RRM Neighbor Message/RRM Neighbor Message dBm threshold/Recommended TPC settings
From reading Cisco’s Radio Resource Management under Unified Wireless Networks (Document ID: 71113) and the following Post (https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10747596/configure-rrm-wlcs-avoid-interferences), I have a few questions which I am trying to get some clarification.
Questions
What is the default dBM an AP needs to receive/ “hear” a Neighbor Message at? Towards the beginning of the document, it states “…WLCs will add neighbors to their lists given they are heard at greater than or equal to -80 dBm and will only then remove them once their signals dip below -85 dBm.” However, towards the middle of the document, it states “the RF Group Leader will apply the TPC algorithm on a per-band, per-AP basis to adjust AP power transmit levels downward such that the third loudest neighbor AP will then be heard at a signal level of -70dBm (default value or what the configured value is) or lower and the TCP hysteresis condition is satisfied.”
When a Neighboring AP is no longer “heard” at -85 dBm or better, is the RF coming from the AP considered interference, co-channel interference if the two APs are on the same channel, Foreign Interference, or noise? I think it is co-interference but I am not sure.
What are the recommended settings for the power? Is it best practice to go with the defaults (Max 30 dBm/Min -10 dBm)? Reading the following post from Araon (https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10747596/configure-rrm-wlcs-avoid-interferences) he recommended -74dBm based upon the output from the show ap auto-rf 802.11b <Cisco AP Name>. I am open to suggestions. (Please note: I do see this AP does not “hear” three other APs at -85 dBm or better. I understand this does affect RRM.)
Thank you,
T.J.

Hello Philip,
Thanks for your valuable inputs.
Tweaking in max & min Tx power would certainly help us keep tab on upper on lower transmit powers that we want our APs to be working in.
I was looking for a solution wherein rrm is influenced such that the power is lowered approximately one step down so as to contain co-channel interference. Tweaking in 'transmit power threshold' really came in handy for me. Got the expected response from a test setup( https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/message/461855#461855 ). Will be putting it into production and sharing here the results.
Now the only concern was no having all the APs with 'transmit power threshold' changed from default. Want to keep it an hybrid environment, few with -75dBm and others with default -70dbm.
Would AP grouping/ rf profiling come in handy for me?
Thanks and Regards,
Adnan

Prime Infrastructure NCS Alarm Message: CPU: 85 crossed down threshold: 90
Dears,
We have Cisco Prime NCS Ver.2.0 running on plad. Since yesterday the alarm give us severity major message (Message: CPU: 85 crossed down threshold: 90).
Please advice what this problem and how to solve it.
Thanks,Hi Jeremy,
SNMP traps are shown in the events and alerts section of PI.
SNMP config looks fine. Can you run the SNMP debug (debug snmp packets ) .check the logs and see if the device is actually sending the TRAPS to the PI server.
Thanks-

Hei
we have some switches that are connected with our nexus switches via SFP-10GLR. all switches are ok but only one is getting warnings in the logs saying: CET: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Te1/1: Rx power high warning; Operating value: -0.9 dBm, Threshold value: -1.0 dBm.
all the SFP,s are same in alle switches.%SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION Vs SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION.
The first one is printed for the ports that are configured, but not connected/active.
You can avoid such error messages simply shutting down unused ports.
The latter indicates that there is a real threshold violation.
For more details on these error messages, check out.

Action Plan:
========
Can you please try clearing the interface counters, so that we can notice the frequency of errors.
Also I researched on the logs that we are observing on our device and have seen cases where the issue has been resolved by physically removing and reinserting transceiver.
Please refer below link for more details:

My iphone5 stopped receiving calls and text messages then a message said my sim is locked what can I do?
You can call you're carrier and have them unlock it.

When the message arrives, the message tone sound that many times. How this problem can be solved? I installed the new version, but the problem is not resolved, the future is to be taken into account in the new version of this?
I'm not sure I understand the question, is the message tone going more then once?
Turn off repeat message alert here:
settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert > never
Some people have found this does not stop the repeat miessage tone,
if you are one of those then I suggest you contact Apple:

They may not respond, but hopefully will fix in uodate if enough people complain. -
Write message to Job log with message class and message number
hi folk,
When running a background job I'm able to write a message to the job log using the statement - Message "some text..." type 'I'.
In the Job log I can see the message "some text.." with a "default" message class and message number (but in my report i don't specify any message ID) so I have no idea it comes from.
Then I try to send a message where I specify the message class/number etc...using message id 'Z1' number 000 with "some text..." In the job log I now can see the "right" message class "Z1" and the number 000, but the message is empty?
Please advice how to write a message with the message class and message number.
Best regards
LinhNgHi Linh,
How did you provide the text "Some message"? Did you hard code it or used a text element?

Immanuel. -

How can I add a new message(custom text message) to the holiday approval em
How can I add a new message(custom text message) to the holiday approval email-notification sent to the manager?
TIAThe answer is 'not very easily', unless the information you want to display is the employee's leave balances. In 12.1.3 Oracle have delivered functionality that allows you to include the leave balances in the approval notifications out-the-box, ie, without customization.
For any other information you're probably going to have to customize the standard delivered HRSSA workflow. Within this workflow, the Leave of Absence functionality uses the Notify Approver (Embedded) (HR_APPROVER_NTF) notification. The body of this notification is set to the Notify Approver (Embedded) (HR_NTF_EMBEDDED_REGION) attribute. This in turn defaults to:
JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=-&HR_EMBEDDED_REGION-&NtfId=-&#NID-
So essentially you can change the HR_APPROVER_NTF notification. The problem with changing this notification is that it's generic - it's used for all SSHR functions and not just Leave of Absence. That means you have to make other, more substantial, customizations to the workflow to ensure the changes you make only applies to LOA.
The other option is to personalize the review page (ie, the region referenced in &HR_EMBEDDED_REGION) to include whatever messages you want. But that means they'll appear on the Review page and all LOA approval notifications and that might not be what you want.
It's usually better to live with what Oracle deliver and find an alternative solution! What's the content of the message you want to include? -

CONVERTING ERROR MESSAGE TO WARNING MESSAGE
HI GURUS,
CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME IDEA HOW TO CONVERT ERROR MESSAGE TO WARNING MESSAGE IN QM MODULE.WHEN I AM POSTING STOCK FROM QUALITY TO UNRESTRICTED. BECAUSE IAM GETTING ERROR WHEN IAM POSTING STOCK GIVING ERROR TRANSFER POSTING THROUGH QUALITY ONLY. MY ERROR MESSAGE NO IS QA495. I TRIED ALL POSIBILITES. BECAUSE I AM NOT GETTING INSPECTION LOT BUT STOCK IN QUALITY. GIVE ME IDEA.
BHAKTADear BHAKTA,
it's not possible to customize every message in SAP System to warning or error.
It depends on the coding. I have found message QA495 twice in coding, both times it's hard coded in Inlcude MM07MQSS. So it's not possible in standard to change this.
How to find this information:
SE91
-> enter the message
-> button 'display'
-> select the line
-> button 'where-used list' (CRTLSHIFTF3)
-> now you get a list of all programms where the message is used
Now you can check if message type is hard coded or read in customizing.
If you really want this you have to modifiy the coding. But I would not recommed this, as hard coded errors are necessary to make sure that the standard scenarios work correctly.

Sabine -

Error message to Warning message in MIGO?
Hi,
When we are executing MIGO 411 K transaction we are getting error message 'Enter Vendor Number'. I want to supress change error message to warning message.
Because my requirement is populate vendor dynamically based on combination of Material, Plant, Storage location and Batch. I got user exit for this User-exit (EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) when click on check button.
We found a User-exit (EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) triggered when User clicks on 'CHECK' button. But since the vendor field (LIFNR) is a mandatory field in MIGO 411 K transaction, its throwing an error message 'Enter Vendor Number'. So unable to proceed further.
so i want to change error message into warning message and then i will proceed.
error message i m getting is " Enter vendor number for special stock k".
Or is there any other to populate the vendor dynamically based on Material, Plant, Storage location and Batch. please help..
thanksThis error is dynamic call so you can't make this one as warning message but why don't you try to add the search criteria based on your requirement to the field of vendor in migo.
e.g. when you do F4 or drop down you will see the list of vendor you can get from diff way.......so add one more earch criteria for your reqs here.
