Rounded edges on graphics

I'm making some graphics in AP CS2, and finding myself using everything but the kitchen sink to accomplish this. I'm using the elliptical marquee tool (with shift) and after that the rectangular marquee tool to mark the rest, then inverse my selection and press delete to remove the corner, only after i copied the graphics to a transparent layer. Is there a better or easyer way of accomplishing this?

There is a Rounded Rectangle Tool on the shapes tools flyout which contains Rectangle Tool (not Rectangular Marquee Tool). It can draw paths, Shape layers and pixel layers. A path can be converted to a selection by a button at bottom of Paths panel or by right-clicking the path and picking Make Selection.

Need to crop with rounded edges

I am a novice and purchased Elements 2.0 a couple of years ago so that I can adjust pictures to post on our web site. Very simply, I want to take a rectangle picture and round the edges off. I have spent hours pouring through the help files and playing, but can not determine how to do this simple thing. Is this even possible with this version?

Wow you guys are awesome to help me out. I am caught up with you and I now have a picture with rounded corners. Took me a bit as I had to use Help a couple of times to figure out how to get the trash can up, and determine where the ctrl-click really was supposed to happen. I also think I figured out that I needed to use Select - Inverse vs. Invert. Then again that may have been my mistake. I now have a nice picture with round edges and a white retangle around it. If I save this and try to put on my web site, will it not look just like that with the white space? Or have I asked my limit of questions today? :-)

Should I use a L& F for that?Yes, this is recommended. You can find many free and very good L&F's and some of them can have rounded edges of Textfields.
One of the best L&F freely available is [Substance L&F|https://substance.dev.java.net/]. Try it out.

ok, what i need to know is to make a round edges on my pic2 (which is as you can see, plain rectangle)
i would like to have pic2 to look like the first pic i post.
in the pic1, i don't need to make a round edges on it, just the pic2
i'm sorry the instruction is not quite clear. maybe i should rephrase it just to make sure that what i understood is correct.

1) I will open the pic1 and then make duplicate the whole Layer by : Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontal, add a Layer Mask (Is this correct?)
2) And then I open the pic2 (I'm not sure what to do now after opening the pic2 - rectangle picture, do I have to apply the clipping mask here?)

Feathered edges on graphics within Keynote 6.1?

Is there a way to create feathered edges on graphics within Keynote 6.1 without bringing it in from another program? I know I can use Photoshop or some other program to create the mask but it seems there should be an easy way to do this from within Keynote. It seems the only masking available has hard edges.

Quicker, easier and better results in Photoshop.
You could use borders but not very convincing, select the image then:
Format Inspector > Style > Border > line > then select a line type from the dropdown menu and reduce opacity

If you round edges of objects, they should be rounded when you save the document, and when you open it again.

Rounded Edges for submenu items

I have a vertical menu with a submenu. The top level buttons have rounded edges. I cannot get the submenu buttons to show rounded edges. The submenu buttons have the color/text/state modifications working fine. It is the rounded edges I am having trouble getting to work.
User error or bug?

This should work but make sure while rounding the corner , Sub Menu Item is selected not the sub menu.

TOC - Rounded Edges in V7

Hi There,
I upgraded a previous project from v5 to v7. This project uses an aggregator. I noticed that the navigation bar used to have rounded edges and now it doesn't.
Is there a setting I forgot to set or is this no longer offered in v7>
Here is the menu in v5 (also this looks the same in V6):

TOC changed in CP7, to adapt to mobile devices. I agree, on desktop screens it doesn't always look that nice.

Rough Edges on Graphics

I have a vector graphic which was created in Adobe Illustrator which looks rough in After Effects. Zooming in Illustrator and Photoshop results in crisp clean edges which is what I want.
When I place the graphic in my AE composition the edges are rough.
I have 'continuously rasterize' turned on but the graphic is still rough.
Toggling 'pixel aspect ratio correction, makes it look clean.
I have tried creating different sized graphics with correct and incorrect aspect ratios but that doesn't work either.
I have checked the output on a TV monitor but it looks the same.
I am using CS3 on a Mac running OS 10.6.2
The video file and comp are DVCPRO 720 (1.33)
I just want my graphics to look as crisp as they do in Ai and Photoshop

I thought I'd tried exporting but it must have been the only thing I hadn't done.
After exporting, the graphics do look much cleaner.
It's a shame that you can't see the full quality in the AE viewer so that you can be sure as you go along what you are creating is what you want. It would save a lot of time doing test exports.

Rough edges of graphic after exporting

I have been using this product (FW) for some time now, but I
have'nt been able to find solution to this problem. I usually edit
my images/graphics before I export it to Flash for animations. The
proplem is when I remove a background of my graphic and I export it
to Flash the edges are never smooth and often look very crooked.
I wil be glad if anybody can help me deal with this problem
once and for all time.

Creating Rounded edges on borders

Can anyone help, I want to create a table just to put a
piccture and some text in, but I want to round the corners of the
table/box.
Can you do this in Contribute or can it be done in Photoshop

Hi Mark,
Draw a rounded rectangle, and then place the image on top of
it. Cut the
image to the clipboard (Edit > Cut), and then click on the
rounded
rectangle to select it. Choose Edit > Paste Inside.

Rounded edges on an image - how to reproduce

Hi there.
We got a designer to create some banner files for us. The only problem we are having is reproducing what they did with the below image (curved/rounded upwards at the top and bottom). This was done to the actual image file (with no white circles etc...), but for the life of me cannot reproduce this onto an other image. I know i can drag and drop an image straight into it and it will fill the area, but i'm just intregued on how it was actually created. Any help would be fantastic!

Since this is an Indesign forum, I suppose you want to do that in Indesign. There you just deform the object frame of the image. Very easy.
Of course, if you wan to apply that on the image itself, you need something like Photoshop and modify a mask.

I am making iPhone 6 mock-up for first time. I used gradient overlay to get the lightes spots along vertical sides, but how can I do the same with the edges?
