Router problems - online troubleshooting didn't help

I have been using the router for 7 months now. Suddenly, the router has stopped working. The internet connection is on, when I directly connect the laptop (Mac) to the modem or the PC desktop to the modem, they are working. But neither is working when connected through the router. PC is wired, Mac is wireless.
Please help!
thanks!

What router are we talking about? Look on the label underneath the router and tell us the model and version of the router.
First: does the connection from the computer properly? Open a command prompt window ("Run..." and enter "cmd") or a Terminal window and enter "ping 192.168.1.1". Do you get any replies?
If you get replies, connect to http://192.168.1.1/ . Go to the Status tab and post your current connection status.
What kind of internet connection do you have? DSL or cable? Do you have to initiate the internet connection when the computer is directly connected to the modem or do you simply plug in the cable and that's it?

• IPod not recognized by Windows or iTunes, troubleshooting didn't help.

I have an 80 gig iPod classic. When I plug it into my computer it is not recognized by either Windows or iTunes. However, it does charge while connected. I have gone through every troubleshooting tip on the Apple website and nothing has worked. The only thing I was unable to try was restoring it because it needs to be recognized in iTunes in order to do so. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem.......
OK, after 8 hours.. It worked..... I was installling and uninstalling only itunes 9 but not all the apple components in my computer....... uninstall itunes 9 and all its components: Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod for Windows, iTunes, QuickTime.
Under the folder c:\Program Files delete the following folders:
Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod, iTunes, QuickTime
Search for any hidden folders named "Apple Computer" or "Apple" These may appear under AppData or Local/AppData, Delete these folders.
Restart your Windows machine and install itunes 9 and quicktime again..... good luck!!!!!

• Error 107 and the troubleshoot didn't help

I have been trying with no success to download the After Effects, however I constantly get error 107. I have followed all the steps on the troubleshoot adobe download assistant and as 107 is a communication error I tried stopping firewalls and internet security, and it still gives me the same error. Although I have managed to download flash Photoshop and audition with no problems. Do you know any solutions? (I'm using windows XP and using ADA 1.0.6)

Could be an issue with Adobe's site. Has happened a couple of times. Short of deeper network probing and analysis I don't see a way of enforcing this. You could however follow this advise and see if it works...

• Motorola Surfboard Modem SB6121 - TPLink Wifi Router Problem!!! Please Help!

I just bought a new router (TP-LINK) to upgrade my old router (Linksys). I've been running the Surfboard modem with the Linksys for years without problem. With this new router, I'm having issues with connectivity. I've spent past 3 hours researching problems and I think the reason why is that the Surfboard Modem only remembers the old router Mac Address (Linksys) and will not recognize the new routers Mac. I unplugged modem, reconnected to new router in hopes the modem remembers the new router instead of the old. It is now working for a few hours but then will revert back and wont work again. Am I doing this right? Can someone walk me through proper steps to have my Surfboard Modem forget the old router and save the new routers MAC address?

Can you let me know what you did to get it to work - even sporadically?

• Problems syncing ipod touch and updating all the software, etc didn't help

I went to sync it and itunes would freeze when it went to update a certain song (one which was fine before) so I deleted that song and it continued to sync after I rebooted itunes, etc. Gets to a different song (one which worked perfectly fine before) and then itunes freezes again. So I delete that and it continues. I then tried to sync after rebooting again and itunes freezes before it even gets to the songs. I tried a restore, etc but now half of my songs aren't on the ipod and things are not improving. Syncing just isn't going down here.

I tried part of this - it would probably take three days and a hundred CDs to back up all my music. I did the first part and changed the file. My problem there is that I store my music and podcast files on an external hard drive, so though I changed the file as per the instructions, since my storage area is not my hard drive, it didn't help at all. I did try copying all the music files into the new folder as instructed and did a sync - same problems as before - no syncing, freezing up, no content on the iPod. For some strange reason my podcasts come over just fine and they are in the same file as my music. If it's an iTunes issue, then I think you should replace it with the next older version until this issue is resolved. Very frustrating - this is the third day I've spent on it - I'd much rather be outside in the nice weather LISTENING TO MY MUSIC. Thanks.

Somebody please help me

Connect the iPad to iTunes, and do the update with iTunes.
The 4.1.2 ipsw file will not work, no longer supported.
The incremental update directly on the iPad does not work either, unless you are already on iOS 5.
Let iTunes do the job, you already lost too much time by doing it yourself.

I have a red vertical line on the right side of my screen and it will not go away tried restarting my computer and that didn't help at all, please help me with this problem it is kind of annoying

If it's a thin 1 pixel wide vertical line it's highly likely it could be caused by a defective LCD.
One quick basic way to check is to note the position of the line. Then go to System Preferences, Displays, and lower the resolution. If ther line moves it's on the video and the logic board or video card if fitted is likely to be defective. If the line stays in the same position it's likely to be an LCD fault. Either way to have it repaired you'll need to visit an Apple store or AASP.
The worst offender for this problem is the Late 2006 17" iMac. FOC replacement of the LCD used to be covered by a quality program, but it's now ended.

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
iMovie does not, AFAIK, use QT 10.

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

• CD burning problems - upgrade to v 9.1.079 didn't help

My CD burner has stopped working in iTunes. It starts to burn the first track, then stops and ejects the disc with an error message (error 4251). Before it started doing this, it burned a disc, then produced an error message after the fact (I didn't write it down at the time) saying it wasn't successful. That disc plays but some of the tracks are garbled. Ever since that burn, it ejects with error 4251 before getting through the first track.
After reading some postings on this board, I tried installing the newer version of iTunes, but it didn't help. Has anyone figured this out yet? Below are the diagnostics from my latest test.

There is the easy way (that costs a bit of cash, although your first 20 burns are free):

However with a DVD-RW you can erase the disk and reuse it with Disk Utility. Just click on your DVD drive in the left hand panel of Disk Utility and follow the instructions.

• My iPhone 5 the speaker probably doesn't work, I feel upset because my friends said to me don't buy it because the software of iPhone 5 have some problems and I didn't listen to them , now I would like to see how apple will help me !!!!!

The speaker of my iPhone 5 probably doesn't work and I don't know the reason although some of my friends said to me don't buy it because the software of iPhone 5 have some problems but I didn't listen to them

Check this support document for SIM issues http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148. No one here is Apple, we are users like you. We can only recommend you try Apple again, unless you are close to an Apple store and can make an appointment to go in there.

My iPad shows it is connected to the Internet wherever there is free wifi but it is getting up and I can't get it to work? I tried rebooting but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
''(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)''
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item:

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode''
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Check your Addons are uptodate!

• Every time I try to open my 2 year old copy of CS6, it takes me to the trial window. Updating either failed entirely or didn't help.

Apparently, there was a patch to fix this very same problem one year ago — i’ve tried it and it hasn’t helped. The first attempt failed to install. The second attempt supposedly succeeded but failed to help. I then tried going to the latest update -- 13.0.6 i believe -- but the exact same thing happened. It either failed to update successfully, or didn't help.
I’ve looking through my adobe account, and I can’t find CS6 registered with my products. Theres a copy of Elements 10 registered to the date when I believe my CS6 purchase occured, but whether this is new or not, I don’t know. I never peruse my adobe account enough to compare. Regardless, the serial number failed to help.
If there is anyone that can assist me, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of work I need to be able to get back to.

Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later
Download CS6 products
For anything beyond that you will have to provide proper system info and other details, which you haven't done so far.
