RSA1 Data source has old system entry even after BDLS

Hi Experts,
Our BW system is on SAP_BW 701. Recently Our ECC system got replaced by a new upgraded system. So I ran BDLS from old system to new system. It went successfully and data sources were active.
Later we found there is one data source that had two entires. One with old logical system and one with new logical system.Could anyone please advise how I can find why old logical system name entry still appears there even after BDLS.

We checked that BDLS run has been fine and there were no errors or warnings. Also all the data sources ahve a soirce system as the new logical system name. But for many data sources; old logical system name's entry is still there. Old system is now not active but we are not getting how we got the old logical system names entries as well alon with new ones. When we try to manually delete those data source entries by right clicking on that; it gives an 'X Fatal error' and does not delete. Looks like its not getting deleted because the old logical system name is not active now. Please advise how can we get rid of these data source entries along with old logical system name and we do not want to re run BDLS.

On the MDW Disk Usage Collection Set report, I get the following error when I click on a database hyperlink.
A data source has not been supplied for the data source DS_TraceEvents
SQL profiler shows the following SQL statements are executed (I've replaced the database name with databaseX)

Database 'databaseX' does not exist. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.
why is the report looking for the database on my server?

Environment: MDW (Management Data Warehouse) on SQL 2008 R2

Hi Jag,
Based on my test, while this database is offline, we will encounter this issue. This is because that while we click the certain database in “Disk Usage Collection
Set” report, it will query some information with that certain database. If this database is offline, we will not access this database to acquire related information and generates this error.
Therefore I recommend that you check the status of this database by using this system view:
sys.databases. If it is not online, please execute
the following statements in a new window to make this database to be online:
USE master
GO
ALTER DATABASE <database name> SET ONLINE
GO

How do I install all my old programs and data from an old system folder after I have reinstalled the same OSX system after a crash?

The system is OSX10.5.8 Leopard on a 2009 imac. A new system was installed from the installation disks and the original system saved to a folder.
I need to use my Adobe programs, rescue my email, i-tunes and iphoto data. The disk utility indicates that my Time Machine back-up disk is damaged and I don't want to take a risk of having Time Machine erase my hard drive and try to reinstall the exact system existing at the time of the crash. There was over 650 gb of stored files that I was copying and removing from the drive at the time it crashed. The total size of the original system file is still about 650 Gb.
I would prefer to go back in Time Machine and only rescue the programs as most of the files have been copied to external hard drives, but I can't access the back-up hard drive from the new version of the Time Machine. Or by I don't want the Time Mchine to start copying the new operating system which would include all the data in the old system file. Time Machine was working fine at the time of the crash.

No, the disk was backed up with time machine a few hours prior to the crash. I was unable to open the computer when I tried to restart it- got a grey screen with the spinning disk- after a few minutes the screen would go black and would reboot continuously, but not load any images or programs. I started the computer from the 10.5.4 installation disks and checked both the time machine external hard drive and the Imac internal drive with the disk utilities. Both showed as damaged --the internal drive and permissions were repaired, but the external drive (time machine back-up) was damaged and not repairable by disk utilities. I don't believe that the external drive for Time Machine was connected to the computer at the time of the crash as I was copying files to a different hard drive drive. And I was not having any problems with the TM back-up drive prior to the crash.
I accessed the Imac internal disk by firewire (as a target disk) and copied as many data files as I had room for on my external hard drives available. And I deleted quite a few files from the imac internal drive (mostly just jpegs, duplicate tifs, etc--nothing that was used by i-photos, i-tunes or the Mail program).
Then I installed a new OSX10.5.4 system from the installation disk and the old system was moved to a folder on the hard drive. I previousy had had the option to reinstall the complete system from Time Machine when I connected that drive and booted with the installation disks with the C key depressed. But it didn't seem like a good option because I was unsure of the condition of that external disk and whether it would be able to reinstall my data correctly, once it had erased my internal hard drive.
I'm considering buying some new external hard drives and backing up the present system to time Machine (so I'll still have my old data in the old system folder). And then I would try using the old Time Machine back-up to try to reinstall the sytem previous to the crash. That back-up would reinstall about 700gb of data and operating software and programs which sounds like a lengthy back-up. Since I have never used Time Machine to do a full reinstallation (I've only used it for individual files), I'm reluctant to do anything rash.
I'm a professional designer (with a deadline) but I can still use my Illustrator and Photoshop by opening them from the old system folder and saving the files to an external drive. So it's not neccessary to do anything hasty except to delete some of the excess art and document files that were causing the computer to run slowly and the Adobe programs to crash when I tried to save my work. I have quite a few books on tape in the i-tumes folder which is probably talking up tons of space but I don't where the i-tunes files live.

Re-replicate data source in QAS system doesn't work

I've transported extract. structures from DEV ECC to QAS ECC and done data source replications on BI side.
After that I done some changes (added several fields) on extraction structure CUSTOMER_ATTR on ECC side in dev env. and transported it to QAS ECC. Then I replicate CUSTOMER_ATTR on BI QAS nothing happens. It remains with the same field list.
My QAS system is read-only. How can I re-replicate this CUSTOMER_ATTR to get new added fields?

Try to collect again and retransport and replicate.
Check at RSA3 in QA system, now fields are visible or not.

Can you please specify more, what generation and is it wifi or wifi and cellular?
The best thing to do with all ipad's is try ro set it back to factory setting, go into itunes, open the screen that displays your ipad and press, reset r factory settings or something like that.
Remember to make a backup first! Otherwise you will lose all your files.

Error while Replicating the Data Source in Quality System....

I have created a generic data source in R/3 Dev system and I replicated the data source to BW DEV system. Everything is fine in DEV system.
I have transported the Data Source to R/3 Quality System. And transported the related objects in BW DEV system to BW QUALITY system.
Now I am getting the error as follows :
BW QUA System --> RSA1 --> Source System --> Data source Overview --> Sales & Distribution --> _REPLICATE_
*DATASOURCE*.( clicked )
Its moving to another screen (R/3 QUALITY) , but it is coming as a LOGIN screen. Its askong for the USER name and Password. And when I click on BACK button , its givin following pop-up
RFC connection to source system LOGSYS is damaged ==> no Metadata upload
What could be the issue ?? Please suggest.

Data import from old system to new system, key by raw16 column

now, I have a new system, the system design is to use raw(16) column as key column in all database tables.
of course, when new system goes live (in production), all new transaction records are written to new system database.
when the new system inserts new records, it handles itself to avoid conflicts by value of the raw(16) key column
I now face this issue:
I need to import data from old system to new system, I use sys_guid() to fill up the raw(16) column in new system database.
how can I avoid the conflict from value of raw(16) column between old system data and new system database data?
the sql I write is very simple:
insert into new_sys_table_a (key_column_raw_16, ..., ... )
select sys_guid(), old_sys_col_a, old_sys_col_b

Data source not shown in active state after replicating from source system

Hi Gurus,
I have activated the datasou 0CO_PC_ACT_05 in R/3 system form RSA5 and replicated the same in BW system. After replication when i try to activate the datasource by instaling the business content.It is not getting installed.
The datasource is already present in the BW system in the modified version, do we need to install the business content to bring the datasource to active state.
Please help.

if its in 3.x then first you need to install business content info source(0CO_PC_ACT_05)
later you can assign your ecc data source to info source and source system. in this process transfer rules and communication structures will comes into picture.
you can use program to activate data source - RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
You want use in 3.x version only?
if you have 7.x version bw, better to go with 7.x data flow.

Since your are using process order, I would like to know whether you are using process management function or not.
(Especially your are following GMP scenario ? This guide line is basically used pharmaceutical industry.
If you work with GMP scenario, before your are archiving your process order, you need to create electronic batch creation and archiving.
Then you can archive your process order and delete it completely from your system.
You can check whether your are using GMP scenario or not in your process order type.
(T-CD COR4).
If you are not. All you need to do is set deletion flag and deletion indicator to your process order and then archive your process order (you can use program PRARCHP1) by using archiving object PR_ORDER (you can call this object from t-cd sara or COAC).

Creating Data Source from MSsql system

I have created a connection between mssql server and my bi system, connection check is ok, when i create a data source and enter a table name in the db, from application server, system does not provide "proposal data" for given table.
When itry to add the column names in db, system deletes the names in the table.
Anything i am missing? Thanks

also when i try to F4 on table field on extraction tab, it gives me error message RSDS_ACCESS034 that is table names ar invalid in db, however it is not.

Procedure
Table/view names that contain invalid characters such as @ # $ % are not supported. Furthermore, a maximum of 30 characters is allowed in table names. Lowercase characters are not supported.
If the name of the table/view you selected is not supported, create a new valid name for the table/view.

SSRS Active Directory Data Source LastLogonTimeStamp returns "System._ComObject"

I am working in Report Builder and I have created a Data Source Connection to my Active Directory. I want to get LastLogonTimeStamp from my AD computer objects but when i run the query i get "System._ComObject" instead of a date. All the other
fields return data.
here is my code:

Eventually i would like a query that returns a count of Computer objects where LastLogonTimeStamp is older than 30 days.
I have researched this and found that the LastLogonTimeStamp is a IADsLargeInteger
Value and not an actual date. How can i display this as a date is SSRS Report Builder

The lastLogon and lastLogonTimestamp LDAP timestamps attributes are returned in int64 format (also called Windows NT time format) and the timestamp is the number of 100-nanoseconds intervals (1 nanosecond = one billionth of a second) since Jan 1, 1601 UTC.
So, we cannot tell the exact date and time directly. To convert the Windows NT time format value to human readable date value, you can use the following query:
SELECT ADsPath, cn ,objectCategory,name, DATEADD(Minute,(lastLogonTimeStamp/ 600000000) + DATEDIFF(Minute,GetUTCDate(),GetDate()),CAST('1/1/1601' AS DATETIME2))

Data Source security settings are revert back after correct it !! (SCCM Reporting Services Point)

I have a strange situation here: SCCM 2012 SP1 and all components are OK and running smoothly BUT all reports report the error:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot impersonate user for data source 'DataSource2'. (rsErrorImpersonatingUser)
Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct. (rsLogonFailed)
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I correct the password and click test connection and it is successful ...few seconds the setting revert back and if I change the settings totally it reverts back to as if something prevent it from change !!
the strange thing that I tried to remove the reporting services point from the site server and the reports worked well and the setting not change
what make the settings of the data source created by sccm 2012 reporting services point revert back preventing the report from running
by the way all authentication and permissions are given to the account that running reports and connects to the database

I am also experiencing this issue. I have tried modifying the Data Source credentials directly from the data source configuration on our SSRS web site. I have also tried changing it from the CM12 Console under the Reporting services
point, specifically the Reporting Services Point Account. No matter how many times I change it, it will revert back to an account we don't want it conifigured for any longer.
Mucking around in the registry, I found the following keys that seem to reference the configuration:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP\Datasource
It appears as though the Datasource key contains the configuration under two String Values:
Reserved 1 = User name
Reserved 2 = guessing encrypted hash of password
Doesn't seem like it is even an option to change the configuration here, but at least this is some more info.
Any help on this would be great... until then, I will keep digging.

Data Transfer rate has shot upto 10 times after upgrade to 7.2.0.103 today.
Where it used to be ~350Kbps upload and ~500Kbps download for a three-member video conference, it is now ~2.5Mbps upload and ~3.5 Mbps download for the same three-member video conference.
Is there a way to switch back to the previous version?
Please help!!

Sadly, neither of these posts provide any answers (as of 9/4/09). It seems there's a problem with some cameras and iPhoto and Snow Leopard. The only helpful advice was to use a USB card reader which doesn't make sense in my case since the EX-S500 has it's own dock specifically for transferring pictures. Oh well, I guess I'll wait and see if Apple fixes this in 10.6.1.
