Row highlighting - variable substitution?

Hi
Report templates are great except that the Row Highlighting options take literal values.
Is there (at 3.0.1) any way to vary the background color for current row dependent on a CSS style or other variable?
Is there (please...) any intention to support CSS styles or a substitution variable (or application item reference) in these settings in a future release?
Thanks
John

Bump again. Variable ROW-level formatting would be REALLY nice. And not just the {span] tag, but include row-level changes for both cell- and text-based attributes such as cell borders, cell background colors, font size, font weight, font color, etc. Would be best if one could create a pseudocolumn in the SQL and have the row use the specified CSS value, ie
This SQL query
  select CASE(dept_id)
        when 1 then 'mktg'
        when 2 then 'sales'
        when 3 then 'admin'
    END CASE as CSS,
   emp_id, emp_nm, dept_id
    from EMP;This could be paired with a stylesheet in the page header that looked something like:
<style type="text/css">
tr.sales {text-align: center, font-weight: bold; color: #FF0000; border: 1px solid black;}
tr.mktg {text-align: right, font-weight: bold; color: #32CD32}
tr.admin {text-align: right, font-weight: bold; color: #00FF00; border:1px solid green;}
</style>Then when rendering the page, it would apply the row-level css to the {tr} tag when building the table.
What say you?

  • Variable substitution not working for dynamic file name in Receiver File CC

    Hi Experts,
    I am doing the scenario of Proxy sender to File receiver and my purpose is to Create the text file
    as per the filename available in Source Message payload.
    I am using the Variable Substitution method for this as shown below.
    Source Message Structure:-
         <Row>            -
    having Cocurence 1.1
             <Filename>     -
    having Cocurence 1.1
             <Item>            -
    having Cocurence 1.Unbounded
              <Field1>
              <field2>
             <Item>
             <Item>
              <Field1>
              <field2>
                <Item>
         <Row>
    Target structure is same as the source structure and i have mapped the Filename field of the Source
    with the Target structure Filename.
    In ID the following is the File receiver CC Configuration.
    File Name Scheme:- %Dyn_filename%
    In Advance tab, I have selected the Enable option and added one row as Variable name %Dyn_filename%
    and Reference as payload:Row,1,Filename,1
    In testing I am getting the Error as 'variable Dyn_filename is not found in Message payload'.
    Please suggest me.

    Hi Pooja,
    Hi Pooja,
    Thanks for your valuable reply..
    I  tried with the same. but still Filename is appearing in Output file.Giving you some details regarding my Receiver File Configuration settings.
    Target Message Type:-

  • Variable substitution for Dynamic filename

    Hi All,
    my Scenario is Proxy to file. and the receiver file should be a zip file of extension .dat.gz.
    In mapping I tried as below. In signature I used one sender and two receiver messages.
    SENDER:                         RECEIVER:(2messages)
    MT_Product                       MT_Product
    -----Row                              ---------Row
    ---------field1                         -----------field1
    ---------field2                         -----------field2
    ---------field3                         -----------field3
                                             MT_Poduct_1
                                               --------field5
    for field5 I mapped current date and I am trying to use it in Reciver file communication channel. will that be correct to use?
    In receiver communication channel the file name is Product_%field5%.zip I used
    and I used Module Configuration for content conversion and Zipping the file.
    In variable substitution I used field5 for dynamic date.
    field5-----------
    payload:Messages,1,Message2,1,MT_Product_1,1,field5,1
    Module Confuguration:
    Guys! am on right path????? will this be possible????

    Hello,
    Why you are using multimapping? Just for defining target file name using var substitution - BTW, that too is incorrect. You cannot use Messages/Message 1 nodes in variable substitution.
    Secondly, if I am not wrong the approach of defining dynamic zip file name using variable substitution won’t work because variable substitution will be executed once all the modules before standard call sap adapter gets executed. So during runtime, at var substitution step, ur file will actually be a text file instead of XML as a result u will get an exception.
    So, if there is no specific objective of using multimapping then simply use DC.
    Thanks

  • Variable substitution error while using Seeburger module parameter

    Hi Freinds,
    I would like to use the variable substitution in a receiver file adapter to add the invoice no.
    (which is contained in the XML file) to the target filename.
    In addition I have to convert the XML file to an X12 EDI format using the seeburger module "localejbs/CallBicXIRaBean".
    As soon as this entry is made in the modules the following error message occurs:
    "com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException:
    Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException:
    Caught SAXException while parsing XML payload: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException:
    XMLParser: No data allowed here: (hex) 53, 4f, 48(:main:, row:1, col:3)"
    My problem is that the conversion from XML to X12 EDI is done before the variable substitution is started.
    That`s why the reference for the variable is no longer valid as the file is already converted to a X12 EDI (=flatfile) format.
    If I disable one of the two steps (either 1:1-mapping or variable substitution) the other step runs properly.
    Has anybody an idea how to solve this topic?
    Is it possible to specify the variable substitution as module?
    If this is possible I could solve it by just reordering the two steps in the module chain.
    Regards
    Venkatesh

    Use Dynamic Configuration Bean to set this value. You have to use this well before "localejbs/CallBicXIRaBean".
    Check SAP note : 974481 for more information.

    Second Approach if the above approach doesnt work.
    Use Dynamic Configuration concept in UDF to set the filename under message Mapping.

  • Variable substitution in Unit Testing validation - Date format?

    Using SQL Developer unit testing, I am having difficulty comparing Date datatype in a validation.
    I use a Dynamic Value Query to set the parameters of an insertion procedure under test.
    select * from (select doc_nbr as p_mstr_doc_nbr, doc_nbr as p_assoc_doc_nbr, sysdate as p_date_added from documents sample(0.01) order by dbms_random.random)  where rownum <= 1;So P_DATE_ADDED is a DATE datatype.
    I wish to validate that the insertion was correct. So I run a Process Validation returning one or more rows.
    SELECT * FROM X100_ASSOC
      WHERE MSTR_DOC_NBR = '{P_MSTR_DOC_NBR}'
        AND ASSOC_DOC_NBR = '{P_ASSOC_DOC_NBR}'
        AND to_char(DATE_ADDED,'dd-MON-yy HH24:MI:SS')  = {P_DATE_ADDED};I understand that the {P_DATE_ADDED} is substituting in a string. From Help page :
    "What is actually substituted is the string representation of the parameter value. For example:
    If P1 is a parameter of type NUMBER and has the value 2.1, the string {P1} will be replaced by the string 2.1.
    If P1 is a parameter of type VARCHAR2 and has the value ABC, the string '{P1}' will be replaced by the string 'ABC'. (Note the single-quotation marks around {P1} in this example.)"
    I need to know the format that the date is cast into as a string. Then I can do the comparision on the where clause.
    Any answers? or details of where is more in depth documentation?
    Thank you,
    Bill

    I agree as a general rule. However in this case, it appears that the variable substitution routine is returning the default format. So to compare my expected data to the returned data I choose to use the default format. If the variable substitution routine specified an explicit format, I would use that. In my original question, I asked if anyone knew the format.

  • SQL Injection and variable substitutions

    Hello helpful forum, I'm trying to understand what really goes on "behind" the scenes
    with the variable substitutions in order to protect from sql injections.
    I'm using apex 3.0.0.00.20
    The trickiest component seems to be a Report of type "pl/sql returning sql", since
    multiple dynamic sql interpretations are done there.
    consider the following innocent looking disaster:
    DECLARE
    l_out VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    l_out := 'select * from test_injection t where t.name like ''%' || :NAME || '%''';
    RETURN l_out;
    END;
    if NAME is a single quote the report will return:
    failed to parse SQL query: ORA-00911: invalid character
    which hints to the fact that NAME is not escaped, and you are in fact able to access db functions
    as in: '||lower('S')||'
    I also tried to put there a function that runs in a autonomous transaction to log its calls, and
    I see that it's called five times for each request.
    consider now the similar solution (notice the two single quotes):
    DECLARE
    l_out VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    l_out := 'select * from test_injection t where t.name like ''%'' || :NAME || ''%''';
    RETURN l_out;
    END;
    with this second example nothing of the above is possible.
    So my theory (please confirm it or refute it) is that there is a first variable substitution done
    at the pl/sql level (and in the second case :NAME is just a string so nothing is substituted).
    Then the dynamic sql is executed and it returns the following string:
    select * from test_injection t where t.name like '%' || :NAME || '%'
    now another substitution is done (at an "APEX" level) and then query is finally executed to return
    the rows to the report.
    The tricky point seems to be that the first substitution doesn't escape the variable (hence the error
    with the single quote), while the second substitution does.
    Please let me know if this makes sense and what are the proper guidelines to avoid sql injection with
    the different kinds of reports and components (SQL, pl/sql returning sql, processes, ...)
    Thanks

    Giovanni,
    You should build report regions like this using the second method so that all bind variables (colon followed by name) appear in the resultant varchar2 variable, l_out in your example, which will then be parsed as the report query. This addresses not only the SQL injection problem but the shared-pool friendliness problem.

  • File Reciver adapter - Variable Substitution

    Hi all,
    i am creating a file with dynamic file name.
    My structure looks like this:
    Row - 0-unbound (all the data)
    FileName - 1
    I don't want the file name to appear in the file I just want it for the Variable Substitution.
    so in the content conversion i use only the row.fieldFixedLengths
    but in the file i get an extra empty line because of the file name.
    Thanks,
    Naama.

    Hi,
    Its better to go for Adapter specific attributes with dynamic configuration. That will avoid you from usage of Filename field in target structure.
    Refer - Dynamic Configuration for file name

  • Keep row highlighted using jQuery

    Hello!
    I'm using the following code to highlight a row in my report, calling it via an onclick event -
    function highLight( pThis ){
     $('td').removeClass('current');
     $(pThis).parent().parent().children().addClass('current') ;
    I have an icon in the same row that opens a popup page where a user can edit that particular record. Once the changes have been made and the 'Apply changes' button is clicked, the popup window closes and the page is refreshed to show the changes, but my row highlight disappears. How can I go about keeping that row highlighted after the page has reloaded?
    Thank you!
    Tammy

    I give...I've spent the past few days trying to figure out how the value in my hidden variable will help identify the row that I need to highlight. I have 2 buttons in each row...one button, when clicked, calls the highLight function and the row is highlighted and the pThis value returns "http://.....f?p=111:34:123456789012232::::P34_TEST:1". The other button opens the popup...I make my changes, click Apply Changes to submit and close the popup, I set my P34_TEST hidden value to the ID, which equals 1, but how am I supposed to modify the highLight function and call the function and use the ID value to find the row I want to highlight? I added a class to the column like you recommended, but when I click the first button to highlight the row, it highlights all of the columns in the table, which I understand why it does that, I just don't know how to identify the class with the ID. I know that probably doesn't make much sense to you, but I don't know enough about jQuery to put all the pieces together. I'm not looking for someone to hand me the answer, I just don't understand how it's supposed to work. Can you give me a little more detailed information on how to go about doing this?
    Thank you,

  • Filename in J2SE Adapter with Variable Substitution

    Hello,
    Within the J2EE receiver fileadapter (and ftp) from SP13 it is possible to compose the target filename and directory based on the payload of a message using variable substitution.
    I wonder if it is also possible to use variable substitution with the J2SE fileadapter. For this it is not documented but i thougth that the same java libraries are used for the J2EE an J2SE file-adapters.

    Hello,
    the J2SE Adapter does not support variable subsition. Therefore we created our own class which gets called from the main SAP XI class "XMB2FileProcessor.class" wich is in the jar "aii_msg_adapter.jar". In your own class you can do what ever you need to chane the file name. In the configuration you can set your own parameter to search the payload for a string you want to replace. We also had to come up with our own timestamp, e.g. file2005-11-10 which SAP does not let you do, only the full timestamp is possible.
    One other nice thing is that you can develop our JAVA class local and test it with your local J2SE Adapter Engine on you PC before you deploy it.
    Steps to do:
    1. JAD the SAP class
    2. Put a call in the SAP class
    3. Compile the class
    4. Put the class back in the archive
    5. Create your own class
    6. Create a jar file for it
    7. Put the jar file in the tech_adapter directory
    8. Change the run_adapter start cmd to include your jar file
    It works great, the only issue is if you patch the J2SE engine you have to do step 1 to 4 again but that should it very easy to do.
    Cheers
    Stefan

  • Problem with variable substitution.

    Hello,
    I asked this before but now I want to change the question focus.
    I have scenario from IDOC to XML file.
    The scenario is digital invoice for our company in Mexico and I end this scenario with java mapping that I import from SAP marketplace.
    Now I have request to add to the XML file name the content of the field "<ODN_NUMBER>" from the XML data.
    I try to use with variables substitution.
    My payload is:

  • Error in Variable Substitution

    Dear All,
    Result Payload:
    <ns1:MT_Level1 xmlns:ns1="http://test.com">

      </Detail>
      <FileNode>
      <FileName>test.txt</FileName>
      </FileNode>
      </ns1:MT_Level1>
    I want to use "File Name" in the "File Node" node for my variable substitution.
    In the configuration:
    File Name Scheme = %filename%
    Variable = filename
    reference = payload: Messages, 1, Message, 1, MT_Level1, 1, FileNode, 1, FileName, 1
    Note: I'm using multimapping (1 to N).
    File Name path is /ns0:Messages/ns0:Message2/ns1:MT_Level1/FileNode/FileName ( from right click in the file name --> copy path).
    I got following error:
    "Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException: Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: The following variable was not found in the message payload: filename"
    Please advise!
    Best Regards,
    Victor.

    Dear All,
    My problem is solved!
    The issue is because I don't put the interface mappings sequence as the same sequence as the message mappings sequence. Hence the structure name that i put in the variable substitution all are not match with the structure name in the payload even though all have the file name element.
    So what i did is i have to reorder the sequence of my message mappings to be the same sequence as the interface mappings sequence.
    Thanks for all that trying to help!
    Appreciated it guys.
    BTW, for the variable reference it's correct that i no need to put message and message2 as the reference.
    payload:MT_Level1,1,FileNode,1,FileName,1 will do.
    Best Regards,
    Victor.
