTE.
The ipad is the same in USA as in most other countries.
However, the warranties are specific to the country the iphones and ipads are sold in, so if you need to have one replaced under warranty, you could have a problem. Personally, I don't quite 'get it.' We are in a very big city and at one Apple store that is always very crowded there is constantly a crowd of international tourists who buy many Apple products. We've seen one tourist buying eight to ten ipads! I wonder when I see them if they're aware of the warranty issue or if they have a way to work around it or if they're going to chance it.
So I suggest you research this a little more before you decide. It's too bad that the prices vary so greatly from country to country. It could be customs and other taxes, but it would be great if this could somehow be changed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Chapter title won't render correct font in portrait mode

I'm trying to change the default chapter title font (Georgia) to Helvetica Neue.  It renders fine in landscape mode and in the TOC, but if I look at it in portrait mode it doesn't render the font correctly and stays Georgia.

Nevermind, I figured it out.  You have to manually change it portrait mode as well as landscape mode while you're in iBooks Author.

  • Using images as chapter titles - how do you name them?

    Hi. I'm using InDesign 5.5.
I'm working on a project with multiple chapters, each chapter has a name eg Chapter One, which is viewable both on the page and is used in the table of contents.
For some chapters to give a bit of variety and more of a pro look I want to use images that I have created in Photoshop that has the name written graphically. So I have inserted the image at the start of the chapter page, I have applied the style that I used for the text chapter titles, and converted the file into an ePub. It looks great. The only problem is in the Table of Contents there is no text, it functions correctly if tapped, but the chapter is left without a name. Is there a method to give it a chapter name either in InDesign or in the HTML?

Hi Steve. Thanks for your suggestions.
I tried pasting the image on top of the text which looks fine in InDesign but when converted into an epub, depending on where exactly I place the end of page marker #,  the text shows and the image displays on the following page or preceeding page but never on top of the text.
Your second idea will work. That is making the text paper-coloured so I could put invisible text first, then the image would be all that can be seen on the epub page, although it would be pushed one line down, although this could be reduced by using the smallest size font possible. -But I can't use that with my current project because for some chapter titles I want standard text and I don't think you can have two styles that are used to make Chapter Titles?

  • Enhanced chapter titles on iPod seek screen - We do it - but not sure how

OK, so I am one of a three person team that produces an enhanced podcast. We use the Chapter Tool command line utility on XML that we edit by hand (each chapter has a title, image, and link), then we upload the file to our host (libsyn), and use Pivot front end to create a feed for use in feedburner.
So, we've noticed that after we download an enhanced episode through the iTunes store and load it on to our ipod, when you press the center button on the iPod to go to the "seek" screen (where you can use the wheel to fast forward through the the file), the chapter title is displayed just above the file location marker.
You can see an example of this on this page we made showing our listeners what to expeect in an enhanced podcast:
    http://www.tranceportal.org/music/enhancedpodcast.htm
This is a great feature! And we love it. However, we're not exactly sure what makes it possible. When we load our enhanced podcast onto an iPod before it's uploaded and published on our servers, we don't see this feature at all. It only appears after the file has been downloaded through iTunes.
Does anybody know where this feature comes from? Is it part of iTunes download process? Feedburner? Pivot? Libsyn? We haven't looked deep into all these parts our podcast files are passing through yet, but thought it was worth a shot to ask here before we wasted our time doing that.
    Much thanks in advance.

There's nothing special about listing on iTunes, because you never actually upload anything about your podcast to iTunes. Maybe the iPod has to have subscribed to the file as a podcast episode for it to have the Chapter titles appear. If it's just added as an m4a file, perhaps the iPod won't see that extra bit of metadata. That's one possibility--you could test it by subscribing to the podcast directly via the "Advanced" menu, choosing "Subscribe to podcast", and adding the actual podcast feed:

  • Chapter Titles on Impoted CD

When I import a CD to iTunes and sync it with my iPhone 4, and select Albums, I see the title at the top of the screen along with the artwork, and the listing of songs below. However, when I import the audio from a video concert to which I have added song titles via a program called ChapterToolMe, I see only the title of the concert. I have to get the song titles from the Now Playing screen from the chapter icon in the upper right corner. This seems to mean the search function of the iPhone cannot see them individually, even though I can select them individually. Is there a way to get these song titles to list like an imported CD? Thanks.
