RPM - DMS Interface
Hello All,
I am trying to build an interface between RPM and DMS. (We have the cProjects to DMS interface configured and working fine).
Can someone please point us in the right direction?
I have been trying to utilize 0RPMDOCUMENT object link for this purpose, but not sure how to make that work.
Thanks for your guidance.
We are following the document 'How To Implement Object Links for SAP Portfolio and Project Management' and trying to build the scenario.

Gaurav,
Mention the RFC destination in Destination field and make the object link Active by checking the option Active.
Note that if PPM and ECC both are in same instance mention RFC destination as None.
If relevant RFC destination is not available, check with Basis team.
Additionally, mention you web server if you want to launch ECC transactions through ITS server.
Cheers

Word Templates and EASY Document Management
Hi all
I am currently evaluating Easy DMS for a customer and a couple of questions popped up.
Is it possible to create new Word documents based on a template from SAP DMS directly in MS Word?
Is it possible to use DMS Template documents in EASY DMS.
By templates I mean, MS Word documents stored in SAP DMS that have been customised as templates?
Lastly, can we use the mergefield technology of SAP DMS, in the new WebUI, in the EASY DMS solutions. I.e. can the new word document include metadata, like Document Status, if it was created using the WebUI and the EASY DMS solutions?
Any answers are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
SonnySonny,
Kindly go through the following external vendor presentation about how a Easy DMS interface would look like.
http://www.ideo-nl.com/pdf/nb3Q05SAP_EDMSv2.pdf
If you have any questions after going through the presentation, please do let me know,

Can my start up disk be an external - forever
This one may seem like a duffus question but I wanted to be sure!
Can my start up disk where I have OS X installed be an external drive? Not as a back up but my permenant start up drive.
I ask as my Cube only has a 20GB internal (bless it) which is straining under the weight of OS X plus all associated filage.
So was thinking could have my 60GB external HD as my Start Up drive and use the Cubes 20GB internal as just storage - can I do this?
Thanks
RobThanks guys.
Right have forgotten about my 60 GB external as it is old an slow, but I also have a Lacie Big disk 250gb external which is connected via FireWire 400:
- Rotational Speed (rpm): 7200
- Interface Transfer Rate: FireWire 400 up to 400Mbits/s (50MB/s)
- Average Seek Time (Write): <10 ms
- Buffer: 8MB minimum
The internal drive on my cube is as follows:
- Rotational Speed (rpm): 5400
- Interface Transfer Rate: 66 mega-bites per second.
- Average Seek Time (Write): <9.0 ms
- Buffer: 2MB
So...I am thinking that my external is better than my internal and should improve things?
Thanks also for the advice about the upgrade - I would love to and "I would if I could but I cant" - just dont have the cash so am trying to make things better with what I already have.

You're missing the namespace prefix on some elements.
This should work :

FI/CO Costs/Budgets interface to RPM does not transfer released budget
Hi!
We need to transfer WBS Budget data with value type '45' (Released budget) from FI/CO to RPM.
We are using ECC6.0 on one hand and RPM 4.5 on the other.
Unfortunately it seems that the standard RPMFIN_02 interface transfers only budget data with '41' value type.
As far as I can see it seems hardcoded in SAPLRPM_FI_INTEGRATION program (and more specifically in the Include LRPM_FI_INTEGRATIONF02).
There is a BADI (RPM_FIN_INTF) which can be used to enhance the logic of the interface, and I was thinking using CONVERT_BW_WBS_BUDGET method, but the filter on value type '41' is applied before calling the exit, hence it does not help.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
GuillaumeHello Sasi,
I am facing long time after you same problem and scenario. Could you , please, share the solution found, if still in your mind?

Interface to send the BOM-DMS link to Other Legacy System.
Dear All,
I am Looking to MAP the Interface Between 2 SAP Systems to Send the Information Related to Document No, Version, and other Information from BOM.
I am unable to identify the table where i can get this details.
Kindly help on this.. this is very urgent requirement.
Thanks with Regards,
Baya JOHi Christoph,
Thanks for guidance. but DOCMAS is working for Material Master Record and it is working on CV01N.
Below are the Critical point where i am facing the problem:
1. The IDOC is not generating when any changes happended in existing Document Info
Record. is their any separate way availble to trigger the IDOC.
2. Regarding the DMS for Bill Of Material, how to trigger the IDOC for Document info Record?
I will give Sample BP:
Client is working on Engineering product, so they have the Desing Documents for Every Part as well Assenbly Desing Document for each Bill of Material (Header and Component). And Same Design Document No is Applicable for the Multiple Material Products and it will get added in to Existing Document Info Records (CV02N).
Now I needs to Genrate the IDOC to Multiple Systems in below Cases:
1. CV01N.
2. CV02N
3. After Document Info Records get linked to BOM.
hope you get clear picture.
Thanks With Records,
Baya Jo -
Dear Experts,
Kindly guide me how to do customization in SPRO for Doculink for SAP Solution
Nevigation: SPRO >> Open Text Archiving and Document Access for SAP Solutions >> Doculink for SAP Solution
When I got to change document CV02N and trying to save the document this is showing me an error message -
"Error : while checking in and storing in specified path"
I feel some customization setting missing here due to which I an getting this error.
Thanks in advance
Best Regards
SumedhaHi Sumedha,
This error means the storage location is not defined properly. Kindly check that you have defined storage location properly.
where r u storing these documents? Also check in customizing for this in current path which you are using. In standard dms we
are defining it in OAC0 and OACT.
I hope this will be very much helpful.

Hi Friends,
Any one used the above interface and form
Regards,
sasidharHi Karen,
It seems to me that because the decision point happens before the tabular form is rendered (via the tree right?) you don't really need a "On Change" DA.
I think you either need find the hms field c030, which could be hidden or visible, as depending on that value go hide or show the hms_info field.
You'll want to do this either on Page Load or After Refresh or both, it depends on how the tabular form gets refreshed.
Your DA On Load would be
Event: Page Load
Action: Javscript Code
The code:
$(".hms").each(function(index) {
if ($v(this) == 'N') {
var rowTR = $x_UpTill(this, 'TR');
$(rowTR).find(".hms_info").hide();
This code will find ALL your hms fields. if the field has a N then we go up to the TR, find the hms_info and hide it.
If your page refreshes on every row and the Y/N values don't change after the page loads then you're done!
What do you think?
Thanks
-Jorge

Can anybody give me a Input for the same from Both Java Development End as well as ABAP End, more inputs are required from ABAP end, since i have a very less ABAP Experience on working with DMS. Few Questions i have in my mind?
1. How to actually access the file contents with the help of Document Number?
2. With the help of Doc-Number we can extract the file from DMS sever but to provide a option for downloading in portal, the RFC should convert the File Contents into X-String or is there some other way?
+3. While Uploading the Data should be given in Which format to RFC? Are there any limitation with respect to size or formats. Is there any Standard RFC i can use directly in WD4 Java application to upload the file into DMS Server and which will return me the Document Number? +
Please give me your valuable inputs.
Thank You.

Cannot open PDF, Word 2010, or XLS files stored in DMS.
Hi Experts,
I have been working on a program to open a DMS file using a .net access. When I create a new attachment for lets say a purchases order and save the attachment as a pdf, the file save ok. But when I try and execute my program I get a dump. Below is the short dump info and the program code. Any help would be appreciated. I understand that the dump is because of a assignment problem but i don't understand why it is not assigned. I am using window 8.1 and Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe Xl.

Trouble adding regular oracle oci8 support to RPM, CentOs 5
Hello,
It seems that i'm missing smth simple while trying to add oci8 support to RPM.
I took Christopher Jones's SRPM for 5.2.3 as a base, but since i don't have and don't need a support for instant client i modified latest available 5.1.6 SRPM from CentOS 5 repo.

PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language. PHP attempts to make it
easy for developers to write dynamically generated webpages. PHP also
offers built-in database integration for several commercial and
non-commercial database management systems, so writing a
database-enabled webpage with PHP is fairly simple. The most common
use of PHP coding is probably as a replacement for CGI scripts.
The php package contains the module which adds support for the PHP
language to Apache HTTP Server.

Can I use a MY Book Pro external 500 gig Triple interface HD with FCE?
Hey everyone,
I just recently bought a Macbook pro and purchased FCE HD 3.5. I want to purchase a high capacity external HD. I want it mainly for my projects with FCE and other members of the family will be backing up to it. I want to keep my projects on the external and work on them from there not my main HD.
After doing some online research I was about to purchase the LaCie Big Disk Extreme. However there seemed to be a lot of bad reviews about early disk failures. The G Technology drives sound great but are a little pricey.
I came across the MY Book Pro addition 500 gig Triple interface HD from Western Digital and found that the 500 gig pro had similar spec to the LaCie but they never mention in the specs that it can be used for video editing. They only mention "Fast enough for video editing" in the 1TB raid 0 version. I'm just wondering if anyone is having success using the My Book Pro Edition. I checked the forums first and even check specs from apple on external drives and FCE but I was hope for some real use advise. I'm not trying to cheap out, I'm just trying not to buy a lemon & get the most storage and speed for my buck. I'll buy they higher end if I should. My video productions right now are 10 minute long movies with some video clips and stills but I'm hoping to advance to bigger (High Def) things. Any advise in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
The specs from Western Digital are as follows:
My Book™ Pro Edition™
External Hard Drives
500 GB, Triple Interface
Rotational Speed
7,200 RPM (nominal)
Average Latency
4.20 ms (nominal)
Seek Times
Read Seek Time
8.9 ms
Track-To-Track Seek Time
2.0 ms (average)
Serial Transfer Rate
FireWire 800
Serial Bus Transfer Rate (1394b)
800 Mbits/s (Max)
Macbook Pro 17" 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)The 500GB MyBook Pro should work fine. Just be sure to use a Firewire connection (not USB) to your Mac and format the drive as Mac OS Extended - Journaled. It will come from the factory as FAT32, so you'll need to reformat it. But wait - don't reformat it until you offload the ButtonManager, FW Driver and Retrospect software. You will need the first two to install your drive.
And that's one of the reasons I stay away from the MyBook drives - they were really designed for Windows systems, not Macs. For one, they have their own FireWire drivers and I see no reason to be required to install device-specific drivers on my Mac in order to use a consumer-grade hard drive. As far as I'm concerned, that's just bad design (or, perhaps design for systems other than Macs ...).
The 500GB Lacie Big Disk did get a bunch of bad reviews. However, the 500GB Lacie d2 Extreme is the same price and has much better reviews. The Lacie d2 Extreme drives are quite reliable; I have many and not one of them has failed me over the years. The 320GB d2 Extreme is currently $140 at newegg.com. See how that compares to the price of the MyBook. -
Getting error while invoking client interface method as a web service
Hi,
I have written one custom method inAppModuleImpl and include that custom method into the AppModule's Client Interface(AppModule-->Java-->ClientInterface).
It autogenerates two java classes: ClientInterfaceImpl class and interface class. I right clicked on ClientInterfaceImpl class and select the option create webservice proxy. Then I deployed my application into the WL Server. There I am able to see the webservice. But when I test the webservice and invoke the method. It is throwing the below exception:
