Hi, ive had my blackberry since earlier this year. I am now getting an error message when i try to open up media manager. I am getting an error which states: "the certificate file is missing or has been corrupted." can someone help me figure this one out???? Thanks

Having purchased a new Curve 8320 I installed the Desktop Software. Everything OK until I tried to open the media file application. Received message - Roxio Easy Media Centre "the certificate file is missing or has been corrupted please reinstall it". I have been on line and remooved the program as directed. I have done the HotKey "shuffle!" I have disabled my Trend security and reinstalled. Still not worked. I have downloaded another program and repeated the above. Still not worked!! CS6 Photoshop reads this when attempting to "Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted). HELP!

Finally got a call this morning from an Adobe Rep and he explained to me the issue. He explained that I needed to uninstall the adobe product, in this case Photoshop CS6 and download it again and reinstall it! So, I did that and get the same message when attempting to open the newly downloaded software: "Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted). Please, if someone could help me as soon as possible! I am very anxious to remedy this situation. Thank you!

This seems to have cropped up a lot recently. What has seemed to work so far is intentionally resetting your preferences:
Reset Preferences
1) Close the program and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Win)/Cmd+Option+Shift (Mac) during startup (not reversible)
or
2) Move the Folder. See:

One idea is to hold down the cmd-opt-shift keys and start Photoshop. It will ask you if you want to delete the settings file. Answer "Yes" and it will create a new Preferences files. Photoshop should continue to load.

Hi, ive recently just built a brand new computer and purchased windows 7 64 bit. the system runs fine except for the fact that i cannot install any games (these include command and conquer 4, red alert 3 and sims 3. i go to install and partway through it stops with a message saying:
"the cabinet file 'name.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. this could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD ROM, or a problem with this package."
At first i suspectd a faulty cd rom drive, but the same thing happend wen i tried it with another drive. i know the disks are fine because theyr new. iv searced online and tried things such as disabling the antivirus, going into command prompt and deleting the .....\SQMClient\DisabledSessions as administrator and anything else that was recommended, but it still cant seem to like cabinet files (btw when the installation stops it doesnt always stop on the same .cab as a previous attempt, sometimes it gets further through the installation than others). they install fine on other computes with windows 7 64bit.

pdf should be able to be read from the build in preview application
and if one is so included and somewhat crazy the acrobat reader app
if both or any of those applications fail to be able to read your file then I would
try it in another device/computer
because if the file is damaged or corrupt then there really is nothing one can do apart from re copy it from the org source where it is not damaged or corrupt

Yesterday it was working fine, this morning I tried to open cs6 and I get the message above. Tried to put the file back in from my laptop ( copied on a thumb drive ) and when I close all the windows the files does not show up again, and ps6 shows me that same message above. I use an iMac 27" computer. I installed a plugin ( WhiteWindowworkaround.plugin1_0_6.zip ) for correcting my cursor problem. PLEASE HELP ME.......

The first thing I would try would be to manually reset the preferences. If that fails, try uninstalling the plugin and see if the problem goes away.
In case you don't know how to reset:
Reset Preferences

CS5 - Photoshop won't start: preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)

Environment:
Win7 Ultimate - 4 gig ram - CS5 Design Premium
Seemingly out of the blue - Photoshop stopped loading and I'm getting two error messages :
first: ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 Extended: "Could not load actions because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered
second: ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 Extended: "could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted).
I've deleted the two Preferences Files - but they don't seem to repopulate on startup - (or if they do they are deleted per the error message)
I tried copying a Preferences file from another working machine but that failed as well.
In addition: Dreamweaver is kicking out the following error messages - but opens and seems to work normally.

Run photoshop as administrator holding Ctrl + Alt + Shift, that should trigger a preferences reset prompt.
If that won't work I would do a backup and delete the entire Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings folder, not just the two files you mentioned.
As for your Dreamweaver issue, try deleting WinFileCache-********.dat (or FileCache.dat) from your Dreamweaver Config folder.
Otherwise try deleting your preferences
Exit Dreamweaver.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe.
Rename the Dreamweaver preferences folder:
Dreamweaver CS5: Rename the Dreamweaver CS5 folder to, for example, Old Dreamweaver CS5.
Choose Start, type regedit in the Start Search, and then press Enter.
In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe
Remove the Dreamweaver preferences registry entries.

It is working fine in 2010 Farm. I have gone thorugh all the settings in BDC model and every thing looks fine. All users has atleast execution rights on BDC model, BDC service is running and Site collection admin and Farm admin has rights onexternal
DB.
Any one has any clue to this error?

So I sort it by myself. One thing to consider seriously in this error is to look in to the Inner Exception rather than just looking on the main exception detail.
In my case it was UserProfile was not running and when I started the UserProfile service the error vanished.
There was no problem with the BDC or Webpart.
