Router Blocking a Website

So a few days ago my router seems to have blocked me from visiting a website. www.tfaw.com. I have tried everything calling linksys completly reseting my router updating firmware. Making sure everything is set correctly. Changing the MTU to 1400 and lower. Still nothing. Called my service provider who walked through fixes in internet options making sure it wasnt something blocking the site. It looks like this issue is fairly uncommon but I have seen people having the same issues as in this forum posts.
http://www.webmasterworld.com/webmaster/3781120.htm
http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/router-blocking-websites/td-p/293627
However nobody seems to be able to offer any advice that actually fixes the problem. I feel like im going round and round not finding an actual reason why im having access blocked from the site.
I tried connecting through a proxy and it let me access the website from this computer. I know it has to have something to do with my network/router, I can access the site on both of my phones and as soon as I turn on my wireless on the phones it does not allow me access to the website.
Does anyone know why this might be happening?? As I can tell nobody has actually been able to tell anyone why or how to fix this issue
Please Help!

• How do I block a website?

I have an addiction to some forums and social networking sites.. I've tried removing them from all my favorites to deter me from visiting them, but I find myself just typing out the web addresses. It's that bad. How can I block these sites completely from my usage?

Although a browser is probably not the right tool to block websites, there are some add-ons that might help: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=block+websites
Other more advanced options: Configure your router to block some websites; use website filtering software; edit the hosts file of your OS to block sites; use services such as OpenDNS or other filtering services, perhaps even Torproject with Torbutton for Firefox etc. etc. Research carefully before deciding.

• BEFW11S4-blocks certain websites

I have spent hours w my internet provider trying to identify why certain websites, which were always accessible, all of a sudden can not be accessed wirelessly. After much ado, I connected the modem directly to my laptop and low and behold the websites in question pops up w no problem. Since I am lame when it comes to this stuff, can someone explain to me in plain talk how I can access these websites without having to be tethered to my modem? Is the modem too old, why is it only blocking certain websites? The websites in question are academic and I checked w the institution and all is well at their end. thanks

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly
the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the
router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power
cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable
to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug
in the power cable to the router & check out it will definately work!!

• How to block a website (for all devices) on an EA6900

I'm trying to figure out how to block a website for all devices connected to my router. The only thing I can find is blocking websites by device. Please tell me that they did not take this feature away.

welcome to the 'smart' world. I think one of the best improvements Belkin could do is to give us back the option of the old gui. so much more useful.

• Help blocking certain website and IP on a SG 300-20 Small Business Switch

Hi,
I like to block certain IP and website on the SG 300-20.
Being new to Cisco Small Business switch I she tried with no positive result. Could someone give me some steps or maybe direct me where I can find a step by step resource.
Thank you

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us for support with your device.
Unfortunately what you are trying to do is not possible with any Small Business switch.
It is true that this switch can be used in layer 3 and it will be able to route your traffic on the inside of the network, but it will not be able to route your traffic to the Internet as it doesn't do any NATting.
If you need to block any websites you will need to configure it on your router or firewall.
Just to be completely clear, this switch won't be able to block any websites.
I hope this was helpful

• Blocking all websites except a few + Skype and other chat programs

Hello,
Can you tell me how can i block all websites from a network except a few of them using a Linksys wireless router?
Also, i need to block several ports used for Skype and other chat apps.
I want this solution to work for the whole network. Not using windows policy or other ways where i'd have to go to every single computer.
Thank you.

There's a way on how to do that but it depends on the model number of your device. What's the model number of your router anyway?

• Block All Websites except for a few

I have a Linksys WRT54G router. I just got my 7 and 9 year old kids a computer. I need to block all websites except for about 5 - 10 websites that my wife and I let them visit. I don't think I can do this with the WRT54G router, but does anyone know how I can do it.
Thanks,
Skooter Columbo

unfortunately, on wrt54g routers, you can only block and not allow websites.
and to block websites, you can only put up to 4 websites which is what you do not want to do. cause you said you need to block all websites except for 5-10 sites.

• I would like to know how to block a website on all of Firefox, without using parental controls.

I remember some kind of control or perhaps an add on being advertized for one of the recent beta versions of Firefox 4.0 about blocking particular websites from all viewing on Firefox, not just as a parental control. The add-ons I saw are not for 4.0 Beta 12, the version I'm on now. Can anyone steer me to this feature, if it exists? Thank you!

Possibly BlockSite - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/blocksite
This one does not work on Firefox 4 but the developer is working on a new version.
You could use the Windows HOSTS file to block sites - http://allthingsmarked.com/2006/08/28/howto-block-websites-using-the-hosts-file

• I need directions on how to set up the Blocksi addon to block specific websites

I need to block specific websites like Facebook and downloaded Blocksi but I don't know how to use it and can't find specific directions.

You can block specific websites by going to Blocksi options and entering each website on the Blacklist tab. If you have further questions, please consider joining the new Google Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/blocksi-users

• How do i block a website feed

A certain website ( Tylerzander.com/feed) keeps trying to send me malware. How can I automatically block this website?

You can used the HOSTS file to block specific websites.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file
There's the Block Site extension, too.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/blocksite/
But it might not be updated in a timely manner for the Aurora channel ''(which you're on with 9.0a2)'' and it might be disabled after a version update in the future, although the 9.0 version is now set for compatibility.

• I want to block certain websites

While I am having problems with facebook and loads of unwanted ads, is there any way I can permanently block certain websites or ads from Firefox?

Having a '''hosts''' file on Windows systems, and in Firefox use of the '''Adblock Plus''' extension with subscriptions are two major methods of blocking sites and/or files. With Adblock Plus you can block advertisements without blocking the site itself.
