Route straight to System Directory Handler
Hi. Im trying to figure out how to route calls directly from a user calling an extension to a System Directory Handler. eg: user calls dn -> directory handler answers -> the user can search the directory for other users.
I dont want voicemail or a call handler. Is this possible? How exactly is it done if possible. Ive tried different setups and nothings worked the way i want.
Im using Call Manager 8.6 and Unity Messaging 8.6.
Still having issues with calls going straight to the DN's voicemail.
eg:
New User DN = 1234 w/ mailbox
Created a Direct Routing rule with the following attributes:
-Dialed number = 1234
-Active rule
-Send call to AD
-ln order of Precedence new rule is listed before other Direct Routing Rules
When I call 1234 it still goes to the generated voicemail box. What am I missing? Is it somehow not matching 1234 when calling in?

UC Voice enabled directory Handler
Hi
I'm trying to setup a voice enabled directory handler in Unity connection 7.1.3.
I have all configured and seem to work ok except one issue.
I can only call subscribers by Name, i can not call ext and other numbers example outbound calls. when i try to call i get "you can not call that number....."
Any idea to what it could be?
Thanks
Mohammed2 questions:
1) Do you have that callers can enter extensions during greeting selected?
2) What restriction tables are applied to your system?

Restore default greeting for system call handler
Unity Connection 8.0.3
There is a default system call handler called "Opening Greeting". A while ago I changed the greeting for that call handler without first saving a copy of the default greeting, and now I want to revert it to the default. How can I do that?
I think the default greeting said, "Hello, Cisco Unity Connection messaging system. From a touch tone telephone you may dial an extension at any time. For a directory of extensions press 4, otherwise, please hold to leave a general message".Thanks. Unity Conn won't let me disable the standard greeting, but I can change it to "Callers Hear: System Default Greeting" instead of "My Personal Recording" which I have it set to now. I assume that's what you meant. Yes, I did try that, but then I hear, "sorry opening greeting is not available", so that's no good.

Dialing extension from a Directory Handler
We have configured a unique directory handler on our Cisco Unity server to allow incoming callers to search from a directory. However, when he selects an employee from the directory, when it dials it goes straight into his voice mailbox. Is there a way to configure the directory handler to forward the call to the phone for the employee they select rather than straight into voice mail? Thanks for your help!
You need to update the transfer settings for each Subscriber to ring an extension vs. go directly to greeting. If you want to update all (or a number of) Subscribers for this, you can do that using Bulk Edit. For an individual Subscriber, this option is under the transfer settings.

UCxN 8.x Directory Handler
Is is possible to have voice enable directory handler and just say first name. It seem like it is set to require first and last name. I would like to have it use either or.
Hi Donald,
The search criteria is based on what is shown as the users
"Display Name" so you could put only firstnames as that
entry but it would limit the search if there was any name overlap
We've even tested putting the user extension/DN in that field and it works
as described.
Voice Enabled
(For Cisco Unity Connection systems with the voice-recognition option only). For this type of directory handler, callers say the first name and last name of the Connection user that they want to reach, or enter an extension by saying the individual digits in the extension. In addition to searching by first and last name, the voice directory handler includes alternate names in searches. Callers can narrow down the search by saying the name and city or department of the user (or both) if these fields are defined on the Edit User Basics page in the user profile.
Connection users who are listed in the directory are available to outside callers as names that can be reached. Administrator-defined contacts are only available to Connection users who are signed in to Connection, and user-defined contacts are only available to the Connection users who defined them.
Note that for this type of directory handler, users cannot be accessed by using directory handlers unless they have a display name specified and the List in Directory check box is checked for them on the User Basics page.
Cheers!
Rob

Error while creating request list Unable to detect the SAP system directory
We are upgrading SAP BW (NW 7.0 EHP1) to SAP BW (NW 7.3)
source OS: Windows 2008 R2, source DB: MSSQL server 2008 R2 SP1 CU3
I had started the upgrade by running: STARTUP.BAT
I had started the DSUGui on the server (CI / DB on the same server) from: D:\usr\sap\BP1\upg\sdt\exe\DSUGui.bat
I ran both programs (run as administrators).
Once SAP Gui connects and was able to create userid/ password and when ready to start the initialization phase (click next)
gives me the error

I had tried STARTUP.BAT "jce_policy_zip=Z:\export-import\downloads\jce_policy-6' and still the same error.
I had started DSUGui.bat with trace and the trace file contents are

How to Change Default User Directory without changing System Directory
Hi Everyone,
I need to change default User Directory for my JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2.
Default User Directory = C:/JDeveloper/mywork
Default System Directory = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*
Now I Need to Change it to
My Default User Directory = C:/Monty/JDev11g2/
But System's Default Dir = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*(Same)
For this i explicitly Set variable ide.user.dir to C:/Monty/JDev11g2/ in JDev.boot file as explained in Installation document.
Working fine but it contains System Folder too. I don't want this.
Any Help to find me separate these both as it works for Single User.
Thanks,

Where is the system directory of JDeveloper 10.1.2.1?
In JHeadstart 10g for ADF Installation Guide, it says the followings:
If you want to be able to use JHeadstart Designer Generator: in <JHeadstartHome>\config\jdevaddins you will also find a file named migration.xml. This file must be copied to the system directory of JDeveloper, for example: <JDeveloperHome>\jdev\system10.1.2.0.0.1811. On Linux this directory is in the home directory of the user that is running JDeveloper: $HOME/jdevhome/system10.1.2.0.0.1811. The exact name of this directory depends on the build number of JDeveloper.
But, there is no directory like <JDeveloperHome>\jdev\system10.1.2.0.0.1811 in JDeveloper 10g(Version 10.1.2.1, build 1913) New Aug 2005.
Where is it?You have to start JDev 10.1.2.1 once before the
system directory is created under the /jdev
directory. The name will be something like
system10.1.2.1.0.1913.

Tivoli Access Manager 6.0 with Sun Java System Directory 6.3
Hi,
We have been using Tivoli Access Manager 6.0 with Sun Java System Directory 6.3 .
Using IBM TAM Java API we can administer the user creation but the API provide support only to create user with required attribute as user name, password, description, setAccoutntvalid etc.
But Sun Java System Directory 6.3 contains the many attributes as just to name a few...
First Name (givenname), User ID (uid),Password (userPassword), Confirm Password
E-mail (mail), Telephone Number (telephoneNumber), Country (c),Fax Number (facsimileTelephoneNumber), Locality (l), Organization (o), Organizational Unit (ou), accessHint, accountHint, departmentNumber, description, destinationIndicator, displayName, employeeNumber ETC...
Now My Issue is if we need to add the values for other attributes as "accessHint" , "employeeNumber" etc, then how can we acheive using IBM TAM Java API or is there any other way.
Thanks for your kind help...Looks like the attribute sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries is defined twice in the schema. Run the following and see where it is defined for the second time.
# cd /var/opt/SUNWdsee/dsins1/config/schema
# grep -w sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries *.ldif | grep -iv objectclasses

Yes, if it has at least 4GB RAM.

SSD for system directory (boot drive)?
I'm curious why anyone would recommend an ssd drive for the system directory (boot drive). From what I read about ssd's, if there is a lot of (re)writing to the drive, the performance will degrade with time due to the way ssd's (re)allocate free space. Given that the paging space (backing store) would be on that drive (unless you go out of your way to place it elsewhere) and also the system caches, wouldn't you expect the performance to degrade with time? Yes, you can stick a bunch of memory on the machine and that may reduce paging. But still, over time, I would still expect the performance to still degrade.
So explain to me what's the _long term_ benefit of a ssd drive for your boot device? Most people when it comes to storage know about StorageReview.
That's you're assumption.
I've only started researching this question since last week. There's nothing at that site that specifically answers it so I wouldn't be attracted there.
And because I just posted on Thursday a couple long replies on
SSD in another thread with a link, that I would hope was picked
up and read by others
A search of "storagereview" yields a hit on one of your posts On Sept 4 ("Are SSD harddrives faster ?"), four days before I even joined these forums! Searches here didn't yield anything and I wasn't about to wade through 200 pages of titles if searches didn't yield anything. And I don't know you from Adam so there would be no reason to look for your posts.

Configuring Unity Directory Handler for President to Secretary
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to do this and I'm pretty much stumped. We've got a directory handler configured in Unity for people to type the Last Name, First Name so they can find the user they wish to reach. This is based off of the voicemail accounts and our President has her voicemail hidden from the directory, but recently she states she wants to be listed in the directory but have it go to her secretary and not her. How would I go about achieving this? It seems the alternate names are there but only work for when the directory handler is voice enabled which we don't utilize.Easiest way to do this is to create a new user that has the same first/last name as the president, but an undialable extension (think 20 character long string no one would accidentally dial), have it listed in the directory but under the Message Actions settings for that user have it set to relay the inbound voice messages to the SMTP address of the secretary. You can also, of course, setup the transfer string for that dummy user to ring the secretary's phone as well if that's what you want to happen...
of course since this user is listed in the directory when employees go to send her a message they will find this user as well which may or may not be what you want (not sure if she's hiding from external or internal users). If the desire is for the "real" user to be found internally but not be found by external calls you can tuck that dummy user into a partition of it's own and create a search space that includes the existing partition and this dummy partition and have that used for the directory handler so outside callers will reach them using this mechanism - employees are part of the standard partition and will therefore not find the president by name as is the case today.
or vice versa if the other way is what they want... -

Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2
Hi,
We were informed by a third party that we can download Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2 SP 1 from the Sun downloads area. However, we couldn't find 5.2 Service Pack 1. We did find that Directory Server 5 2005Q4 (5.2 patch 4) is the only one available for download.
Is 5.2 patch 4 equivalent to 5.2 Service Pack 4?
Is there such thing as Directory Server 5.2 Service Pack 1?
We saw that 5.1 had multiple Service Packs available for download, will the 5.2 Service Packs be made available for downloading?
Cheers,
CateSun has changed the terminology for micro releases from Service Packs (5.1 release) to patched versions (5.2 release).
Therefore Directory Server 5.2 patch4 is the latest update of Directory Server 5.2 release (would have been called Service Pack with the former terminology).
Only the most recent version is available for download from the Sun Downloads site..
But we've never released 5.2patch1, as far as I remember.
