Rpc server unavailable message during installation

I ordered a new cd from hp for my c3180 series all in one printer and during install it gives me a mesage that the RPC server is unavailable.How do I fix this? Now also my other little printer is not recognized as well...

I'm trying to install BPC 7 sp5 in a two server environment, but the installation stops with the error message "Cannot connect to . Please check report server name".
Environment:
Appserver: Win2003 R2 32 bit.
Sql server: Win2008 64 bit, Sql 2008 Server 64 bit.
Default installation of Report Server was used. So virtual directory is ReportServer. I can successfully connect to Report server from IE (http://ReportServerName/ReportServer). The installation user is a domain user and is member of the Administrators group on both servers. Ports 1433, 2383 and 80 are open.
So then I wonder if the error comes from the fact that we're using Windows 2008 as OS on sql server. Is it possible to use Win2008 on sql server?

    There wasn't any configuration information, ipconfig /all, network setup, etc. So it's difficult to tell.
    More importantly, are you trying to promote the host server? If yes, that is not advised, for one, because it's a Hyper-V server, (not suggested at all), and two, RRAS is installed. RRAS is problematic with any domain controller because it turns it into
    a multihomed domain controller.

    I don't know how your networking is setup, whether there are multiple NICs on the host server, if they are teamed, if you have the host interface set to allow the operating system to share administration, or if there are separate interfaces for each. Can
    the host OS ping/communicate with the DC virtual machine?
    If there are more than one NIC, you have the choice to team the NICs and share the Teamed NICs for the Hyper-V OS and the VMs, or keep them separate where one is devoted for the Hyper-V OS, and one for the VMs.

    Hello All:
        I know there are several post out there for this problem and I know there are fixes out there. But out situation is a little different I suppose. And we already tried the solution posted on note 833798, 824976 and several post previously and still unable to resolve this..
        There are two building in the company that needs access SBO. And this problem only happens in 1 build which server does not reside.
        SBO start just fine, it runs and everything looks ok. A add-on that use single sign on with getcompany() call starts and system crash. Not responding. When you force the application to close. A error message pop up saying RPC server unavailable.
        This same thing happens when we trying to run any DI-API add-on such as DTW...
        And everyhting works just fine on the other building. There is no fire wall between. There is a T1 line between the two building. From the network capture there is some kind of RDS package wrong format error messsage that coming back and forth.
        If anyone have see something similar, I really appreciate any suggestion at this point!!

    They are all in 1 domain. Furthermore we used Domain Admin which has full rights for all system under domain. So it shouldn't be a user problem.
    There is a bridging system in between the T1. But if we run the VPN then it should by pass the bridging system and directly access server.
    SBO server /SQL DB / licenser server are all in 1 box which is a WS2003 SP1 64bits... I don't know if that information helps any!!
    Again the people in the first building doesn't seem to have this problem at all.

  • 800706BA RPC server unavailable in Report Generation toolkit

    Hi all,
    I've got a problem with LabVIEW 7.1.1 and Report Generation Toolkit (RGTK).RGTK is used to connect to MS-Word, create a new document from template and report test results. Works like a charme when stying local on the respective test machine.
    LabVIEWs 'Automation Open' node as wella as other parts of the RGTK have an control 'machine name' so I suspected I could bring a report server into game. Tried it and get an error "0x800706BA - The RPC server is unavailable in myTestVI" (translated from German Windows error).
    All the required subVIs to create a document have been put into a small test app. This one runs fine when running on the desired report server, but fail when opened and run on the devellopment machine.
    I have searched extensively for that error code and have changed some port settings in the firewalls and some services settings with no success. Can anyone help me out?
    BTW, on the remote machine a new process named WINWORD is started, but nothing more.

  • Hyper-v manager in windows 8.1 cannot connect to hyper-v server. RPC server unavailable

    I am setting up a new server. I installed Hyper-V 2012 R2 on it and want to manage it remotely with Hyper-V manager from a Windows 8.1 computer. I am unable to communicate with the computer with the server. Hyper-V manager gives me the following error: RPC
    Server Unavailable. Unable to establish communication between "the hypervserver" and "the W8.1station". Both computer are located in the same subnet and both are on the same domain.
    I configured the server with a fixed IP, DNS, to accept pings, connected it to the domain and set it up to allow remote access and management. Although I do not think it is necessary, I added my domain account to the administrators group in the hyper-V server.
    I can perfectly ping the server and remote into the server from the W8.1 station. From he server I can also ping the W8.1 station as well as exterior websites (DNS functionality is ok).
    I have play with the firewall in both, the Hyper-V server and the management station and have not being able to get them to communicate. Blaming the Hyper-V server for all this and the great time that I have already spent on this problem, I borrowed a Windos
    7 Pro computer, installed RSAT and enabled the Hyper-V manager in that computer. Launched the manager AND CONNECTED TO THE HYPER-V SERVER WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL !!!!!!!
    I have read a lot already about this but most people having this issue are setting up servers in a workgroup environment, and almost nobody is using Windows 8.1 as the management station. Can someone PLEASE give me a hand with this problem??

    Good Afternoon,
    I am trying to control a Siqura IP Camera trough an ActiveX Control dll, when I Run the VI I get the following error on the call of the Second Automation Open.VI: RPC Server unavailable -2147023174.
    I have tried to investigate why should I receive this error but for now have no clue.
    Could anyone  tell me why it is showing this error, you'll find enclosed a pic of my VI and a copy of the ActiveX dll I use (renamed txt because Ni would not allow posting .dll files.

     The file I use is attached, however I believe I have determined one small issue. If I compile the attached vi. and move it to the server it will call the application locally. In other words, the app will be called on the local server when the code attached is compiled. I have configured the default security per a couple of posts on this topic, and have modified the DCOM settings for the interactive user. The same code attached does work for another server on the same network that runs Windows NT 4.0. The other machine ( the one I cannot call Name.exe from remotely) has windows server 2003 enterprise edition. I believe the code is simple and pretty much correct, however I seem to be having some problems with the Win server 2003 enterprise security. Please evrify that this code should work (open an exe called Name.exe, and return the value of a control "IP Dot". Have you seen any issues with Windows XP or Server 2003 Enterprise, that may cause DCOM communication issues with the sample code I have provided?

  • Method PrintToPrinter sometimes throws 'The RPC server Unavailable'

    I am using ReportDocument.PrintToPrinter method in order to print a report in my asp.net 2.0 application
    Some times this method throws exception 'The RPC server Unavailable'
    but sometimes it works fine and prints the report to printer
    Is there any setting on web server or print server I am missing?

    I have  five windows server 2012 domain controller. In this 3 servers in one site and other two are in different sites.
    Replication between the sites its seems working fine.
    I ran the report for checking AD health. 
    Repadmin /showrepl ===> Its coming successful.
    But when iam running this below command..
    repadmin /replsummary ====> RPC server unavailable coming for server located in other site.
    Again i ran DCDIAG command(DCDIAG /TEST:DNS /V /E /F:<e:\dns.log> ).Its coming like this...

    To get more detailed error information, we can run dcdiag \dnsbasic command on Test1 and Test5.
    Are test4 and test5 in the same site?

  • Fail to add domain user into local group - RPC server unavailable

    Hi all,
    I have a server-1 which is join to domain A. I need to add a domain user from domain B to my server-1 local group. I keep getting "The RPC server is unavailable" error message.
    But i try to use another server-2 which also belong to domain A and same network segment as server-1, i do not encounter this error while adding domain B user onto it.
    The problematic server-1 is a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 server. It is install with IIS and MS SQL database 2008.
    Just one thing i am guessing whether is it the cause of the problem. Before server-1 join to domain A, i did not disable windows firewall. I disable it only recently. Could this has cause the problem on my server-1?

    Let's recap to make sure I understand exactly what  you have going on:
    - Server 1 and Server 2 are both on Domain A and in the same site, behind the same firewalls
    - Adding a user from Domain B works on Server 1 but not Server 2.
    - You get an RPC error while adding Domain B's user on Server 2.
    Is Domain B on the other end of some firewall?
    - Can you do a portqry to a DC in Domain B from Server 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17148)
    - Run this command: portqry -n <DomainBFQDN> -p both -o 53,135,389,3268
       - We are testing DNS, RPC, LDAP and GC.  Do you see anything come back as filtered or not listening?
    - Do the same thing from Server 1 and compare the results.
    This sounds like a connectivity problem.

    Please can someone help? Cannot access my yahoo email now on ipad as keep getting error message saying "server unavailable" - tried to delete the account and retry but still keeps happening! Help .....

    This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
    You will have to access  "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
    Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password.  instead of the yahoo account password.

  • RPC Server unavailable (without errer code)

    I have installed Zebra Card Printer P330i and a HP Scanjet G4050 over USB cables connected onto the same Windows 7 PC. Individually, both appliances work separately fine but if Scanjet G4050 is installed either before or after the Zebra Card Printer, Card
    Printer it becomes inoperable. Zebra Card Printer seems not to work at all and crashes finally with (RPC Server is not available). I have tried "net stop Spooler; sc config Spooler depend= RPCSS; net start Spooler" and many others but to no avail.
    Is someone out there who has similar experience and got a solution for it? Would be extremely thankful.

    I suggest you check the printer's and scanner's properties under Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers and see whether they use the same port settings.
    If so, change the printer's port by following the user manual.
    If it doesn't work, please post back the event log related to this issue and also use Process monitor to capture the system actions after you install them all and during you open the printer to repro the issue.

  • Can't connect to X11 Windows ............ error message during installation

    ok, so i searched through the long list of messages on the forum and still don't have an answer. I am using a PC with redhat FC4 installed and trying to install Oracle 9 on the same PC. I tried to export my DISPLAY=hostname:0.0 and export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0.0 and neither worked.
    From the replies on the same error message, i gather that i do not need to run
    xhost +
    because i am on the same machine.
    What else can i check to get rid of this frustrating message ?
    Most replies on the erorr messages were from a few years ago as well.

    I solved my problem. It might be useful for other redhat FC users as well.
    I changed the default terminal to be an Xwindows terminal instead of the standard terminal. You can do that by clicking on "Desktop", "Preferences" or "More Preferences" and configuring your default terminal to be Xwindows.
    I was able to start installer WITHOUT exporting my display or any other command to get display going.
    The installer did complain about some font messages, but apparently it didn't pose a problem.
    BTW, i got Oracle 9.2.0.1 running on Redhat FC 4 using installation instructions i easily found on google. You need to use an old version of GCC (only during installation of software) and JRE (1.3.1_15); but it works. It will only be my "play at home" database. Probably not recommended for a production database.

    I don't see anything that a good call to Oracle Technical Support can't fix.
    Go use your service contract and open a Support Request (SR).
    Else wipe the system and resinstsall everything fresh.
    While you are at it, you should patch your Solaris 9 system with the newest full bundle you can get.
    SunOS Release 5.9 Version Generic_118558-03That system is about a decade under-patched.
    That suggests a deliberate lack of continual maintenance.

  • "Unknown Publisher" error message during installation

    Ok, I have tried for several days and even got ahold of Microsoft on this issue. Every time i go to download Itunes the download is ok, but when it goes to install Itunes, I ALWAYS get "Unknown Publisher" error message and installation is cancelled. How do i resolve this issue? Any ideas?????

    Some folks have had success by downloading and installing QuickTime standalone, then installing itunes after QT. iTunes needs QT codecs to play audio & video.

    Make sure to get the version withOUT itunes.
