Wrong Path for RRMX transaction (Bex)
Dear All,
I've just installed the SAP GUI 7.10 with Patch 09 and with BI AddOn Patch 7 for GUI 7.10
When I launch the Bex Analyser from the Windows Start Menu it works (I'm obliged to launch first the Bex 3.5 before launching the 7.0 !!! but it's not the subject).
But when I try to use the RRMX transaction, it seems that SAP is looking for the file "SAPBEX0.XLA" in the directory "C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\BW" although the file is located in the directory "C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\SAP Shared\BW".
Does anyone have an idea on how to change this path in SAP ?
Thanks in advanceHi,
There are two parameters in RS_FRONTEND_INIT :
VER_MIN_ANA : min revision which you can open BexAnalyzer
VER_ACT_ANA : actual revision which is better for opening BexAnalyser
You can find the revision level in your BexAnalyzer installation info.
My current version is 1352 for exemple.
There is a note for some problem with the flag VER_MIN_ANA : 1280620
Good luck. -
Unable to run RRMX transaction
Hi there,
We are trying to run RRMX transaction in the BI system. But we are getting 'Please install suitable Microsoft Excel' error.
1. SAP Gui version 710 patch level 11. Microsoft excel version 2010.
2. We found one SAP note 160995 and followed the steps suggested but no luck with the note.
Could you please assist where went wrong.
Regards,
Venkat.ODear Venkat,
I would suggest you to please upgrade to GUI 7.20 as the support to GUI 7.10 has ended from SAP.
You wont face this error in GUI 7.20.
Also when you have upgraded to GUI 7.20 , please make sure you have applied the below note:
Note 1435326.

Dear Experts,
We are using Net-Weaver 4.0 , BW 3.5 and Office-2007. But recently we have installed these over WINDOWS 7.
Previously it was working fine with WINDOWS - XP.
And now after installation , when I put RRMX transaction. I am getting error.
Please suggest , What shall I do ?
Thaks,
UtpalHi Utpal:
Probably you need to install a Front End Patch (FEP), with an "S" account you can download it from the SAP Marketplace.
What is the error message you get? search for related SAP Notes with details on this issue resolution. For example SAP Note 1533608 recommends installing FEP 400 of BW 3.5 Add-on of GUI 720 to solve issues with RRMX Transaction Code.
To download the file do the following.
1. Open the link https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/support
2. Click on the Tab "Software Downloads"
3. Click on the Section "Support Packages and Patches"
4. From the Menu on the left Click on "Browse our Download Catalog" option.
5. Click on the link "SAP Frontend Components"
6. Click on "BI ADDON FOR SAP GUI"
7. Click on "BW 3.5 ADDON FOR SAP GUI 7.20"
8. Click on "Win32" to display the list of available FEP for download.
Regards,
Francisco Milán.

RRMX opens a default report. How to change this setting ?????
Hi all,
If we type RRMX transaction code, it should go to BEx, but user has reported that whenever he types RRMX it opens a particular REPORT. How can we change this setting so that the default report will not be opened, PLEASE ? It seems it started after upgrading to BW 3.5.
Thanks.Rian,
Thanks for your response. I have created a TEST User Id with the User Id that has the problem. I am not getting any default report with the TEST User Id when I type RRMX, just it goes to BEx (blank) only, but not to the report.
I have followed your navigation steps (Business Explorer Tab/Setting/ New Workbook on embed) with TEST User Id and 'is based on permanent template' is checked' under 'New Workbook on embed', but not 'is empty'.
I will go to the User's desk tomorrow and check the BEx settings on his PC.
Thanks. -

Its better try to Download the SAP GUI once again from the service market place and see if the issue gets resolved. Some times SAP GUI installation files may corrupt and occurs these kind of problems.
In service market place -> goto Downloads -> click on Installations and Upgrades -> click on Entry By Application Group - > Installations and Upgrades" SAP Frontend Components" SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS
From this location download the ZIP files and run in ur system.

SAPBEXgetConnection doesn't return proper values when BEX is open via RRMX
had to put a lot of interactivity in some workbook based on the user profile and going far beyond the simple authorisation objects.
Following the advice of some specialists such as Peter Knoer, I used the following code to get the user connection details:
<i>Set myConnection = Run("SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXgetConnection")
With myConnection ' call the connection
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(27, 2).Value = myConnection.Client
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(28, 2).Value = myConnection.User
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(29, 2).Value = myConnection.language
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(30, 2).Value = myConnection.SystemNumber
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(31, 2).Value = myConnection.System
Sheets("BAPI").Cells(32, 2).Value = myConnection.ApplicationServer
End With</i>
Everything works fine as long as the user first launch BEX and connect directly in BEX.
This command function fails if BEX is launch from SAP EasyAccess Menu via the RRMX transaction.
Any clue why this function does not work in the case of a launch via RRMX?
I tried several alternative, is there a better Function to use to get all the user connection details in this case?
thanks for your insights on this point.Hi Peter,
why do I need to test what is the current login?
I had the request to make truly dynamic workbook based on user profile: logo, workbook label based on user language etc.
To do so, I need to pass either the user name or the system number or the language to two RFC/BAPI functions from excel. Have a look at the complete macro below:

But as I said the SAPBEXgetConnection does not behave the same way if login is done directly done in BEX or via RRMX. Any Clue? -
Hi Guys.,
I have jsut installed SAP Business Explorer in SAP BW Dev server, but i can only be able to login into BEX by going directly START->Programs->Business Explorer. But i can't be able to login into BW BEX through 'RRMX' Transaction.
It is showing the error message like:
A critical program error occurred.
The program has to close.
Please refer to the trace for further information.
Can anybody tell me the solution how to solve this problem?
Regards.,
Balaji K. ReddyHi Balaji,
You have said you have installed BW server. I think you need to update ur SAP GUI (Frontend) to include and install BW related components while installing ur SAP GUI. Pleas check this. Also you need to check Microsoft Excel is installed in your workstation. I think this should resolve your problem

Hi:
I have configured transaction RRMX_CUST so that RRMX transaction should call Analyzer *BI7.) and not 3x. But still it brings old 3x analyzer instead of the new one.
I am not able to figure out.

Add BW report that open in RRMX
Hi Experts,
I have created a new query Q.
I am adding it to a role X.
Now, i go to PFCG transaction, display the role in change mode.
Goto Menu tab. then add the report.
Now, there are four option i get to add a report.
I want to add a BW report. So, i click on "BW report" option then it asks for report id.
I give the report id (the technical name of the query).
It saves as an RRMX transaction report.
Now when i execute the report Excel opens up. But the query does not open.
Is there a setting i missed. Please reply.
Regards,
Suraj S NairYou are correct Prasad,
Also i would add few points,
1) Not only transport roles but also the workbook created.
2) also remember, when saving the workbook, in the properties of the workbook, under interaction tab,
add your suitable settings.
I had this problem, i saved the workbook, then added to the roles but the workbook did not allow me to select values or drill down. Because, the setting under the hierarchies tab were not set.
Thanks all of you.

Hi all,
Im working with BI 7.0 and i facing the following issue:
-When i executed RRMX transaction the excel appears and then shut down, so i cannot get into the Query designer trough this transaction.
I tried to configure Excel in the AD-INS properties, and now after i executed RRMX appears the excel with the BW toolbar but nothing happened if i click in "Open". (the macro security in excel is in medium)
Does anybody knows any solution to this?
REGARDSHi Marcos,
I've found something more. First
of all we should learn something
more of transaction RRMX_CUST (part of spro)
and about Global Settings in your Bex Analyzer.
There is an option that can override that of spro
(case 3.X).
But I've found also the option "Always launch
Analyzer vhen Excel starts".
In my BI system RRMX works fine if I choose
this option; this seems a workaround and
I'm not sure users may accept to launch always
the Analyzer.
Anyway.....

How to prevent a portal user from using the BEx Analyzer ?
Hi,
we have different type of users : most users may use the portal as well
as the analyzer ;
we have one special user with extended authorizations : this user
should use the portal , where he has a limited set of queries to run
with hardcoded filters ==> this user should not be able to use the
analyzer however, since he then would be able to call all other queries
by using the find function ;
how can we make sure this user cannot use the analyzer , using SAP
authorizations ?
best regards,
Erwin Van Giel.Hi,
if I remove the complete S_RFC authorization for the user then the BEx Analyzer cannot connect anymore to the BW system, but neither can the user run reports from the portal : it needs the S_RFC with 'SYST'.
If I only remove the RRMX from the S_TCODE and from the S_RFC, it does not prevent the user from starting the BEx Analyzer and connecting to the BW system. It only stops the user if he would start the RRMX transaction from within an SAPGUI session.
Perhaps there should be a value in the S_RFC that allows connections from the portal but not from the BEx Analyzer .... ?
so not solved yet ....
best regards,
Erwin. -
Dear All,
When I try to run the BeX Analyzer, either from Start->Business Explorer->Analyzer or from RRMX transaction,
I can't open any queries/workbooks and I see all the icon in German.
The other components (Query Designer, Report Desinger) and the BeX 3.x as well, instead, work properly.
I have the following environment:

Hello,
I have installed SAP GUI 7.10 and everything is working fine, but the bex analyzer. The problem is that I can see the Toolbox but when Im clicking on the icons of the toolbox it does not work at all, it does not execute anything, so i can not open or edit queries and so on. I have tried to install the last patches (bw 11 and 12), but I can not, I got a message that the patches already exist.
I would like to know what should I install for making it works..hopefully someone could help because I have tried almost everything and I dont know what is the problem.
Thanks in advanced,
LuisHi,
I do not mean it, i do not need to launch the correct version of the analyzer from the bw system via rrmx transaction. My problem is that wehn i launch the analyzer via windows like this:
start -> Business explorer -> Analyzer
I can not use the functionalities of the analyzer, they are inactive. The point is: Is it something related with the SAP GUI installion? Have something to do with excel? Or with the windows service pack??
I have installed in my computer the following:
- SAP GUI 7.10
-Windows service pack 2
- Microsoft office 2003.
Thanks and Regards,
Luis
