Hi all,
Im working with BI 7.0 and i facing the following issue:
-When i executed RRMX transaction the excel appears and then shut down, so i cannot get into the Query designer trough this transaction.
I tried to configure Excel in the AD-INS properties, and now after i executed RRMX appears the excel with the BW toolbar but nothing happened if i click in "Open". (the macro security in excel is in medium)
Does anybody knows any solution to this?
REGARDSHi Marcos,
I've found something more. First
of all we should learn something
more of transaction RRMX_CUST (part of spro)
and about Global Settings in your Bex Analyzer.
There is an option that can override that of spro
(case 3.X).
But I've found also the option "Always launch
Analyzer vhen Excel starts".
In my BI system RRMX works fine if I choose
this option; this seems a workaround and
I'm not sure users may accept to launch always
the Analyzer.
Anyway.....

Issue with RRMX Via Enterprise Portal
Hi,
I need to start BEx Analyzer via Enterprise Portal. I was able to create a Transactional iView with the Transaction (RRMX) and linked this iview to a Role.
Used Windows GUi to Login.
I am also able to run this iView from Portal but the problem is that every time i click on the Analyzer link, it opens a GUI window in the back on the analyzer.
so if i click on this link 5 times, it opens 5 GUI window in the back and then we have to close each of the windows manually.
Is it possible to supress the GUI window that pops up in the back of Analyzer?
Thanks in Advance.
NivedaAtul,
Thank you very much for your reply.
With the option you mentioned, i was able to restrict the USER GUI Session to 1 along with the BEX Analyzer. But i do not want even this session to be visible. I only want the Business Explorer ( Only excel ) to be opened and not the Windows GUI session.
The problem is that the Transaction iView first opens a Windows GUI BW Session then Runs the Transaction RRMX, which means it will always have a GUI session opened along with the BEx Analyzer.
My requirement is have the BEx Analyzer with no GUI session.
With the property you mentioned, we could restrict the no of GUI sessions opened to 1, i:e the number of GUI sessions opened is always 1 no matter how many times to click on the Bex Analyzer link on Portal.
Number of sessions = 0 does not work.
I do not want even one GUI session opened when i click on the BEx Transactional iView.
If not possible, Is it possible to close the opened GUI session using some parameters so that i use only see the Bex Analyzer?
Hope i am clear with my requirements.

Hi:
I have configured transaction RRMX_CUST so that RRMX transaction should call Analyzer *BI7.) and not 3x. But still it brings old 3x analyzer instead of the new one.
I am not able to figure out.
I tried changing parameter RRMX_VERSION = 70, but still same problem.

Dear Experts,
We are using Net-Weaver 4.0 , BW 3.5 and Office-2007. But recently we have installed these over WINDOWS 7.
Previously it was working fine with WINDOWS - XP.
And now after installation , when I put RRMX transaction. I am getting error.
Please suggest , What shall I do ?
Thaks,
UtpalHi Utpal:
Probably you need to install a Front End Patch (FEP), with an "S" account you can download it from the SAP Marketplace.
What is the error message you get? search for related SAP Notes with details on this issue resolution. For example SAP Note 1533608 recommends installing FEP 400 of BW 3.5 Add-on of GUI 720 to solve issues with RRMX Transaction Code.
To download the file do the following.
1. Open the link https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/support
2. Click on the Tab "Software Downloads"
3. Click on the Section "Support Packages and Patches"
4. From the Menu on the left Click on "Browse our Download Catalog" option.
5. Click on the link "SAP Frontend Components"
6. Click on "BI ADDON FOR SAP GUI"
7. Click on "BW 3.5 ADDON FOR SAP GUI 7.20"
8. Click on "Win32" to display the list of available FEP for download.

Francisco Milán.

Hi,
We have just gone live with 2004s and noticing that users are continually being thrown out of the analyser and query designer with the generic 'critical error' message.
Looking at the system log I can see a number of entries with the following:
<b>Communication error CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 223</b>
Has anyone seen this before? If so how did you fix it?
any help appreciated,
MichaelYou may want to start with these
When you have problems with logging on to a BW system using a BW front-end application, first check whether the following logons are working properly.
1. Logon to BW back end with SAP GUI
2. Logon with srfctest.exe (see below)
3. Logon with BEx Browser
4. Logon with BEx Analyzer (via start menu)
5. Logon with BEx Analyzer (via SAP GUI with transaction RRMX)
This is important in order to determine whether this is a general or specific problem
For details check below-
Note 452443 - Problems logging on to BW systems
Most of the network related issues are solved by taking Basis help and support, they can trouble shoot well with their check list.
Hope it Helps

RRMX/SSO not working with Win7/GUI 7.2
Dear all,
I'm testing the useability of our BW system with new Windows 7 and SAP GUI version 7.2.
The only way of launching BEx analyzer is via RRMX or portal (using single sign-on) but this is not working. Once i trigger RRMX, Excel 2007 is opened (with Business Explorer Add-In) but when i try to open a query it opens the SAP Logon! The BEx version used is still the 3.5 (but we are in SAP BI 7.01).
Does anyone faced this problem? Do you know if there are specific settings for using SSO or RRMX with GUI 7.2/WINN 7?
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
NunoHi Guys,
I have this issue also - I have used the above gui version and BW updates but still this does not work as such!
I donu2019t have the reg key values that are mentioned above but works internally but no over direct access?
We have windows 7 units connecting via a saprouter to a message server inturn connecting them to the application box.
I have tried to create the key manually but still no joy.
If go directly to the application server all works fine!
If I go via the saprouter and then to the application server u2013 again all works fine!
the error in the log sees an IP address ind=stead of the FQDN name
The fqdn name of the saprouter and then an IP address????? However this should be a FQDN name
So the error is something like /H/mysaprouter.co.uk/H/then the IP of application server
/H/mysaprouter.co.uk/H/10.10.10.2
There are no errors in the saprouter log file and nothing that I can see via the cisco firewall???
I can telent on all portsu20263225, 3205 3005
However please also note that this is not an issue when connecting internally via the saprouter, only an issue with Direct access (TCPIPv6)!
Io any of you have any ideas why this would return an IP address instead of FQDN name via the sap router.
This was working a few week oku2026u2026but something has changed and no one know what!
I would suggest firewall issues but I do get teh above errors when trying to connect either via exel or trying to connect backwords via the tc RRMX -
Unable to access Query Designer with RRMX.

But when i try opening query designer from my logon pad with transaction RRMX, the query designer does not work.Kindly guide on the issue. You can start the BEx Query Designer using one of the following options:
● Standalone, by choosing Start ® Programs ® Business Explorer ® Query Designer.
● BEx Web Application Designer:
In the menu bar of the Web Application Designer, you have chosen Extras ® BEx Query Designer.

Hi All ,
This is the typical user perception question.
We have recently upgraded to BI 7.0 with EHP1 and started hearing complaints from user community that Excel hung up when they run TCode RRMX to excecute query .When we looked at the issue the query is taking long time and they are not seeing the query execution progress indicator bar and feel that the excel is hung .
We are on SAP GUI 710 and patch level 13.
Any suggestions or solutions duely appreciated
Thanks
MuniMuni,
Have you also upgraded your front-end add-on for BW 3.5? Patch 7 was just released a couple of weeks ago, and is supposed to improve performance of BEx Analyzer 3.5 with Excel 2007.
Unfortunately, I have installed this upgrade on my PC and have not noticed any marked improvement. However, I think I am getting an hourglass icon for the cursor while the query is running now. At least that is a visual clue for the user that something is happening.
Hope this helps...

Its better try to Download the SAP GUI once again from the service market place and see if the issue gets resolved. Some times SAP GUI installation files may corrupt and occurs these kind of problems.
In service market place -> goto Downloads -> click on Installations and Upgrades -> click on Entry By Application Group - > Installations and Upgrades" SAP Frontend Components" SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS
From this location download the ZIP files and run in ur system.

SAPBEXgetConnection doesn't return proper values when BEX is open via RRMX
had to put a lot of interactivity in some workbook based on the user profile and going far beyond the simple authorisation objects.
Following the advice of some specialists such as Peter Knoer, I used the following code to get the user connection details:
<i>Set myConnection = Run("SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXgetConnection")
With myConnection ' call the connection
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(27, 2).Value = myConnection.Client
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(28, 2).Value = myConnection.User
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(29, 2).Value = myConnection.language
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(30, 2).Value = myConnection.SystemNumber
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(31, 2).Value = myConnection.System
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(32, 2).Value = myConnection.ApplicationServer
End With</i>
Everything works fine as long as the user first launch BEX and connect directly in BEX.
This command function fails if BEX is launch from SAP EasyAccess Menu via the RRMX transaction.
Any clue why this function does not work in the case of a launch via RRMX?
I tried several alternative, is there a better Function to use to get all the user connection details in this case?
thanks for your insights on this point.Hi Peter,
why do I need to test what is the current login?
I had the request to make truly dynamic workbook based on user profile: logo, workbook label based on user language etc.
To do so, I need to pass either the user name or the system number or the language to two RFC/BAPI functions from excel. Have a look at the complete macro below:

BEx Analyzer for connection issue
Hi Everyone,
I received the following message while using RRMX transaction from SAP BI 7 system and unable to connect BI and BEx Analyzer. However, I am able to connect to BW system from BEx Analyzer when manually enter user id and password after this error. There is no issues in Dev, QA and has this issue in Preproduction system.
Verified with my colleague who have same SAP GUI 7.2, MS Excel 2003 versions and my colleague is able to conenct to BEx Analyzer successfully. Please advise.

This error happens only on Production system. On Development and Quality systems it is ok. The difference between these systems is that Production has a message server (po1bwsc.sapmi.telecomitalia.local) and a Group server defined
(PROD_P1B that leads to 4 application servers).
If I force the application server to logon to po1bwsc.sapmi.telecomitalia.local everything works well, but using the
group server I get the error above.
Furthermore I found out that:
if I add the IP address of the GWHOST (tosatti in this case, but I have also donald and alexey) in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, everything works fine.
Please notice that with SAPGui 640 there is not this problem, even without adding the above IP addresses to etc\hosts file.
How can I avoid this problem?

Start BEX via RRMX doesn't work
Hello
BW 3.5 /SAP GU 6.2
It is possible to access bex via system-> program-> BEx -> analyzer.
However transaction RRMX doesn't start BEX . There is also no error message. But the EXCEL Process starts ( seen in the Windows Task Manager) and disappears immediately.
I have also checked authorization, where everything is ok.
Please has anyone a good idea how to solve or at least some investigation ideas.
Best regards

Hello
Thanks a lot of your answer. Perhaps I didnt write all important information on this issue down.
It is a user, who is not able to start Bex via RRMX. However when I start RRMX it works perfectly and we are on the same platform.
Do you have another idea?
