Round Edged boxes in rtf templates

Hi all,
I have been really struggling to design rtf templates for XML Publisher with round edged boxes.
The client requirement is to have all the tables/objects that contain data to have rounded edges..Just like a flowchart box..
I have tried using the flowchart box, but when I increase the height/width of the object, the radius of the actual round edge object increases, thus distorting the entire look of the template.
Can anyone give me some pointers on how I can overcome this issue using rtf templates.
I would have gladly done this as a PDF template, but for the issue with lack of support for conditional logic.
Any help will be truly appreciated
Thanks,
Lavina

Hi ,
You can select the number format in RTF template .Double click the Form Field select

    Hi there,
    are there any general rules for applying pictures and text boxes to rtf-templates?
    As far as I have experienced, the text boxes are not shown when generating a report. Is it generally not possible to display text boxes? Are there any work arounds?

  • Issue with ROUND function in RTF template

    Hi All,
    Can anyone please help me in implementing the ROUND function at the RTF template.
    Need to handle rounding of amounts at the RTF template level itself.
    The ROUND function should be implemented to the following tags:
    <?sum(current-group()/TAXABLE_AMOUNT)?> (Record level)
    <?sum(TAXABLE_AMOUNT)?> (Report level total)
    Eg. If the Sum(current-group()/TAXABLE_AMOUNT) for a particular record is 401.65 then it should round of to 402
    we try to do this using following syntax ..
    1) by declaring variable "value"
    <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, value, sum(current-group()/TAXABLE_AMOUNT))?>
    2) <?xdofx:round(sum(current-group()/TAXABLE_AMOUNT))?>
    3)<?xdofx:round(xdoxslt:sum(current-group()/TAXABLE_AMOUNT))?>
    but we ding get the solution.
    A quick response on this is highly appreciable.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

  • How to round numbers in RTF templates?

    Hello!
    I'm using BI Publisher for Word (Oracle BI Publisher Builder for Word 10.1.3.4.1) to build a template to my BI Publisher report and I want to calculate this:
    avg(X)/(avg(Y)-avg(Z)/0.9)
    The result should be rounded to 3 places.
    I tried:
    <?(sum(X) div count(X)) div ((sum(Y) div count(Y)) - (sum(Z) div count(Z)) div 0.9)?>
    and I obtained the expected result.
    But, when I try to round in this way:
    <?xdofx:round((sum(X) div count(X)) div ((sum(Y) div count(Y))-(sum(Z) div count(Z)) div 0.9),3)?>
    I obtain 0 when is expected other value.
    Can someone help me?

    Hi, does anyone know if Apple ever sold ipod touch 4G on rectangle clear flat box, instead of round edge clear box?

    Not a 4G. Thats something I have never seen before. But then again, the thinner 4G wouldn't be able to sit still in the case of a bulky 2nd or 3rd gen. So if it isn't sliding and its in original packaging, I would trust it. No one would go through the trouble to spend money to make a mold to stick a knockoff in a case.  I say its fine. How is it running?

    misunderstood =/
    Original (Coming - output):  "<PAY_TXT>PAYκ Contact your bank or financial institution to make this payment from your cheque, savings, debit or transaction account.</PAY_TXT>"
    it's in output but what is data in database ?
    sorry but without knowing about source data for forming the xml i haven't ideas about your problem
    in db it's "TM " or "™" or ... ?
    Original (Coming - output):  "<PAY_TXT>PAYκ Contact your bank or financial institution to make this payment from your cheque, savings, debit or transaction account.</PAY_TXT>"
    Something like XAE or "K" after PAY Value in the xml tag and continued the text value.  (Tag value is not getting copied exactly here - i am sorry for that )
    that's ok. i need to see the problem not the data as is
    Expected (output):  "Here it needs to produce the "PAY TM" (Here "TM" should be super scripted to "PAY" Value in tag).
    as super scripted in xml?
    as idea - you can have <PAY_TXT>PAY TM</PAY_TXT> and in publisher set TM as super

  • Rtf Templates created with BI Publisher 11.1.1.3.0 not working in APEX

    I created templates using BI Publisher v10 Desktop that I used to create Report Layouts in APEX and everything worked just fine. However, I've upgraded to BIP 11.1.1.3.0 Desktop and the rtf templates don't work. I suspect that the problem is with the graphs.
    Is there something in my APEX environment that needs to be upgraded or modified to be compatible with the BIP v11 templates? Are templates created with BIP v11 compatible with APEX Reporting?

    I'm having a similar issue with 11.1.1.3.0
    My RTF templated uploaded to APEX correctly, and seems to load and generate ok. The OUTSIDE formatting on the report (title, etc) all seem to show fine, but the actual repeating data block doesn't show any of the data or columns or boxes..... Just the column headers.
    VERY FRUSTRATING......

  • RTF templates and word cell padding.

    Hi.
    I'm having a problem with numbers in an XML Publisher report. Generated RTF templates don't seem to retain the cell padding properties.
    Has anyone got any suggestions on how to get round this?
    Thanks.
    Steve.

    Well there appears to be a bug in the RTF generator.
    It appears that Oracle want to use paragraph left and right indentation properties to pad text in cells away from cell borders. There is a bug in the rtf reader in word that causes problems if cell padding properties are used so paragraph indentation appears a sensible work round.
    By default there appears to be a left hand indentation of 5 applied to all paragraphs in cells. If a left hand cell maring is applied to cells then the left hand cell margin in the report increases in size.
    However, right hand cell margins appear to be ignored and NOT written as attributes to cell paragraph text in the the generated report, and this causes problems when trying to print an RTF report as numbers in cells get clipped by cell borders.

  • RTF Templates and report file (.xdo)

    Hi all,
    I use Oracle report and I would like to migrate from that software to Oracle BI Publisher. During my tests, I encountered various problems like the following:
    I create my report (.xdo file is generated) in development with one RTF template. I load my template in the report and the system copy the rtf file is the same directory as the .xdo file. Also, the system modify the .xdo file to add a line like:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    When my report and template are ok, I update my customer to install them in production mode. When they are installed, my customer would modify the RTF template so he duplicates the RTF template, modify the file and load it in the report. Now, in the report, I have two lines:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    <template label="stkcinv2" type="rtf" url="stkcinv2.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    For my part, I modify the report in development to add a new value in the datamodel. Then I update another time my customer and erase the standard report by the new.
    the problem is that doing that, if I look at the .xdo file, I see that in the <templates> section, I have:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    So the templates loaded in the .xdo file is lost and my customer must reload it in the new report. If my customer has 100 reports, each time I update the soft, he will have to reload all templates... Amazing...
    How can I do to avoid that problem ?

  • Trouble with Group By in RTF Template

    Hello All,
    I'm very new at RTF Template building, and I've spent hours trying to figure this out with no avail. I'm using BIP Desktop add-in for Word to load in my XML data and create some tables and charts. Right now I'm able to create a detail level table on the RTF, but I want to also create a summary level table. The summary table is where I get stuck, as I can't get my group by statements to work. I've tried to insert a table/form and use the table wizard, but neither work.
    My detail level table has customer and shipments (among a few other noncritical fields). I just want a summary table to show customer and total number of shipments (simple count function). Right now, my output looks something like this:
    Customer     Customer
    Brian Jones     Shipment
         1
         1
         1
         1
         1
         1
         1
         1
         1
    So it groups by the customer fine, but doesn't actually count the shipments. It assigns a 1 for each shipment number, but doesn't actually count the fields to give a Brian - 9.
    Again, I'm very new at this, so this might be very basic. Also, if there are any good resources on RTF template building, I'd love some help on learning to do this stuff better.
    Thanks!
    Alex

    Don't you want to actually find the sum of the shipments to give you a count of shipments for the customer? Have you tried using the sum function for your shipments field?
    You could insert the shipment field, select function sum (from the drop-down menu) and check the 'On grouping' box..
    Send me your template and sample XML to [email protected] if you would like.

    I can include a complete sample on request, I thought this would be enough to illustrate the issue.
    I'll appreciate any help you can provide.

    I kept researching, I found some possible solution in this blog:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/category/Oracle/Templates/RTF
    so, I created a local SITE variable inside every cell to get the external SITE info:
    <Cell>
    <xsl:variable name="DIMID" select="DIMID"/>
    <xsl:variable name="SITE" select="{xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'SITE')}"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="/DATA/SITE/SITE_DATA[DATAGROUPID = $SITE]/YEAR[SURVEYYEAR = 2012]/DIM[DIMID = $DIMID]/ITEM[ITEMID = 0 and PUNFAV != 0]/PFAV"/>
    </Cell>
    but I get this error at run time:
    oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XPathException: Error in expression: '{xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'SITE')}'.
        at oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLProcessor.reportException(XSLProcessor.java:806)

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Not able to use @section and Sort within a group in RTF Template

    When i try to use sort with for-each-group@section in my template, the Output Post processor is throwing the following exception
    Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLException: <Line 31, Column 84>: XML-22047: (Error) Invalid instantiation of 'xsl:sort' in 'fo:flow' context.
    My tags in the RTF template are as below:
    <?for-each-group@section:G_PERSON_ID;./DEPT?><?sort:DEPT;'ascending';data-type='text'?>
    -- there are 2 more groups within this.
    <?end for-each-group?>
    I don't get the error if i remove @section from the above tag in my RTF template.
    OR
    IF i remove the sort tag and keep the @section , it still works.
    I need the "sort" so that i can sort the output by department number and I need the "section" so that i can acheieve context based header title for the page using the tag given below in the header area of the word RTF doc. The DEPT number should change as per the data shown in the report.
    DEPT <?DEPT?> CLASSIFICATION SENIORITY LISTING BY CLASS CODE & DATE
    I am stuck with either being able to use the Sort or the Header feature but not both.
    I guess that section is needed for the context based header title to work, because all the data shown in the current page should correspond to only one single DEPT value (to make the Header title consistent with the data). But i dont get why i am not able to sort. The exception from OPP simply beats me. Please help!!
    I am using the XML Pub Desktop 5.6.2 to develop my templates.
    Is there any way to acheive this? Can someone throw some light on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Help About says I'm on 20.0.1
    Up until last week, I was able to use the tab key when typing emails and other multi-line text boxes.
    Suddenly the behavior of the tab key changed. This isn't the first time. It's been quite a while ago that the function of the tab key changed from indenting to moving around the page, then after some time it changed back to indenting.
    Can we get this fixed and leave it alone, please?
    I may give one of those add-ins a try, but my problem with add-ins is that they break when FF is patched or upgraded, then I'm left with out the solution they provide.
    Can we just fix Firefox, please?
    Thanks,
    Frank
    P.S. Another potential fix I came across suggested starting FF in safe mode to see if the problem goes away. It does not. It seems to be a change to FF that appeared after an update last week. On or just befor 24 Apr.

  • Reg. Autoshapes from .rtf template not printing

    Hi:
    I am using a RTF template to produce the XML output.
    When I upload it to Apps the autoshapes e.g Line, Box, ellipse etc.;don't show at the position that they were created on the template or they show only partially at another part of the document and/or they don't repeat on every page.
    Has anyone had this issue before?
    Or is there a setup that I am missing that would rectify this issue?
    Thanks
    Sri

  • Relative path for images in RTF templates

    Hi everybody!
    When I insert an image in a RTF template, I put its path into the web dialog, in order to see correctly the picture when I open the report from the xmlp server, in this way: url:{"http://servername/analytics/res/Images/image.bmp"}
    How can I make this path relative, in order to see the images even if the server name changes?
    Thanks so!
    Francesco

    Hi Tim,
    I am using BIP 10.1.3.3.2. I am able to access system variable CURRENT_SERVER URL.
    Steps:
    <?param@begin:CURRENT_SERVER_URL?>
    <xsl:value-of select="$ CURRENT_SERVER_URL"/>
    CURRENT_SERVER_URL is getting printed in BI Publisher. Value displayed is http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/xmlpserver.
    Now we are importing xsl into RTF template. File aaa.xsl is stored at [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app]
    We have hardcoded the path for XSL in RTF. The path is <?import: http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/aaa.xsl?>
    As we want to set dynamic path we changed hardcoded xsl path to <?import: {$CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/../aaa.xsl?> but it is not working. Sometimes BIP is taking local path of MyDocuments folder and sometimes Desktop path. If I put that XSL file in MyDocuments folder or Desktop, it is working fine. But ideally it should refer [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app] path...
    Thanks,
    Amit D
