RRI in NW2004S - usibg SAPgui
Hi,
I configured the RRI from one InfoCube to the transaction in ERP.
During the execution the error message is displayed:
No Web server maintained for the presentation of log. system abc
Jump target cannot be executed
I would like to run ERP transaction in SAPgui for WIN. The original Q is run in BEX Analyzer and it is no use to run ERP transaction on WEB.
How can I setup RRI to use SAPgui for WIN?
Thanks and regards,
Tom
Hi,
In order to launch a WinGUI transaction from NW04s BEx Analyzer, you
need to make sure to use a SAPGui connection from BEx Analyzer to your
ABAP backend. This can be enforced by selecting "Logon with Attached
SAP GUI" on the "Behavior" tab of BEx Analyzer's "Global Settings"
dialog.

Hi,
I want to use RRI with NW2004's, when I'am in my report I can do GOTO the transaction VF03 but after I have a message "No Web server maintained for the presentation of log system" Jump target cannot be executed".
What is missing ?
Thanks for your help.
EricHi,
Check how to deploy with SDM:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/43/1f1b46e7dd2bc5e10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm
The steps are to start SDM Server and then start SDM Client to connect to server. Then from client you can deploy.
For errors on SDM, check the SDM logs under: C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\SDM\program\log
Look there from the files which are created today and search for relavent errors.

NW2004s ABAP Sneak Preview - SAPGui Problem Resolution
The download for the NW2004s ABAP Sneak Preview has a link for the SAPGui. The Gui that is downloaded is compilation 3, compilation 4 is required. You can get the correct Gui from the Software Download Center (SWDC). You should also download the FEP 1, bw700_1-10001615.exe.
Hi Dave,
try out:
ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/compilation4/

Using the SAP GUI from the NW2004s SneakPreview Download
Hello,
does anyone else have major problems with the SAPGUI from the NW2004 SneakPreview download page?

the sap gui from the NW2004s SneakPreview page is on patchlevel 8. The problem is when i use the latest sap gui from the service marketplace (full install!) i cant event call the gui. Getting a error when doubleclicking on the SAP Gui icon.
'The procedure entry point 'RfcResetTraceDir' could not be located in the dynamic link library 'LIBRFC32.dll' .'
So actually since i installed the NW2004s on my local notebook the only sap gui "working" (at least i can call it) is the one from the NW2004s Sneakpreview page but im getting this error mentioned here on all systems! not only on the NW2004s system

Report - Report Interface (RRI)
Hi All,
I am trying to figure out how the RRI function works with the NW2004s. I have configured this on the back-end using the RSBBS transaction but it does not show up neither in the Analyzer nor on the Web reports/Portal! Does anybody have an idea on how to go about this?
thanks,
PNIf you're working with a web template, make sure the parameter MENU_RRI is turned on in the entries of the context menu.
See context menu options here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/152fa54b315a38e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
If you are rendering a query in the portal, it will be using the standard 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN template - it's a good idea to save a copy this template before making any changes in the Web Application Designer.
If the RRI is set up correctly using RSBBS (are you going from query to query, or from query to template, or something else?) the RRI option should appear in the context menu when you execute the query in the BEx Analyzer (Excel add-in). -
RRI Target Template Appearance
Hello All,
We are running nw2004s. I have set up the RRI, with several queries as the "Sender", and one Web Template as the "Receiver".
The data in the Receiver template is correct, and works wonderfully.
Only one problem: When the template loads, the table and 10 charts load at the very bottom of the screen, with about two full pages of empty space before it. So, the user would have to scroll down a lot in order to view the results.
For both the template that contains the "Sender" query, as well as the "Receiver" template, all of the following are marked as 'false':
WARNINGS_VISIBLE
INFORMATION_VISIBLE
SYSTEM_MESSAGES_VISIBLE
None of them appear, but the space does.
Any ideas?
Cheers
robHi Rajani,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, in fact the template has the following:
Two Buttons
Analysis Item (report)
Table (2 rows by 5 columns - each contains a chart)
I tried another template, without a table, and the space disappears. But, for formatting purposes, I need to have the table. Any ideas why the table corrupts the page?

NW04 and NW2004s Preview on same machine possible?
Hi everybody,
has anyone managed to have both NW04 preview (ABAP) and NW2004s Preview (ABAP) installed on the same machine? Is it possible at all?
I would like to have both systems installed on my laptop and be able to start one of the servers at a time only (both would be installed but only one server running at a time).
Difficulties I see would be wether you actually install two different versions of the maxdb server (NW04-> MaxDB 7.5, NW2004s -> MaxDB 7.6) on the same machine and the fact that both sys-ids used for the preview edition are "NSP".
Currently I am running the NW2004s system inside a virtual machine, but this obviously has significant impact on the performance.
Any suggestions?
Thank you very much,
Jakob ThiloDo the same i did.
I've installed a sw of virtual machine (VMWARE) created a virtual machine and then installed the NW2004s in it.
Then i make the connection between host and the virtual machine. I've installed the sapgui on the host machine et voilà
I have a P4 3ghz with 1gb of ram and i use it to develop WD for abap application. I don't have any problem of speed.
Bye
Andrea
Pls reward if it helps -
Choose variable values error in BEX 7.10 Analyzer on NW2004S
In BEX analyzer, open a query and want to change variable values (even at startup of a query), I get the following error when clicking the "select from list" button. I have the latest version/patches of sapgui 7.10 and the BEX analyzer. .NET framework 1, 2 installed.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I found another message about this:

Have somebody found a resolution? Please help me!

NW2004s ABAP Trial Version - using 2 SAP-GUI'S
hi there,
i just download the big files for nw2004s abap trial version. it includes sap gui 6.40, and i have the following problem:
we have sap r/3 4.6c now and on every client (also on mine) we have sap-gui 620 installed.
for 4.6c i still have to use sapgui 620 as i want to be on the same level then all the other users.
can i use BOTH sap-guis on ONE pc ?
regards, MartinI do understand, and my answer comes from my culture at my company. Sorry for that. All of our users are on sapgui 6.20(not sure about patch level), I always have the latest SAPgui version/patch level, at this point 6.40 sp 22. I have not seen a gui problem in some time with the users on 6.20, but when I did, you could usually tell that it is a gui problem by the behavior and/or ABAP short dump.
I understand your feeling about being on the same level of your users, so I won't suggest that you install the 6.40 version. So, that said, you will not be able to use the NW2004s system on your machine with your SAPgui 6.20 version. And I believe that you can not have more than one instance of sapgui. When you install sapgui 6.40 it will uninstall all previous version of the gui.

[WAD] Filter on a structure in an RRI link
Hello again, I have a second question,
Is it possible to put a filter on structure's formula in an RRI link?
I tried :
SAPBWOpenWindow(SAP_BW_URL_Get ()"&CMD=RRI& RRI_RECEIVER=QURY0002 &FILTER_IOBJNM='MY_STRUCTURE'&FILTER_VALUE='MY_FORMULA_NAME'&DATA_PROVIDER=" + escape(dataprovider),"CustDetails",600,400);
But it doesn't work. I thought the problem could come from the fact that a formula has no technical name but even with a ratio it failed!
Thanls in advance.
MathieuHi,
First of all: Additional filter and navigation options are not possible with the command cmd=RRI.
This means additional filters in RRI links are not possible.
The filter link itself (meaning calling the Template without RRI and filter the data) would look like:
<A href="<SAP_BW_URL CMD='LDOC' TEMPLATE_ID = 'MY_WEBTEMPLATE' FILTER_IOBJNM='43C72B1F0D4D5B73E10000009F32EC25' FILTER_VALUE='4042UXMO7XH2LONXW39H41OV9'>">LIEN</A>
With BW 3.5. (NW2004) you could use the command RESET_DATA_PROVIDER with the parameter RRI='X'. This will internally utilize the RRI technology to transfer filter values and variables. With this command you can still add additional filter values or change the navigation state and so on

Error Installing Sneak NW2004s Step 17
Hi all,
I tried to install Sneak Preview NW2004s on my system.
Formely I had installed SneakPreview 2004 Java and uninstalled this with removing all old stuff from the directories and registry.
The new installation has an error in step 17 Import ABAP.
Who can help?
Thanks
Andreas

H:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386\R3load.exe: END OF LOG: 20051222202118I had a problem in the ABAP Load, but not "permision denied". I believe the cause was that I had installed Java SDK 1.4.2_09 and after I rebooted it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to 1.5. Without thinking, I said yes. After I hit the ABAP Load error I uninstalled NSP and Java SDK. I manually deleted a bunch of files that weren't killed by the uninstall. The second time the installation worked. I had done three things differently: I installed SAPGUI first. I downloaded SDK 1.4.2_10 and didn't upgrade it. I used the 680mb value in the instructions for the I/O Buffer cache instead of the default of 100mb.
If you want to run SGEN, to compile all the delivered ABAP, you will need to enter at least 12000 for the Data volume size. I have two Volumes of 9000 each.

NW2004s ABAP Trial Version Message Type X
Hie
I have installed NW2004s ABAP Trial Version but immediately after log on the system dumps with message type X, any transaction i try to execute dumps with that error. I am not even able to do ST22 it dumps as well!! Is there an installation step i missed out on??
regards
Isaac PrinceHi Prince,
What else have you tried? Normally, you will get this message when you use an outdated version of the SAPGUI or if the system load did not complete correctly. Have you tried restarting the system?
Another place to check are the work process traces under the work directory. One of the dev_w# files should tell you if you are running into memory issues.
Hope that helps!

NW2004s Trial only Printer is LPT1:
Hello,
I have installed the actual NW2004s on a Win2000-System.
OK, this Win-Version is not supported, but it runs properly and newer Versions would have the same Problem.
The problem is, that the only available Printer is LPT1:
I have an Epson-Printer(Stylus Photo 830U) connected via USB.
I have no physical parallel printer-port.
Any ideas, how to redirect the NW2004s-print-output to an USB-Printer or an PDF-File ?
Thanks
ArminHello Oliver,
the USB-printer is running now :-).
For anybody who is interested, here are the steps:
- Start the SAP printer daemon
In Windows-menue: Start->Programs->SAP Front End->SAP printer daemon
Or the exe-file: <Drive>:<path>\GUI\SAPgui\SAPlpd\SAPlpd.exe
- Start transaction SPAD (Spool Administration)
- In the card "Devices/Servers" find the field "OutputDevices"
- Write the name of a new printer (for example: "MyPrinter") in the field "outputdevices"
- Click the "Display"-Buttom at the right side of the field.
The list of Output Devices appears, yet, there is "no entry defined".
- In the main Menue choose the entry: "Output Device"->"create".
Now you are in the Window Create Output Device, and the name of your new printer is already filled.
- In DeviceAttributes/DeviceType choose: HKSAPWIN:MS Windows driver via SAPLPD.
- In DeviceAttributes/SpoolServer choose: <YourServer>
- In AccessMethod/HostSpoolAccessMethod choose: S: Print Using SAP Protokoll
- In AccessMethod/Host printer write (exactly): __DEFAULT
- In AccessMethod/Destination host write the <name of your server>.
The servername must be the same name listed in the saplpd-window after Hostname:
- Save your new printer.
- Apply with "yes", that a shortname is automatically created.
The printer should be ready now, but in the User maintanance(SU01), the default for "Output Immedately"
is not activated. You have to change this setting for every user who wants to print, otherwise, your prints will remain in the spool-queue.
Hope this helps

How to find out wheter user is using WINGUI or SAPGUI

Anyone know how to output an XML file from ABAP to a non sapgui location?
I have a program that creates XML and then outputs a file via CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download. But now I want to execute the program in background mode and therefore I need to be able to output that XML to a NON sapgui file location. Current code creates the XML to an internal table which is binary then the gui_download method converts that to output XML. . Does anyone know how I can change the code to either a) output the XML to an internal table which can be output via, say, a TRANSFER command..or, b) output the created binary table of XML to a NON sapgui file location?
Excerpts from current code are as follows:
first the XML is created (to the binary file)
Creating a ixml factory
l_ixml = cl_ixml=>create( ).
Creating the dom object model
l_document = l_ixml->create_document( ).
Fill root node with value XML
l_element_xml = l_document->create_simple_element(
name = 'XML'
parent = l_document ).
Create tag 'HEADER' as child of 'XML'
l_element_header = l_document->create_simple_element(
name = 'HEADER'
parent = l_element_xml ).
header information about the file and general data about the fleet follows
l_value = c_fleet_import.
l_element_dummy = l_document->create_simple_element(
name = 'TYPE'
value = l_value
parent = l_element_header ).
etc.......
then the xml is connected to the stream factory and rendered
Creating a stream factory
l_streamfactory = l_ixml->create_stream_factory( ).
Connect internal XML table to stream factory
l_ostream = l_streamfactory->create_ostream_itable( table = l_xml_table ).
Rendering the document
l_renderer = l_ixml->create_renderer( ostream = l_ostream
document = l_document ).
l_rc = l_renderer->render( ).
Saving the XML document
l_xml_size = l_ostream->get_num_written_raw( ).
and then output to the file
IF sy-subrc = 0.
CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
EXPORTING
bin_filesize = l_xml_size
filename = 'g:\sapdms\BSCC-DEV\EFPAC XML Files\ALL.xml'
filename = '/TRICK/727/OUT/ZEFP/EFPAC.XML' "doesnt work with sap gui
filetype = 'BIN'
CHANGING
data_tab = l_xml_table
EXCEPTIONS
OTHERS = 24.
as implied by the comments the method above will successfully output the XML file to the g:drive but will not output to /TRICK/ location, which is where I need it to go in a background mode run.
This is a problem which has defeated all our local expertise and I would appreciate any help given... Barry JonesTry this code below:
data l_xml_table2 type table of xml_line with header line.
W_filename - This is a Path.
if w_filename(02) = '
open dataset w_filename for output in binary mode.
if sy-subrc = 0.
l_xml_table2[] = l_xml_table[].
loop at l_xml_table2.
transfer l_xml_table2 to w_filename.
endloop.
endif.
close dataset w_filename.
else.
