ROUTER HELP NEEDED!

Me and my roommate both have laptops and we both want wireless internet. We bought the linksys WRT5G2. But it will only work if one of the computers is plugged into the router.. can someone please tell us how to make it work?

Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude laptop, with it came a ENPWI-S2 802.11g WIRELESS CardBus.
I have that pluged in and installed. The status on my computer is that im connected and have full signal strength, but still not connected to the internet. The Wireless router that I have is a Linksys Cisco WRT54G2 V1.5. I have no idea what to do I took it to a computer shop, and the internet worked there, but for some reason it wont work at my house. It's making me oh so very  fustrated.
If anyone could help that would be great!!!
I would appreciate it alot.*

  • Wireless Router Help Needed! Please and Thank You

My warrenty has expired on my router, and Linksys is conveniently not able to help me get my router back on track.  I have had the same problem several times, and have had the steps wrote down to fix it however, I have recently moved into a new place and conveniently lost the paper.
Usually it was a matter of just cloning my mac ID and it would work, in which I tired that with no success!  Im frustrated and I need my internet for my schooling.
If anyone could help me it would be GREAT!  Im not able to be on the internet to check so often as to if I have a reply on here, so if you feel you can help please call me!
    Thanks in advance!

First Connect the Modem to the Linksys Router on the Internet Port and then connect your Computer to the Linksys Router on the Port no.1.
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
If your Internet Service Providor is Cable follow this link

  • Router Help Needed Badly!!!!!!!!!!

My nephew moved in to go to college and he needs to add his laptop to our wireless router.  We have tried to have him set it up like I set up my laptop.  It keeps telling him it is the incorrect password.  I have even tried resetting to the default settings.  Still nothing worked.  Please, please help us.  He is having to use a really weak network that has a lot of problems.

First of all you need to check the wireless settings (SSID and Security Key) of your Router.
Login to the Linksys Setup Page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar...The default password is "admin" in the lower case.
Go to Wireless Tab and note down the SSID....Click on the subtab wireless security and note down your network key.
Now search for your network and connect it on the laptop.

  • Setting up HP L-7590 via usb to wireless router, help needed..!

    Hi,
I have been using my L7590 via lan to a wireless router for a few years... that was perfrect...
Recently I had to change router because of change of ISP. The new router is a Huawei B683... the  problem I have is that this router does not allow LAN connections from the router ...!! It does has a USB port that is for the printer...
I am unsure as to how I setup the printer connected via usb to the router....
Do I use the network installation setup...? Or do I use the USB setup...??
    Any help is greatly appreciated...
    Thanks

    Hi,
Connecting the printer to a router's USB port (aka. print server) will only allow you basic print functionality , it won't provide you any scan functionality, faxing from the computer, ink levels or any operation of the HP Solution Center program.
To get full functionality you must work with the provided functionality which means USB connection directly to a single PC or Ethernet connection to a router.. therefore using an Ethernet router will be the preferred solution for you.
In order to setup the printer as you described you should connect the printer to the USB port and go to Control Panel > System. click add a printer and add it through the network.. there might be a need to enter your wireless homepage to enable the printer through the USB, there might be additional setup information in there.. that veries between different print servers and you may contact Huawei support or your ISP for any assistant within the print server configuration.

  • Westell router - help needed

Hi, hope someone can help me with this westell router problem.
I have A90-750115 Vesalink router.  My cable company set me with a static IP address. They told me to set my router to pull
static IP instead of dynamic IP from the modem. but the problem is I do nto know how to set the static IP on the router.
I checked online manual, but either I don't understand or it was not stated in the manual.
anyone knows how to set the static ip address on this router? or similar router in Vesalink line?
    thanks

#1 I take it you have all of the settings, not just the Static IP.
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers.
#2 If not, you need to get that first,
#3 I take it your cable modem is connected to the Uplink / E1 port of this Westell.
    Source: http://www.westell.com/images/extranets/pdf/VersaLink_7500_User_Guide.pdf
on page 9 out of 186 pages.
#4 And I take it, you did not change the LAN IP of the Westell
#5 Go to 192.168.1.1 and log-in as need be to this Westell.
#6 If prompted to change the Default Password (page 32 to 34 out of 186 pages), do so.
#7 In the router go to Network Connections -> Versa Port.
#8 With Ethernet WAN Uplink Selected, change the connection type to Routed IP Address.
#9 Where it says, tunneling say disable.
#10 Then the next two option are:
    a) Enable DHCP Client
    OR to
    b) Disable DHCP Client.
    #11 Select Disable DHCP Client.
#12 Then enter in the Correct settings that you were given.
    #13 Click on Apply

  • E1700 Advanced Routing - help needed

I am having trouble creating static routes through my Linksys E1700 (Rev v1, f/w 1.0.02. I keep getting errors on all routes I try to enter. Either I get a complain that a part of an IP adress is not in range 1-233  or I get the error message "Invalid route" when trying to save the route. Can anyone post what restrictions are enforced on the entered static routes? What I want to achieve is access to a separate ADSL modem that the router is attached to. That means that I have assigned the modem an IP adress that is not on the local network and need the router to pass this adress through the WAN port, but not to the ISP gateway. Something along the lines of: Local address of router and IP range used by DHCP in the router:  192.168.0.0/24Local address of ADSL modem: 192.168.1.1/24 I want to route:  192.168.1.1/32 through WLAN interface with gateway 0.0.0.0 Any ideas why the router does not allow me to do this? Also, if I could get any type of route through the E1700 WLAN interface I could assign my modem to match that (as long as it is not an IP address I need to use :-)  )  But I have not been able to set up any route to the WLAN interface with gateway 0.0.0.0. /Nils

  • Lynksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router - Help needed to share internet connection from PC to home network

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out with a problem I have:
I am currently connecting my PC to a mobile phone as a Wireless Access Point to give that PC access the internet. I also have a small home network, with one other PC and a Game Console. I own a Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router. My problem is this. How do I share that internet connection with the rest of the home network?
To the best of my knowledge its not possible to connect my mobile phone directly to my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router, although if anyone has any ideas how to do this I'd love to hear!
So my alternative idea is to connect to the internet via one PC, set up that internet connection as "Shared." and then allow the other devices on the home network to connect thru this. My question is how do I set up my  Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router to allow my other PC and game console connect to the internet? Bridge Mode? PPPoE? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! PS: both PC's are running on Windows 8

I have Cisco Linksys E900 router. I want to make my home Wi-Fi zone. But I don’t have Static IP. One more thing is that Service provider have web page Authentication. I have username and pass.
I am able to make SSID and security for my WI-FI LAN. I can use internet on one device. If I tried from second device again it’s asking me for username and password. While login it’s showing your first session in not logout. (Means I have to logout from 1st device and have to login on 2nd device.)
Is there any option that I can Use my all devices at same time?

  • Outboard effect routing help needed

I am trying to route the output of a track to a Korg Kaoss Pad and then have that outboard effect routed back into a new track. Using a pre-recorded audio track, how do I route that track out (I was using the headphone jack of the Mac as the out [i.e. line in of the Kaoss] and then routing the out of the Kaoss to the instrument 1 input on my Apogee Duet). I can't figure out how to assign the headphone output as the input of the new track. Sorry if this is too confusing.

    Midlake wrote:
I need the output of a recorded track to go into the Kaoss and the output of the Kaoss to be the input of a new audio track. The original track will remain unprocessed and a new track will be that processed by he Kaoss.
So? Forgive me if I'm just misunderstanding you, but:
The INPUT is the physical socket that the sound is coming INTO the computer through.
The OUTPUT is the physical socket that the sound is going OUT OF the computer through.
If you're sending the dry signal out of the computer to the Kaoss pad through the headphone out, that headphone out is your OUTPUT.
If that signal is run through the Kaoss pad and from there into the computer through the Apogee's Input 1, then the Apogee Input 1 is the INPUT channel that you need to select on the new track in Logic.
Logic 9 will output and input to/from different devices at the same time, so you won't need to build an aggregate device. However, if you change the output device to the headphone out, no sound will come out of the Apogee's output (which I assume is hooked up to your monitors), so you won't actually hear what you're doing until you're done recording and switch the output back.

    =====================
as we see above , we have high "IP Input" about differnece in cpu =67-54=13 % , which is high value process in software .
i follwed the article here :
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/7500-series-routers/41160-highcpu-ip-input.html
i check and found that my router is fine ,
    no arp calls.
    no routing loops.
    no flapping links.
i checked that my router has cef enabled and no enormous routing protocol updates
i found that i have big differnce between hardware & software process on the router which is 13 %
but when the traffic is more and more , the cpu reach reach 93 % and begin to have drops.
i just want to ask , how can i debug the operations that are done on the cpu processor of the router ???
i mean that if i know that traffic , i can estimate and know the problem  that increasing my cpu !!!
    another question :
how to debug the packest that has a ttl exceeded 50 or ttl exceeded 100 ?????
i dont wan tto make debug ip packed , because i have a huge traffic and it will let my router hanged due to large debug !!

  • WRT54G v6 Help needed!

Okay, I have a wrt54g v6 router that I use for 2 computers and an xbox (xbox live). Im getting an intermittent signal on all my devices and I have no clue as to why. All of my devices are connected via ethernet cable so I know its not wireless interference and i've changed everything I can think of that would cause this problem, firmware, MTU size, etc. I even created a static ip for my xbox. But the router is still getting degraded signals, the only thing I havent really done is uncheck all the boxes on my router firewall but to me that wouldn't do anything but allow more access to my already crappy network. If anyone has a solution or knows whats going on that would be so so helpful, thank you very much.

You might need to upgrade the firmware of the router as is normal for most WRT54G v6 routers.
    Verify the router firmware version
    1) click on start ---> run (type in cmd)
    2) on the DOS Prompt (type in ipconfig)
► take note of the default gateway value
    3) open up Internet Explorer and type in the default gateway value
    4) username: leave it blank password: admin
    5) go to the status tab: verify the firmware version
    ► if it's below 1.00.9 (i.e 1.00.0, 1.00.1, 1.00.4, 1.00.6, 1.00.7) then the router definitely needs an upgrade.
    To upgrade the firmware:
    1) download the firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads Look for your product model number from the list (i.e WRT54G v5)
    2) save the file on your desktop
    3) access the 192.168.1.1 page again
    4) go to Administration - firmware upgrade
    5) browse for the downloaded file and upgrade.
► Press the reset button of the router for 30 seconds and powercycle (i.e turn on and turn off the router).
► Reconfigure the router as per ISP settings.

Gigabit Ethernet 0/1 is connected to the wired LAN
I have created 2 wireless radio Cisco_Kamran_BGN which is operating at 2.4 Ghz Devices and Cisco_Kamran_A which is operating at 5Ghz Devices.
I have created 2 VLans for the Wireless.
    Vlan 10 for Cisco_Kamran_A        192.168.10.x
    Vlan 11 for Cisco _Kamran_BGN   192.168.11.X
The problem is the Wireless users are not getting the IP address from the respective DHCP server which has been configured on the Router.
Can please any from the community help me and show me where I am missing the configuration.

  • Password reset help needed

How can you reset password on a NEW iPad that has not been connected to a PC?  The one I used during setup is not working and I cannot get back into the iPad.

Once you reset the router, all of the customized settings of the router (network name, wireless security, etc.) will be erased and the router’s IP address will be reverted to 192.168.1.1, with a default password of “admin” and no username.  If you want to restore the router’s original settings without reconfiguring, you have to save a backup file.
There are two methods that can be used in resetting the router:
1] Resetting the Router Using the Reset Button.
2] Resetting the Router Using the Web-Based Setup Page.
Here is the link for resetting the Linksys router - http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Help-needed-unable-to-reset-my-router-password/td...

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post shutdownStall, spin, or hang reports.

  • Help needed for writing query

    help needed for writing query
i have the following tables(with data) as mentioned below
    FK*-foregin key (SUBJECTS)
    FK**-foregin key (COMBINATION)
    1)SUBJECTS(table name)
    SUB_ID(NUMBER) SUB_CODE(VARCHAR2) SUB_NAME (VARCHAR2)
    2           02           Computer Science
    3           03           Physics
    4           04           Chemistry
    5           05           Mathematics
    7           07           Commerce
    8           08           Computer Applications
    9           09           Biology
    2)COMBINATION
    COMB_ID(NUMBER) COMB_NAME(VARCHAR2) SUB_ID1(NUMBER(FK*)) SUB_ID2(NUMBER(FK*)) SUB_ID3(NUMBER(FK*)) SUBJ_ID4(NUMBER(FK*))
    383           S1      9           4           2           3
    384           S2      4           2           5           3
---------I actually designed the ABOVE table also like this
    3) a)COMBINATION
    COMB_ID(NUMBER) COMB_NAME(VARCHAR2)
    383           S1
    384           S2
    b)COMBINATION_DET
    COMBDET_ID(NUMBER) COMB_ID(FK**) SUB_ID(FK*)
    1               383          9
    2               383          4
    3               383          2
    4               383          3
    5               384          4
    6               384          2
    7               384          5
    8               384          3
Business rule: a combination consists of a maximum of 4 subjects (must contain)
and the user is less relevant to a COMB_NAME(name of combinations) but user need
    the subjects contained in combinations
    i need the following output
    COMB_ID COMB_NAME SUBJECT1 SUBJECT2      SUBJECT3      SUBJECT4
383     S1     Biology Chemistry      Computer Science Physics
384     S2     Chemistry Computer Science Mathematics Physics
or even this is enough(what i actually needed)
    COMB_ID     subjects
    383           Biology,Chemistry,Computer Science,Physics
    384           Chemistry,Computer Science,Mathematics,Physics
you can use any of the COMBINATION table(either (2) or (3))
    and i want to know
1)which design is good in this case
    (i think SUB_ID1,SUB_ID2,SUB_ID3,SUB_ID4 is not a
good method to link with same table but if 4 subjects only(and must) comes
detail table is not neccessary )
now i am achieving the result by program-coding in C# after getting the rows from oracle
    i am using oracle 9i (also ODP.NET)
i want to know how can i get the result in the stored procedure itsef.
2)how it could be designed in any other way.
    any help/suggestion is welcome
    thanks for your time --Pradeesh

Well I forgot the table-alias, here now with:
    SELECT C.COMB_ID
    , C.COMB_NAME
    , (SELECT SUB_NAME
    FROM SUBJECTS
    WHERE SUB_ID = C.SUB_ID1) AS SUBJECT_NAME1
    , (SELECT SUB_NAME
    FROM SUBJECTS
    WHERE SUB_ID = C.SUB_ID2) AS SUBJECT_NAME2
    , (SELECT SUB_NAME
    FROM SUBJECTS
    WHERE SUB_ID = C.SUB_ID3) AS SUBJECT_NAME3
    , (SELECT SUB_NAME
    FROM SUBJECTS
    WHERE SUB_ID = C.SUB_ID4) AS SUBJECT_NAME4
    FROM COMBINATION C;
As you need exactly 4 subjects, the columns-solution is just fine I would say.
