RSA7 and qRFC

Hi All,
What is the relationship between RSA7 and the qRFC monitor (Transaction SMQ1,SMQ2)?  Any one explain in detail?
Regards,
Krishna.

Hi dear !
Look at OSS Note 380078 'FAQ BW delta queue (RSA7) Questions and answers':
"Question 12:
What is the relationship between RSA7 and the qRFC monitor (Transaction SMQ1)?
Answer:
The qRFC monitor basically displays the same data as RSA7. The internal queue name must be used for selection on the initial screen of the qRFC monitor. This is made up of the prefix 'BW, the client and the short name of the DataSource. For DataSources whose name is shorter than 20 characters, the short name corresponds to the name of the DataSource.
For DataSources whose name is longer than 19 characters (for delta-capable DataSources only possible as of PlugIn 2001.1) the short name is assigned in Table ROOSSHORTN.
In the qRFC monitor you cannot distinguish between repeatable and new LUWs. Moreover, the data of a LUW is displayed in an unstructured manner there."
Hope it helps!

Can somebody please tell me what is the relation between SMQ1 , RSA7 and how this delta system works , are these transactions only for the LO extractions. I have already scanned SDN but am not clear , I am clear that all values entered by  user will come in RSA7.

  • RSA7 and LBWQ

    Hi,
I have a basic doubt regarding RSA7 and LBWQ like
    1) Where do they exist?
    2) What are they? and
    3) What are the similarities / differences or dependencies on each other.
Can anybody explain this to me?
I would greatly appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    AB

    Hi Abhishek Kumar
The major difference is RSA7 is holding all the LUW s
like LO,GENERIC and every thing wher as LBWQ consits of
only LO extractions related Qs before coming to the RSA7
    <u><b>1) Where do they exist?</b></u>
    <b>RSA7:</b>
It exists in bothe R/3 as well as BW just have look @ the following URL
basically the data before coming to the BW it lies in this Que in the R/3 system
    <u><b><a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/72/0b044017355c0ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">RSA 7</a></b></u>
    <u><b>LBWQ</b></u>
Its basically a extarction que for LO applications once the documents posting is
done initial they come and sit @ this Q . Basically it shows the QRFC out
BOUND Q and in this u can find out the no of LUWs ..

  • Urgent(Issue in RSA7 and SMQ1)

We have two data sources 0CRM_OPPT_H and 0CRM_OPPT_I are in RSA7 and
we deleted queues manually for these data source in SMQ1. Whenever we
dochanges to records related to these data sources that changes we can
able to see in RSA3 and Data base tables but there is no change in
number of records in RSA7 and no Queue created automatically in SMQ1.
We reinitialized the data source and scheduled it. We can able to
see records when we do Init scheduling and zero records for Delta
scheduling even after we did some changes in CRM side records. Delta is
not picking up in BI side and we are not able to see that changes in
RSA7 and also SMQ1 for these data sources in CRM side.
We are testing this issue in QA and DEV which are SP14 upgrade
systems. We tested in staging which is SP9 system; here I deleted
Queues related to these data sources (0CRM_OPPT_H and 0CRM_OPPT_I) in
SMQ1 and automatically the data sources deleted in RSA7. We
reinitialized the data source and scheduled it. We did some changes to
records related to these data sources and we can see the entries in
    RSA7 and SMQ1.

Whenever you make a change in a Delta Datasource, after you reactivated and replicated in BW, the only way to reflect the changes in the queue is to reinitialize it.
If you're planning to reinitialize, it doesn't have any impact if you delete the specific queue in RSA7... However, it's always a good practice to have those queues emptied before making any changes so you don't leave behind records with errors. But that has to be done before the changes.
    Hope it helps.

    Luis

  • Difference between TRFC and QRFC

    Dear all,
i understand that TRFC functions as EO and QRFC functions as EOIO.
but can anyone of u pls make me understand there significance with a practical example :
    1. in terms of XI
    2. without XI when we say that one R3 is connected to other with say TRFC or QRFC
    pl help

    Hi! Tarang,
I just adding few points in this forum...Actually your question and some of the answers given are different .Some of them are deviating the topic.
According to my knowledge and as per SAP documentations also I am adding these points. Correct me if I am wrong.
At first QRFC , TRFC are different from the BE, EO and EOIO because trfc are message protocols and BE , EO and EOIO are nothing but Quality of Services (QOS).
You can check this in the below URL::
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/0d/5ab43b274a960de10000000a114084/frameset.htm
QOS is one of the property of TRFC's.
    1) See Got o SMQ1 an SMQ2 what you will found:: ?
QRFC Monitor Outbound Queue and QRFC Monitor Inbound Queue. both Queues QRFC s common.ok its a simple thing.
    2) Also lets take IDOC Adapter for IDOC whether it may be File to IDOC or IDOC to File Scenario where you will monitor the IDOC in SM58 also right ? why because this TRFC's are mainly for communicating with one SAP system to another SAP System. IDOC is mainly sending data via TRFC ports. That is why you ill monitor the IDOC if data doesn't reached means in Transaction COde:: SM58.
    3) QRFC Outbound and QRFC Inbound is mainly for communicating with SAP System and Non SAP Systems. Okay you can get this information in the below further explination and link.
Note::qRFC communication is an extended form of tRFC communication. It adds a serialization concept to the transactional concept of tRFC.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/3b/befa40badbf46fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Some applications use qRFC with outbound queue to improve system performance and not for serialization. If this is the case, you can switch automatically from the qRFC LUW with outbound queue to the tRFC LUW to avoid a hanging queue if a SYSTEM_FAILURE occurs
Note:: To cancel a background job if tRFC errors occur use program RSARFCEX to restart tRFC.
First What is the purpose of RFC:: ?All types of applications are instructed to communicate with other applications. This communication may take place within an SAP system, with another SAP system, or with an application from a remote external system. An interface that can be used for dealing with this task is the Remote Function Call (RFC).  RFCs can be used to start applications in remote systems, and to execute particular functions.
There are 3 types of communications::
Communication within an SAP system or with a remote system can take place using Remote Function Call (RFC). This enables the following scenarios:
    ·      a)  Communication between two independent SAP systems
           b)  Communication between a calling SAP system and an external receiving system
           c)  Communication between a calling external SAP system and an SAP system as the receiving
                system
Features of the Three Communication TypesTo help you decide which communication types you need to implement according to your system landscape and your requirements, the advantages of the three types of communication are explained below:
    ... 1)      tRFC
Suitable only for independent function module calls; the sequence of the calls is not preserved
    ·   2)   qRFC with outbound queue
Function modules in a queue are guaranteed to be processed only once and in sequence (serialization). Also suitable for communication with non-SAP servers.
    ·   3)     qRFC with inbound queue
The function modules created in the outbound queue are transferred from the outbound queue to the inbound queue; the sequence of the function modules is preserved. An inbound scheduler processes the inbound queues in accordance with the specified resources. Both the client and the server system must be SAP systems. One work process is used for each inbound queue.

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/e7/555e3c0f51a830e10000000a114084/content.htm
    XI point of View...
Basically Once the TRFC or QRFC is funtion is over XI will place the Message into the Adapter engine queues based on the Comminication channel configuration.
Suppose if it is and EO then XI ill place the message in any  Queue based on the free and priority and if configuration is done as per EOIO then XI ill place all the messages in the Same queue name so that it ill processes in order one after another and if the above message fails and remaining all other messages will be in the queue and doesnt process untill the failed mesages gets removed
But in case of  EO it may be places in any queue and if one message fails then another message of same interface may processed sucessfully based on another queue order.
I hope it wil be helpful to you...

  • Creating filters for tRFC and qRFC (SM58).

    Hi All,
I am trying to create filters for qRFC and tRFC as per OSS note 441269 - Setting up tRFC/qRFC monitoring in the alert monitor. When I try to create/copy owner I am getting error "_not in name space_" in task bar when I try to save the changes, I tried all kinds of naming convection still unable to proceed. Pls tell me how can I resolve this issue.

    Hi Jordan,
We used to 'reorganize' the tRFC/qRFC LUWs via sm58.
Your found note is ok and try to refer some other notes as well.
Note 375566 - Large number of entries in tRFC and qRFC tables
Note 760113 - Delete unprocessed LUWs in the qRFC

  • BGRFC advantages over trfc and qrfc

    Hi ,
Can anyone tell me what are the advantages of bgrfc over trfc and qrfc if i have to consider bgrfc.
    Thanks
    Akriti

    Hello Akriti,
bgRFC allows you to do everything that you could do with "Classic tRFC and qRFC".
But it does it faaar better.
It is far more scalable and has far better performance.
All these benefits are due to the way the bgRFC schedulers could be configured.
With "Classic tRFC and qRFC" - there is only one scheduler (one each for outbound and inbound) for the entire client. All the tRFC, qRFC entries for a given client are processed by only one scheduler and there is no way to increase the number of schedulers.
With bgRFC - you can have multiple schedulers in the system (in fact, multiple schedulers per application server is also possible).
The configurations could be controlled with SBGRFCCONF.
Remember though that simply increasing the number of schedulers does not increase the performance directly. I would suggest to keep the default settings there in SBGRFCCONF (by default, there will be one scheduler per application server in the system) and consider increasing the number only if this is not helping your performance.
    I highly recommend bgRFC.
    Thank you,

  • RSA7 and delta initialisation

If a extractor ZEX_SALDOC is delta enabled with Document number as the delta specific field is active. The extractor in RSA7 is RED and giving the message "There are still no parameters available for the delta transfer". How do I correct this?
    Can I do the below:
    1.delete the extractor in RSA7
2.delete the initialization pointer in BW
3.Do a initialization with no transfer
4.then change the scheduler to delta
    5.run the load
Doing the above, would the delta be affected if changes are made on a year old document.
    Thanks
    Simmi

    Hi,
Yes you can do the same specified by you. It should work.
Delete old init reqest in the bi for that particular extactor,
check in the rsa7 whether that extractor is vanished or not
do the init without data transfer again
check the extractor entry in rsa7
    schedule the delta load
    Thanks

  • Difference between  RSA7 AND  LBWQ

WHATS THE EXACT DIFFERNCE BETWEEN  EXTRACTION  QUEUE(lbwq) AND  BW  DELTA  QUEUE  (RSA7)
WHAT  WAS  EXACTLY HAPPENING IN POINT OF  LUW  AT  THESE  BOTH...
    TCODES...
    Regards
    Guru

    Hi,
    RSA7:delta queue
lists all the datadources (LO,generic,LIS)it is basically useful to know how many delta entires are present in the source sytem(interms of logical unit of work:LUW)
from here you can see the data packet size, and the update mode(delta update/delta repition)
LBWQ:outbound queue/extraction queue used when the delta method is queued delta(remember thre modes of delta update in LO extarction:direct delta, queued delta and unserialized v3 delta)
in this case once the data enters into application tables,it will be sent to delta Queue(RSA7) via extraction Queue(lbwq)
usually the flow is like this
for example for Queued delta(LO extraction)
data entered in application atables>>lBWQ>>>>RSA7>>>to the target(by scheduling an info package)
    Hope you are clear !!!!!!!!!!!!
    cheers,

  • Data source was activated and replicated but not showing up in RSA7.

    Hello,
Data source was activated and replicated but not showing up in RSA7.  At what point does the data source appear in the Delta Queue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
for LO,LIS,generic,FI data sources, delta records come from delta queue.
if u run the INIT in BW whether it may be success or not delta queue will be maintained in RSA7. and u can check the records in RSA7 or smq2.
when the init request goes to R/3 then it will maintains delta queue in RSA7.
    assign points if it helps,
    thanks,
    pavan.

  • Entries in SMQ1 and RSA7

    hi,
I have few delta queues running very fine in system. But I am bit
confused about tcodes smq1 and rsa7.If i am not wrong after running all jobs
( i.e. fetching data into BW ) entries in quesue must show 0.But it is not happening.
When will they become 0 or they never show as zero.
    Thanks,
    Prasanna N.

    HI,
If it is production system before upgrade get an outage of about 20 to 30 min and run Collective run jobs and move the delta queues from LBWQ to RSA7 and then to BI. As you are pulling the deltas during outage no posting will be there and you can leave the system for basis for outage.
It is mandatory to clean up the queues before giving the system for upgrade as during upgarde there may be possibility of queues being corrupted saying change in structures and it may raise issues during upgrade open queues are available.
Hence clean up the queue during outage ie lock all users for posting and do the activities.
    Thanks,
    Arun

  • SAP BW 7.4 ODQ and RSA7

    Hi All,
We are planning to run BW 7.4 on HANA and BW 3.5(older content data sources) systems paralally with 1 ECC.
In RSA5 we have delivered version ODQ capable data source (2lis_11_vaitm), If i activate delivered content old data sources to BW 3.5 system will work? (there is no rollback if i activate the data source from content)
If it works delta queue's are maintained in RSA7 and ODQMON? any thoughts please share ..
    Thanks.

First you need to understand the difference between ODQMON and RSA7.
RSA7 - Is for maintaining the Delta queue for BW system.
ODQMON - Is for maintaining the Delta Queue for external systems(BODS)
So just you need to activate from RSA5 and activate R\then replicate in bw side.
Then do all the needful activity in BW side.
And Delta Queue will maintained in RSA7.

    SM
