Router Compatible with WRT54G Antenna Connection

I have to replace our WRT54G router--it's currently connected to a power booster and and omni-directional antenna.  Is there a router with an antenna connection compatible with the WRT54G--preferably a single antenna model?
Thx in advance,
David Miller

Is the Linksys E4200 Dual Band Router compatible with DHCP and VPN?
    Thanks,

Linksys/Cisco E4200 are compatible with DHCP. Second, these Wireless-N routers are only capable of enabling the VPN traffic to pass through the device.  You will need a VPN router and software to create the actual network to connect with your VPN client.

  • What cameras  are compatible with the camera connection kit

what cameras are compatible with the camera connection kit and ipad2

I also recently bought the camera kit and found that it worked fine as long as you don't format the SD card using PC. Once I re-formatted using my camera I could once again upload my photos. that was until I switched formats to Adobe RAW, it seemed unable to upload again. So I switched to S RAW and that worked fine. Sometimes my kit won't upload photos but I find that by just re-inserting the card it works fine.
Haven't tried video yet, but I recently learned that the devices are quit sensitive to the "Format"(that needs to be FAT32, or exFAT- but in this instance it needs to be formatted by a Mac).
    Good luck

  • Is Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G v5 Router compatible with Windows Vista?

Hello all, I'm new to these forums, just signed up tonight because I am purchasing a new Desktop PC in a week or so. I just would like to ask and make sure before I purchase if my router is compatible.
On my new PC it's going to have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 or 64 bit I haven't decided yet.

Yes, your router is compatible with Windows Vista...

  • Is my e2500 router compatible with mavericks?

I am trying to reset my linksys e2500 wireless router and when i run the disc it tells me that I am not up to date.  Is this router not compatible with Mavericks??

    Am using Mac Pro 5,1.
The drop outs to internet happen when connected to a DSL modem via my Asante router.  All connections are ethernet; not using wireless.
When I connect directly via ethernet to my Qwest DSL modem, and bypas the router, no problem.
Drop outs while Safari is open, or Google Chrome is open, can occur anytime. If Google Chrome and Safari are both open at the same time, internet dropout occurs for both simultaneously.  They occur after waking from sleep also.
I can get back internet connectivity in both Chrome and Safari by unplugging the DC power to the Asante router for 5 seconds, and plugging the power back in; internet connectivity resumes instantly in both Chrome and Safari.
So the problem is not isolated to Safari.
The problem seems isolated to my Mavericks install completed yesterday because:
This same Mac Pro running Win 8.1 from a separate SSD and separate boot to Win 8.1 through the router does not have the problem.
My tenant downstairs running Win 7 through the router does not have any connection problems.
There were no internet drop outs when connected to DSL modem via this same router when I ran Mountain Lion.
Sparky, can you describe a "step-by-step" on how you reset your IP address, etc?
Is this a "handshaking problem" between Mavericks and my router?
Do others have suggestions for solution paths to try?
    Will report back right away.
    Thank you.

  • Actiontec M1424WR Router compatible with the new VMS1100 Cable Box

    Hello all,
Been trying to upgrade to the new Quantum Fios. To begin Verizon never sent me a upgraded router that was compatible with the VMS1100 set top box.
They shipped me the Actiontec M1424WR Router looks like my old router but with a red front piece. I'm getting 75/75 service as well.
This is an older router still. In fact its not even in production anymore. My concern is that it's not going to work with the new VMS1100. Hate to go through the process of setting it up and it doesn't work.
Can anyone help and clarify if this older router will still work with the VMS1100 set top box?
    Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

VMS will work with the Actiontec Rev I or the Fios Quantum Gateway router.

  • Problems with WRT54G getting connected to internet

This is a slightly odd situation, in my opinion. I have the following setup:
ethernet modem -> WRT54G Version 7 router -> multiple computers with WMP54G wireless ethernet card.
The problem what I have is that everything works, when wired (onboard ethernet card of one of the computers), but when looking at the connection from a computer that's wireless the internet connection just doesn't exist!? How is that possible at the same time?
Reading parts of other problem threats:
DHCP is turned off. I prefer a static network address. Have WPA2 set up (works fine it seems)
If more info is needed, do tell so.Message Edited by shangori on 12-03-200607:47 AM

Yes, I am connected to the router (can change the settings on it, can ping the router AND other computers on the network). The computer I changed the settings from is the one wireless, so that works as well. Sometimes the wireless connection disconnects still, but mostly it does so when internet has already disconnected. So I think it's more the connection with the internet that's a little haywire.
While browsing the router settings on any browser (firefox and IE) I do reguraly get the message that the 'website gave a wrong code' (sorry, the error is in dutch and this is the best translation I can give) and that I should contact the administrator of the site of the problem consists. When refreshing it sometimes shows the page wrongly (missing half of it for instance or just only text) when this error has just occured. It takes a restart of the router (pulling the plug, waiting a min, replugging it) to get rid of it.
Getting connected to the internet is fairly difficult. It takes several attempts and several messages of "PPTP connection can't be established", before anything happens. When I am connected it takes anywhere between a few minutes and several hours before I'm getting disconnected and have to go through the entire thing of trying to connect several times again.
I've reconnected my old router (not wireless, older sweex model) and with that one the connection remained stable for several hours, before I tried it again with the WRT54G. I have Connect on Demand set with a max idle time of 9999min (basically, I don't want to get disconnected at all, even if I'm not doing anything). Sometimes I kinda think that it doesn't see being logged in on msn as me being busy or something.
Again, if more info is needed, do say so.

  • Netgear G router compatible with new iMac 27" N?

I'm having trouble getting my bright shining new custom-built 27" iMac to connect to my Netgear G router. I thought the N built into the new iMacs was backward compatible: http://www.apple.com/wifi/80211/
    What say you networking gurus?

It should work fine. It would help to know more details. For example, is the network not showing up under the AirPort icon in the menu bar? Is it showing up and selectable, but not accepting the passcode? Does it appear to connect to the network, but Internet access is not working? Those are completely different issues.
As a method of trouble-shooting, I would try to isolate the cause better.
If possible, try connecting it to the router using an Ethernet cable first, just to confirm the Internet connection is working properly. If that is too difficult due to the relative locations of the Mac and router, you can skip it. But if you find that it still does not work, the cause is more than just the wireless not working.
Try disabling the security on the router temporarily. See if you can now connect. If it does not work, there is general problem with the wireless networking. If it works with no security, then you know the cause is related somehow to the security protocol being used. You can focus trouble-shooting in that area.

  • SLS as Router: Trouble with internal hosts connecting to external IP.

I was hijacking [http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=12200257] long enough, so I'm moving this to my own question.
Setup: SLS 10.6.4 on Mac Mini(2010).
GigE en2 is connected to an internal network (hereafter 'lan')
USB Ethernet en0 (MacBookAir adapter) is connected to the external network (hereafter 'WAN').
Server has Two IP addresses, 'lan.lan.lan.2' and 'WAN.WAN.WAN.WAN'. Default route for server is 'WAN.WAN.WAN.GW'.
Server is serving NAT, DHCP, Firewall
Internal clients (such as 'lan.lan.lan.lan') trying to connect to 'WAN.WAN.WAN.WAN' (any port, any service) take about 13 SECONDS before they receive a reply.
External clients connecting to the WAN IP get served right away. ("The cobbler's children go barefoot").
Internal clients connecting to the internal IP (lan.lan.lan.2) are connected right away, also.
If I run 'route monitor' on the server during the 13 second connection, I see this:
    bash-3.2# route monitor -n
got message of size 124 on Wed Sep 1 21:21:16 2010

    sockaddrs: <DST,GATEWAY>
    lan.lan.lan.lan WAN.WAN.WAN.GW
Yes, it would be a losing route to try to reply out the WAN.WAN.WAN.GW for the internal address!
Furthermore, "traceroute -s WAN.WAN.WAN.WAN lan.lan.lan.lan" shows a route going OUT which of course fails.
Traceroutes of the LAN and WAN port on the server, show indeed that for the first several seconds, (until the RTM_LOSING message appears) the server tries to reply out the WAN port.
I've tried all sorts of static routes… to no avail
One odd thing: Why is the RTM_LOSING route IFSCOPEd to the external interface?
    Any help is appreciated.
Yes, I'm definitely considering using a hardware router instead. But I'm really trying to avoid that- trying to save on space, power, heat here. The Mac is really a great box… If I can only get this fixed.
Thanks in advance to anyone who looks at this.

Aha! There's probably a simple command line way to do this while running… somewhere… But, I'm willing to try it. I've already made the Mac our site's perimeter router, and I'm not quite ready to switch to a separate hardware router as the shiny new Mini ought to work.

On the plus side, I'm getting a great TCP/IP re-education in the meanwhile.

  • Is BEFW11S4 router compatible with FIOS?

My daughter has Verizon FIOS as her ISP.  Can the BEFW11S4 be used in that environment?  Is there any special configuration settings I need to change when used in that environment?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think it may work because because BEFW11S4 supports PPPoE connection.
I believe though even with Fios you can use your old router with the system, they just give you a free one when you sign up.

  • Is the Time Capsule wi-fi router compatible with the Nest thermostat? I've read where there are issues with the Nest and Airport Extreme (AE)? Is AE used in the Time Capsule?

I've read where there are issues with the Nest and Airport Extreme (AE)? Is AE used in the Time Capsule?
If so, i already have a wi-fi router, so can the Time Capsule simply be used for wireless backup instead of as a router if there is conflict?

A TC is fundamentally a AE with a sata chip included to drive the hard disk. Some slightly different bios to include disk functions, although most of those are also on the AE. So as a router it is 99.999% identical.
And yes, if you have another router you can easily bridge the TC and use wireless for backups and internet connection. Once you no longer route through the TC the issues with most NAT problems including port forwarding should disappear.. mostly this is due to all apple routers using NAT-PMP instead of upnp which is the near universal standard for opening ports.. without upnp apple keep their routers more exclusive.

  • Keynote 08 Flash Export not compatible with Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro

    Hello
Our company uses Keynote extensively for presentations. We also give presentations online using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (hosted, formerly known as Macromedia Breeze - <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/>). Where as it's a great environment for online seminars (best I've seen), it fails dramatically when you upload a looping Flash file created in Keynote. I first tried this in Keynote '06 and now in '08.
When I tried in Keynote 06, the animation was three slides looping, synced to an audio track. When I tried in '08, it was one slide with (the new) animations looping over 20 seconds (or so) without a soundtrack.
I have some contact with Adobe, and this issue has been sent to their engineering department, but they seem to think there's something funky about the format of the file that Keynote exports. I'm trying to gather more data for them to investigate with.
Does anyone know what version of Flash Apple's export is most like? Do we have any specs on the file export format?
Has anyone tried using Flash exports in other Flash-using online environments?
    Thanks!
    ~brian

I believe I figured it was somewhere between Flash 5 and Flash 6. I say this because while the resulting presentations could be opened in QuickTime (which only uses Flash 5) a better result would be achieved by viewing in the browser. Either that, or QuickTime's Flash 5 support isn't complete.
