Rough cut Capacity load in Standard SOP

Hi there,
I have created some sales & production plan syncronous to sales......but when I try to see the capacity load thru View- > Capacity Situation - > Rough Cut planning- > Show
It is showing me that No Resource load exists ...... please guide me how can I see the load for the same
Regards
Kaushik

Hi,
Please maintain the settings as mentioned below. Then you can see the load.
Before you can carry out resource leveling in SOP, you must:
1.) Create a PP task list (a routing, a rate routing, or a rough-cut planning profile) for the material, product group, or characteristic values combination whose resources you want to plan.
2).Configure resources planning in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning.
3).If you use routings or rate routings to do resource leveling, define the key figure to which the resources are tied. Do this in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning under Set parameters for info structures and key figures.
4).Define the planning plant of any information structure whose plant is not uniquely identifiable (that is, either your information structure does not contain the characteristic "plant" or your rough-cut planning profile covers more than one plant). Do this in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning under Set parameters for info structures and key figures.
5).Set the default SOP plant for Sales & Operations Planning. Do this in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning under Set planning plant for SOP.
Thanks,
DV

  • PP-PI:  Rough-cut capacity

    Hi Gurus,
We are in a process industry and using descrete production. We are not using production group but we use product hierarchy.
Now we want to run rough cut capacity to check resource capacity. Can anyone send me the complete scenario to check rough-cut capacity in my environment?
    Thanks in advance.
    Shiv

    1. Create a rough cut capacity planning profile in the Tcode mc35 using the infostructure.
    2. Then create your planning data for the flexible planning  mc93
    3. then when you create the Planning data in the View Tab - y ou have the capacity situation .
    4. when you select this it will branch to the Rough cut capacity planning - then select show in that
    5. Now based onthe values that you avhe maintianed in the RCCP you can see the capacity requirement in an additional screen below your planing values.
    Check the configuration for the
Configure scheduling parameters in the SOP menu of the SPRO

  • Rough-cut Capacity Check at any level on the Plng Hierarchy ??

    Fellow Experts,
I have the following Planning hierarchy on my self-defined, consistent planning, Info structure:
MFG Plant >> Prod Family >> Materials.
Product Family is a grouping of materials by Machine Cells(Work centers). I've the data available @ the material level & the same is also auto-aggregated at the Prod Family levels. At this point I want to trigger Rough-cut capacity check at the Product Family level.
I've maintained the key-figure on the Info Structure, required data set-up on MC35, config for Scheduling parameters (to do rough-cut planning) & selection ID maintenance for Rough-cut Plng Profile to be picked up. Yet, the system keeps bumping me off with "No Resource Load exists" error.
Is there something wrong I'm doing or my expectations are incorrect?? Could someone help me out here??
    Cheers
    Anand

    HI,
Make sure the capacity planning relevant field is maintained for the Infostructure config setttings in MC7F.

  • Rough Cut Capacity Planning

    Hey all,
i wanted to configure Rough Cut Capacity Planning in such a way that
    1. i could view capacities of workcenters given that the demand (load) of planned orders could be executed in a particular period.
I accomplished this partially, meaning i could find out the bottlenecks on the workcenters but this was only on single material level, if i wanted to run this check on multiple the system, supposedly, offers me the option of using the product group, my question is, where do i view these bottlenecks on capacity IF i want to run RCCP on Multiple products.
    2. i wanted to find out exactly how much i can produce in a period, given that the external and internal procurement lead times are incorporated this is usually reffered to as Master Production Scheduling, as far as i know atleast.
kindly shed some light on these matters.
    Regards,
    Danish
PS. i've seen similar posts to this but none directly addressing these issues hence i felt the need to ask these questions seprately.

to further clarify my question i would like to see, as a result of stimulative planning (RCCP):
    1. Impact of Planning (planned order quantities) from ALL materials that were being planned on work centers used in recipes.
    2. Identification of bottlenecks, which is of course the subsequent function from point 1.
    3. Capability to produce with reference to Materials availability (lead-times being incorporated of components).

  • Rough Cut Capacity Profile

    Hello All,
I want to ask about Rough Cut Capacity Profile and how to analyse it in MC82 t-code,
I have made RCCP using MC35 for a Product Group X, where i use 2000 ton for the base qty
After that, i use MC82 t-code and than I enter the production line for just 1 month, for example i enter production value for June 2010, but for April,May and June still blank
The Problem is when i choose View --> Capacity Situation --> Rough Cut Planning --> Show, to analyse the capacity requirement,
I get that the Capacity Rqmnt value is not only in June, but also in May, Why it has to divide the calculation for 2 month? , because i just entry the production line for June, so i expect that the capacity rqmnt value is just appear in June
and How to calculate the formula for capacity rqmnt in MC82 ?
    Regards,

    Hello All,
Is there anyone who can help me?
Please, I really need to solve this problem

  • Rough Cut Planning Profile in SOP

    Hi,
Need an input on the Values keyed in to the Rough cut capacity profile? Is there any documentation on the same?
I have maintained the Time span as 1 work day and the basse quantity as 1. In the resource table, i have keyed in the work center and the unit as H. Now when i maintain a value of 1 under the first day the capacity req is 1 in SOP but when i maintain a value of 1 in day 1 and day 2- the capacity requirement doubles

  • Rough Cut Planning Profile-by Capacity category

    Hai,
I am creating Rough Cut Planning Profiles in ECC6.0 for use in Standad SOP (S076). In MC35, I don't see a place where I can enter by Work center category- like I want both Machine and Labour categories as I have different times for each category.
    { when I view the rough-cut capacity situation in MC82, system displays both categroies, but it is based on only the hours I maintained for one of the categories- how do I maintain for both categories?}
    Thank you in advance:)

Edited by: Sonali on Apr 28, 2009 3:05 PM

    Hello Sonali,
Rough cut capacity planning is used only  for bottle neck resources.Analyze your process and you will come to know for the product group or material which category or machine is bottleneck.
Create a rought cut planning profile for a production line or Workcenter or PRT or Cost(Relative cost not product cost).
PS:Roughtcut capcity planning should not be used for all the workcenters.
    Thanks,

  • Uploading data in to standard SOP?????

    Hi Gurus,
we are using standard SOP for planning the forecast of all the FG materials using MC87.
The issue is we are entering each material data manually in MC87 and then checking the rough cut capacity.
Please guide me any solution to upload the forecast values of all FG materials into MC87 automatically.
    Your suggetions are most presious!!
    Thanks in advance.
    Naveen.

    Dear A.Naveen
    Please Follow this Steps
SOP- comes from SO76 standard information structure.
    1. MC87 - create Planning for material
of if you want by product group then use these steps
MC81 - Create Planning for product group
MC84 - Create for product group
    2. MC78- copy version (Enter your inactive Version and target version as A00 and copy and save.)
    3.MC88- change version
4.MC74 - Transfer Material to Demand Management
5.MD62 - Change the Planned Independent Requirements
    5.MD02- Run MRP
    6. MD04 - Stock/Requirements List
    7. CO01 - Create production Orders with Material
and you might know the rest of the cycle
Please follow the steps to set up forecast based planning:
    1. MM01: Create the forecsast view and asign a forecast model. Under the consumtion vals enter consumtion values (unplannes or total). In the MRP 1 view, assign the MRP Type "VV" (Forecast based planning)
    2. MP30: CREATE MATERIAL FORECAST
    3: MD02: MRP Run
4: MD04: Check the Req List

  • LTP and Rough cut planning with Demand Mangment

    Hello ,
I am quite new for the planning topics.
Need help for the understanding difference between  long term planning and Rough cut planning.
I would like to know in which industry or for which process scenario we choose long term planning and Rough cut planning? Also both this planning scenario how affect or related to the Demand Management.
It will great Help if you put some example with brief process description or scenario details.
    Regards,
    Maulik

    Hi Maulik
There is also Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) which is a higher level of planning, that also allows you to create different scenarios.
Rough-cut capacity planning is used together with SOP. Here, you will generally plan at finished product level, using the sales forecast.
Long-term planning is a more operational tool, very smilar to MRP, but simulative.
SOP data can be transfered to DM and LTP can use DM data as an input.
I suggest you to read the documentation of both functionalities for a better understanding of each one:
    Rough-cut Capacity Planning:
Executing Resource Leveling - Sales & Operations Planning (LO-LIS-PLN) - SAP Library
    http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPMan/Rough-Cut+Capacity+Planning+on+SOP

  • Error while creating Rough cut planning profile

Facing the following error while creating rough cut planning profile (mc35) in SOP for product group. "Work center x plant y does not exist for task list type 3". pls advise- do i need to create tsk list for product group? pls advise with tcode to be used.

pls check the (task list ) usage you have maintained in the Work center.
In OP45 , pls ensure that for the usage ,
task list type 3 (Rough cut planning profile) is included.
If it is not included there , pls include the TL type 3 for your usage and now the prob will get solved.

  • Rough -cut plan with capacity requirment calculation

    Hi all,
We checking SOP with rough-cut plan
We created Rough-cut profile in mc35 for our bottle neck work center with base quantity -1 and time span - 1
then we selected new work center (there is no existing cap req). and assigned base unit measure:min.
and we assigned 1min for each day and saved the profile.
Now we went to mc88 and checked the material's active version production plan. (period split- DAY)
in View -> capacity situation -> rough cut planning -> show.
System calculates some capacity requirement for our production plan.
Say for tomorrow's date i given 1000 qty - production plan.
    but system showing capacity req
    Work center:  TESTWC3                  Plant: 0001         Capacity:  001
Info structur  Material          Plant   Order qty     Unit     From              To          Capacity reqmts      Unit
    S076            TESTFERT14    0001  1000.000       EA    29.01.2010  11.02.2010   9000.000              MIN
with 9000min and cap load more than 652% ( Actuallly  it has to show 1000min as per rough cut plan profile)
Our available capacity of work center per day - 1380 min
We cant understand the capacity requirement calculation in MC88..
    Help us out...
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Rough cut planning is genrally done for the group of material say product group, group of workcentre rather than individual material or workcentre.
As standard, in resource table whatever the value you enter that corresponds to no. of days. Each column represents one day.
Pl. refer this link for clear understanding of the same.

  • Rough cut planning in SOP for resource levelling

    Hello,
I am trying rough cut planning in SOP.
I have created rough cut planning profile for a product group by using MC35.
The task list exits for the product group.
In task list , work centre is maintained and the same is given while creating the rough cut profile.
This product group contains some part number.
    When I try Views--->capacity situation -> rough cut planning--->show.
    System gives error that -
    > No resource load found.
<u><b>Diagnosis given by system is as follows,</b></u>
This situation may be caused by one or more of the following:
    •     No PP task list (rough-cut planning profile, rate routing, or routing) corresponding to the Customizing selection criteria has been defined for this material/product group at this scheduling level.
    •     Resources planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    •     The information structure which you are planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    System Response
No capacity load could be determined.
    Procedure
    1. Check that a PP task list exists for this material/product group.
    2. Check that a lot size range has been maintained in the PP task list.
    3. Have your systems administrator check and, if necessary, change the resources planning settings in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning (the steps "Scheduling levels" and "Routing selection").
    4. Have your systems administrator check that capacity planning has been defined for this information structure in Customizing.
Please let me know how to maintain the resource planning settings for scheduling level and routing selection.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,
    Ravindra Deokule

    Hi Ravindra,
You can use t.code mc84 to create a product group.
Pl follow the following steps to do SOP with product group.
    1. Create a Product group in tcode MC84.
Enter a percentage for material say X & Y to be produced. X 40% & Y 60%. Total qty will be split in the ratio as per the %.
    2. Create Production Plan in tcode MC81.
    Enter the sales plan qty.
Then goto menu, edit & choose create Prodn Plan synchronus to sales.
    3. Create Rough cut Planning Profile in tcode MC35.
    4. Enter the Status ,Usage & lot size.
    5. Choose resources tab & then choose work center & enter work center name which you consider as a bottle neck & then enter the unit of measure as 'min'.
    6. Use MC82,
Choose inactive version and select your version.
    then goto menu->views> capacity situation>show
7.Check for over loads & adjust your qty acordingly.once the load becomes 100 % save.
    8. Change the inactive version to Active version in tcode MC78.
ie in the version enter the inactive version & in the target version enter'A00'
9.In mc82 choose active version, you can see that the plan is activated now.
10.In the menu choose extras & transfer to demand mgmnt.
11.You can see the requirement in the md62 transaction.
    12.Then run mrp.
Also regarding the unit of measure in t.code mc35,
If you select your resource as 'workcenter' & choose min or hour & then you enter 1(eg) in the first field against the work center. This means it takes 1 min or hour to produce 1pc(base quantity) in that particular workcenter(bottleneck workcenter)
Reg: Capacity calculation in mc87,follow the eg as above.Enter 1 min as time & base qty as 1 in mc35. Then check in mc87, you will get the load in %. ie if your work center is permitted to work for 8 hours/day & you pass a production plan of 480, then your load will match for 100%.

  • Rough cut planning & available capacity

I need one clarification, in the rough cut planning, the existing load
is not considering for available capacity. It is considering only from
    the resource capacity.
E.g : Avaialble capacity of for Resource A (today) is 24 hr
One Order is created and released for 4 hr with Resource A
As per that now my available capacity of the resource is only 20 hr
In SOP planning view, it showing as 24 hrs.
And If i am running the SOP today at 1400hrs for calculating the
resource capacity. Practically my avaialble capacity is 10hrs. But
in the system it showing as 24hrs.
How to capture the above both requirements?
    2. Through roughcut planning we can able calcualte the cost, material and
PRT availability also. But it is not coming the the SOP screen.
Is it any configuration i missed out? Help me out

    Hi!
Available capacity means the total capacity available for use in production. Presence of an requirement will not reduce the available capacity.
Regarding SOP. Check for the starting time of the order or requirement. See if you can schedule from the current time instead of start of the day.
