RSA5 & RSA6

Hi,
I am extracting data from the following tables:
BSEG,BKPF,COEP,MBEW and EINA. I have been told to create a VIEW etc. for this inorder to take the fields in BI.
Can i use the data sources in RSA5 to take all the required data in BI?
or do I have to create a VIEW etc.?

hi,
using the business content extractors is the best option, but the data source in the business content is defined for pull data from different tables of R/3.
make sure before customizing it.
views can be used for cross applications and you need to define all the properties of data sources.

Hi Ratish,
See the following flow....
- Go to T-CODE RSA5, select your datasource, which we want to extract the data.
- Go to the T-CODE LBWE (Customizing LO-COCKPIT), deactivate your datasource first by clicking activate.
- Maintain your datasource means move what ever the fields we want from R/3 to BW those can be move from COMMUNICATION STRUCTURE to EXTRACT STRUCTURE when ever we are maintaining your datasource.
- Select your datasource (2LIS_11_VAHDR) here select the fields we want otherwise hide those fields and click on SAVE.
- Select update mode like serialized v3, unserialized v3, direct or queue.
- Activate your datasource by clicking inactive.
- Go to SBIW in order to load the data to a setup tables.
- Give name of the run, change date and time, and check the check box blocks all orders and then click on execute button. CONTINUE
- Go to BW side and replicate your datasource, assign transfer rules, create data target, create update rules, create infopackage and schedule your InfoPackage.

Datasources in RSA5 & RSA6

RSA5 & RSA6
RSA5 is the place where are the Business Content (SAP Delivered) Data sources are available
RSA6 is the Place where all the Activated Business Content, Enhanced & Generic Data Sources are available
My understanding is If we Install and Activate a Business Content data sources then it will be available in RSA6u2026..
I had a data source in RSA6 which is enhanced to include ZZ fieldsu2026
But when I check the same data source in RSA5 there also I can see the ZZ fields in the extract structure of the Data source
Why is it appearing in RSA6 as well

So if i enhance the delivery content data source after activation in RSA6.....
The Changes (Enhancement) made to the extract structure in RSA6 will be repliacted to the content version (rsa5) as well
But in our system when i checked the enhanced content version data source for a particular ZZ field in extract structure
The settings in Data source Selection option is checked and HIDE option is unchecked
But when i check the same data source in RSA5 the HIDE option is checked
and also
What happens if i reinstall/reactivate the data source in RSA5 again.....
As the extractstructure is already enhanced with ZZ fields my newly installed Datasource (rsa6) will avaliable with ZZ fields or
SAp Delivered content will be installed

In LO , reg usage of both the tcodes iam confused..
A/c to my understanding -- we use rsa6 to trensfer the datasources and rsa5 to check whether the ds is transffred r not ..

RSA5 --> To Install Data Sourcess from Bussiness Content
In this step, you transfer and activate the DataSources delivered by SAP as well as partner DataSources delivered in your own namespace where applicable.
RSA6 -->> Sub sequent process or Postprocessing of DataSources.
In this section, you find out how to subsequently process DataSources or application component hierarchies.
To adjust existing DataSources to your requirements, you edit them in this step and transport them from a test system into a productive system.
You can also use this procedure to post-process the application component hierarchy.

How to see data in R/3

Hi
i am unable to see data in R/3. i don't have authorization of RSA3,RSO2,RSA5,RSA6.In my case data is coming through R/3 in BW and there is some problem with data in R/3 so i want to see data in R/3 to findout the problem. I have name of the datasource '2LIS_02_SCL' so is there anyway by which i can see data in R/3.

Amit,
If you dont have authorization for RSA3, then contact your administrator to get the authorizations or else if you have authorizations for either SE11 or SE16 then just check out the tables of that datasource and then you can find whether the data is available or not.

Error while using Extractors in BODS

Hi All,
1.Our version is BODS 4.0 & ECC 6.0 EHP5.
2. We can able to import extractor from SAP system.
3.Error while running the extractor job in BODS, Please see the error below.
Extractor returned error: <E: MESSAGE - Job ODQR_20140806_121712_000014_C could not be scheduled. See the system log for
details.. MESSAGE_V1 - ODQR_20140806_121712_000014_C.>.
4. I checked running RSA3 transaction, there we can able to see the data. Aslo tested by using ABAP program, the result was Maximum waiting time of 7.200 seconds exceeded.

Its standard extractor - 0CUSTOMER_ATTR
I can able to see the data in RSA3 but i don't know how to check in RSA5/RSA6 whether its enabled or not.
I checked in ROOSATTR table that extractor is available.

IN BI 7.0 , Iam not getting the datasources

I am finding specific problem, if any of you gone through this problem please guide me
i am new to Bi 7.0, recently we have installed ECC 6 with BI 7.0,
In rsa1 when i am checking the SS( source sys) there is only one self SS is there and not finding any other SS ,s like R/3 , FC,DB,..
When i am trying to create new SS for R/3, in status " no entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available'.
with the existing SS i replicated the DS(Datasources) but i unable to find any of the DS what is the problem, all steps related to R/3 is performed like RSA5 .RSA6 and also checked for RSA3 - every thong was OK
Please help me , early reply is appreciable

Hi Ram,
Even though u've installed ECC and BI u've build a connection between them inorder to move data from ECC to BI 7.0 through RFC after giving the RFC then u need to create a SS in BI 7.0 sytem for R/3 for doing all these things u need to get SAP_ALL authorization.
First follow the steps to given by our frnd in the below answer to create RFC connection.
then got to RSA1 and create a SS by assigning the respective logical system names and passwords then after creating this SS u should select htis SS and replicate ur datasources..........

User roles

I need some information on user profiles. Actually my client will not allow SAP BWALL, but we need some roles to do the activity
1.Creation of custom datasources and loading the data in to the infocube.
2. Generating the BEX reports and reports should be publish in Web
To do this activity what roles need to be required . In off shore we don't have SAP Basis , all the basis people are in the client side we don't have direct connectivity to contact
Please suggest some thoughts on this it will help me alot

Datasource: Rsa5->RSA6
BI Side:
Rsa1->BI Content->Select Datasource->Installation->Replicating/Activating the DS
And same procedure for Infoprovider too.
Please analyze closely about the procedure, some where you are missing something.

Finding data in a datasource/ Business Content Query

Hello,
can you help me with this one -- background to this problem is shown below:
Question:
1.
No data was found in my infocube so I went o R3 to see if the datasource had any data in it by running rsa3 but found no datasource 2LIS_02_S012, although rsa5 shows that it exists. What could be happening?
2.
Also, how do I see the queries which come with the InfoCube? When I go into BEx, I see the dimensions to create my own queries, but where are the ones which comes with the Business content for me to use?
Background to Questions----
I was experimenting with an MM InfoCube 0PUR_C01, and my research indicated that the datasource which supplies this this infocube with data is 2LIS_02_S012. The notes on this datasource indicates it could be extracted as a standard extraction or LO. I did standard, rsa5, rsa6, etc...replicated in BW, etc.
I later created and InfoCube zpur_c01 and copied from 0pur_co1, etc. ...then later created and infopackage and loaded data into the InfoCube for the purposes of reporting.

To answer your first question.
- The datasource 2lis_02_s012 that you have seen in rsa5 is in the delivered version you need to transfer this into the active version. Select the datasource in rsa5 and click the transfer datasource button. After you have done this you will see the datasource in rsa6.
Also since this datasource is a Logistics Info Structure the LIS reporting should have been activated and in use.
For your second question
- If you have already identified a standard business content query that you want to use through the metadata repository, you can activate the report through the business content tab in rsa1.

Data source application hier in EC6

Hi all;
Just had new box for BI 7 and EC6, is there a good document to follow some system configuration ? I went to RSA5/RSA6; but the all the data source are under the following manner:
New_Hier_Root > NODENOTCONNECTED (Unassigned nodes)
then under that node I have all the list of the datasorce and they are not even complete in RSA5.
How do I set this up? I went to tcode: SBIW > Business content datasource > transfer Application component hier but I at the end I get an errors 'Changes can not be made, display user only'. Could someone give how to get this business content app. comp. hier and datasource under them into RSA5 and RSA6. OR this does not need in BI 7?

The procedure that you mentioned is correct for both ECC and BI. The message you get 'Changes can not be made, display user only', is due to reason that your client is closed from changes. You need to coordinate with the Basis folks to open the client for you. Tcode is SCC4.
If you want to the same procedure in source system, depending on the set up you have in your client settings in ECC, you would need to do the "Transfer Application component hier" in the Golden client.
Hope this helps. This should be sufficient. However, if you need further explaination, please give more details on the client set up.

BW 7.0 and SAP 3.1h

We are implementing BI 7.0 and we need to get data from other ERP 3.1h system, so in that system (3.1h) we can´t see the transsaction RSA5, RSA6, RSA3 and LBW.
We setup the BW Add´ons Cd 51005918 on 3.1h, but we can´t see the transaction RSA6 and we don´t the way to active the extractors without RSA6 transaction.

Migration of 7.0 Extractor to 3.x

Hi All,
I have an extractor which i replicated in 7.0 and created transformations and all, now i want to convert it to a 3.x DS without deleting the transformations and all. Is it possible ?

While migrating the data source from 3.5 to 7.0, it will ask to migrate WITH EXPORT or WITHOUT EXPORT.
By using WITH EXPORT option we can revert back the data source from 7.0 to 3.5
(U can use tcode RSDS
Enter datasource and sources system and
from menu Datasource -> Restore 3.X datasorce)
By using WITHOUT EXPORT option we cannot get it back to 3.5
If you had migrated the data source by WITHOUT EXPORT option then its not possible to get back in 3.5.
(in that case first u should delete 7.0 datasource, then u have to reinstall 3.x datasource from source system (RSA5/RSA6) and replicate to BW)

Missing datasources when installing Business Content

Hi All
We have a requirement for a number of SBC infoproviders (BI7/ECC6) which are new to us.
The majority we have installed successfully but we are having problems with 0SLL_C01 / C02 and C03 which relate to Customs and 0BVTSD02 which is a Telephones Sales Acitivity DSO from the Beverage Industries area.
We have 'successfully' installed all the data flows down to the infosource level but none of the datasources were installed.
On re-checking in our source system RSA5/RSA6 we realised there were no datasources available for these infosources.
How do you add business content datasources to your source system so they are available? or have we missed a process?

Hi Jerry,
The Datasource you are talking about is related to release of SAP GTS 3.0 pack.
So please check with you basis team whether they have installed this plug-in in your source system.
If these release /plug-in are not installed in your sourcce system you wont be able to finf it in the RSA5/RSA6.
