Router D-Link Dir-400 and Camera WVC54GCA

I can't connect Camera to my Wi-Fi Router(D-Link Dir-400). After I influenced Camera (entered Ip-adress, mask and default gateway) it can't find my Wi-Fi network. But my notebook find it. From that we see that network is working. I even turned off defence on Wi-Fi on my router but no result.
I entered on Camera Ip-adress 192.168.1.100, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.1.1(that's ip-adress my Wi-Fi Router), is it correct?

IP Address should be in the range of router's ip address. Apart from the ip address you need to match all the wireless settings of the router.Wireless Settings like SSID,Security Key and Channel should be exactly same on router and the Camera.Once you done with that, power cycle the complete network.

  • Photosmart D110a Wireless Troubleshooting with D-Link DIR-655 and Mac OSX 10.8

    Good evening all,
Apologizes if this has already been posted. I've googled this issue a couple of times, but I still haven't found a solution for this problem.
I have the Photosmart D110a and I'm running Mac OSX Mountain Lion, and my router is a D-Link DIR-655 and my security is WPA-Personal and the router is running in 802.11gn mode. My ISP is Optimum Online.
The issue that I've been having is that the printer works wireless when everything has been recently booted up. As does the scanner. However, if it hasnt been used for a while, the printer shows up in the OSX Print & Scan settings page as idle, but when I try to print, the dialog just says "looking for printer" and never finds it, and just says "The printer is not connected" under the item in the OSX Print Queue. Because of this, I have to restart the computer or restart the printer for them to find each other again.
I've seen other solutions on here, such as giving the printer a static IP address, and this hasn't worked either. The printer is still accessible with the static IP address, which means it's still got a connection to my network, but for some reason the OS isn't recognizing it or something.
It's obvious that the printer works when everything is freshly rebooted, but I still haven't been able to figure out this issue once it's been idle for a while.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi,
Try following my post below, I believe it might be relevant as the router drops the Bonjour connection:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/losing-connection-to-airprint-a-few-min...
I would also suggest updating your router's firmware and check if that may help:

For any help with this proccess I would highly recommend contacting Dlink support.

  • Linking D-Link DIR 655 and AirPort Extreme

Help! I need to link my D-Link DIR-655 and new Airport Extreme, but have no idea how to do it. I use the D-Link as my base router and want to use the Airport Extreme as a repeater/range extender upstairs in the house (the D-Link is in my office in the basement)where I use my Macbook Pro. The D-Link signal isn’t strong enough to reach areas of the upstairs. How can I make these two pieces of hardware work together? Is it possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m not a tech whiz.

I use the D-Link as my base router and want to use the Airport Extreme as a repeater/range extender upstairs in the house
The "extend a network" feature of the Extreme is intended to extend a wireless network created by another 802.11n Apple Airport product (Extreme, Express or Time Capsule).
Wireless repeaters or "extenders" use proprietary techniques that don't work well among different manufacturers. To extend your network wirelessly in the manner you seek would require that you replace your D-Link with another Airport, or replace the Express with a D-Link product.
The ideal solution in your case would be to run an Ethernet cable between the devices. That will work.

  • D-Link DIR-615 and iChat problem

I had a netgear previously, but it broke after a year so I bought this D-Link. I never had any problems with iChat, but now I get disconnected from iChat every few minutes. Any thoughts?

    OK,
    Pings.
To Ping someone or an IP is to use the computer or router to send a Sort of "knock knock" request to the IP or server/computer name.
On most devices you can Ping other devices on your LAN as there is no block to this.
A lot of devices though, have this disabled for the WAN (Wide Are Network + Internet) side of things.
This keeps the Public IP your ISP gives your Modem somewhat secret.
Like most things on the internet it an be abused.
The Network Utility in Applications/Utilities has the ability to send Pings.
The normal function is to send 10 pings and see if any get lost and to see how long they take to get a response.
You will see that there is an option to send Unlimited Pings. It is this that gets abused. There are ways of sending many pings very quickly as an Attack.
This can result in your Internet connection failing as the device or computer get tied up dealing with the Pings.
On the other hand certain apps like iChat use a Ping to confirm that it is the correct place/computer is is talking to.
For iChat it works like this.
One end send the Visible Invite (The Pop up to Invite to an A/V Chat).
This is sent by iChat on Port 5678
iChat then moves to port 16402 to do the Connection Process using the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
Part of this process is to send a Ping to confirm where the Visible Invite went to is the place/computer that is responding to the SIP Request. As you can be logged in twice to a Screen Name it confirms that the you are responding - It also stops someone eavesdropping and pretending to be you.
iChat will not work in A/C Chat unless this function is Allowed.
    *Denial of Service (DoS)*
This is somewhat of a hang over from the days when groups of "Hackers" used to organise a time to bring down a web server.
Lots of people would all go to the same web site (requesting a page)
Then they would hit the refresh button over and over (Many Request for the page).
eventually so many requests are made that the web server cannot cope and the whole server would "go down" and lose it's Internet Connection.
Strictly speaking it does not have to be application related like a web server/page but has to involve the computer doing something to reply.
With DoS (if your device has it) it has a preset threshold where it will regard the data coming to your computer as being "Too Much, Too Quickly", and cut the one port the data is coming in on.
With iChat Video there is a vast amount of data that can come very fast with modern Internet Speeds and you bump into the Threshold even before you see your Buddies Video pic.
There is no way to adjust the Threshold so it needs to be Disabled for iChat to work.
    *Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI)*
Works in a similar manner to DoS in that it tries to Inspect the incoming stream and judge if it should be allowed. With modern speeds there come a point when it cannot cope and it again shuts the port it is happening on to "Protect" the whole Internet Connection.
Again for iChat it needs to be Disabled if you have it.
Limiting iChat to use only 500kbps of your Bandwidth (a portion of your Internet speed in most cases) may get around the Threshold of DoS and help SPI cope.
There are some risks to Disabling these settings but mostly this depends on how big a target you appear to be on the Internet.
There is a smaller risk of suffering drive by attacks. However I have never suffered one in 5 years of using iChat.
I have not suggested changing any of the other settings in your device.

  • Troubles with D-Link DIR 600 and AirPort Extreme

    Hi guys
The question might has already been raised but I couldn't find anything in any other threads helping me.
I've got a new router (came along with my new ISP) D-Link DIR600 which I tried to connect to my AirPort Extreme to have a secondary WiFi available. My devices are connected in this way:
Internet Modem ---> AirPort Extreme (cable) ---> D-Link 600 (cable).
                                            |                                   |
                                            |                                   |
                                       WiFi(1)                          WiFi (2)
While my APE is just working perfect the D-Link doesn't. I can connect to my DLink Router though but the "Internet" somehow won't get passed through.
    Any help
    Thanks a lot

The dlink probably does not have a bridge mode.. so you have to use WAN bypass.
    See this post for details.

Or flash your DIR600 over to dd-wrt so you can use it in WAP mode.

  • C309g wireless setup with iMac i7 / Router D-Link DIR-300

Just trying to get the wireless connection. I've just the USB-cable for the installation process evereything worked out fine. Now the test report shows that everything is OK. In mac os the printer is added to the print&fax menu status: green light.
But i cannot print / connect to the printer when I open the printer utility.
Think it's an IP problem!? The IP-Range from the router is 192.168.... now the printer got another IP address 169.254....
I do not know how to process further. DHCP-Server on/off in the router settings? Assign the printer a fixed IP within the DHCP range? Every device in my wireless network is assigned with MAC-address and IP in the settings because I wanted to make sure nobody could connect from outside. I tried to assign a free IP in the range 192.168 but that didn't work any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Setup D-Link DIR-655 router help

    Greetings,
I'm trying to set up a D-Link Extreme Router (DIR-655) as the wireless router for my home. The setup wizard disc that came with the router doesn't appear to work on a Mac even though it says it's mac compatible on the box. I'm assuming I need to manually install the router which I have no idea how to do. My service provider is comcast and my modem is a scientific atlanta modem. I can connect to the internet by plugging Ethernet directly from the modem into my MBP. If anyone can point me in the right direction from here I'd really appreciate it.
    desperately missing wireless,
    JC

I have the same router D-Link DIR 655 coming and here is what I am thinking...
The CD is not for use with Mac, but finally on the net somewhere I found the answer to my question about plugging in and then immediately seeing the wireless connection, which I assume would be the case. Here is what I picture -- corrections welcome, as I will be doing this Monday. (I am way too spoiled using my iMac for a 'router' at home.. LOL it baffles the PC users... they can't find the router!)
Unplug the modem from the power supply.
Connect the Ethernet wire from the router to the modem.
Power up the router by plugging it in.
Power up the modem again by plugging it back in.
Now you should be able to see the wifi connection with a wireless laptop.
Type the default address 192.168.0.1 into FireFox and you should be able to skip to the Wireless configuration screen.
I'm trying to read about it as much as I can before it arrives. The thing I will have to do is this is for a business office and I'm not sure if I can also have another wire plugged from a computer into the modem as well as the router...because it makes me think that setup would two IP addresses. (I did this at home for years until the cable company shut me off... said I had to pay extra for 5 connections I was using with my hub!) So that will be a question for me to try to figure out.
Also, set the router on b and g not n, for the older cards, if you don't have the 'n' protocol.
So other than testing what I can do with my connection which is wired into the wall for another port on the opposite side of the room, I think that is how to start.
My first test will be to see if I can have the router connected on the opposite wall (because it will give a better shot for the signal to travel to the other rooms int he office) and have my laptop plugged in at the desk at the same time. The internet worked both from methods (plugged to the modem and plugged to the wall) but that was only one connection each time as I was alone doing this and only had a laptop with me.
Ideally I want the computer to be at the desk, able to plug into the modem, and the router across the way for the others to use on WiFi.
PS - the documentation was useless.. I am getting this info from reading other sources on the web....also be advised that you just plug in and get a WiFi connection I am going to assume it's 'open' and unless you are in a remote area at home, but in a building of other businesses like I am, you will need to password protect the wireless connection immediately.

  • D-Link DIR-615 (Rev H1(!)) does not work with Airport Express?

    Hi there,
I had my AirPlay working just fine with my Airport Express (AX) and my wireless N Router D-Link DIR-615 (Rev. B2). Now I changed my Internet provider and received a D-Link DIR-615 (Rev. H1) and I cannot find my AX anymore (I mean, it's still here, but the AirPort Utility cant find it!)
Are there known issues between those two?
(The Rev. H1/B2 is the Hardware Version of my D-Link DIR-615. The Firmware is up-to-date (8.01 I think))
The status light is a solid, beautiful green.
    I already tried the following:
    - restart the AX, the D-Link and my MacBook (10.7.2)
    - changed from AES to TKIP (found that somewhere in the internet)
    - Reseted my AX to factory settings and configured everything new. (via Ethernet)
    Probably interesting:
    - After resetting to factory settings and configuring everything new, the AX showed up in iTunes, but when I tried to connect with it, it kept me waiting for 1-3 Minutes and simply did not connect w/o error message. The AX disappeared after restarting iTunes.
    I'm running out of solutions..
Anyone a good question/suggestion or answer for me?
    greetings
    squob

Only way I see out other than waiting, is to hook he Drive to a Mac, (FW preferable for speed), then get Tri-Backup...

The Brand, Model, Hardware Revision of your Router and include the Firmware Version:=   Router = D-LINK DIR-655 A3 Firmware (rev.1.33NA)
The Method of connection your problem computer has to the Router: Wired or Wireless: Wireless
The Connection in use on the problem computer: Wireless g/b/a on PSP

Post the link to your Router Model,  http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=530
And any other information you think is important if answering your own post, and the nature of the problem, itself.
I have had a full functioning network with D-Link DIR655  hardware Rev A3 firmware rev 1.33NA,
with 5 PC's Dell XPS 730x, Alienware m17x,  Studio 1747,Studio 1749(touchscreen) Studio, 14z all using Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit, and one Macbook Pro 17", Plus a Dell mini 9 hackintosh( I did purchase  Retail10.5.4  and I placed the Apple stickers over the Dell logo.[ also have a PS#, and PSP 3000 (both have latest Sony firmware updates.]
All PC's with Win7 Pro x64,'s are connected using Network Magic Pro 5.5 pure-0, with the exception of the Macbook pro OS X 10.7 and hackintosh Mac X10.5.8  which both use the Mac version 4 network pro (Ver. for mac os x.) of which I bought a 3 pack, (To have them work with NWM 5.5 Pro, & share both files, and printers with the windows PC's)
Everything was working great until I updated the firmware on my DIR-655 from 1.2NA to 1.33NA.
Since then I have been unable to reconnect my PSP to the network. using  WPA 2 security, which is what I had before the firmware update. If it wasn't for the security additions, this firmware upgrade adds  to the router, I would have gone back to the previos version.
Here is what I've done in attempts to fix, and then my final solution.
In Network Magic 5.5, I have tried shutting off the network protection feature, and I also re-added the MAC Address, of the PSP to the Router's list of allowable hardware, when I added my list of all the others..
The PSP will start the handshake with the router, and then pause at the getting IP address screen, and finally timeout.
I is showing up on the Network Magic 5.5 Pro's Network Map area, which leads me to believe it is being seen and let in by the software's security feature.
I also tried to manually add an IP address, for the PSP, using the IP addy, it always seems to grab via DHCP [192.168.7.172] only to have it timeout the same way as it did before, with DHCP
As I needed Internet access to update the PSP and make purchases from the PSN, I decided to connect my older Linksys WRT54G (HW Ver 5) Ver.1.02.8 (I'm considering the DD-WRT firmware for all it's improvements) to the DIR-655 with a CAT 6 cable. Network magic see's this router, as I added it's MAC address to the D-Link MAC filter first.
I was able to use WPA Security with this router and the PSP connected without any problem.
I thought maybe something was wrong with the PSP-3000, but I'm able to connect to a friends Belkin router
    , using WPA 2
I setup the WRT54G using the studio 14z, as it's the lightest of my portables, with windows on it.
Should I add Network Magic 5.5 to the network that is my Router & PSP?
[I have a older thinkpad, that runs Windows XP SP3, which has just been sitting around, and my NWM 5.5
license is for 8 PC's and 3 Macintosh Computers.
    Thanks in advance.
Regards in getting my network correctly secured once again,
    DakotaJoe

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but from what I have read on the Forum and FAQ, you will need to un-install Network Magic from all of your computers making sure that no NM settings folders are left behind under users.  Then unplug all wired computers and rebuild your network by re-installing NM  in each computer before connecting it to your router.  After you have added all of your wired computers, set up your wireless network and install NM and add each wireless computer.
That is a lot of work.  I hope this helps.

  • Problem to connect to D-Link DIR-655

I have MacBook Pro with Lion 7.1 and a router D-link DIR 655 (with latest firmware). I have had problem with the WiFi connection now and then. Just now I can not see my router in list but I can see many neigbours. It happends that I can see the router but then I connect I got timeout, I have iMac also with Lion which is connected to the same router with no problem. I have alse a IPad connected with no problem. I can connect to my wireless mobilmodem with help of a Dovado 3GN Router (WiFi connection). So what I can see I can connect things to the D-Link router but not the MacBookPro and I can connect the MacBook Pro to WiFi but not to D-Link DIR 655. What shall I do?

Download the free KisMAC and in the driver preferences enable the Apple Airport PASSIVE mode in preferences and click scan.
You will need to enter your Admin password.
Use that to scan your neighbors wifi and determine the channels they use.
Reset your router channel so it's as far from the others as possible.

  • Have a D-Link DIR-655 Wireless Router and Having WEP or WPA issues? READ TH

I just contacted D-Link with the following Letter and wanted to post this here for anyone that may need it:
"I have to say that I do truly enjoy this product since I got it to work, but I have some things to clear up.
Are your Level 1 techs truly trained in networking equipment? I called 3 times for help with this issue and no one was able to help me nor completely understand my problem... I apologize for the tone, but it is frustrating when a tech repeats a procedure 4 times (I can understand repeating something 2 times if needed) - when I tell him it doesn't work I feel we should move onto another trouble shooting step. So what I would like to do is tell you what I did to fix the issue in case another person runs into this and they call you for support.
I have a an iMac (but this problem will be reproduced on any Mac with an Airport Extreme card) and I can only get on the internet wireleslly because of the location of my computer and the cable modem/router.
The DIR-655 that I picked up from best buy was Hardware Revision A2 and the Firmware was 1.05 (the latest at this current time)...
If I setup this router with the default settings. The wireless connectivity worked fine - although if I were to apply any type of security to the wireless settings (WEP, WPA 1 or 2 Personal) I would not be able to join the network. The Mac OS would keep telling me that there was an error joining the "xxxxxx" network (where xxxxxx was the SSID of my router). Anyways after tinkering for almost 3 hours and running back and forth resetting the router and testing with multiple Macs I was stumped and decided to get a copy of the 1.04 version of the firmware and downgrade the router back down to see if it was an issue with the latest firmware. Guess what - works perfect...
I would love to see a version 1.06 come out soon that addresses this issue and has the bug fixes from 1.05. But I can guarantee you there is something in the 1.05 firmware that will stop Macs from wirelessly connecting to the router when any type of wireless security is in place.
Please advise your techs of this issues and hopefully come up with a fix for this issue.
    Thank you for your time."
I hate when tech support eats half your day with something that could have been fixed in minutes if people are properly trained.

  • PC cannot see wireless Airport Express using Ethernet on D-LINK DIR-655 Router

This seems to be a recurring issue going way back, but I have yet to see a real solution posted.
I am using my Airport Express (APX) to stream music from the computers on my network to my stereo via Airplay.  I have APX set up to wirelessly join my existing wireless network, which uses a D-Link DIR-655 router hooked to a Time Warner cable modem.  I can succesfully connect all of my wireless devices via Airplay, through iTunes to my APX, including two laptops and an iPhone.  However, my primary desktop PC, which does not have a wireless card is linked directly via ethernet cable to my D-Link router, and it is not able to see my APX.  I can, however, see the Airport Express from my PC through my Airport Utility by directly typing in the IP address.  Note that the  APX set-up option to allow Ethernet clients is checked.  I also noticed that my laptops will stop detecting the APX if I directly connect them to my D-Link router via Ethernet and turn off their wireless cards.  They will resume detecting APX when I turn their wireless connections back on.  So, bottom line, I am convinced that this is not a firewall problem.  Although I have tried every conceivable setting of my D-Link router and APX, I am convinced it is either a wireless to ethernet communication issue, or some obscure setting on APX.. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Wayne

I think I found the fix based on reading some Apple TV forums where several people were having the same problem.  Under Advanced Network settings in the D-Link setup, I just checked "Enable Multicast Streams" and that seemed to do the trick.

  • Computer tend to freeze when accessing internet with D-Link dir-655 router

I recently bought a D-Link dir-655 router and since then my computer tend to freeze up completely when accessing internet. This also happens when certain programs access internet. Otherwise I am usually using Internet Explorer or Opera.
I've found that there are many who experience problems with D-Link router, that they may have problems with certain network card. Anyone who can say if this is a known issues and if it there is a solution or if it is better to buy another router?

    Hi, Ernst:
Would you consider backing up your files and doing a system recovery?
Maybe the OS has some corrupt registry files or something.
If you recover and then it still does that, your only choice looking at the motherboard is a PCIe gigabit ethernet adapter which would be relatively easy to install, or you could even get a USB ethernet adapter and not even have to open the case.
See if there is a setting to disable the onboard NIC if you have to add a network card.
I would rule out all software problems before buying hardware.
If you want to try some other malware program, I recommend the free Kapersky rescue disk. You burn the file to a CD and boot from it.  It scans the drive and deletes any malware or virus files it finds without the PC being in windows. A lot of times viruses and malware can't be removed when windows is running.
Link to the download and instuctions for use is below. I like to use the graphic interface rather than the text interface.

  • IPhone 3G won't connect to D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N Router

My wife and I picked up iPhone 3Gs last week, and we got home and instantly had issues connecting to our home's Wi-Fi. I assumed at first it was an iPhone issue, but think it's likely more an issue with my router. The router is brand new (two months old). I have updated the firmware to the most current (version 1.11). Both iPhones apparently connect to the router (they show Wi-Fi bars and it shows full strength), however, when I attempt to access the iTunes store, I got an error that it fails to connect, that I need to be connected to via Wi-Fi to access. I've tried everything with the router I can think of (turning of wireless security, using only WPA vs. WPA2, and having a very simple password). With each setting, it shows the phone is connected, but iTunes says I'm not. I've successfully connected to 5 other wi-fi routers without issue. Some have similar settings to my home router. Other router models I've connected to include Linksys, Trendnet, and D-Link. However, none of those have been a N router. I set my DIR-655 to work only in the wireless b and g range only, reset networking on my phones, but still doesn't work. I just don't know if there's something I'm overlooking on the settings that might keep the devices from working properly together. Any thoughts.

If it works on other networks it is most likely a compatible issue with your router (as you have surmised). Do you have MAC filtering enabled on your router? If so, have you entered the MAC address of the phone (In Settings/General/About it is called WiFi Address).
When you are connected to your router go to Settings/WiFi and tap the arrow to the right of the network name. Look at the IP address of the phone. If its pattern is 169.254.x.y this means your router is not assigning an IP address to the phone. That is almost certainly a router issue.
Next look at the DNS address. Is it the same as the DNS address on your other computers? As an experiment try changing it to a public DNS address like the ones provided by OpenDNS (www.opendns.com), 208.67.222.222.
