Rounded Corners are gone Since Leopard

I just installed OS 10.4 on an old 3G ipod to put a copy of iDefrag (to boot from), and when I booted into 10.4, I noticed that the default OS screen has rounded corners!
Apple done away with these rounded corners in 10.5 Leopard! Why?
Has anyone else noticed this? I have never seen a post anywhere about the subject.
I want my rounded corners back! It felt very "Mac!"
-Mark

There is a small utility called Displaperture that will give you back the rounded corners.

Mail application is still there. All of my emails and folders are gone since iCloud. How can I get them back using Snow Leopard? Or can I? Do I have to wait for Mountain Lion?

I need to check a few other things...
Click on 'Mail' in the upper left corner next to the Apple ()
    Click Preferences
    Click the 'Accounts' tab
Make sure your iCloud account is highlighted in the column on the left.
In the account information section what does it say next to:
    Incoming Mail Server?
    Outgoing Mail Server?
Also, did you use MobileMe before the iCloud?

  • All emails from aug2014 to present are gone since upgrading to Yosemite

Since upgrading to Yosemite, all my emails from aug2014 to present are gone from Mail.  Help!

It seems very unlikely that the upgrade would actually have deleted files. Mail is stored in <yourusername>/LibraryMail.
    Exit Mail (Cmd-Q).
Go to that folder (in Finder, hold the option key while clicking the Go menu item to reveal the Library) and make a copy of all the subfolders somewhere (just in case).
Reopen Mail, go to the offending mailbox (Inbox, I guess) and do Mailbox, Rebuild. Cross fingers; wait a few minutes.
Another route is to (having made the copy above and closed Mail) to go to the Maildata subfolder in /Library/Mail and trash the Envelope files.
    Hope this helps.
If possible, see if you can switch to Imap - then at least your server will retain copies of all the messages

  • Keyboard shortcuts are gone since Yosemite upgrade

I use a large number of keyboard shortcuts (the ones accessed in System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Text).
Since the upgrade to Yosemite, the personal ones I've created (and which are still visible in the menu) do not work any longer.
The default ones from Apple, however, still function properly.
What do I have to do to get these working again?
I've tried obvious things like re-creating the personal ones. No go.
Thanks for any help on this.

    ½ ¼
You can add the ½ ¼ to your own shortcuts and then use them like before:
To enter the shortcut use the character viewer:
¼ etc. are in the Basic Latin section of the unicode table:

  • Illustrator File Previews are gone Since updating to CC 2014

I know that this has been a problem with previous versions of Illustrator as well, but I am still unsure if there is any fix that I can do on my end or not. I use to be able to preview all of my .ai files with Windows Explorer in Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, but since the CC 2014 update I have no previews at all. I know that I can preview files in Bridge, but that really doesn't fit my needs. I do over 3,000 jobs a year dating back 10+ years so searching for previous jobs with no preview is now a pain.
Does anyone know of a fix, or do I have to wait forever for an Adobe update of some sort? Anyone else having this problem?

So I'm the only person this has affected?

  • Finder - "Today" and "This Week" views are gone since Lion

Right now it's frustrating me a little when trying to find a recent file because the "Today" and "This Week" viewing option that used to appear in the left column of Finder dissappeared since updating to Lion.
    Any solutions?
    TIA

Rather less work just to make a couple of quick smart folders yourself, no?

  • My Contacts are gone since I deleted and reentered email accounts

Our email accounts were having issues sending messages so I deleted both accounts then added them again. Now our Contacts are missing, however, when we enter an email address it is still somewhere but when we tap on the Contacts icon there is nothing there.

Did you have a backup of them in Time Machine or iTunes?  If so, restore them.  That's why they very clearly ask you to back up your information before setting up iCloud and before upgrading to iOS 5.
If not, check at icloud.com to see if they are located here.  If they are not, try Apple Support through Express Lane (https://expresslane.apple.com) and see if they have the ability to restore them.  Just don't expect them to.

  • HT201210 I just finished the new update (which took 7 hours to complete by the way) and now ALL my pictures, apps, and notes, etc. are gone since June 2013. HELP

  • Settingup rounded corners background image

I need some help in setting up a background image that is in three pieces. Its a rounded corners background that will have text overlay in top rounded corner section, regualr text in middle area, and footer text in bottom rounded corners area. I will ahve two of these side by side.
So if I had a tables layout, it would be 2 column 3 rows. One rounded conrer set for each column.
I think Ive seen a tutorial on this somewhere but cant seem to find it. Thank you for any suggestions or pointers.
p.s. Im trying to use css for this. I tried laying out with tables, but there is a white gab in between each image. I know tables are considered taboo, so Im trying to steer away from them if possible.

The button tab is kinda correct, but IM not looking for buttons, Im looking for an actual text box with rounded corners. I was trying to cut up the rounded corner box so I can insert a paragraph or two of text in it and not have to used a large solid image as background.
Hope this clarifies. Ill try to look for a site that has this in place and post a link back.

  • Nec 3550a won't open.  obstructed by round corners

I just installed a nec 3550a dl dvd burner in the lower bay. It won't open because the rounded corners are just barely obstucting it. I can't be the only one who has had this problem. I thought I would post this before I shut down my cpu and try putting it in the upper bay. maybe it will fit better. If not i guess i will have to remove those corner pieces. It would be great if somone could help me. Thanks in advance.

So the upper tray doesn't work either.
I am not sure what you mean by "The front "door" must be removed from the drive's tray". Do you mean the siver face(on the outside of machine)? Maybe i was not clear as to what the problem is. The slot that the dvd tray slides through is too small. The slot being part of the external of the machine not attached to the internal optical drive carrier. The roundeed cornes of the top part of that gap are causing the problem. If they were stratight corners I would have no problem.
Do you mean remove the face that covers both optical drives(on the outside front of the machine)? So they aren't covered and cd/ dvd traces dont have to slide through those gaps. They will be breathing freely sort to speek.
    Thanks wwjd

  • My reminders are gone from my Ical since upgrade.  What do I need to do to input reminders in Ical and be able to print reminders with my ical.  Thank you

My reminders are gone from my Ical since upgrade.  What do I need to do to input reminders in Ical and be able to print reminders with my ical.  Thank you

I totally agree.  I just wasted .5 hrs trying to figure out how to manipulate and sync the reminders with the iCAl.  Thanks for posting this thread online, I can stop wasting my time now.  Apple, please change it back or make these apps sync.
Side note.  I was creating my to do list and found the ability to asign a date by draging the task to the calendar in the bottom right.  Then I discovered that I can drag that same reminder/to-do task into iCal and it will be created as an event. Would be great if I could simply sync the reminders to iCal instead of draging them over though.  Then when I make the change in one the other can update with the next sync.  This also prevents human error if I drag and drop the reminder onto the wrong date in iCal.

    Hi stanlaw,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The information below should help you with this.
Associating and verifying email addresses with your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68
How to verify the primary email address for your Apple ID
When you first create an Apple ID (using your email address) a verification email will be sent to that address. If you sign in to your Apple ID from the link in that email, the email address will be verified as the primary email address for your Apple ID. You can also resend the email verification if the email address is not verified:
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. Click Resend under Primary Email Address.
    3. Verify your changes by following the link in the email you will receive from Apple and signing back in to your account.
I hope this information helps ....
    Happy Holidays!

  • When I opened iphoto this morning all my photos since April 2013 are gone. My desktop picture is still current but I can't find my pictures.

When I opened iphoto this morning all my photos since April 2013 are gone. My desktop picture is still current but I can't find my pictures.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run  Option #4 to rebuild the database
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
    or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library. Select the checkbox to include orphaned photos.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • I deleted one of the email accounts from my i5 because I don't like all the password popups since upgradingto ios 7.2, and now ALL calendar entries are gone!  I need them!!!  Can anyone help?

I deleted one of the email accounts from my i5 because I don't like all the password popups since upgradingto ios 7.2, and now ALL calendar entries are gone!  I need them!!!  Can anyone help?

Well you need to add the email account back to get the calendar entries. Transfer them to another email provider.  Then delete the account you don't want.

  • Upgraded to Leopard and now Stickies are gone

I just updated to Leopard and now my stickies are gone. The Stickies program is there but the stickies I had previously created are gone. Are they hidden somewhere?

This is my exact question. I had my stickies disappear twice, once when my computer panicked while in stickies and again when I migrated to Leopard. I've tried looking in the "Package Contents" but with no success. I've also looked for any trace of the stickies from Dashboard, and no luck with that either. SOmeone has to know where the actual text of the stickies are stored, and hopefully the user can access them.
    Anyone know?
