Rounding wilst using Pop-up Menu's

Hi,
Is there a way to stop numbers rounding the numbers imputed by a Pop-up menu ?
Thanks
sampether

May you give more details.
I tried with a popup whose
item 1 is 1.2345
item 2 is 2.3456
item 3 is 3.4567
and I got no rounding at all.

  • Where do I find the "use" pop-up menu to complete install

    I am installing HP Officejet Pro 6830.  Have followed all instructions and am in the "Add printer" step. I selected the "bonjour multifunction" entry and hit add.  It then did a quick progress bar and goes back to the Add Printer window.   Step 3 states "Open the Use (or Print Using) pop-up menu and choose your printer's Model name.   How do I get to the pop-up menu?

    Hi @Tricia10 ,
    I see that you are having issues adding the printer. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.
    I have provided a screen shot for where to click on the drop down to select the printer from the list.
    If it isn't listed, install the software for your operating system, you might need to run the Apple Updates.
    HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers.
    If you already have, Reset the Printing System on the Mac and try again.
    Reset the Printing System:
    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
    Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
    Click OK to confirm the reset.
    Type the correct Name and Password.
    Click OK to reset the printing system.
    Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.

  • Using pop-up menu to fill another sheet

    Although I am certain the answer to this question is posted somewhere, I can't find it.
    I am trying to create a school budget spreadsheet. Each row has a pop-up menu where I designate which class the purchase is for.
    I want to populate the class' spread sheet with the information automatically once I choose the class in the pop-up menu.
    for example:
    If Class A buys $250 worth of books, I add it to my general spread sheet: Column A =type Column B=Date, Column C= Description, Column D=Category, Column E=Class(POP-UP), Column F=Amount, and Column G= Balance.
    When I fill in the info and choose Class A in the pop-up. Once this happens the specific sheet for Class A automatically updates with the same information.
    I hope I am making this clear.
    Thanks for your help!!
    Conrad

    Hi Conrad,
    Here's your tables, using the method described in the discussion I linked to earlier. The table containing the selected cell is "Class C"
    I used two header rows in the Data table to allow entering a starting balance outside the body rows of the table, and zero header columns. The other four tables have one header row and zero header columns ("Basic" in the Table button).
    I moved the popup cells to column A. They are not needed in the individual class tables, and moving them avoids the complications of interrupting the range of cells to be transferred to the individual class tables.
    The Date columns contain actual dates; the format was chosen to allow for narrow columns so the screen shot would be narrow enough to not cause left-right scrolling to be required in the discussion thread.
    There are only two 'working' formulas, one in Test, the other in each of the Class tables.
    In Test:
    A2: =IF($Class=A$1,ROW(),65537)
    Fill right into columns B and C.
    Fill down to last row of Test.
    Note: Test must contain at least as many rows as does Data.
    In Class A:
    A2: =IFERROR(OFFSET(Data :: $A$1,SMALL($'A',(ROW())-1)-1,COLUMN()+0),"")
    Note: After entering the formula, and before filling it right and down, Select this table in the left side bar and press command-D to make duplicates for each class.
    Fill the formula right into columns B to E.
    Fill down to last row in the table.
    Note: Each table needs enough rows to include all purchases. Rows can be added, and the formulas filled down at any time.
    Other Classes:
    For each other class, change " $'A' " in the formula to match the column in Test for that class, then Fill right and Fill down.
    For an explanation of the functions used, see the iWork Functions and Formulas User Guide, available via the Application (Numbers) menu in Numbers.

  • Strange Navigation Issues After Using Pop-up Menu

    I have a Blu-ray project I'm working on.  It's 1920x1080 resolution.
    I have a main menu and then seven sub-menus as chapter-selection menus for three different videos.
    The Main Menu has four buttons.  Button one is a highlights video, button two takes the user to the first of three chapter-selection menus for the first video.  Button three takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the second video and button four takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the third video.  I have transitions from the main menu to each of the three chapter-selection menus and back from any of the seven chapter-selection menus to the main menu.
    I also have a pop-up menu with the same four buttons on it as the main menu, except that the top button takes you to the main menu rather than playing the highlights video.
    The problem I have is that all of the navagition works fine when moving around the menus, unless you open the pop-up menu during a video and navigate to one of the chapter-selection menus.  When you do this, it works.  It goes to the first page of the chapter-selection menu for any of the three videos, but if you then go to the main menu from there (each chapter-selection menu has a "back to main menu" button on it), it will play the transition, but then jump you to one of the chapter-selection menus for the video who's chapter-selection menu you were just on.
    For example:  If I play the highlights video and while it's playing I open the pop-up menu and choose Video 3, it will take me to the first chapter-selection menu for Video 3.  If, once that menu comes up, I then scroll down to the "Back to Main Menu" button on that page and choose it, the transition from that menu to the Main Menu will play, but after it finishes, the Blu-ray will jump to the last chapter-selection menu page for Video 3.  If I then navigate back to menu page 1 of the chapter-selection menus for Video 3 and choose the exact same "Back to Main Menu" button, the transition will play again and this time the Main Menu will open up.
    The links for all of the menu buttons are correct, I've check them numerous times.  It just seems that they get screwed up after you've navigated somewhere from the pop-up menu.
    Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to try to explain it as best as possible.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hey Shark.  I read your explanation of what's happening, but I am not sure why you are having that weird navigation issue.  There are a lot of weird anomalies that happen with Encore authored blu-rays, and things that just don't work that really should.  For the price, it does the job, but there are limitations.
    Last year when I started using it for blu-ray authoring, there were non-stop road blocks and things to overcome.
    Check out the documented misery.  It gets better at the end  .

  • Auto-Filling a Cell using Pop up Menu

    What I am trying to do is have a cell (B2) automatically fill with a value that is relevant to the item that I choose from a pop-up menu cell (A2). For example, the pop up menu contains a list of items for sale (Apples, Oranges and Bananas). Apples are $1 each, Oranges are $2 each and Bananas $3. If I choose Oranges in A2, I want B2 to automatically fill with $2.
    I have tried by creating a 2nd table with the items in column A and the prices in column B, but my Formulas have not been accurate in pulling the data over correctly. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thank you.

    Easy one. Example for three items (Column A is usually a header so I'm not using it here):
    Pulldown in cell B2 has apples, bananas, oranges
    You'll have a 2-column x 3 row table, I'll use cells D8:E10
    apples $1
    bananas $5
    oranges $3
    Cell C2 = LOOKUP(B2,D8:E10)

  • Reference pop-up menu

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create an auto generating invoice with NUMBERS. I've a list of services (virus removal, diagnostic, tuneup..etc) and a list of prices for those service. On the Invoice sheet under A1, I want to be able to choose from a pop-up menu one of these services AND automatically generate the price under B1.
    I'm guessing I would need two separate sheets: one to pull info from, and one to design the invoice on and generate the data.
    I just don't know how to: build sheet1 to make prices correspond to their services since they are on different lists
    or how to build sheet2 in a way to pull the data from sheet1 using pop-up menu to be displayed in A including the prices to be displayed in B automatically.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi us_heart,
    Two Tables. Price List (with made-up prices) and Invoice. Pop-up menu is Cell A2 of Invoice.
    Formula in Cell A2 (oops, B2) of Invoice table is:
    =VLOOKUP(A2,Price List :: A:B,2)
    Now you can make the Invoice table look pretty.
    In Numbers, click on the Function Button in the Toolbar to see details of functions.
    The Number'09 User Guide is a good read. Available from the Help Menu in Numbers.

    Ian.

  • Using COUNTIF on time values in pop-up menu (employee schedule template)

    I have modified the Numbers employee schedule template to my liking and it works very well. I would like to add a column to the beginning which shows, at a glance, how many people I have scheduled for AM shifts and PM shifts on a given day. My AM shifts start at 9:00 AM and my PM shifts end at 6:30 or 8:30 PM.
    So I thought I could use COUNTIF, but after I set the array, I cannot get the condition right to return anything except "0". How do you make it detect the appropriate times? The times in each cell for In and Out times are selected using a pop-up menu, just like the template.
    Here is what I tried: =COUNTIF(E3:AE3,"9:00 AM")
    What should the condition be to return a proper count?

    ac,
    You shouldn't feel badly about having trouble with this template. It is a rather tricky one. The values in the Pop-Up menus are Date/Time values. That is to say, they have year, month, day, hour and minute components, even if only the hours and minutes are displayed. So if you only compare to the hours and minutes, you will never get a match.
    I don't know if you have experienced this yet, but when you changed the Pop-Up menu content, you probably entered the current year, month and day unknowingly and will have trouble doing math against the Pop-Up content that was originally in the template.
    My suggestion in your case would be to convert the time references to decimal hours before doing a comparison. For instance, if the time you wish to compare to is in cell C4, you could extract the decimal hours with =HOUR(C4)+MINUTE(C4)/60
    Remember that the hours will reflect a 24-hour day, so times in the afternoon will run from 12.0 to 23.99...
    Then after converting to decimal, instead of using "9:00 AM" for the COUNTIF criteria, use 9.
    There are probably ways to do this using the Duration format as well, but I prefer the decimal hours.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using COUNTIF formula using controlled data in cell pop-up menu

    I'm making a spread sheet that involves adding up the number of times a certain item occurs in a log. A pop-up menu is used in the cell to control the inputs of the log. I'm not sure how to go about using the COUNTIF function to count the number of times each item occurs. The "workout tracker" template in Numbers '09 does what I need to do when counting the "number of days exercised", but I don't understand how it was done. Can anyone explain this to me?
    My log table is: (Dashes denote spacing)
    Date---------Log Item-----Time
    01/03/09---Item 1-------9:00am
    02/03/09---Item 2-------12:15pm
    03/03/09---Item 3-------9:10am
    (you can only chose Item 1, 2 or 3 from a drop down list, you can't manually input anything else)
    I want to use a countif command for a table that is:
    -----------No. of Occurances
    Item 1-------1
    Item 2-------1
    Item 3-------1

    I'm guessing you are curious about the way they did COUNTIF and what "Indicator" is. If you unhide all columns in the Workouts table, you'll see a column D with the header "indicator". The reference to "Indicator" in the COUNTIF functions refers to the entire column. There is a fairly long formula in the cells of that column but, basically, it just populates it with 1-3 depending on what you pick in the Activity popup.

  • Using a conditional pop-up menu for creating an order form...

    I am trying to create an order form on Numbers (version 2.0.1) using my iPad. My idea is to create a pop-up menu that would contain a number of products (about 50 or so). I'd copy this pop-up menu on all the cells in the column under "Description". That part is no problem. BUT ... ideally when a product is selected from the pop-up menu, I would like for its price to automatically populate the corresponding cell under "Unit Price". Obviously the various products will have various prices. For example, I might have three products listed as "Assorted Miniatures" which cost $5 each; "Animal Pot" which costs $10; and "Geometric Pot" which costs $15. Can this be done???
    If and when that is accomplished, then I presume I can easily apply the basic formulas to get total amounts. All of this means that once completed the only thing I really need to do is select products and then all the pricing and total amounts are automatically listed and calculated. Can someone assist? I have a show coming up this weekend and I hope to fill out lots of order forms!!! :-)  Thank you!!!

    MicMac22,
    Here is my take. Lookup table as Wayne suggests.
    Popup menu is a great idea.
    description
    quant
    unit price
    total Amt
    Item 2
    $2.00
    Item 1
    $1.00
    My entry table would look like yours.
    item
    price
    item 1
    $1.00
    item 2
    $2.00
    item 3
    $3.00
    Table 2 is your lookup table.
    The formula in your entry table unit price is pasted into row 2 and copied down.
    IFERROR(OFFSET(Table 2::$A$1,MATCH(A2,item,0)−1,1,,),"")
    This says find the match of entry in A2 in item column in table 2 return the value in the column 1 over. If error return nothing ("").
    Will this work for you?

  • Help using right-click to display text in the console/call a pop-up menu

    Hi folks,
    I hope someone can help me with this problem because, to be honest, I cannot see where I'm going wrong!
    Basically, I'm trying to create a routine to display a bit of text in the console (and, if I can get this to work, call a pop-up menu) if a user clicks on an image panel (which I've already created and works fine). My code for this is as follows:
    // --- Rest of program here
    this.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter()
    public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e)
    // This bit works fine
    if (e.getClickCount()>=2)
    // Display a dialog box if the user double clicks on the panel
    else if (e.isPopupTrigger())
    System.out.println("Right mouse button clicked")
    // Rest of program in hereThe problem is that, despite my best efforts, "Right mouse button clicked" does not display in the console if the right mouse button is clicked, and I cannot figure out why. I can, however, get it to work PARTIALLY if I use e.isControlDown(), but this only works (I guess) if the user is working on a Mac but isn't using an external mouse. Not ideal.
    I'm developing on a Mac (10.4.8) using Eclipse (rather than a PC), but this surely cannot be the problem?

    Do you start this application in a console window?
    If yes then isPopupTrigger() is never true - presumably mouseClicked gets called.
    If no then please note that java does not 'pop' a console window when System.out is called. System.out represents an existing output connection. If you want to pop some sort of console then you need to add code to do that.

  • What function would you use instead of "IF" when referencing durations from a pop-up menu. Ie; if c4 equals 1h enter 280, if c4 equals 30m enter 160, etc. IF works fine if c4 is formatted as text but returns 0 when formatted as pop-up.

    What function similar to IF would one use when the reference cell is a pop-up menu of items in duration format?
    Example: if C4 equals 1h enter 280, if C4 equals 30m enter 160, etc
    i can get it to work fine if I format the cell to text but I not only need it pop-up, I also need it to be written in duration format because it's used as duration in other functions.
    thank you for your help in advance
    Christina

    Hi Christina,
    A screenshot is always helpful.
    C4 is your popup? You want to chose a duration there and have 280 or 160 show up somewhere else? Are they the results of a mathmatical formula or do you want a lookup table to show them?
    I suspect something else is going on in your table. I have no trouble having a popup recognized as a duration:
    The formula in C2  =DUR2MINUTES(B2) displaying "60" as expected. Note that "60" is not a duration. If I want C2 to be a duration I need the formula to read:
    =DUR2MINUTES(B2)&"m".
    I hope this helps, if not, post a screenshot including relevant formulas.

  • I want to keep a Pop Up Menu blank when not used?

    I've got a spread sheet that in several cells that I have a Pop Up Menu assigned and the first menu shows up in the cell in all of the cells for the Pop Up Menu. What I'd like to have is to keep those cells blank with no text or anything unless I click on the cell and use the Pop Up Menu.
    Hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to do here.

    Todd,
    Your new question can be construed as, sort of, similar if you use the Conditional Format route.
    Select all the cells where you want to have this effect, and set a Conditional Fornat where "Equal To: 0" results in Text Color of the same as your cell background Fill, usually White.
    An IF-test in the cells with the percentage calculation will wortk too. Let's say your base value is in Column A.
    =IF(A>0, A*X%, "")
    where X is the amount of the percentage you are calculating will blank the cell on a zero result.

  • Using TreeViewer and creating a pop-up menu?

    I am using Eclipse Ganymede(3.1?) to write my program. This project has multiple parts(most issues/progress can be tracked back in java-forums.org) and I am trying to get the last bit of my GUI finished. I have a TreeViewer that displays on top of a composite display(not a component) which is why I haven't been able to find a solution that works for me. My tree is interactive(double click nodes to expand, deepest nodes open up an editor view, auto refresh new nodes/deletes etc) and I'm trying to make a pop-up menu appear on right click that would give all the options the File menu gives. I haven't been able to find a work around on how to attach the menu since my TreeViewer is based on a composite instead of a component there is no where to attach the menu. I have been working on this one issue for a week with no progress and am at the point where I'm tempted to rewrite my entire project using JPanel and JPanes and Tree but I REALLY don't want to have to do this. This is my createPartControl method with the relevent sections.
    public void createPartControl(final Composite parent) {
    //          final Tree tree = new Tree(parent, SWT.MULTI | SWT.H_SCROLL | SWT.V_SCROLL | SWT.BORDER);
              treeViewer = new TreeViewer(parent, SWT.MULTI | SWT.H_SCROLL | SWT.V_SCROLL | SWT.BORDER);
    //          treeViewer = new TreeViewer(tree);
              treeViewer.setContentProvider(new ViewContentProvider());
              treeViewer.setLabelProvider(new ViewLabelProvider());
              treeViewer.setInput(createDummyModel());
    //Double click listener
              treeViewer.addOpenListener(new IOpenListener() {
                   public void open(final OpenEvent event) {
                        //double click expands/shrinks nodes, opens up target editors
    //Selection listener
              treeViewer.addSelectionChangedListener(new ISelectionChangedListener() {
                      public void selectionChanged(SelectionChangedEvent event) {
                           final IActionBars bars = getViewSite().getActionBars();
                           selObj = ((IStructuredSelection) event.getSelection()).getFirstElement();
                                      //...outputs selection to status bar
    //Mouse listener
              treeViewer.getTree().addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter(){
                 public void mouseUp(MouseEvent event){
                      if(event.button==3){         //right click
                           System.out.println(event.getSource());        //Tree{ }
                           System.out.println(event.display);             //org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display@1e328e0
                           if(selObj instanceof Server){
                                System.out.println(treeViewer.getControl().toString());          //Same as event.getSource()
                                               /*code to have menu appear goes here*/
                                System.out.println("Server Menu");
                                //Delete Server
                                //Edit Server
                                //View Properties
         }Does anybody know a way I can attach a popup menu to the node I click on or if it's possible(and if so how would I go about) attaching it to the display beneath the TreeViewer and somehow setting the focus or making the popup a heavy component so it would appear on top?
    P.S there's alot more superfluous code in the listeners but they don't pertain to this so I removed them.

    Can anyone confirm that what I'm trying to do is not possible? I found this link which states an SWT bug of the header not being a control so it become unattachable. http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.platform.swt/msg38040.html
    Any truth in this and if so where can I track progress of the bug?
