Routing Activity Type BUG!

Dear All,
I've created a work center and didn't put in the Activity Types in the costing tab. Then I created a routing and used this work center in (Activity Types field was empty). Afterwards, I linked the activity types in the work centers once I had them created from the Finance and went to CR02 to update the missing activity types in the operation.
When I run costing or when I create a production order, it !!!!doesn't!!!! see the activity costs. The only way that it sees it is when I go to the routing, delete the entire line! and create it again (it will automatically read the activity type from the work center now).
How can I fix this bug? is there anything I can do about this?

You have misunderstood me. I know that the routing won't read the new Activity Type in the Work Center after I update the Work Center. This is not my problem!
My problem is that when I created the routing the Work Center had no Activity Types therefore the routing operation had no activity types, later on I've added the activity types from the routing operation details. The system doesn't feel the change I've made in the routing! UNLESS I delete the entire operation and create it again (it will read direct from the WC).
HOWEVER!!!! if I had initially created the routing operation and it reads from the WC and then I change the routing operation's Activity Type, it works and the system reads the change!
Why is it when the operation is initially created with no AT, they system will no feel any changes.
This IS a bug, I traced it inside the tables.

    In work Center of that Operation, in Costing tab og Wrk Center. Remove reference Indicators in front of activities and try.

  • MASS activity type in router

    I'm hoping someone has any ideas if CA85N can really MASS change activity types. I have been testing the transaction in our test client and have entered the material, plant, work center in the selection criteria and then in the change tab I have entered the new activity type and click the copy button.
    However, the system keeps giving me errors that there isn't an activity type for standard value for setup. But I'm not changing setup, I'm trying to change labor.
    I also get another error "consistency check is not successful when changing operation 0004. But for this one material I'm not changing operation 0004. I'm changing operation 0030.

    Hi,
    Activity Type will for a Work Center and not for the Standard Value Key. Hence when you are trying to change the activity type system will try to modify for the standard values for Setup / Operation / Labour etc. In your case I think you have not entered any activity type for the Setup, hence it is showing that error.
    I suggest you to go tcode : CR02/CR03 and check in the costing tab whether you have maintained the activity type for Setup or not.

    Thanks for your reply. In case of the formulas which we use in work centre. The values for calculating the formulas in case of Capacity and scheduling will they come from Operations assigned to the workcentre timings. In case of costing will they come from the activity type specified for them?
    Is this right?

    I having this situation, first let me tell you that we have transported the queries from dev to qa and then we had to open the qa system to modify our queries. There were a lot of modifications done to the queries in QA and so now I am trying to transport the queries back to Dev so that we can transport it again via normal route.
    When I am trying to collect the query in QA I am getting a lot of errors something like this:

        Can you please check the formula you mentioned in the Table RSZCALC Table, Provide ELTUID = "43TH...". check the Version whether it is 'A' or 'D'.
    If it is not available in 'A' Version, then check the Formula creation.

    The object was not taken into account in the next stage of processing.

    If you see so, then Goto BI Content in RSA1. Select Object Types>>> Infooject Catalog>> type ur Object name there. and transfer selections. When this object will come on ur rght panel, u can see it is in 3.5 version. Now click install now. this will get it in your rsa1 Modeling section. Then go there and say 'Migrate'.

    i was practicing the split valuation topic and for the that i was making a routing for a product so that i can have that product for inhouse production.
    while using ca01(to create routing), i am facing a problem with the activity type.
    when i am setting up the operation i am getting an error " activity type # is not set up for cost center 10004220 in year 2007"

    hi Nandha, i am sorry but i could not do it. i am new in this. let me make my problem more clear to you.
    i was creating a routing using ca01
    after puttig all the details i switched to operations tab and in operation tab i put workcenter as (1111 - lathe, may be i am wrong as i told you i am just practicing).
    i did not put anything on that screen and then when i pressed enter it took me to another screen with name Operation check.
    here is the layout of the problem on that screen
                          std val      unit     activity type     efficiency
    set up                            min        1422
    machine                         min        1421
    labor                              min        1420
    and then curser being on the std value i am getting this error "activity type 1422 is not set up for cost center 1000 4220 in the year 2007.when i am ignoring it it is switching to next std val coloumn and the same error.

    I have A REAL URGENT REQUIREMENT as far as activity type and assignment to Work Center is concerned.
    I work for a client who is a manufacturer of Paint equipment. I'm responsible for capturing the cost of an assembly activity of spray guns, which is the last step of routing.  However, there are 4 processes/steps of routing which are outsourced to the subcontracting vendors. we recieve the facbricated, anodised guns which are assembled in our factory.
    I need to get the cost of assembly, which I have created as an actvity type in KL01 and planned for the same using KP26. However the system is throwing up errors related to costing, and I'm not sure about the assignment areas in work center.
    And above all I'm not sure of various fields in KP26 like capacity field and what do we assign.
    can anybody help me with the series of steps for me to be able to pick up the cost. or if there is any sort of material in this regards, plz mail it to: __ email removed by moderator

    Hi,
    You need to do the following:
    1) Create an Activity type for the Assembly activity.
    2) Define a Work Centre in PP (T-Code CR01) which represents the location where the Assembly is carried out.
    3) Define a Cost Centre corresponding to the above Work Centre.
    4) Plan for the Activity quantity for the combination of the Cost Centre and Activity type (KP26)
    5) Plan for the Overhead Costs which are incurred on this Cost Centre which need to be included in the Standard cost of the Assembly.(KP06)
    6) Assign the Cost centre & Acivity type to the Work Centre in CR02.(This is possible only after you do 5 above)
    7) Execute the Plan price calculation (T-code KSPI)
    After you do all of the above, when you do the Costing Run, all the relevant costs will be picked.
    Ofcourse all the relevant master data for PP like BOM, Routing with the relevant assignments of materials to operations, etc should be in place.

    Where the activity type data  in process order flow from and how?

    In general activity type date will flow during plan / actual cost calculation. The order  / confimed qty will be taken and the the required hrs for that quantity will be calculated from the routing data. Then finally total hrs required will be calculated by the system. After calculating the total hrs. The amount spent for Hrs will be considered from the  Activity type . Finally total cost will be calcuated for that total activity
    The activity data will flow at that point only.

    Check out this,
    1.Create a Cost center using T code - KS01.
    2.Create an activity type using T code - KL01.
    3.Assign the Rates for an activity type & cost center combination using T code KP26.
    4.In the input screen of T code KP26 ,enter version as 0, from period 1 and to period as 12 and the Fiscal
    Year as 2008,enter the cost center, activity type click on overview screen (F5)---> enter the per hour Rate
    under Fixed price and set value as 2 for distribution key and plan price indicator as 3.
    5.After performing this ,while creating the work center ,this combination of activity type & cost center
    should be assigned.Then while creating routing/task list this work center can assigned for performing
    operations.
    Check with this & revert back if you need any further help.

    I have a query in BI which shows the following error after dropping the same in Transport Connection bar in R.H.S panel.

    But after collecting the query and query elements, I can see the afore mentioned 4 query elements are not getting collected under the transport req but the Req itself shows the status GREEN (after collection).
    After releasing the req when I am trying to move it to PRD, the system is throwing error. I am unable to import the query in PRD.
    Now can any one suggest me for the next step.
    Also I want to know how and where I can search for those elements in BI system?

    I will answer your questions one by one.
    During the initial transport, system was showing that: there are few elements which has been locked by other TR Request. I unlocked the task and the request using SE03 and then again tried to collect the query and query elements in a new TR Request. I have checked option Only Necessary Objects in Grouping, Collection mode: collect automatically, Display: Hierarchy
    But I cannot find those 4 query elements under query elements list. System is unable to collect those 4 query elements under the TR Request. These 4 elements are of type ROUTINE and not in Active version, as you can see from the message itself.
    Rest query elements are getting collected under the TR Request. Only those 4 query elements are missing. Now pls suggest me how to proceed. How and where can I find those query elements (Routines)? Coz the tech name for those query elements are specific to query itself. I have no idea where to search for those 4 elements.

  • Field Activity Type and Service Point Type from CC&B

    Our customer is migrating their CIS to CC&B. It is my understanding that the CC&B Field Activity Type is similar to CIS Service Order without the Service Point Type. (Service Point Type is Water or Electricity)
    The two valuescome from CC&B in their own fields.
    QUESTION: Does MWM 1.5.0.8.1 and ORS need these fields to be concatenated from CC&B or are these fields automatically concatenated via the router before the field order is created in MWM and then sent to ORS?

    Almost forgot - by default, it's one-to-one....but you can change this behavior.
    In the direct integration from CCB to MWM, the MWM Field Order Type is actually CCB's "JOB_CD" (which is a characteristic on the Field Activity Type). You could set the same value for "JOB_CD" for numerous Field Activity Types in CCB.

  • Activity Types for a Work Center

    Dear Experts,
    I have done KL01 and KP26 transactions. That is I ahve defined the activity and assignes a cost conter to it.
    Still, when I am trying to enter the activity type in costing tab while creating the work center, the system throws an error as "No activity types are assigned to the cost center XXXXX, controlling area XXXXX....."
    The Msg No. is CR 091.
    Please guide me to find out where I am missing something?

    Activity type are mentioned in WC costing view.
    The data for activity type is stored in KP26 for a particular financial year.
    This data is passed on to costing. The hourly rate is stored in this . As per the WC formula and the timing data  from routing. The hours required are calculated then this is multiplied with the data available in Activity type.

    1. I have assigned the secondary cost element in (Assignment Cost component - cost element with category 43, the same being assigned in Activity type also)
    2. My scenario is Repetitive manufacturing so i have assigned in Qty structure control - routing selection 02 (rate routing).
