RRI Jump into New Window
I am trying to figure out a way to have a new query or even template open in a new window on the portal when using a report jump (RRI).
I have my BEx Web Analyser iView set to open in "Portal Content Area". If I change that to open in a new window, the RRI still opens on top of the sender query.
I would like to have the user have a separate window opened on top of the original query to compare results when jumping.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
I have not been able to find a solution yet, I know there must be a way though.
As an example the variable screen works this way. Initially when you run a report and the variable screen pops up full screen for the whole report. Then later on if you right click and refresh variable (or add button) it does a pop-up vs. a full screen variable refresh.
If anybody could help us on this issue that would be great.
Prakash? any ideas. It would be greatly appreciated.

Firefox 5.0 does not open link into new window
Firefox 5.0 does not open link into new tab. I have a netbook also and tab options work fine, links open into a new window. However on this Dell it does not work. Tab options in Firefox and Google are set right, but don't work that way. Running Windows 7 on Dell, Windows Starter on netbook.
The Template .dwt file is only used locally by DW itself, there's no reason to upload it to the server unless you intend to share it with someone. You have to upload each individual page that the Template updates, every time you update the template and propagate that change across the child pages.
It would probably be better to use a server side include. That way, you could update one file then upload it and all of your pages would automatically carry that update...

Magic Trackpad issues with opening tabs into new windows.
I used to be able to double tap and drag a tab out of the row of tabs in Chrome and put it into it's own windows. Now the double tap and drag doesn't work. I have to depress the trackpad with my thumb while tapping on the tab and then drag it into a new window. Tried unchecking and rechecking all the boxes in Trackpad preferences, but that didn't work. Anybody have any other thoughts? Could upgrade to 10.8.4 have done this or something? (Running Mountain Lion on iMac mid 2010).
I think I just found the answer although how that changed I have no idea. Under System Preferences/Accessability/Trackpad Options, I had to enable dragging. Hope that helps someone if it ever happens to them.

Tabs keep turning into new windows
I keep many tabs open both on this work computer and my home computer. This morning, at work, when I go into a tab, Firefox pops the tab out and turns it into a new window (and removes the tab from my regular viewing screen). This is quite frustrating. i don't have nearly as many tabs here as I have at home (where this has never happened) but I rely on tabs to keep things organized and streamlined. No particular rhyme or reason for this. It isn't happening every time or to every tab. But it keeps happening randomly.
Make sure that you do not drag a tab down in the browser window.
Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs.<br />
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.<br />
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

ADF 11G: opening PDF into new Window using Jasper Report
Hello, I am using JDev 11.1.1.5.0
I have a page into a bound Task FLow containing a table and a "print "button".
I am using Jasper Report to create a PDF document.
I want this document to be opened into a new Window when the user click on the button.
I've been reading several threads/blogs to do this but it is not working.
please help me out with the sample or some link where I can refer.
Thanks
SanjeevHi All,
Today I checked and got the Reason why Server is getting shut down while closing the Report window.... this is just because of JasperViewer.
so while opening the JasperViewer to show the Report we need to pass the second parameter as False.
JasperViewer.viewReport(jasperPrint,false);k thanks for your update....
but still my actual problem exist....
I don't want to use JasperViewer to view the Report.
Like when I'm clicking on Button PDF Report is opening in the same Winodw.
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition",
"inline; filename=\"ReportFile.pdf\"");it will open as attachment if I'll use the below code and my ShowReport Button is getting disabled....
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition",
"attachement; filename=\"ReportFile.pdf\"");As in Page ShowReport Button is getting disabled so after exporting the Report I want to redirect to the page but getting Error like Illegal State Exception: Response Already Commiteed

This is probably an easy question to answer for most of you
out there, but how can I create a hyperlink in Flash to open in a
new window? Something similar to the <a target="_blank" href="
http://www..." tag in HTML. The AS I've
been using for button symbols is:
on (release) {
getURL("
http://web.address.com");
but this opens in the same window.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
BlackHatHunterHere you go
on (release) {
getURL("
http://web.address.com" ,
"_blank");

Firefox tabs keeps getting popped up into new windows?
Please help me figure this out. It's so annoying at times, the I am not doing anything then the tab would suddenly popout to a new window. I don't mind dragging it back to the other window to rejoin the tabs but its getting really annoying especially when I'm doing something of importance.
This tearing-off and detaching the tab to a new window can happen with you move the mouse a bit down while clicking the tab.
You can try this extension:

Tabs are tearing away into new windows
Hello!
I'm having a recurring issue with my Acer laptop, using IE 11 for Windows 7: periodically, a tab will seem to 'stick' to my finger and fly off and become its own window. I'd love to stop this happening, or at least to figure out how to reintegrate it back
into the row of open tabs, to keep things to one browsing window.
Thanks a lot!is there a specific place to drag it to?
I find it is trickiest to do when the tab bar is full. Try experimenting with a window which has only two tabs. Then in case this helps provide a bigger landing area, use the
Show tabs on a separate row option for a non-Fullscreen window. Alt-Space h (Alt-Space h in a Fullscreen window means something else.) Another tip that I have given before when answering this question
is: once you are doing the drag ignore thinking about what you are dragging and concentrate only on the fact that it is a new representation of your pointer. In terms of analogies with other drag procedures it is closer to dragging a tab among
tabs to change its position than it is to dragging a Favorite from your Links list up to be a button on your Favorites bar. The latter has a clear feedback mechanism that we can look for (the black bar); the former just sort of magically happen, although
I suppose when you do it slowly enough there is a transition phase to notice and look for. ; )

Loading an .swf, keeps loading into new window....
Hi,
I am attempting to play with AS3 for the first time. I have a combo box that I need to load in different .swf files when something is selected in the combo box.
I have 2 functions, one will load a different url, based on what is in the data field for each item in the combo box when selected:
function changeHandler(event:Event):void {
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest();
request.url = ComboBox(event.target).selectedItem.data;
navigateToURL(request);
aCb.selectedIndex = -1;
The other function loads in a .swf which is what I want:
function changeHandler(event:Event):void {
trace("you clicked me");
var loadit = new Loader();
addChild(loadit);
loadit.load(new URLRequest("movie1.swf"));
but it's not set up based on the selectedItem.data so it doesn't change based on what is selected in the combo box.
I'm not sure what needs replaced in the second function to get it work like the first with the selectedItem.data....?
Any ideas...?Ok, this is the updated code I have now, but it appears that I need a way to unload the movie? Because when I click on click the first label in the combo box, movie1.swf loads, when I click the second label, movie2.swf loads on top of it.
Is that what would fix that problem?
var sfUniversities:Array = new Array(
var aCb:ComboBox = new ComboBox();
aCb.dropdownWidth=210;
aCb.width=200;
aCb.move(20, 20);
aCb.prompt="Here is a list";
aCb.dataProvider=new DataProvider(sfUniversities);
aCb.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, changeHandler);
aCb.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, changeHandler);
addChild(aCb);
function changeHandler(event:Event):void {
var request:URLRequest=new URLRequest(aCb.selectedItem.data);
var loadit = new Loader();
addChild(loadit);
loadit.load(request); -
When I clik on weblinks they all open into new windows making it somewhat painful to clik on window in the menu bar to go to each new page. I would rather have a feature that would allow me to merge all of those individual windows into tabs within one page.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox openedThank you. That worked. I was able to open 1 window with multiple tabs. Thanks cor-el!

</HTML>You can open a frame, and have a very small applet on your html page. Perhaps you can set the applet size to (0, 0).
You could also open a new browser window that is not resizable and contains your applet in its full size and without the toolbar buttons and menubar. I think you need javascript to configure the new browser window like that. -
Firefox initially opens new tabs as tabs, then switches to new windows
I am running FF 14.0.1 and the following problem has persisted through a number of versions.
Initially FF will open new tabs...Ctrl+t works, right-click open in new tab etc. all work fine. Sometimes tabs are now issue and I can have maybe 20 or more tabs open. Then other times we seem to get to some arbitrary limit, say 5 tabs, and from then on every new tab opens a new window. Any external link opens in a new window, a Ctrl+t opens as a new window, all new windows are single frame, e.g. you can't have a number of windows each of say 5 tabs, just the original window with (say) 5 and then a series of windows with only single pages in each and from which Ctrl+t only opens a new window.
A complete restart does sometimes cure things and I can go back to having different pages in different tabs, and then something...no obvious pattern...kick us into 'new window only' mode after which even if I reduce the number of tabs in the original multi-tabbed window, Ctrl+t only opens new windows.
It's really starting to get to me... I've trawled the support info and am wondering about a complete reset or even uninstall and re-install. places.sqlite is checked as being valid and I've reindexed it too, all to no effect.Well I think the following shows the odd state FF has got itself into. So I...
# Located the profile folder
# Closed FF (14.0.1)
# Renamed (rather than deleted) the localstore.rdf file
# Restarted FF in safe mode
The main point then was that excepting the change in layout, that tabs didn't work at all; the option was greyed-out, the + tab did nothing and Ctrl+t did nothing.
The then stopped, deleted the new localstore.rdf and restored the old/orginal one and restarted. This restored my layout by still new tab is entirely gone...the option is greyed-out in the menus, the + tab dodn't work and Ctrl+t does nothing. Ctrl+n does give a new window. In addition:
# The forward and back buttons have disappeared
# The toolbars have disappeared despite showing as enabled in the View:Toolbars menu
Opening a new windows however give a correct layout, e.g. back and forward and toolbars appear and New tab is enabled, however, it either via menu of via Ctrl+t only opens new windows.
The start in Safe mode sadly didn't seem to help, but I will experiment further...
Images:
# Note the loss of back and forward buttons and no toolbar
# This is simply a Ctrl+n new window...back and forward arrows and toolbars restored
# This is in the 'parent' multi-tabbed window (with no back/forward etc.). Note how New tab is greyed out explaining why + tab and Ctrl+t simply doesn't work...doesn't open new window, simply does nothing at all -
New window everytime when submit button clicked in JSF
Hi all,
I am facing an issue where I need to popup a new window everytime the submit button on my JSF form is clicked.
I have tried several methods but none is working to my purpose.
1. Add a target="_blank" attribute in the JSF form. The problem is that even if any of my ValuechangeListeners get invoked, the page is rendered in a new window. My ValuechangeListeners work on onchange="submit()".
2. Invoke a new window from javascript and name the window as say" new" . Also name the form's target as "new" but this does not generate a new window everytime and also problem 1 persists.
3. If i use actionlistener and onclick event on button in the form, then the new page is rendered in both current page and new window.( javascript for new window is written).
What I need is when a person clicks on submit button in the form, a new window should always popup up and the page should be rendered in the new window. The original form should remain as it is so that a user can again do a submit and get a new window.
Please suggest.devayani wrote:
Thanks all for the replies.
Try onchange="this.form.target='_self';submit();"This works fine if all the valuechangelisteners are invoked. Suppose,if I dont select the radio
button and dont select any values in list box. Now if i click submit, since the target=_blank,
the page giving validation errors (for not selecting the list box)
renders in a new page. As expected behavior, not my solution.
If you need validation to remain in the same window (and that seems like the best for the user experience you have described), then delay the creation of the new window until after the request finishes. I.e., your page should always go back on itself. Under the right conditions (which you can set in your action method) it conditionally writes JavaScript which targets the new window.
>
Try returning false from the onclick event.I had tried it long back, so I just messed it up while writing, there were no actionlisteners.
sorry about my third solution, lets consider solution 2 as below:
Javascript
<script type="text/javascript" >
function newWindow(){
window.open('','mywindow','width=400,height=200');
return false;
</script>
JSF
<h:form id="Frm_New" target="mywindow">
<h:commandButton id="btn_submit" disabled="false"
action = "#{TestBean.submitValues}"
value="#{bundle.SC_SUBMIT}"
onclick ="newWindow()">But again this approach has above problems and also no new window everytime. For new window you said:
Append a time stamp or random number to
the end of the window name.This solution will not work as I have to reset the target for my form everytime to this new window name.You can remember the name of the window if necessary. Although you seem to be changing things on the fly; earlier the problem was you didn't get a new window every time. Or are you just confused on how to set the target?
onclick="var wname = getWindowName(); createNewWindow(wname); this.form.target = wname; return true;">
I was trying to actually set the target of the form as _blank at runtime during one of the phases of JSF lifecycle ( by using phaselistener). Although its not working as of now. Does this sound a good approach
This is because I dont think that setting it on jsf would work as the page rendering on a new window( in my case) not only depends on clicking the submit button only but it depends on whether the user is done with all vaildations and now has to see the final result into new window.This would be addressed by the conditional JavaScript solution above. -
DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.
First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.
I know this is long, but here is my code for the page.

<!-- InstanceEnd --></html>I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

Creating a link in a PDF form to open into a new window
I have created the PDF form and every thing seems to be working fine. But I would like to set a link in the form that would open into a separate page. I have tried target="_blank" and onclick="window.open(this.href, 'child', 'scrollbars,width=650,height=600'); return false" with no success. Can someone give me some direction on how to create a link within a PDF form that will open into a new window?
Try this, using JavaScript:
app.launchURL("http://www.adobe.com",true);

Is any Logic 8 (Studio) user able to open STP with audio units plug-ins?
All of my 3rd party audio units plug-ins work with Logic 8: UAD, Powercore, PSP, NomadFactory, and RND. MainStage and WaveBurner open without any problems. Soundtrack Pro will only open if all of my AU plug-ins are removed to a "Components (Disabled)
