Routine error 9006 Forcing me to Reboot to Bring iTunes7 Back Up
I routinely get error 9006 since "upgrading" to iTunes7.
Not only does this stop the downloading process, but, after getting this error I close iTunes and try to bring it back up again -- but it will not come back up without a reboot. And, when I try to shut the computer down for the reboot, there is one program that can't close itself and has to be ended manually. I don't know what this program is since it just shows what look like Chinese letters where the program name would be.
I am using dial-up and thought that was the problem but I see here it isn't limited to dial-up.
This has happened when I am only downloading one TV episode at a time and when I am letting 2 or 3 download at the same time. Since the other downloads continue, I am not losing connection -- except, when this happens once a file has reached processing stage. When it fails then, I think it may be freezing the other downloads (not sure about this).
Am I the only one that has to reboot to bring iTunes7 back up after this error? (The error doesn't shut iTunes down -- I do that manually -- but, after doing so, it won't come back up again without a reboot.)
Welcome to the Apple Forum.
Re-start the first backup again over the wired ethernet. It would be much faster and more reliable than wireless. Once the first backup is complete, you can then switch to wireless for the hourly backups.

Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I just update my iphone to IOS 7.0.4 but i facing trouble with it. During processing file, it keep pop out says my network error 9006 and whole thing just stoped. I have already tried lots of time but it could not work. i also have tried deauthorise, signing out, rebooting iphone and switching it off but all do not work. Configure your security software
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
Common errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.

TS3694 Need help for ipad 3 download error 9006
Have downloaded Itunes app and iphone5 IOS 7 successfully.
Have installed IOS7 on Iphone 5 it works great.
After Iphone successful install I moved to my Ipad 3.
I get download error 9006 when connecting Ipad 3 in middle of the download.
I have rebooted both Windows7 and Ipad3.
I have tried 3 times. I get the error.Launch iTunes on your computer and see if you have available downloads. After you open iTunes, click on the apps tab on the left side under the Library heading. You will see a window with all of the apps that you have purchased. If there is a number next to the word apps - say the number 2 - that means you have available downloads. Look in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window and there should be a message sating 2 downloads available. Click on that to get to the next window and you may be able to finish downloading the stuck apps in there.
Do this first and then worry about deleting the apps from the iPad. I want you to see if you can finish downloading them in iTunes on your computer - then sync - then delete.

I'm having an continued issue with my phone/ipad 2 and updating it.
I've tried (unsuccessfully) 7 or 8 times to update my iphone 4s with the latest update (iOS 6.1.2) but it gets 30 minutes in to the update and then an error message comes up (error 9006) and it gives me no option but to click ok and it.
I've tried using different USB cables, different ports in my laptop, even uninstalling I Tunes and reinstalling and starting again - nothing seems to work.
I've contacted my network provider who's referred me to Apple but they are closed (I'll try again during business hours).
I'm updating it on my laptop using an internet dongle (as i dont have WIFI - All updates have been done like this and i've never had a problem before) and I have windows 7 software..
Is there anyone who's encountered the same issue?

Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or photos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.

Just to be sure - I should simply change "SOURCE_PACKAGE" to "DATA_PACKAGE" in the code of the start routine? "Source_Package" is present in two places in that code:

Praveen, as to your remarks, I have the datasource 2LIS_13_VDITM (in version 7.0) active, along with the appropriate Infosource. Transformation between the DataSource and InfoSource is active, and only the transformation between the InforSource and the Cube poses problems.

ERROR 9006 can not update iPhone 4
I have a iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1 and when i try updating or even restoring to iOS 5.1.1
i get an ERROR 9006 about 40 - 60mb into the download i have tried maybe 4-6 times

After several months I found my Ipod Nano again. In the meanwhile, I switched from Android to Iphone 5s and got quite common with ITunes.
ITunes does find the Ipod, but states, that he is in "maintenance mode" and needs to be restored by ITunes - done so, updated ITunes to newest version, IPhone works well, but when downloading newest IPod Nano software, at the end of the 4-5 minutes download I receive error message "unkown error 9006".
I've presed power button together with vol - also for x-times, but unsucessful.
Is there any hint I haven't been able to find via google??

I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading a podcast, Derb Radio on TakiMag, but not other podcasts. It started occurring recently, about 3 of the last 4. This occurs on both a Windows and Apple machine. iTunes is updated. It does not occur with other podcasts. Then end result is that the podcast does not download.

I tried to update my IPhone 4 last night thru ITunes and got and error when almose done 9006. It says in the nes that you have to do it thru wifi but do not have wifi and so I synced it with my computer and said I have the new update down now and selected yes and it startedto do it then stopped 3 times with error 9006? Download error 9006, internet intermittent.
download error 9006. internet intermittent. Tthis is normal for where we live, it just drops for a second and everytime it drops you have to start over with the download, is there a way to pickup where it dropped off?
traffic shaping prioritises "core" services, so web browsing and email are not affected.
P2P traffic and video sharing/downloading are the services that are often throttled (sometimes to the point where it's not usable).
all ISPs do this (even the ones that say they don't).
Sky's broadband services all do this expect for the 16MB Max LLU package which has no throttling or download limits (the 8MB services has shaping during peak times and a 40GB a month usage limit).
apple have no control over this and will give an error message that is relevant to the problem in question (ie problem downloading the file). it has no control over what throttling an ISP is doing and is unable to tell if throttling is the issue or not. -
