Roxio Toast 10 with Tivo for iPhone 3.0

I am using Roxio Toast 10 to transfer TV shows from my TIVO to my macbook pro which then converts to .m4v files to sync with iphone. The first few shows transfered/converted and synced up to iphone perfect with itunes. The past few days I have tried again and get an error message saying "the files did not sync because they can't be played on the iphone". I am beyond frustrated as they should be able to be played and I am getting this error. Any suggestions? Can this be a 3.0 glitch?

Double check the post-processing size to make sure they fit the video requirements and they're not too large and in the correct picture format.
Just a guess...but will the converted files play on any other Apple devices like a Video IPod or Apple TV?

Cannot Import Video made with iMovie for iPhone/iPod Touch

I edited a video on my iPod touch using Apple's iMovie. The resulting .MOV file that iMovie creates will not import into iPhoto '11. While iMovie recognises the file just fine, iPhoto believes it is an unsupported file type. It's a .MOV for goodness sakes created with Apple's own hardware and program! Very strange. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Hey there. In answer to your question, all other clips that appear in my camera roll are easily seen by iPhoto. It is only those movies that I have created with iMovie for iPhone that iPhoto does not recognize. It's really strange, considering the fact that it's just a .MOV file. As a result, I've had to download a program called 'DiskAid' that allows me to transfer the .MOV file directly to my computer from the iPod Touch.
In answer to your question regarding whether or not iMovie for iPhone was worth downloading, I would have to say yes (assuming of course the import-to-iPhoto problem gets fixed). It's not a perfect program. My biggest complaint is that you have to import clips ONE at a time. There's no 'import all' option. This is really time consuming as you have to cycle through all the videos on your iPod or iPhone and manually tap each one and repeat. My dad likes to take a lot of 1-minute videos that then have to get spliced together and that can be really tedious with how this iMovie is currently set up. However, if you regularly think to add your clips to an existing project as you go along, things should be fine. It could do with a few more features and faster rendering times, but on the whole, it's a decent program. I have a feeling, though, that it was designed more for the YouTube generation who want to upload a five-minute video instead of people like my father and I who like to edit an hour or so and then eventually burn to a DVD. iMovie for the Mac still CERTAINLY has it's place.

Hyperlinks with Keynote for iPhone/iPod Touch

Hello, everyone. I bought Keynote hoping to use it to make classroom presentations with my iPod Touch, Apple's VGA adapter cord, and a projector. Although Keynote presentations show up through the projector through the VGA cord, it is not possible in Keynote's full-screen mode to activate any of the presentation's hyperlinks. On the iPod Touch alone (w/o VGA cord), a double-tap on a hyperlink opens it up in Safari. But this is of little use because A) without VGA adapter, no public presentation at all, and B) Safari on iOS is not (yet) compatible with the VGA adapter anyway.
Does anyone know of a way around this problem? Or how to lobby Apple to modify Keynote to allow for easy hyperlink triggers within a presentation, and to modify Safari to be compatible with the VGA adapter (or allowing the user to set an adapter-friendly browser as the default one for hyperlinks in Keynote)?

There are document which have not been adapted for mobile devices. In that case, use Adobe Acrobat or Reader on a Mac or Windows computer. Note: Reader 2 was released in the 1990s so this form may be a very old one.

Problems with GB for iPhone?

Hello. I purchased GB for iPhone and despite the Appple spin telling me how great it was, I cannot see anywheer on the very small interface that allows me to hear my guitar plugged into the iPhone in GB. I have been playing GB on my iMac for the past 6 months without problems and was very keen to have a mobile app to take away on holidays but so far this seems useless. I cannot even find what the Help page is referring ot on the main screen.

I have just bought a 1st gen iPhone and had real real real trouble setting it up to pick up my BT mail. I copied all the details straight off of my Mac Pro Mail account and all i got was the spinning wheel telling me it was connecting. However i went through the settings enabled Push, and set it to 15 miinute intervals then opened up mail and just left it alone. If that does not always work i turn the phone off and back on again and hey presto. The only other thing i am finding is that with Wi-Fi on when at home the settings seem to get confused and my Mac Pro mail app gives me a "no connection" alert, but that might be to a sync problem. I am sure i will work it all out eventually

Problems With FaceBook For IPhone App

am having problems with the FaceBook for IPhone app. I can only comment in the notifications or newsfeed tabs, and the comment buttons don't work when I attempt to comment directly on a friend's status. The app also has repeatedly crashed. The latest mess is that I'm not even able to view my profile, messages, etc. Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to be only a temporary fix. I have complained to the developers to no avail with each update. I'm running IOS 4.3.3 and My IPhone model is AT&T service 32GB black. I'm using Voice Over.

Have you tried deleting and re-installing the app?

Please Help?! Problems with Viber for iPhone 4s

Please help!
I have had problems with Viber for a while now and had given up! But now a few contacts only have viber and not other free messaging apps so I’m trying to use it again but still having problems.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times and still have not received an access code. My main problem though is the messaging it would work fine and then I wouldn’t be able to send any messages and I would receive a message go into the app and the message would not appear.
The other day I reinstalled it whilst at work and worked perfectly could send and receive messages easily. Then when I went home the problem stated again. I then uninstalled and reinstalled again and it worked perfectly, but now back at work I’m having the issues again! I can’t keep uninstalling and reinstalling is there a way this can be fixed?!

You activated "Find My Mac," which disables the built-in Guest account and adds a Safari-only "Guest User" pseudo-account. To get the Guest account back, you would have to disable FMM.

Need help with backup for iphone 4

hey all,
i just upgraded to IOS 5.1.1, and i was pretty mad to find out all my contacts were wiped out after i did this. so i plugged it in my computer, went into iTunes, and tried to restore from backup...well, that would have worked out fine, except it keeps restoring to an old back up from April 17...no matter what i do! i'm trying to use a backup from May 20.
So here's what i'm doing, if anyone can give me insight, by all means!
Restore from backup > iphone name: (here on the drop down list, i see my phone name and various dates including april 17, 2012, and may 20, 2012, which is the date of back up i am trying to use. below the drop down menu, it reads "Last Backed Up: 4/17/2012". but if there are more recent dates listed in the dropdown, doesn't it mean the last back up was whatever date listed in the dropdown??
at any rate, i choose the may 20 back up, and i get a pop up window that says "A more recent backup from 4/17/12 is available for the iphone..." and gives me the option of "use newer backup" or "use older backup". well even if i click the newer backup, it only uses the 4/17/12 backup, not may 20 one. if i click older backup, it gives me a backup from a LONG time ago.
so does this mean i don't actually have a backup from may 20?? i see that the file from 5/20/12 is there when i go to my mobilesync > backup folder on my computer...so i dont get what the problem is. i even tried deleting the 4/17/12 folder from there, and went back into itunes...no luck.
i dont think the upgrade in IOS shoudl be affecting this? afterall both of the backups i listed were both of the old IOS...

You do know that contacts are NOT part of the iTunes backup, right? The only part of contacts that get backed up is the information needed to maintain your favorites and recent call log.
Contacts are meant to live permanently on your computer (Outlook, Address Book) or a cloud-service (Google, iCloud) for safekeeping and archival.
Sounds like you might not have been using your phone as recommended and that your contacts are gone. That's unfortunate. Now might be a good time to review the User Guide to refamiliarize yourself with the way you should be using your phone to minimize data loss in the future.

I am going to pre-order the iPhone 4 online on the 15th and choose to pick it up in the store. But I'm confused about what it means to pre-order.
Are you actually making a purchase? or just reserving an iPhone to purchase in the store?
If you have to buy on-line when you pre-order, can you use 2 or 3 apple gift cards for the purchase? or do you have to use a credit card?

IWeb with QuickTime for iPhone

Can someone give me a simple recipe for embedding a QuickTime movie in an iWeb page so that it plays on the iPhone 3G? Has anyone done this successfully? I'm generally pretty savvy with QuickTime, but this has me currently stumped.

If you subscribe to MobileMe, you could publish your QT movie from iMovie '08 to a _MobileMe Web Gallery_. Select the tiny and mobile sizes to publish. Your iPhone or iPod touch uses either of these sizes, depending on how it’s connected to the Internet.
Then in iWeb, you can view a list of all the albums and movies in your MobileMe Gallery, and incorporate any of them in an iWeb page. Visitors can click to go directly to your MobileMe Gallery:

Has Apple come out with patch for iPhone-Bluetooth connection problem?

I have a Mini Cooper with Bluetooth compatibility and it was compatible with my iPhone for a couple of months, but I have found out that it only syncs up with iPhone software versions of 2.0 or 2.0.1. It seems that when I downloaded tunes on my iPhone from iTunes, it automatically "upgraded" my software on my iPhone to 2.0.2, which now makes it imcompatible with my Mini's bluetooth. Has Apple come out with the patch for this problem yet? I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem. If Apple doesn't advertise the patch for this pretty soon, I'll be blogging for help on this throughout the Internet. I have called Apple....they have put me on eternal hold and still have not given me a positive answer on this dilemma. Apparently the "senior" software guys haven't gotten the word on this coming problem for them. Needless to say my frustration is to the point of chucking this attractive nuisance into the river and going back to a less sophisticated form of communication. Anyone have any information on this? You can send feedback to Apple regarding your issue with the Mini - http://apple.com/feedback . You could also contact Mini and see if they are working on a patch for their bluetooth.
I haven't had the fuzzy picture issue except when my hand shakes while taking a picture. There will never be a perfect update where no one has a problem. If you wait for the perfect update, you'll never update any electronic device.

Pouch with clip for Iphone with Agent 18 Case

I have tried many cases and found that I like the Agent 18 Clear case the best because it does not add bulk to the phone and still shows the great design of the phone. However, I was wondering if anyone knows of any pouch with a clip that the Agent 18 would fit into. I tried the Sena case and it was way too tight. Thanks.

I have the Agent 18 in black and love it. I bought a little ipod "pouch" made by Case Logic ---it fits perfect and it's very cushioned in case of a drop. They come in several colors for about 8 bucks. The only thing is it has a caribiner type clip as opposed to a belt clip. I just hook it on a belt loop or whatever works.
