RRI for WEB application

Hi experts,
I am using RRI to jump from a summarized query to a detailed query (both from the same infoprovider) I've set the assignmnt details as variable for Region Infoobject which is a variable in the source and target query. The issue is that the query works fine in BEX iam not getting selection screen in the target query but when i publish in WAD its populating the selection screen for the target query as a result we get selection screen twice one for the source query and the other for the target query. Pls help me out in this

I tried creating a variable of type replacement path. but it doesn't work. The region variable is a user/default entry type in the source query so the target query again populates for the selection screen when we use replacement path type variable in the target query. The issue is fixed at BEX level when i use the user/default entry variable in the target query and maitained the assignement details as variable for region so when i jump to the target query it takes the same input as the source query's input at Bex level but when i jump at the WAD output it is populating the selection screen the assignment details doesn't work. hope am clear pls let me know if u require any inputs

Urgent:Please Help. Need to deploy web application with servlet:(

Tomcat 4.0 is already installed.
Trying to deploy a web application and invoke a servlet through it.
Here is the command I am using for deploying the application:
http://localhost:8080/manager/install?path=/NewApplication&war=file:d:\Tomcat4\webapps\NewApplication
The application get deployed. However, I have a problem. As soon I stop and restart the server, this application is gone.
1. Please someone help: How should I make it permanent so that the application stays even if I restart the server.
2. I am not able to access the servlets placed in the /WEB-INF/classes/ sub-directory under NewApplication directory.
If you need I can cut and paste the web.xml file which will show the deployment descriptor.
Please help: How do I make this work. I need it urgent.
Any help will be appreciated.

The simplest solution would be to put the war file inside the webapps directory and restart the server. You should be able to access the app using the http://servername/app

Deploying a custom Web Application in Oracle Apps 11.5.10..Urgent

Hi,
I need to develop and deploy a custom J2EE based Web Application in Oracle Apps (11.5.10).
Is it mandatory to build it using OA framework?
As an example, If I develop a "CD Library" J2EE application using JSPs(View),Servlet(Controller) and Utility classes(Model),will it be supported during upgrades in future.
I have done the same in 11.5.9. (which doesn't have OA Framework support).
I had deployed JSPs in $OA_HTML, Servlet and model classes in $OA_JAVA.
I understand that the same is possible in 11.5.10.Can I follow the same approach for 11.5.10?What are the pros and cons?
Basically, Why should I go for OA Framework to develop and deploy a custom J2EE WebApplication though I can do it as explained above.
If you are aware of any article on this please share it with me.

To conclude my understanding,
If I create a new J2EE web Application with
- n number of JSPs
- 1 servlet
- and n number of Java model classes,
I can deploy all these in $OA_HTML and $OA_JAVA and use it as custom application.
I need few more clarifications
My JSPs do not follow Oracle BLAF standards
Java model classes are not BC4J objects
The servlet is unique for the custom application and page flow does not include invoking OA.jsp.
Stil, can i continue with my approach?
Will it be supported during upgrade?

Urgent Save as button in BI Web application designer

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I am using button group web item for SAP standard command "Call Save DialogSave_as". In my clientsite I have web application with two tabs and more than two tabs. For web applications with two tabs save as button on top of tabs works fine for both drilldowns. I mean one save as button for both tab reports drilldown and save in portal functionality works fine. How can I use same scenario for web application more than two tabs.
For example: I have two tabs in web apllication with two reports. The user drilldown on both of them and want to save drilldowns in portal by one click on button "save as", which works fine. But he want same functionality in web application with more than two tabs.
Can anyone help me in this. I greatly appreciate your help. I think I need to write some Java script program for this, which I am not familiar with. If I need to write Java sciript can you send me code.

I have just seen your reply. As per my understanding, you would like to provide an option "Personalization". In this case, you can give an option to the user as Tool Bar which consist of "CSV", "Variable Sele", "Excel", "Personalization", "Delete Personalization" etc Buttons.
As soon as the use click on Personlization after Filters, drill down it gets saved until he delete personalization.
To give this type of option, you can go with below code in your "tool bar" template,
Button to "Personalization"

The notification messahes (JMS related) are here for information purpose and not related to your application.
The ERROR J2EE HTTP-00004 is related to your application, is looks like you have a misconfiguration or something bad with your application and the module/application named "datatags".
Could you please give more information about the application that you are deploying?
- how do you deploy it?
- what is the packaging? EAR or WAR, how did you package it? (Jdev or other?)
- what are the different modules that you are using? (web apps, ejb, ...)
- can you run the application from JDeveloper if you are using it?

In BW 7.0 Role Menu Web item will be replaced by the role-based display of BI content in SAP NetWeaver Portal. In addition to the pure Web-based display of BI content in roles, additional functions result from this, especially in regard to display and editing of any content in one environment.

Unable to access java web application index page on Weblogic server 10.3.6

I have deployed a Web application on Weblogic server.
My war file is very basic with just a index page.
I am able to deploy & access its index page properly in OC4J ( applicaton server on soa suite 10g ) and apache tomcat.
But when i deployed same war file in weblogic am not able to access its index page, Getting below error:
Error 503--Service Unavailable
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
*10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable*The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay may be indicated in a Retry-After header. what does Prepared indicates here?*

In weblogic 10.3.6, when you deploy using console, you have to click on start button which appears in Deployments page.

Need support to develop a Web Application-T Shirt Designer

Hello Everyone
I am new here. So a big hello to all of you.
Well, I am writing here because I urgently need an expert opinion on the matter mentioned below. And I would be glad if I could receieve some professional advice on this forum.
I have to create an online T shirt Designer (a Visual Configurator), i.e.a web based application where the user will be able to select the various elements of a T shirt such as color, text, graphics etc and visualize the same in real time and then place the order for the product. Here the cost will be automatically added at diferent stages i.e. when a text/graphic is selected while the shipping cost is added at the stage of check out . Finally as per the total cost, the final payment is made through the payment gateway.
Now my question is which adobe product would be best for designing this visual configurator considering the following points.
1. This visual configuartor has to be first designed and then embedded on an E commerce website as a web application.
2. Like any other T shirt designer, the images will be swapped/changed. So mainly the development would involve creating a layout/structure wherein a certain process or series can be systematically organized to help a user configure the product.
3. This configurator application would involve mathematical calculation i.e. adding costs at different stages. So business rules will have to be applied and a payment gateway has to be integrated with the application.
Mostly the online T shirt designer softwares I have seen are based on Flash. But I am not sure if this is the best product for my requirement.

Go to CustomInk.com. Their T-shirt Design App is not Flash based which is refreshing. Instead, they're using a sophisticated combination of CSS, JavaScript and PHP/MySql.

Need help in retrieving a varchar in a web application.

HI,
I need a urgent help in selecting a varchar column on to the web application.
Here are I am using the DB as MSSQL. I can see more than 1000 characters when I open the table in Enterprise Manager, but the same query if I excute in SQL Query Analyser, I see the result with only 256 characters. In the same way my Java application is working. In my DB table I have a column with nvarchar and I want to write to code to get that infomration of 2000characters on to the web page.

However, the interesting thing here is that the SQL
analyzer displays the same 256 charater for the select statement...So you see 1000 using one MS tool and 256 using another tool? And neither of these have anything to do with java.
Hmmm.....to me that suggests that it has nothing to do with java.
If it was me I would start looking at my assumptions about where the data is coming from:
-Is it the same database?
-Is it the same table?
-Is it the same row?
-Is it the same field?
-Is something modifying it while I am looking at it?

URL link in rows/colomns of a report web application designer.

Hi,
I would like to create a URL link in a report which jumps to documents on livelink.
For example:
1. bw    30.000    www. google.nl
2. sap   40.000    www. sap.com
3. basis 50.000   www. nu.nl
etc.
etc.
Do all the rows have different URLS, is that possible in the web application designer? Or do I have to use RRI? Or a user exit?

I used the RRI already but would like to have a hyperlink in the report. (So, the prefix of the URL is always the same an I have put this in RRI and used the & and contract ID as dynamic part of the URL.)
In a BW web report, our customer would like to display a characteristic value as a hyperlink, so that when clicking on the link, the user is taken to an external website holding a document. SO I am just looking for a javascript perhaps? Or maybe even abap in transformation? To actually create the hyperlink in this report.

Probloms deploying web application in weblogic 8.1

Hi,
I've been using weblogic8.1 to host my web applications.
The problem that i'm facing is that when i try to upload/deploy the (.war) file through weblogic console it shows the status as success but when i try to access a web resource, it gives me an error saying " The resource did not process correctly" on the browser, where as when i place the (.war) file directly in the applications folder of the user domain i'm able to access the web resource successfully on my browser.
Can anyone help me in resolving this issue. I require it urgently.

WLS 9.2 includes pretty advanced features in this area. Both deployment plans and application libraries could be used. There's also a domain/lib directory where jar files can be placed and are visible throughout the server instance.
          Unfortunately 8.1 has none of these features. In 8.1, your choices are to either add these into the $CLASSPATH, or package them in the application.

Xslt transformation error in web application deployed on top of SOA

I am doing xsl transformation using Javax API in JDveloper, is working fine when it is a simple java application. But fails to run if I deployed the same as web application. Also I have mentioned the xsl files in the server path properly. But receiving the same error. Also I have searched lot in the net, not able to find the problem . Please help me in this. very urgent.
