Router 2911 with voice card VIC3-E/M VOIP Problem

hi All
I want to ask if any of you have any experience like this. I have deployed a new Cisco router (model 2911) in my client. The previous router they used is 2811. After deployement, the WAN & LAN connection work fine, but the VOIP connection does not work.
The previous router (2811) uses a voice card module VIC2-e/m. But the new router (2911) use voice card module VIC3-e/m. It is used to connect to the PABX Panasonic TD-1232.
Could this be a factor?
Can anyone help?

Hi,
In addition to what Terry has said, the only change is IOS 15.1 where Toll Fraud Prevention feature was introduced which says
The router will automatically add any destinations that are defined as an ipv4 target in a VoIP dial-peer to the trusted source list. You can run the command
show ip address trusted list
To overcome this behaviuor, you can follow the three ways as suggested in below link  .The one has been already suggested by Terry.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/46566/understanding-toll-fraud-enhancements-1512t
your 28XX router has 12.4 IOS version

I don't know who 'Mrs Gideon' is, but we are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If you have previously contacted support then you can use the same method that you used last time, and, if you have a case number, include that as well

  • Stardom drive with areca card mini-sas causing fcp problem

    Hi everyone,
I have a stardom st8-U5 with mini-sas containing 8x wd black 2tb in raid6 connected to areca 1222x in my pcie slot
My macpro is early 2009 8 core with 8 gig ram installed running fcp studio3
i have nothing but problems ever since I upgraded to this stardom drive and I'm very much desperate for a solution. The drive is fast by itself but not when im editing in fcp...
When I first bought the drive, it was filled with 8 x 3tb hitachis and it the drive was very inconsistent. It would edit very fast in one time, and lag a few minutes later to the point where I have to restart my system to bring back the speed. The seller said that it may be the problem with the 3tb drives is not very compatible with the driver yet so we decided to do a drive swap with the mighty caviar blacks.
However, the problem persists.. It would be fine in one time and be very slow and choppy a few minutes later. It is generally fine when I'm editing in "low" quality RT but I don't go out and buy a 3000 dollars system to edit in "low" res...
When I skim through the footage in the timeline, it produces preview images very fast, but not during playback.
I'm editing AIC codec from dslr transcoded footage.
Areca support is nil.. they never replied my emails... stardom claims that the problem is not with their drive but rather with the card/fcp itself.. I somehow agree...
furthermore, I have run digital rebellion software, disc utility with no success..
ANY help will be hugely hugely appreciated.. thank you in advance
    Santo

did you format the drives HFS+  when you set them up ?
most drives are supplied formatted NTFS

  • Problem with Decklink card during voice over

    Hi,
i have PMG5 2.5 GHz with FCS & Blackmagic Decklink extreme card.
all these days i had a great time working on FCP . till i faced a peculiar problem
when i am capturing video from Beta or DV 50 , i am able to select video Only or Audio only , or Video & Audio .
but when iam trying to capture Audio Only option through the the Mic which is connected to the mixer, i am not able to capture audio.
even i have noticed one more strange thing, i have tried Voice Over tool in FCP 5.04 with Decklinik card and i am not able to grab any audio through the Decklink card.
but i can use built in audio for my voiceover.
has anybody come across this kind of problem,
    can somebody help me .

    Hi Rajendra,
your questions is marked as solved, but I haven't seen your question answered, so I might be wasting time. Anyway.
I bumped into the same problem not long ago. I'm using a Multibridge, but the problem and solution are the same. Here's the reply I got from Kristian Lam over at Blackmagic:
In order to get vo tool in Final Cut Pro HD to work, these are the
    steps to follow:
    1) Video Input in Blackmagic DeckLink preferences is set to match the audio input type. For example, if you're recording via the XLR connectors of your card, then then 'Inputs' under 'DeckLink Video Connections' must set to analog. It doesn't matter if it's component or composite analog video.
    2) In the View menu of Final Cut Pro HD, set External Video to “Off”. When finished with the Voice Over tool, set External Video to “All Frames” to use the broadcast monitor.
    3) You must have a stable video signal going into the card when using the vo tool or Final Cut Pro HD will not see the audio. (or use a Blackburst generator)
    4) Use the Displays menu to set the DeckLink desktop to the same format as the video source, eg. NTSC 720 x 486.
Well, then select your Decklink Card in the Voiceover Input selection. Even after I had done all that, I couldn't see any audio coming into FCP. The solution to that was to raise the Trim at the top of the mixer. I got a nice signal into the Mackie and voilà also sound into FCP.
    Hope this helps,
    Colin

  • Can you use an external antenna with the 4G LTE Router with Voice?

I live in a black hole of cell service - very rural, in a valley surrounded by trees, no DSL, no cable, no other options except satellite internet which I did for 15 years and will never do again. My current data setup is a Pantech UML290 USB modem connected to a Cellphone-Mate full band outdoor Omni 3G/4G antenna on the roof. I just ordered an amplifier to boost the 4G LTE connection. The modem is plugged into a Cradlepoint MBR900 router, which then provides my home internet (way more than 10 devices, and mostly wired).
Is there a way to add the antenna and amplifier setup to the broadband router with voice so I can be assured of the signal? If so, could I then use this router to feed the Cradlepoint and continue using multiple wired devices?
I was set to order this router last night, but the CSR through chat told me that you cannot attach antenna to the router with voice - only to the one with data. This really doesn't make any sense to me, but she was firm about it. If I can attach, can I use the cables I have or will I need a different adapter?
There is so little information about this particular router. My current setup is doing fairly well, but I would love the option to drop my landline and increase signal strength for both voice and data. With no antenna, the modem gets around -125 db, and can't connect at all. With the antenna mounted on the roof, and routed through the Cradlepoint, I consistently get -85 db. 4G LTE speeds are around 15-19 Mb/s down and very inconsistent 2.5-4.0 Mb/s up. However, the 4G drops and resets multiple times a day, so I usually sacrifice the speed to get a more stable 4.5-5 Mb/s down and 0.5 Mb/s up through forced 3G.
Voice calls are spotty if received at all, and frequently drop immediately if there is any connection. And of course, the data limit has been a nightmare. I could potentially save some money by porting my landline to Verizon, but not if there is no way to boost the signals. The Omni antenna will boost all, but not sure if there's any way to route the existing antenna setup to feed both the voice and data sides, or if it would be enough to allow me to do this. This router also says it's 4G LTE only, but the specs on the antenna they sell say it boosts 3G for failover, so not sure if it will grab anything else. Any help or advice GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for reading through the whole thing.

No, not directly. You would need to transfer your data from your iPad to your Mac and then back it up to an external drive.
    Pete

  • Problems with WMP54gs card to WRT300n Router Connecting

Does anyone have any suggestions for this issue I am having with my wireless???
I have a WMP54gs pci card and trying to connect to a WRT300n Router but when I try to connect it will never get an ip.  I know each of them work just not with each other.  With the card I am able to connect to the actual 2wire DSL modem but not the router and I have other computers connected to the router.
I have tried everything I can think of even gone as far as re-installing windows.
Message Edited by tabbate on 03-24-2009 07:23 AM

You need to Update the Drivers for your Wireless Adapter...Download the Drivers from here
Once you have downloaded the drivers you need to unzip the file...After you unzip the file you should un-install the adapter drivers/software...Reboot your computer...You should see a message found new hardware...Select the option Install it from a specific location, then select Include this location in Search and browse to the place where you have unzipped all the files and select the Driver folder and click O.k...Then click Next and it should install the adapter drivers...
NOTE : This installation doesn't install the software(Linksys Monitor)...
Once the Adapter is installed, Click on the Start button >>> Control Panel >>> Network Connections- Right click on the "Wireless Network Connection" icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks"- If you see your wireless network in the list, highlight it by 'single' clicking on it- Now click on the 'Connect' button below- If your wireless network is secured, it would ask you to provide the network key- Provide the wireless network key and confirm it again in the confirmation box and click "Connect".

  • Verizon router MI424WR conflict with voice over IP

I was recently as of Jan 6, 2009 set up with FIOS.  In my network of computers and printers I also have a linksys T-mobile router with voice over IP (voIP).  Very shortly after installing FIOS all was well until just recently (about 1 week ago) I started to experience a problem with the voIP.  I get a dial tone and can call out however I can not hear the party's phone ringing and can not hear them talking.  They can hear me talk.
I have the original firmware on the Linksys router.  I was told that Verizon has done a firmware upgrade but can not give me the previous firmware.
Are there any suggestions for me to help getting my phone working?

Well, I have never come across this issue before, but it sounds like a quality of service issue and not really a port issue of any sort so I doubt opening any type of port will fix anything. If your ONT allows it, try bypassing our router with the linksys and see if the problem is fixed.  Just want to verify it is the actiontech router causing the issue...

  • Differences betwin Cisco Voice Cards

    Hi,
I have a Media Gateway that is certificated to work with Cisco 2650XM using NM-HDV-1E1-30E or NM-HDV-2E1-60 cards to make trunk TDM and cisco work as ARU (Automatic response Unit) using TCL 2.0.
Now, i have a cisco 2811 and seen VWIC-2MFT-E1 and VWIC-2MFT-G703 cards, that are more cheap than that the NM cards.
My question is if can I use this VWIC to replace that NM voice cards for applications of ARU (Automatic response Unit) using TCL 2.0.
    Thanks.
    Fred

    Thanks,for your answer.
How i now if my router alredy gave a dsp module ??

  • Powering APs from a 2911 with PoE switch module

    Good Morning everyone!
I am hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I am having at a client site.
Client has purchased a 2911 ISR and an 8 port switch module with PoE card with the intention of running 4 2602i access points being managed by a 2504 WLC on the same switch card.
Problem we have is that the APs come up but do not power up radios or cleanair. If I plug an AP into switch port 0/0 it comes up and works fine but not on any of the other ports. We saw this on a separate router, (they are doing the same setup to two sites), yesterday. That's why I was called in, as they could only get one AP working at a time.
I believed this was a faulty poe card as it looks as though the APs are just not getting enough power and are placing the radios into RESET mode. Moved to the other ISR and everything worked fine, left it running overnight came in and all was fine and dandy.
As the other router had only a basic config on we did the config which involved some ACLs and a few port configurations but nothing on the switch card and nothing pertaining to power. I am a wireless guy, not a router specialist so am a bit stymied. Sometime later we noticed that all of the APs had all radios in RESET state.
Next I wiped the config on the ISR and rebooted everything and everything came up fine so points towards not a hardware issue but configuration.
    Where should I be looking?
I can't paste a full running config due to client constraints but if someone could point me in the direction I can clean parts of the config for sharing...

I believed this was a faulty poe card as it looks as though the APs are just not getting enough power and are placing the radios into RESET mode.
I haven't played with those modules for a long time, but what do you get when you run the command "sh power inline"?
2600 APs require a minimum of 15.4w PoE but the recommended is 20.0w PoE.

Trying to get a WRT54GX2 wireless router working with a WPC54G wireless card. The laptop and desktop both will access the Internet and work when hardwired through the router's Ethernet ports. When trying to access wireless, the Laptop shows to be connected to the router and also to Internet, but Internet Explorer can not access any websites.  Suggestions? Thanks.

what ip address does the laptop get ?? ensure that the laptop is not set for a static ip add....and it gets an ip add from the router ..
