Router stops all traffic randomly, why?

I recently bought a slingbox.  My problem has been, since I hooked it up, it constanly broadcast streaming video out to their servers so I can access it from anywhere.  Since I installed it, after a few hours of running, it stops transmitting all data.  Is there a cap on what it will process outgoing before it stops, and if so, how do I remove that?

hi , what router are u using ? what are your current settings ?? also ensure that u have the latest firmware for the router.

  • SonicWall SourceNAT VPN setup as default route for all traffic!

Hi,OK hope someone can help with this mess.....Our customer has been taken over by a US company who have said all outgoing internet traffic must go via their data centre. They want us to create an IPSEC vpn from our SonicWALL TZ215 to them then route all traffic locally via this VPN.In principle this didn't sound too bad. Then there were some more options:Our local subnet 172.x.x.x has to be NAT'd to a single /32 address. 192.x.x.131They also require our destination network to be set as 0.0.0.0. as they wont specify the range at the datacenter.I have managed to get the VPN up but using the the NAT address as my local subnet and using the option on the SonicWALL "Use this VPN Tunnel as default route for all Internet traffic" on the remote network. Phase 1 and Phase 2 work ok. The problem i now have is i need to route all LAN traffic...

    Hi Norbert,
I am sorry to say that configuring routes in Azure Virtual network is not supported. I recommend you to submit your reuqirement on Azure Feedback and hope it would be released soon:

  • RV016 Router Allow All Traffic For Outside IP

    Hi,
I need to configure the firewall to allow all traffice for an IP address of a sever. What steps in the router do i need to configure this? This is a cloud based voip server and we have IP phones and we need to add an IP address of the phone server to allow all traffic for that IP.
    thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,
I have a similar problem with VOIP traffic being dropped by my new RV016 v3 router.
I have created one Firewall Rule, to allow ALL traffic from the external VOIP PBX provider (single IP) to connect to the internal VOIP phones, which have assigned addresses in a small IP Address range (eg. 10.1.2.50 - 10.1.2.59)
The Aastra VOIP phones continually loose their  registration wtih the cloud-based PBX. If you make an outgoing call, it will work, but the PBX will lose connection with the phone, 3 or 4 minutes after you hang up,  and will mark it as offline. Incoming calls made within the 3 or 4 minutes will get through, but after that they go right to voicemail on the PBX system.
We used to have an RV016 v2 router and VOIP traffic worked  OK,  with a similar Firewall Rule.  We replaced the v2 router  because its CPU crashed.
I tested the VOIP traffic with a WRT160 router with minimal Firewall Rules, and it works OK, as long as SIP-ALG is turned Off.   We want to use the RV016 because it provides a larger number of ports for our LAN.
    Any suggestions ?
    Kirk

    =====================
as we see above , we have high "IP Input" about differnece in cpu =67-54=13 % , which is high value process in software .
i follwed the article here :
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/7500-series-routers/41160-highcpu-ip-input.html
i check and found that my router is fine ,
    no arp calls.
    no routing loops.
    no flapping links.
i checked that my router has cef enabled and no enormous routing protocol updates
i found that i have big differnce between hardware & software process on the router which is 13 %
but when the traffic is more and more , the cpu reach reach 93 % and begin to have drops.
i just want to ask , how can i debug the operations that are done on the cpu processor of the router ???
i mean that if i know that traffic , i can estimate and know the problem  that increasing my cpu !!!
    another question :
how to debug the packest that has a ttl exceeded 50 or ttl exceeded 100 ?????
i dont wan tto make debug ip packed , because i have a huge traffic and it will let my router hanged due to large debug !!

  • Wifi stops passing traffic on original ipad and ipad 2 running ios 5.0.1

I actually just started having this issue with my Original iPad and my iPad 2. From what I'm seeing is not a loss of signal but a loss of connectivity, they just stop passing traffic. When this is happening its sometimes to both iPads but not always. And both our iPhones do not experience the issue while the iPads are having the problem. (all devices running ios 5 and connected to the same AP). Wired devices also do not have any issues wile this is happening to the iPads.
What I have tried so far:
    1. Changing Channels on the AP to a less congested channel (didn't help)
    2. Shutting wifi off on ipad, then turning back on, solves issue for a random amount of time, then it happens again
    3. Rebooting ipad, sometimes does not help at all until you turn off the radio on the ipad, then back on
I was ready to get a new router/ap but after reading some other comments, this may be an issue with other people.

I have exactly the same issue on my brand new iPad2 running iOS5.
I have also changed the channel, tried different settings, etc. to no avail.
It tends to happen when streaming video - Skype, YouTube. Also during movie downloads.
My pc does not have this problem.
We're you able to find a reliable solution?
    Thanks!

  • Firewall Allow all traffic on lan

Is there a way to make a firewall rule to allow all traffic on en1? I have my ip ranges set to allow all traffic, but I still have to turn the firewall off for DHCP to give IP addresses to new devices on the network.

    dtich wrote:
thx dean, yes, i had certainly looked at the log, which shows these entries:
    Nov 11 21:49:25 north-knoll-server ipfw[8789]: 65534 Deny UDP 169.254.14.242:138 169.254.255.255:138 in via en0
but i have no idea where 169xxx is, nothing on my lan... if the port is 65534, that's an ftp passive port, tried opening that, doesn't solve the problem. if the port is 138, that's netbios, which would be odd, but i tried opening that too. nothing doing. can't figure it out. and the log really isn't helping too much.
    traceroute gives me:
traceroute to 169.254.14.242 (169.254.14.242), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
    1 169.254.14.242 (169.254.14.242) 0.593 ms 0.504 ms 0.195 ms
so, i guess that's some internal address that my router uses or something..?? wacky. i'm out of my depth here.
if i allow 169.254.x.x, i still get no joy.
    mean anything else to you?
yeah, 169.254.x.x is part of the zeroconf net address range. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeroconf for more details)
Not sure why the device in particular is trying port 138 unless it's Windows box maybe? Is en0 on your local network or external?

  • 5505 stops passing traffic with 9.1.3

I have a 5505 setup in my home office.  It generally works well but I noticed when I upgraded it to 9.1.2.8 it would stop passing traffic after a few days.  I figured this was just the interim release blues and waited until 9.1.3 came out.  However, with 9.1.3 the problem is even worse.  I'm actually not exactly sure what's going on.  Here's what I've noticed:
I get a lot of DNS connections with the "h" flag (H.225 traffic) set.  This seems like it might have some relation to the problem:
    UDP outside  216.218.130.2:53 inside  192.168.234.146:50705, idle 0:00:18, bytes 534, flags h
I also get these in 9.1.2 (which works fine), but far fewer.  When traffic stops passing on my ASA, I notice that I have tons of these connections in 9.1.3.
When traffic stops passing, the ASA itself can no longer get to the Internet.  I can't ping my Comcast router (actually in my office, L2 adjacent to ASA).  I also have some SLA probes going to the Internet which fail.  If I do a clear conn all, then everything starts working again for a while.  The BTF (dynamic-filter) feature seems to make it worse.  If I remove it (remove dynamic-filter-snoop part) then it takes a lot longer before it stops passing traffic:
    policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default
      inspect dns dns-ipm dynamic-filter-snoop
What's really strange, is even if I remove all service-policy commands, I still get connections with the "h" flag.  I don't believe that should be possible so perhaps a bug?
    Ideas?

  • Music stops abruptly at random times?

    Hi all.
New 16Gb 3G iPhone. I listen to music on it quite heavily, so it's on most of the day while I program at my desk at work.
Over the past 2 or 3 days, it has started doing something really annoying. All of a sudden, it will stop playing a song it's in the middle of and the screen goes black.
And that's it. Nothing else happens until I intervene by pressing the menu button. Once I do that, it takes me back to the main menu of the phone, and I have to go into the iPod portion again and start playing the music again, as it totally resets itself.
    Anyone else having this problem.
The first time this happened, I figured someone had tried to call me and hung up before I got to it, as it is initially that same sort of hesitation you get momentarily prior to a call coming through.
However, it has happened several times now and definitely isn't for this reason. Although I suspect maybe my mail is trying to sync or it is doing some other routine chore in the background that is causing it to have a problem.

I just bought my iPhone 3g last week, and I noticed last night while taking a walk that the songs stop and start randomly. I turn on music (listening through my head phones) and the song will stop. Then a few seconds later it starts, and plays for a few seconds, then pauses. It's like an invisible hand is doing things, because the play/pause button changes by itself.
Not only is this super annoying, but I don't understand why it only does this with the headphones plugged in (and they're the original iPhone headphones, right out of the box)....it DOES NOT do this when I have it plugged in to my car's aux port.

This is why i need it
We have migrated our BO from 3.1 to 4.0 in UNIX environment so its a prod parallel environment
and we are going to keep the old production environment running too for a week just to test the new one is fine or no.
But for 4.0 we have new prod environment and new CMS database
Next we are going to get all the data using BO Upgrade Tool
As Unix has complete upgrade it will get all the scheduling info too
Now i don't want the reports to run in our old production environment and new too
So which process should i stop which will only stop the Scheduling and wont impact other part.

    Priyanka,
You need to STOP the Adaptive Job Server, this will STOP all scheduling jobs.

  • Stops Reading at Random Intervals

    hello,
we wrote a program for our hot plate and for some reason it will suddenly stop reading at random intervals and give a result of 0's for heating and stirring. we're not sure why this is? is it a hardware problem or a visa read/buffer problem?
    thanks

  • Switch port in dot1x multi-auth mode stops passing traffic

    Dear All,
I am experiencing a problem on a Catalyst 4510 (cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-53.SG.bin) with 802.1x configured. Client PCs are connected via a mini desktop switch to a Cat 4510 switched port in multi-auth mode. The configuration of the port follows:
    interface GigabitEthernet2/34
    switchport mode access
ip arp inspection limit rate 30
    authentication host-mode multi-auth
    authentication port-control auto
    authentication periodic
    authentication timer reauthenticate server
    dot1x pae authenticator
    dot1x timeout tx-period 5
    dot1x max-reauth-req 6
    spanning-tree portfast
    ip verify source vlan dhcp-snooping
    end
It happens from time to time that the Cat 4510 port stops passing traffic. Reconnecting the mini switch recovers the communication. Client PCs connected to the mini switch seem to be authorized at the moment when the problem occures. The RADIUS Termination-Action attribute is set to RADIUS-Request. The problem is not present if "authentication periodic" is disabled.
Did anyone experience a simmilar problem? Any advice?
    Thanks.
    Mirek

We have the same issue on 3750E switch running 12.2.(58)SE

  • Forwarding all traffic to a new IP

I've got a machine with two NICs in it which is currently acting as a transparent firewall (i.e. just bridge the two NICs and watch traffic). I've added a third NIC and want to send a copy of all traffic that goes through the bridge out through the new NIC to a separate box so I can run an IDS or packet logger on it. How can I do it?
I've tried fighting with various iptables rules but not gotten anywhere.
I've got the daemonlogger script (http://www.snort.org/users/roesch/Site/ … ogger.html) which copies all the traffic on the bridge to the new NIC but I'm stuck with actually sending it out from there.

To move SQL to New IP:
To assign a TCP/IP port number to the SQL Server Database Engine
In SQL Server Configuration Manager, in the console pane, expand SQL Server Network Configuration, expand Protocols for <instance name>, and then double-clickTCP/IP.
In the TCP/IP Properties dialog box, on the IP Addresses tab, several IP addresses appear in the format IP1, IP2,
up to IPAll. One of these is for the IP address of the loopback adapter, 127.0.0.1. Additional IP addresses appear for each IP Address on the computer. Right-click each address, and then click Properties to
identify the IP address that you want to configure.
If the TCP Dynamic Ports dialog box contains 0, indicating the Database Engine is listening on dynamic ports, delete the 0.
In the IPn Properties area box, in the TCP Port box, type the port number you want this IP address to listen on,
    and then click OK.
In the console pane, click SQL Server Services.
In the details pane, right-click SQL Server (<instance name>) and then click Restart, to stop and restart SQL Server.

  • Music spontaneously starts, stops, stutters at random and I'm not even using that app. Repeated attempts to pause the song and close the app have no affect. Just keeps popping on and off randomly no matter what I'm doing at the time.

How do I eliminate this glitch?  Music spontaneously starts, stops, stutters at random and I'm not even using that app. Repeated attempts to pause the song and close the app have no affect. Just keeps popping on and off randomly no matter what I'm doing at the time. I tried double-clicking the Home button which brings up all of the active apps, touched and held the Music icon until all the icons started wiggling, tapped the Close icon in the upper left corner of the Music app to close the app completely, but the app is still open and still randomly stuttering. I did notice that the play button icon flashes in the upper right corner of the screen when this happens and it appears and disappears in concurrence with the Music app stuttering. When the music starts, the icon appears and when it stops, the icon disappears again. When the music stutters on and off, the icon appears and disappears rapidly and in sync with that random glitch. This just started today for no apparent reason. I turned the iPad off, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. As soon as it was finished starting up, the same music glitch began again immediately. I'm using iOS 6.1.3.

Well, no one seems to have any answers or ideas for me, I'll update what I've been able to accomplish.
I reloaded all 14 disks in the time frame of watching Lord of the Rings on Fri. nite.
Funny thing is, the first disk pulled the info from the online store! Hooray!
Wait-then all the next 13 could find no information online...what the heck is up with that? So I MANUALLY assign each disk a new track # to co-inside with each disk, spent about 2 hours doing that.
But still, itunes tells me my playlist is too large, there's not enough space on the ipod. so I unchecked 1 1/2 disks (I'd listen to 1/2 of disk 1 previously) and voila! there's my ipod full of my book. Finally. But what a lot of bother just to keep things in order!

  • No internet access when "Send All Traffic" VPN Checked

    Hi Ladies and Gents
Wonder if you can help me. These past few days I have been setting up a VPN on my DD-WRT enabled router. I have successfully accomplished such task, however when I'm connected to the VPN on my phone my public IP address does not change, after doing some reading I believe that is because "Send All Traffic" is unchecked in the VPN profile, but when I check "Send All Traffic" I get no internet access what so ever.
Any advice/input/solution to this would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Stop all Oracle Services

I am upgrading/patching my test 10g database. While upgrading it ask you stop all oracle services in order to continue the upgrade. I did that but it is still asking to stop all oracle services. Now what do I do, anybody have experience with that.

First, make sure you don't have any thing automatically started, and don't use even sqlplus, as a client it will load several dll's and when the upgrade process starts it will mark several dll's as being used.
I've been working with win2003 several upgrade processes, I don't know exactly why, but several dll's are still marked as being used, even if the host was restarted with the service set to manual start. The exact list of dlls that are in this situation correspond to those used by an oracle client.
The workaround I found for my specific case was to rename the dll's and let OUI to write the new version.
