Router - Server Issues

Hi.
Where I work we have an exchange server and everyone has new laptops - before we just had static IP settings on the machines as I had to the the exchange servers IP address in as a DNS server to get the machines to connect, this of course causes issues with people taking laptops home as they then cannot connect to the internet at home with static IP settings put in for work. Is there a way I can get the router to route the correct traffic to the server, is there something I need to do with port forwarding?

This is going to be an issue with the office side of things, not allowing incoming connections, which is probably done for security reasons.
My guess is that you would have to setup a VPN, so that a secure connection can be made. The clients would have to be running VPN software, and their IP and DNS settings would have be be assigned automatically from whatever access point they are using.

DNS Router & Server Setup Issues

I'm running a Mac OS X Server on my local network. I have a D-Link 655 router that connects the machines and conencts to the internet.
I'd like to use OS X Server's DNS instead of my ISP's. In the D-Link Router I've set the DNS to the OSX server in the WAN section. Unfortunately it doesn't allow my clients on the network to connect to the internet when I do this.
If I set the DNS on the client to the OS X server it works fine. Or if I set the DNS on the router to my ISP's (or Google's) it works fine too.
Is this a route configuration issue? Or is this an OS X Server issue?
Any thoughts on how I might figure out where the problem lies and how to solve it?

Your DHCP server needs to pass out the IP address of your DNS server (only).
In general, you should not include any references your ISP DNS servers anywhere on your network. Not in your DHCP server, not in your clients, and not as a forwarder within your own DNS server configuration.
When you make the change, renew the leases of the devices that have the old address if needed, and alter the hard-set DNS server settings in the devices that don't use DHCP.
The one sort-of exception to this: your DNS server should have its Network settings DNS server address set as 127.0.0.1; as the localhost address. Not as its IP address.
And in general, routers don't do DNS. (Though it's common for folks to refer to devices that provide routing, NAT firewall, potentially VPN servers and other services as a "router", technically routers don't typically include DNS services. And very few gateway devices - even the fancy ones and expensive ones - implement DNS services.) Routers (and particularly the usual sorts of network gateways) can generallty have a DNS configuration for two reasons; to forward DNS requests to an upstream DNS server(s), and to have a DNS server address for an embedded DHCP server to pass out to DHCP clients.
In your particular case, the IP network connectivity is very likely present in both of your test configurations, it's that your clients aren't getting DNS translations.
Probably more than you ever cared to learn about setting up DNS services on OS X Server.

HP Connected server issues

My printer has been working well *. since I purchased it earlier this year. until about a week ago when I upgraded to the next level Instant Ink plan. Since then when I try to print the display on the printer shows a rotating circle with the word Printing. This remains for around 2 minutes, without printing anything, and then I get a message on the display that tells me that "The printer cannot connect to HP Connected". At the same time I get a pop up on my PC that "warns me" that the printer cannot connect to HP Connected and that this may cause my printer to stop printing. The terrible message concludes with the meaningless "OK" statement, having urged me to follow the printer's on screen display to make the connection. When I try to follow the instructions on the printer it merely confirms that the printer is connected. I usually cancel out of the setup and then, as if by magic, whatever I tried to print suddenly starts printing. So, my questions are?
1) Is this a common or at least know problem?
2) Is it caused by my having changed Instant Ink plans and if so what has HP done to cause this?
3) I have not knowingly changed anything on my system other than the HP Instank Ink plan so why does the printer no longer connect to the HP Connected server to update that system with details of my print usage?
4) Is there a fix/workaround that will prevent me from having to manually coax my printer to work again?
I have already used the HP Updates function and have reset/restarted both the wireless router and my PC.
* I do occasionally get messages saying that the scan function isn't available because it's lost connectivity but this seems to rectify itself without having to do anything else.

Multiple access server issue remotely

I have two rack with two access server.How can I access both remotely with linksys router.I did port range forwarding but only one rack is accessible.Please advise

A TCP connection to a router is established using an IP address. Using the host name is valid only when you are initiating an rcp or rsh command from a local router. The host name is converted to an IP address using Domain Name System (DNS) or host-name aliasing. To allow a remote user to execute rcp or rsh commands on a local router, you must create an entry for the remote user in the local authentication database. You must also enable the router to act as an rsh or rcp server. To enable the router to act as an rsh server, issue the ip rcmd rsh-enable global configuration command. To enable the router to act as an rcp server, enter the ip rcmd rcp-enable command. The router cannot act as a server for either of these protocols unless you explicitly enable the capacity

Failed; 5.4.3 (routing server failure)

First time posting on here, I run Outlook 2013 on my pc and have had no issues, but for the last 24hrs one of the people Im emailing I keep getting back the following message "Failed; 5.4.3 (routing server failure)" is this a issue at my end? BT? or the ISP of my contact? all my other emails and others on the email distribution are getting mail from me. This contact is important for my business so any tips would be gratefully received.

Make sure she has correct address, make sure you have correct address from your "sent from". Send your self an email and see what happens. The problem is with the service you use or you somehow do not have the correct address to yourself...

DNS Server Issues with Comcast and Airport Extreme wifi routers

I am having significant challenges with 3 Airport Extreme (latest gen) wifi routers and my Comcast Xfinitity service. It once worked just fine, but now I continually get the blinking amber lights stating "No DNS servers" for each of the Airport Extreme (AE) routers. My configuration is:
Coax cable -> Comcast Xfinity cable modem -> ethernet to 16-port gigabit ethernet switch ->->-> ethernet to 3 Airport Extremes around the house direct connected with switch
I have many wifi devices throughout the house (iPads, MacBooks, home automation devices) as well as direct-connected devices via ethernet (one PC connected to AE router).
Each Airport Extreme router is set with these settings in the Airport Utility app:
Internet tab= Connect using: DHCP
Wireless tab= Network mode: Create a wireless network
Network tab= Router mode: Off (Bridge Mode)
I have attempted to put the Xfinity cable modem in bridge mode, and use the Airport Extreme to serve up the IP addresses, but still lost internet connectivity.
I have also attempted to set the Network tab=> Router Mode to "DHCP and NAT" but get "Double NAT" error issues as well.
I have tried using the Comcast DNS server addresses (75.75.75.75;75.75.76.76) setting on the Internet tab for the routers and do end up getting a green light, but NO internet connectivity.
Lastly, I have tried using the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8;8.8.4.4) setting on the Internet tab the routers giving me the No DNS servers amber light error and again, no Internet connectivity for either wifi-connected or even ethernet connected (directly to Airport Extreme router) devices (like my PC) despite getting a green light on the router.
Any this point, it really seems that these AE routers are NOT compatible with the Xfinity cable modem or service… (and yes, I've tried power-cycling and restarting the modem, and then the AE routers, MANY times to little avail).
Should I move one of these Airport Extreme wifi routers to before the switch, and have the other 2 in Bridge mode after the switch? Do I need to setup a specific range of DHCP reservation addresses for each different AE router?
Appreciate any insight anyone can share with this aggravating DNS server issue between Comcast & multiple Airport Extreme wifi routers.

I do not see anything wrong with your basic setup.. the issue is indeed the WAN ports of the AE.. AC version are having problems with some network equipment.
You have listed a stack of things you have tried.. but I want you to move the ethernet patch cable you use on each AE to its LAN port instead of WAN.
Restart the airport when you do that.. and then see if it becomes stable.
In bridge mode the airport moves the WAN port to LAN.. but the WAN port setup itself seems more problematic than the LAN ports.
There are other methods we can try if this does not work.. but in the end.. I would be tempted to take the whole lot back to apple.. they need to start making equipment that works with standard modems and switches.
BTW what brand is the 16 port switch?? Does it happen to be managed (smart type)?

I have cheked jvm version on both system the only difference is :
Solaris points to jdk 1.5.0_09
Windows point to jdk1.5.0_05
Even i tried to run blank jsp also but again i got the same error.
Can any help me to sort out the problem or give me any idea so i can do something by my own.

They said I need to change my settings to NAT settings. I haven't been able to figure out or find anything. I have also spoken to Apple Support on the phone for hours without being able to figure out how to do this ( i don't think he knew much either lol.) I changed some mail account settings to fix the issue, and was able to start receiving e-mails. However, all of my historical e-mails are gone. How do I retrieve all of my old e-mails from the server?

What settings did you change, what were the changes, have you visited www.icloud.com to see what mail is actually there? and do you have a backup?

Query on Topology for working with Routing Server

We have just started working with Routing Engine. We have a sample street data. For working with routing server, whether we need the topology to be built?
If we have a topology can we use with routing server?

The routing engine requires data in a particular form. It does require a node and edge table as well as oher information.
In appendix c of the 10g Release 2 documentation is a description of the tables and the XML elements (such as us_form1, street, lastline, etc) required for the routing engine. If you have data that can be massaged into this format then you can do the massaging and load and use it.

ROUTING SERVER ERROR

I am using oc4j routing server. I created the node and edge tables as per the documents but it did not create partition table. I tried procedures sdo_router_partition.PARTITION_ROUTER but i got error that "PARTITION_ERROR" does not exists. Then i downloaded the sample navtech data and imported successfully into my database. I start OC4J but routing engine throws an exception - " java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException". Since I am new to oracle spatial and oc4j i can not figure out the error. Please help.

I have a Samsung S2 and I use the following settings for a POP3 account. The only difference for you if you want to use IMAP should be changing the incoming port to 993:
Incomiing Settings:
Username: [email protected]
Password: xxxxxxx
POP3 server: mail.btinternet.com
Security Type: SSL
Port: 995
Outgoing Settings:
SMTP server: mail.btinternet.com
Security type: SSL
Port: 465
Require sign in: Ticked
Username: [email protected]
Password: xxxxxx
If they don't work I would delete the account, restart the phone then try and set it up again. You should be given the option to set it up manually. Use that option rather than letting the wizard do it and when entering username and password make sure that they are spelt correctly and they are case sensitive.
If it still does not work for you can you download Aquamail mail client from the Play Store and set it up to see if it works.

We have about 200 users that connect to three terminal servers. On the servers we have Office 2013 installed. Several users are stating that when they attempt to search for templates or insert Online Pictures, they are getting error messages of "Sorry,
we are having some temporary server issues. You can work off line if you plan to insert pictures from your computer"
Remember, they are connecting to a terminal server, all have roaming profiles, and for some users this works fine.
We've Googled the error message and found no help. A lot of responses was to reset the IE settings, which we've tried to no avail.
Also as a test, we took one of the users that was having the issue and deleted their profile. When they logged back on the server, the same problem occurred again.
We're currently at a loss as to why it works for some users and not others?
Any ideas out there?

i have DEV, QAS,PRD landscape with ecc6 hp-ux. oracle data base.
sap router was installed in the win2003 server (separate server). and it was working perfectly one of my client has formatted the sap router server bcoz of virus. i have the backup of D://usr/sap/saprouter Directory. i have google and find that we can restore the DIR,
my query is .. after restore what should i do now..should i set the environmental variable after restore of the DIR,
please guide me.

Why is it that on searching "routeserver" (route server as well) in spatial forum, lists only 2 results? Is oracle route server not used? or am I missing something.
The rationale behind this post is that I am trying to setup routeserver after installation, and want to mock up data as well. Unfortunately, I do not see much activity regarding routeserver in oracle spatial forum. I thought I would post before continuing to have this set up working.
Any information or guidance is appreciated.

Help!Electronic noises,server issues,console messages,ethernet -PowerPC G4

I've been searching the internet as well as the Console and Activity Monitor for answers to this scenario, and it looks as though there is some kind of relationship between recent strange sounds I have been hearing over my speakers and server issues (my IP? Apple servers? spyware? )
Immediately below, are some of the log messages I have copied (for terminology examples).
Below them will be the description of the sounds I've been hearing, and potentially related details.
The first of the log examples documents something that happened when no one was home to use the computer. The second describes some kind of process that might be suspicious. The third describes what is happening a lot lately, and it seems to correspond with the sounds I referred to as well as with simultaneous increases in network activity shown on the Activity Monitor

I have recently been getting both a tapping and a buzzing sound through my speakers. Both kinds of sounds come together, intermittently and repeatedly, and each time, the volume rises, peaks, and fades away again (or stays faint until it starts to rise again). Today, once, there was a squeal-ish sound (not like a fax) as well, paralleling the other sound. These episodes vary in duration.
The Activity Monitor has shown increases in the Network window when these sounds have occurred, but I don't remember whether the greater increases were incoming or outgoing--I think, incoming.
When this first started happening, I was also seeing a lot of "Network Transition Occurred" messages in the log. Now I am seeing mostly "Macintosh mDNSResponder: Couldn't read user-specified Computer Name; using default "Macintosh-000000000000” (or “Macintosh-00112474A206)” instead" messages.
It all started happening after I uninstalled a trial version of ProtectMac (at the end of March), as well as set up a separate log-in for my grandson to use (major changes for the first time in years, which also caused me to lose a lot of things like bookmarks, saved music in iTunes, home movies in camera related software, pictures in iPhoto, etc...). Somewhere along the line I also lost iSync and just left it off.
Are these noises servers trying to communicate with my computer, which I somehow happen to be hearing as transmitted static/feedback/or signaling?
I have a 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4. I use a DSL, ethernet.

Try putting these numbers in Network/Advanced/DNS.
Add these numbers to DNS Servers
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK. These are safer/faster than most ISP's NDS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.
