Router & Switches IOS for the CCNA

Hi,
I'm in the process of gathering my Cisco equipment for my CCNA course I have around 28 + devices given to me and bought through online auctions over the last few years. I want to find what IOS is suited for the course, relevant to each piece of equipment, I'll be able to upload the list of equipment with the current configuration hardware attached and the current version of IOS to each unit

Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.

This is the version required by the Apple Store when I try to install apps.
For you understand better my problem, I'm not able to install simple apps like facebook and skype

For the router/switch I would suggest to evaluate the 6500.
For firewall the ASA5540, 5550 and 5580.
For IDS 42.40, 42.55 and higher.

You are very welcome...an iPad 1 is still a good machine, but the memory is small and the processor is slow...I have one that is still in daily use but it is definitely limited.

What version IOS for the 6500?

The CCIE Voice Blueprint indicates that the 6503 uses "Switch OS version 7.6x"
Since the current version of IOS is 12.4, is this really accurate?
Im trying to focus my studies and want to focus on the correct Supe with the correct IOS

The 6500 on the LAB uses CATOS not IOS, so this explains the versioning error. use 7.6x of CATOS and you'll be good.

How trust worthy are the dip switch OC for the NF980-G65

Love the idea of just flipping a switch to OC, especially for someone like me that lacks experience over clocking. Just don't know how trust worthy it is to do it this way. I did try the first level setting at 10 percent. Jumped my processor from 3.2 to 3.5 very effortlessly. Also automatically boosted my RAM. I was messing with RAM timing in the BIOS around the same time and when I restarted my computer the video wouldn't display. Had to reset the CMOS and set the dip switches back to default to get everything working again. Now I'm afraid to try them again.
Anyone else have any success using the dip switch OC method?

HI. I have a 785gm-e65 board wht switches. I have tried all settings, but 20 % got me the blue screen right off.
I am at 15% 3.68gz. The front side bus is at 230 and the cpu multiplier at 16x. all settings did one step on the
memory speed, i did not try to change anything. I run flight simnlator FSX and it has 3 cores at 100% and am stable.

HT4972 upgrading ios for the ipod touch

Does any one have an idea of how to upgrade from iOS 4.2 with my iPod touch. I'm unable to upgrade to any higher version. When I try it ITunes says it's already up to date. I've tried many on line suggestions and I'm so frustrated. I've even manually downloaded iOS 4.2 and tried to "force" the upgrade to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't have a 3 or 4G of the Touch. Earlier versions cannot be upgraded to iOS 5.

Hi, I have just brought the 17' Mac book Pro two months ago. However, I found out that this new laptop's wireless connection is unstable. Compare with my 2010 13' Mac Pro and ipad2, the result is significantly responsible with the new wireless card model.(Correct me if I am wrong)

TS3920 There is no support in IOS for the Australian Time Zone "Eucla".

You can't do that at Apple. Apple, however, offers a recycling service, which might give you some $$$ back.

Fail to sftp to Router/Switch for remote IOS/config upgrade

I have ssh2 enabled on a cisco3750 & 7204 running IOS 12.2 & 12.4 respectively both with "ip scp server enable" configured, the idea being to sftp configs & IOS down to them. I can open a V2 ssh session to each device no problem. When I attempt to use an sftp client (Putty/SecureFX) to do the file transfer the router/switch appears to authenticate OK but then the session is disconnected. I have logging & ssh/scp debug enabled on each cisco box and attempt to open the sftp connection. In each case the authentication (using same credentials as for SSH2 session) is successful but then the connection just closes. Can anyone help?

They don't make it real clear, but what you actually do is source from the router/switch. From the router/switch, you connect to a server that supports SCP and pull the IOS down or push the config to the server. You use the normal copy commands, but specify scp instead of tftp or ftp.
