RRI Jump Query opens the receiver query in standard Template??

Hi,
Few questions from me (Note I have searched the forum database for answers but didnt get a convincing answer)
1) How can I use 1 web custom built template for 2 different queries?
2) I have created the sender receiver setting for the Jump queries. The problem that I am facing is that the sender query uses the custom built web template but when I use GOTO the receiver query instead of using the custome template it executes in standard webtemplate. Kindly suggest how can I open the receiver query in the custom built web template after GOTO function.
Thanks for all your help in advance..
- Amit

Hi SS,
I agree to the statement that RRI uses link to Query but if we setup the custom web template for that jump query in WAD....it will never open in that template via RRI ???
That very disappointing discovery for me !!!
Any other possiblity to make this work????
What if I have the sender and receiver query web template(custom) same???.is it possbile to use the same template for these two template even after jump ???

  • RRI - How to edit the Receiver query

    Hello All,
    As per http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e3/156e3fefa13042e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
I created a Target for my query (sender). The target or receiver query is also a BeX query in the same system.
Now in my sender query, I have Department in my rows and Employees in the columns. When I double click on Department, it takes me to Target but it does not show the report in the format I want. How do I modify the receiver query?
Also if someone has good knowledge in RRI, it would be really helpful if you can help me out with my query?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
-- Characteristics that are to be filled from the sender query should be defined as free characteristics. A hierarchy node restriction, for example, can also be transferred to free characteristics as a property.
-- Changeable variables for the receiver query are not filled by the RRI.
-- Selections for various InfoObjects are transferred if the InfoObjects have the same reference characteristic.
When the RRI is called, the sender query transfers the following filters to the receiver query:
    ·        global filters
    ·        values in the navigation block (dynamic filters including the presentation hierarchy)
    ·        filters from the restricted key figure selected
    ·        filters from the drilldown characteristics selected
The system first fills the variables and then fills the navigation block. In order to do this, a unique characteristic assignment must be possible. Selections for various InfoObjects can then be transferred, as long as the InfoObjects reference the same basic characteristic. Hierarchy nodes are triggered in selections and can then be transferred to the respective InfoObjects.

  • Clarification req. about the receiver query output in RRI

    Hi,
I need some insight on the output that i see in the receiver output in RRI.
For e.g, In the sender query, I see a list of Cost Elements. Now, I see one of the Cost Element ( select any one context cell) and the perform the RRI Jump.
Now , can you please let me know if in the receiver Query, do I see output only for that particular Cost Element OR all the cost Elements ( irrespective of wht cell on go on the sender query and perform the Jump )..
FYI, currently, when I do the jump, I see all the cost elements even though I select one cost element..Is it the way RRI works ?? OR am I missing out on something..
    Please let me know...
    Thanks..

For e.g, In the sender query, I see a list of Cost Elements. Now, I see one of the Cost Element ( select any one context cell) and the perform the RRI Jump.
You should only see one Costelement from where the jump was made , assuming you have same set of variables in both source and target queries and additional details in the target query if any.
Dollar Amounts may not match as time period values are not passed on to the target query.
Now , can you please let me know if in the receiver Query, do I see output only for that particular Cost Element OR all the cost Elements ( irrespective of wht cell on go on the sender query and perform the Jump )..
Appropriate jump would be from the Dollar Amount Cell  ( like 120$ in the above example ) and it depends on the variables you passon etc....primarly the requirement.
Jump may not work from the Overall Result Rows, Node Level Dollar Amounts.....
FYI, currently, when I do the jump, I see all the cost elements even though I select one cost element..Is it the way RRI works ?? OR am I missing out on something..
What are your variables in the source and target query ?

  • Unable to open the BI Query after change in ODS structure

    Dear All,
I have a query which is based on some ODS. I have added one more InfoObject to the data part of this ODS and deleted one of the existing one. Now when I try to open the existing query (so that I can include this new field) based on this ODS, it is not allowing me to go to the 'Change' mode.
Ultimately I end up closing my session.
Is there any other method to go to the 'Change' mode or else I need to design the query from the scratch again ?
    Thanks,

  • How to find out sender query by using receiver query in RRI

    Hi,
I have do some assignment settings .I know receiver query name ,but i don't know sender query name .
please suggest me how to find out sender query name .
is there any table /t-code ?
    Thanks,
    EDK.....

    Hello,
If the receiver query is web report, then goto table RSBBSQUERY and in RONAM field put the web report name.
You will get the sender query UID in the field ELTUID.
Now take this UID and goto table RSRREPDIR and put this UID in COMPUID and you will get the query name.
If the reciever query is bex query then get the UUID as above from RSRREPDIR by providin the tech name and then go to table RSBBSQUERY to get the UID of the sender query.

  • How to open the TFS query results in Excel?

    Hello Guys,
Question 1: Is there any way to export the query results from the TFS web browser?
Question 2: Is there any way to export the query results from Team Explorer 2013?
Here is the query results in TFS:
How do I export this result in excel for further analysis?
I have also connected to Team explorer 2013 and right clicked on the query, but there is no option to open the results in Excel, see below:

    Hello,
_Pls follow these guide lines for ensuring proper output in Microsoft Excel:
1.First compare the fields properties and the frames properties between the reports created with wizard and the reports created manually.
    2. Do not leave any space between two adjacent objects.
Explanation: Because any space, including a few pixels, between two adjacent objects will result in an empty cell or column in Excel output
3.Make sure that the widths of all objects are vertically consistent.
Explanation: If the objects are not exactly aligned vertically, that is, have inconsistent widths, it is likely to result in insertion of unwanted cells/columns in Excel.
    4. Pls. Make sure that the vertical elasticity of the frames and repeating frames is not fixed unless you are sure you have allocated enough space to accommodate all the records.
Explanation: If you set the Vertical Elasticity property of a frame to Fixed, the output in Excel will show only as many records as could appear on the first page of the paper output. Since Excel does not have a page concept, it is not able to overflow the remaining rows to the next page.
    5. For reliable formatting of spreadsheet output, enclose the whole layout area in a frame.
Explanation: This action prevents the possibility of parallel objects displaying in different vertical positions, one following the other.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Alex

  • Select Query in the receiver JDBC

    Hello all,
Is it Possible to use the select query in eceiver JDBC.

    Hi Srinivas,
You can either create the structure or can directly write the SQL_QUERY or| SQL_DML  statement where you will specifty the action SQL_QUERY | SQL_DML .
So you can use either XML SQL Format or Native SQL Format. Please see this help srini:

  • Variable of copied Query changes the original  Query - variable

    Team:
I have a Query "A". Then, I made a copy "B". Both Queries are the same definition, including the variables. In the Query A, there is a variable "ZWWW" that checks the date entered by the user. In the user exit I_step = 3, we check for the validity of the date entered. Unfortunately, we need to test the Query in QAS, which  we do not need to test the validity of the data. Thus, we changed the variable to be "YYYYY" on the Query B.
Unfortunately, this new variable "YYYY" somehow is reflected automatically in the original Query A. This issue is only present if the Query B is a copy of Query A. Basically, the Query A and B have different technical names and UIDs. However, they are in the background related.
The question is: how can I change the variable on Query B without affecting Query A.

    Hi Raul,
    Variables are at
    Query Filter Level
    RKF Level..which is Global
What i understand is that this Variable of Query is in the RKF - which is GLOBAL.So if we change the RKF Variable on that Multiprovider... for not just Query A... ...it will change across all the Queries not just Query A or B.
We will have to identify the RKF1 and create a copy of the RKF1 as New RKF2 and replace the old Variable with the New One YYYY.
    Hope this Clarifies.

  • Log the query of the "Execute Query Task"

    Hi,
I want to log/watch the query executed by the "Execute query Task". It's a query  with different variables, the different variables i can see in one of the debug windows and these looks OK, but the query doesn't do what's expected. So i want to see the whole query, is that possible?
Query logging on the database server isn't an option. The server is an oracle server and the dba doesn't want to change this setting.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

You could use a single variable to store your entire query, and use that in your Execute SQL task. Basically, you need to set the variable to evaluate as an expression, then build your query string in the variable. You can use this to combine your
other variables into the query, and see it as one value at runtime.
I am using SSIS 2008. I know I can do it with a variable. But I was wondering why SSIS does not allow you to log the query easily. Just for this, I will have to create a variable and a script task :(

  • Error occured when try to open the BI report from words (template builder)

    Hi,
After i LogOn into BI Publisher thru words, successful. But when choose a report to open, error returned as "Error occured. Please check the settings and try again."
My team had do various of testing, try to reinstall the BI publisher desktop, but not able solve the problems. From the forum, someone comment is due to data loaded too large, so we try to put a query which only select single record from a small database, but still same error.
then we suspect is due to the proxy setting, because once i reset to bypass the proxy, i able to open the report thru words without any error.
i found this comment from online doc :
Have set up the proxy parameters (to avoid any firewall problems with the Web Services and RSS data set reports) in the xmlpserverstart.bat file or the oc4j.cmd file as per your installation.
Modify the following line, which defines JAVA_HOME. (Observe the proxy parameters in bold.):
    •     "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" %JVMARGS% -jar -Dhttp.proxyHost= <myproxy.mycompany.com> -Dhttp.proxyPort=<Port> "%OC4J_JAR%" %CMDARGS%
Restart xmlpserver or oc4j as the case may be.
but i can't found this xmlpserverstart.bat or oc4j.cmd from server.
    Please comment.
    Thanks

    Hi All,
Iam trying to open a query in query designer  and iam getting an error like

what does it mean, in case of changes how to find new query name.

    Hi,
This is hap[pening because, you are using an older version of the SAP Front end (Probably 3.5) to open a query which was modified/created in 7.x So upgrade the front end verison on ur system. This should solve ur problem

  • Query on the af:Query - Saved Search Functionality

    Hi all,
Using Jdev 11. R2, and what I think is the latest UI shell.
Looking to tap some knowledge and to validate whether I'm heading in the right direction....... I also suppose this post relates to a broader topic on user sessions and what I think is referred to as 'state saving'.
Firstly, I have an AF:Query which I can, for the life of my tasakflow save a particular search.... I'm keen to use this functionality (especially the automatically execute option), so that each user can save their preferred search and upon form load, see their particular list, rather than a blank search form.
The issue is that once I restart the task flow the saved search does not persist!!
Now I'm guessing this relates to state saving, and that there may be a global or template setting? I can see a property on the template 'State Saving' and I have tried setting this to client - and nothing happens....
To further expand my question..... is it also possible that as a user changes their pages (through collapsing splittter and re-arranging table columns) that we can also have these selections persist?
I just can't seem to find enough resources on this, and I suspect I'm searching with the wrong keywords, as I'm not 100% certain of the correct terminology.
    Cheers,
    Simo

    Simo,
I guess you have to look for MDS or Meta data service. MDS stores changes to the ui like table layout and query state for each user in a central store (db or file).
To use MDS you must use ADF security as this gives MDS the user ID.
I can't search for more info right now as I'm not in front of my pc. Check the doc for MDS and you find more info.

  • How to Jump (Drill-through) between WebI query (also in Crystal Report)

    Hi BO experts,
I read that we can achieve drill-down in Crystal Report and WebI.
But I have requirements here to jump (like RRI or Report to Report Interface) in BEx Analyzer and to pass some values (as parameter), i need to achieve:
    1. jump between WebI queries (in WebI)
    2. jump between Crystal Report reports (in Crystal Report)
    3. jump from Crystal Report to WebI
I read that in WebI, jump can be achieved by just opening the URL of the receiver query, but we can't pass on certain values as parameter from the sender query to the receiver query (which is possible in RRI case).
Has anyone ever done it before? Please let me know how to achieve it..
    Thank you very much.

You can navigate beween report using Report Linking. This can be achieved through an Opendocument functionality.
Using Opendocument, you can call a webi report from a parent webi report and then pass parameter's as well. Wigooglth the same feature you can invoke a crystal report also from a webi report and pass values.
In crystal report also you can use Opendocument. However there are better features like sub-reports to do this.
You can google for opendocument or search in SDN to get detailed documentation of OpenDocument.
