Router Interface Cards - Routing Feature

Dear Team,
I have a Cisco 3945 Router and have all the slots available with me. The interface card that I am looking for should have the same functionality as HWIC-2FE.
I need a 4 or 8 port Routed Ethernet Card. I looked for "VWIC3-4MFT-T1/E1" interface card as I was unable to find 8 port card.
Please let me know if this card can be used as a Routed Interface Card (I need to terminate different ISP Links on this card).
Regards,
Farhan.

Believe the module you mention provides serial ports, not Ethernet ports.  Also believe it supports routing.
Higher density Ethernet cards often support routing via VLANs (you can dedicate a VLAN per port), but not as routed ports.
What you also do, if you have VLAN capable switch, use subinterfaces on a router port to a trunk port on the switch.

Am considering buying a Time Capsule.  But all specs I read about it (re: printing) is how to hook up a printer via USB connection.  Need to confirm...that a wireless printer will work with the router feature of the Time Capsule.  I assume yes...?

A wireless printer connects to the network just like your computer, or iPhone/iPad, etc. connects using wireless.
The printer must be set up intially to scan to "find" available wireless networks, then your specific wireless network needs to be selected. Then the password for the network needs to be entered.
Once the printer is configured to join the network, it is always connected to the network. No further configuration is required.

  • Interface card slot divider replacement for 2921

    Hey,
I hope this is the right place for this question as it is related to the actual 2921 router case itself and not interface cards and the like. I have also not seen anything similar so here goes.
I am looking for information on how to order / acquire a couple of the interface card slot diverders that are removed when you install a double wide interface card on a 2921. You would remove this to install say a EHWIC-D8ESGP 8-port gig card as this takes up two slots. I have a couple routers that we are removing these cards from but before I can install other cards I need to replace the dividers. Otherwise the card is installed with a single screw and we are concerned about the cards coming dislodged if you unl\plug any attached cables. I placed a call into our vendor and they too are not sure about how to acquire a couple of these.
Any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance....
    Brent

    Hi Jessica,
No, the SD slot will not work, you need an ExpressCard/34 slot.
I do not know if it works with cameras, but with two or more HDs, if the first one has two FW ports, you can "daisy chain" one or more additional HDs from it.

  • UCS Virtual Interface Card 1280 failover

    Hi,
I'm facing some issues with failover and Cisco UCS Virtual Interface Card 1280.
I found some information regarding M81KR:
Cisco UCS M81KR has fabric failover
The Cisco UCS M81KR offers fabric failover, which enables interface failover at a physical level without involving the OS or hypervisor or certification overhead.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10276/solution_overview_c22-555987_ps10280_Product_Solution_Overview.html
    b)  Both uplinks of one FI fail or FI fails : In this case the corresponding server links will be shut since there is no uplink available on an FI. The FI will propagate link-down status to the adapter. Once adapter link-down status occurs, it is the responsibility of the operating system to re-pin traffic to the remaining NIC/HBA. The exception here is with Palo adapter (M71KR and M81KR) which supports fabric failover.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-18525
But I didn't found about Cisco UCS Virtual Interface Card 1280.
Cisco UCS Virtual Interface Card 1280 is newer than M81KR, anybody knows if 1280 has the same feature? is it possible the failover even if the Fabric Interconnect fails?
    Thanks,

    Hi Mauricio,
The VIC 1280 has fabric failover as well, from the spec sheet:
    Network architecture
Provides a redundant path to the fabric interconnect using hardware-based fabric failover

  • Using NI488.2, is it possible to configure the Interface card as a 'Listen-only' device

At one time, the older gpib.dll supported the ability to change an interface card register in order to allow the card to function as a Talk-Only or Listen-Only device. I want to do that with version 1.7 of NI488.2. How would I do that? If I switched to VISA, would I be allowed to do this?

    Hi..
We use a number of different NI Gpib cards here at work in conjunction with some RF test equipment in a development environment. Most of this equipment will only work in a Talker-Only mode and are meant to dump data to a Pen Plotter. My objective is to write a universal application that will allow the PC to emulate a plotter in a 'listen-only' mode. Some of our PCs are older ISA versions (Win98,etc) where others are PCI (Win2000,XP). I want to write the software so that any of these platforms could be used.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated..

  • UCS P81E Virtual Interface Card

    Hi all,
    This is a newbie question.
    1. Is the UCS P81E Virtual Interface Card compatible with Cisco Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X Series Switches 10GE Network Module (C3KX-NM-10G)?
    2. Does VIC require a DCE switch such as the Nexus 5000?
    3. Does VIC require a FCoE switch such as the Nexus 5000?
    4. Is there any other requirement?
    TIA
    Joseph

for server uplink to the LAN Nexus is not a must
FCoE if used you need a device support it like nexus if you not using it then you do not need
if want to use multiple gourp links/etherchanne you could use LACP with the Cisco switch
other requriments is make sure you allow the vlans created in you VM enviroment to be paased over the trunk link in the switch port

these are pseudo APDUs interpreted by the card reader. The mifare protocol is specific an proprietary, it has nothing to do with APDUs.
if your card is a dual interface javacard that supports mifare, then the card manufacturer may assist you on how to access the mifare memory zone from javacard.

  • Software and Interface card required for DNP3 communication with a protection relay?

I am looking to build a SCADA Master to perform DNP3 communication between the Master and an Outstation device. I would like to know apart from the Ni - Industrial comm software is there any other Interface card I require to accomplish this task?

According to this article, that’s all you need. Just make sure you run applications as an administrator and that you don’t have any type of network restrictions. Since you have it installed, I encourage you to test the functionality/connectivity through the shipping examples, which are located on your hard disc at ...LabVIEW XXX\examples\DNP3 folder (also visible at the NI Example Finder). You can modify an example VI to fit an application, or you can copy and paste from one or more examples into a VI that you create.

  • How do I set up LabVIEW V6.1 to output analogue signals using a LabJack U12 interface card?

    Hi there,
I have a LabJack U12 interface card that has two analogue outputs, AO0 and AO1. What I would like to be able to do is set up LabVIEW V6.1 to eventually control the dimming of some external lights, from say a simple control on LabVIEW's front panel.
I will have some external circuitry connected to the interface card to perform the dimming of the lights, so all I will require is a variable voltage on the output of the card. I think the specification of the card is 0 to +5 volts for the two analogue outputs. I have tried looking on the website for LabJack (www.labjack.com) for any ideas, but with no success! Please find my LabVIEW file as an attachment.
I would be very grateful for any help on this matter,
    Neil Sampson.

    On the labjack downloads page:
    http://www.labjack.com/downloads.html
Pick "Labview5 VIs" download. In the zip file is ljacku50.llb, which contains EAnalogout.vi for outputting an analog signal.

I would like to know working of dual interface card. Is it possible to write data on java card Via NFC or vice-versa?You either need to communicate with an applet on the card (that you develop) or interface with MiFARE. You SmartMX should have MiFARE as well as Java Card. What are you trying to achieve? If you can provide more details we may be able to add more information on how to do it.
Also, I want to know how to program java card & what kind of hardware I need for programing java card ?You will need a PC/SC compliant smartcard reader. You can get dual interface readers with contact and contactless interfaces.
    Cheers,
