Router constantly needs reset
This problem started on Monday:
Every 4-6 hours my wireless internet goes out and I need to reset my router. I have checked with multiple devices (iPhone, other computers and it is out for all of them). After reset it works fine for another 4-6 hours and then disconnects. What can I do? I have a MI424WR router. Is there anything I can check or do I need a new router?
If your Internet light is going out, this means you are losing your connection from the router to the ONT. Regardless of what internal addresses you use, or wireless connection. The ONT is the large Verizon box. I would say have them ship a replacement router and if the problem continues, then it may be the ONT. But most likely the router. If it is not the router, they may ned to send a tech to replace the ONT. They do not replace those often.
Look and see if the router says rev. A, B, C, D, if it is a D or below, they may tell you not to send it back. The customer support center told me I would be required to send it back. A letter in the box told me not to bother since the one I had was obsolete. Before it started giving me trouble it was working but old.

Hello. I have an install of win 8.1. IE 11 is frequently going into a weird status, and will then not download pictures, or allow file downloads, and doesn't display most web pages correctly. Not sure if it is attempting to go into a high security mode,
but some pages will give a "javascript needs enabled" error.
I have found that if I go into IE settings - advanced and do a basic reset, IE will then work normally for a while, until something happens
I have "protected Mode" enabled through group policy, would this be causing this behavior? and how would I best get this corrected.Hi,
For the
"javascript needs enabled" error, Please open IE, click Tools>Internet Options>Secure>Custom level>scroll down to “Scripting", in the "Active Scripting" item select "Enable" refresh the webpage.
For other problems, pleaes try:
Test IE with no add-ons mode.
As described in the first reply, you can temporarily turn off anti-virus software for a test.
I also suspect that some software installed in your system may conflict with IE, to eliminate this, please test this IE in clean boot mode:

Constantly needing to reset Airport Extreme
Hi! I have an Airport Extreme network set up in my office with an Airport Express acting as an extension. The Airport Express works for a day or so and then flashes amber the next day. I constantly need to unplug and plugin the Airport Express for it to work. If anyone has any tips, that would be great!
Seems to be the firmware update. This board is full of complaints. Hopefully, someone at Apple is working on a fix. It worked fine before this dumb update.

(High Ip input) on My router , I need to troubleshoot why CPU is high !!!!
=================
i have a cisco router 7200 NPEG2 processor , worked as LNS for PPPOVPDN circuits (Router for ADSL clients)
i have "high ip input on my processor" and there is alot of differnce on my router between operations done by cef and operations done by router cpu
as an example , lets make show cpu process sorted

=====================
as we see above , we have high "IP Input" about differnece in cpu =67-54=13 % , which is high value process in software .
i follwed the article here :
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/7500-series-routers/41160-highcpu-ip-input.html
i check and found that my router is fine ,
no arp calls.
no routing loops.
no flapping links.
i checked that my router has cef enabled and no enormous routing protocol updates
i found that i have big differnce between hardware & software process on the router which is 13 %
but when the traffic is more and more , the cpu reach reach 93 % and begin to have drops.
i just want to ask , how can i debug the operations that are done on the cpu processor of the router ???
i mean that if i know that traffic , i can estimate and know the problem that increasing my cpu !!!
another question :
how to debug the packest that has a ttl exceeded 50 or ttl exceeded 100 ?????
i dont wan tto make debug ip packed , because i have a huge traffic and it will let my router hanged due to large debug !!
===============
righ now i will post my router config and some verification:

Does the route list gets reset when adding route pattern in version 9 of CUCM?
Hi All,
I created a new route pattern in call manager version 9 and then associated it to an existing route list. But when I was trying to save the route pattern. I was prompted with the message saying " Any updates to this Route Pattern automatically resets the associated gateway or Route List"
I was not able to see this message on CUCM version 8.6 however on CUCM version 9 it is there.
Does that mean that the route list/gateway will be reset and the existing calls will be dropped?
Or is it a bug?
A response will be greatly appreciated.
ThanksHi Farhad,
It does pop up when we modify the Route Pattern in CUCM 8.6 too.
If you asociate the GW/Trunk directly to Route Pattern, yes, it will reset them and calls will be interrupted. To avoid that, we need to associate the Route List to Route Patterns.

Verizon 4G LTE Router constantly disconnecting and other issues
My Verizon 4G LTE Router constantly disconnects. It requires a power off reset to come back on. Unfortunately, I dumped a perfectly reliable DSL connection for this. Worse yet, it is in a second home, and used to remotely monitor my temperature and security camera. I'm an not there every hour of the day to power cycle this totally unreliable device!
Also,I've had this device for a couple of months now, and have yet to be able to get my security cameras working. Now I can't even tell if my furnace is on - with winter coming if I can't monitor the temperature remotely, my pipes and well pump could be seriously damaged. What is going on with this thing????Blazey, I appreciate you trying to help.
So, what you are saying is I have a few options:
1) Do nothing and keep paying for a service and hardware combination I purchased directly from Verizon that doesn't work
2) Spend $600 on top of what I have already spent to get limping along
3) Spend $600 + buy another more reliable router that doesn't hang all the time
Where is option #4 - Verizon should fix their problem(s), or release me from my contractual obligation so I can go back to a rock steady DSL connection!
This is totally unacceptable.. I am not trying to use some 3rd party hardware on their network. I purchased this directly from Verizon so I DIDN'T have to worry about it working. They swore to me that this would be a plug in replacement for my DSL. Now after some more reading I discover it is not even close. It does not support port forwarding without shelling out another $500 for a static IP. I can assure you, I did not pay for this with ATT's DSL service. I feel duped and am pretty outraged by this.
What's worse is, I do not have "eye's" on my vacation home almost 300 miles away while this is happening. A little difficult to just "pop" over and reset it - which is what Verizon support suggested I do. -
I want to set up the Time Machine and I would love to use the Time
Capsule but since I already have a wireless router I need suggestions on
what other
external disks Apple could recommend to use with the Time Machine and
how to configure that disk.
A complication that I need to resolve is the fact that I am using Vmware
Fusion to be able to use Windows on my Mac. Now it seems that Time
Machine is not backing up my files
on that virtual Windows without additional configuration and my question
is whether you can advise me here or whether this is only a matter for
the Fusion virtual machine. If you want to use Time Capsule you can.. you simply bridge it and plug it into the existing router.. wireless can be either turned off or used to reinforce the existing wireless.. eg use 5ghz in the TC which is much faster than your 2.4ghz.
You can also use a NAS.. many brands available but the top brands are synology, qnap and netgear readynas series. These will all do Time Machine backups although how well always depends on Apple sticking to a standard. There are cheaper ones.. I bought a single disk zyxel which was rebadged and sold through my local supermarket. It actually works very well for TM at least on Snow Leopard. Major changes were made in Lion and again ML so do not instantly think it will work on later versions. I haven't tried it yet with those versions.
Any external drive can be plugged into the mac. Use the one with the fastest connection or cheapest price according to your budget. USB2 drives are cheap and plentiful. But no where near as fast as USB3 or FW800. So just pick whichever suits the ports on your Mac. Interesting Apple finally moved to USB3 on their latest computers.
TM should exclude the VM partition file.. it is useless backing it up from Mac OS side.. and will slow TM as it needs to backup that partition everyday for no purpose.. TM cannot see the files inside it to backup just the changes.
You need to backup windows from windows. Use MSbackup to external drive.. if you have pro or ultimate versions you can backup to network drive. But MSbackup is a dog.. at least until the latest version it cannot restore the partition without first loading windows. There are about a zillion backup software versions for windows.. look up reviews and buy one which works for you. I use a free one Macrium Reflect which does full disk backups and is easy to restore.. to do incremental backups though you have to pay for it. -
Since installing Firefox 29, my router constantly reboots on its own
Since installing Firefox 29, my router constantly reboots on its own. Is anyone else having this problem? And could it indeed be caused by Firefox?
Do you have any security software that may undo changes and restore a previous setup?

Box needs reset occasionally because of hdmi cable?
Hello, Our box needs reset occasionally after trying to watch something on dvr or on demand. Sometimes it will be a couple times a week, others times it will be several weeks in between. I called fios support and they told me that it was because we use an hdmi cable instead of a component cable to connect the box to our receiver.
Do the set top boxes really not fully support hdmi? And if not, why do they even have an Hdmi out and why did the Verizon installer connect it with a hdmi cable?
Could it be anything else? Unfortunately, using a component cable really isn't an option with our receiver. And resetting is a pain to do on a semi regular basis.there's a possiblity that your problem is related to a video setting in the set top box.
give it a shot and let us know if it works,
go to menu > settings > video settings > SDOVERRIDE = make sure the checkmark is next to 'OFF'
and then try it again. -

CUPC - CTL does not match the configured TFTP servers -- need reset!
Hi,
i have trouble with CUPC 8. Presence 8.0.4. I tested all things, but i'm unable find solution.
Client say: Phone initialization has occured. CTL reset required.[1002]. In the core log from the CUPC is:
provider-runner] [ConfigService] [CUCMConfigSubService.updateCTL(633)] - CTL does not match the configured TFTP servers -- need reset!
but i don't know which CTL, and why CUPC use CTL for accessing tftp. I'm not using secure connection to the CCM.
Solution from release notes:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cupc/8_0/english/release/notes/cupc80.html#wp248810 is not working.
Has anybody some idea?
RisaSome details for my trouble. Integration from CUPS and CCM from system troubleshooter is ok.
CCM has device type CUSF. But CUPC is not able connect to this softphone. CUPC client show error message from my first post. And in the core log from the CUPC are messages about softphone and downloading configuration file, but tftp connection failed. Log contain messages: Supplied TFTP address 192.168.10.3 is not in the CTL. // CTL does not match the configured TFTP servers -- need reset!
(same situation with hostname of CCM)
From release notes and description of this situation I tried erase old configuration from PC, but nothing change - same trouble.
Has anybody some idea, which CTL is used for authenticate tftp.
Thanks for response.

Airport Express needs resetting to give AppleTV an IP address (via Ethernet)
So my Apple TV (3rd gen) is connected via ethernet to my Airport Express, but the Airport Express needs resetting all the time for my Apple Tv to get an IP.
How do I get them to be friends forever without resetting the AE? When the AppleTv gets restarted, it still wont get an IP so I suspect the AE is the bad boy here.
Any idea's?Has this always happened with the Express or just starting happening recently? If just recently, where there any changes to either the Express' firmware or to the cable modem? What is the make & model of the modem?
