RSC3.1 (with RH8) randomly adds binary info to topics

RSC3.1 is adding binary info to the top of random topics. We only discovered this when a few output files were discovered to be missing entire chunks of content (up to 150 lines of code).
Opening the source file in the RH project revealed a red block containing "xmlns," and displayed an error message about third-party editors; clicking Yes to assign Design View seemed to clear up the problem.
Opening the file outside the RH project, using the editor Notepad++, revealed three instances of NUL|NUL|NUL immediately before the "<?xml " header. Deleting these also cleared up the problem.
Not knowing when or if this will happen again, I guess we'll periodically use the Notepad++ "Find in Files" function to search for "NUL" in the entire directory. (Notepad and Wordpad do not reveal this type of info, so the free Notepad++ is your best bet.)
I've posted a Bug Report for this issue.
Good luck,
Leon

Since Prelude doesn't work with Red footage, how can I add logging info to a file in Premiere Pro CS6?

RED footage has a restriction on metadata.  We are looking into what it would take to get full metadata support into our system, but you cannot tag red footage at this time.

  • Firefox allows random adds to run on my phone in the background.

Maybe it's the upgrade I installed a few days ago, but now Firefox is allowing random adds to play in the background on my Android phone, and I can't stop them. The particular add that's been flaying is a commercial for Verison Wireless.
I recall having the same problem on the desktop version of Firefox for Windows, and I had to go through some procedure I found online to get that to stop. Can't find any information related to Android. Anyway, I've uninstalled it from my Android until someone tells me how to stop these things or until there is a fix to stop them. How is that even allowed? Why would Firefox even allow adds to play which can't be seen or turned off, especially on a phone where data is often limited. It's bad enough it just start playing out of nowhere.

    HI bozjidar,
That is strange, so there are some add ons in Desktop that also have Android versions such as Ad block plus. I have seen edge cause a crash.
You can also do not track. Please see: [[How do I use Do-not-track on Firefox for Android?]]
Please post back with your results, we are happy to help.

  • Add revocation info (ocsp response) in the signatures

I'm doing an application to sign pdfs in java.
I already have successfully sign pdfs, but I want to add also the revocation info embedded into the file. I have no problems with CRLs, but I can't add the other revocation method like a ocsp response.
To get a fully signed pdf I have downloaded adobe pro 9 trial version, and I'm trying to sign a pdf with revocation info. For that I selected the "add revocation info when signing" in security preferences. So I sign a pdf with revocation info activated and another one without it. Comparing both files there is a file size difference of 300 KB, so I suppose something has added. But when I validate the pdf with the adobe reader I can't get a valid signature in offline mode. Really I'm not sure if the acrobat reader don't understands correctly the revocation info embedded in the pdf or if the signature itself is not correct.
If I use my program to sign the pdf and I add the crls the acrobat reader validate correctly the signature in offline mode.
Anyone have manage to sign a pdf with adobe pro 9 including revocation info? or anyone know where I cat get a sample pdf with an ocsp response embedded? or anyone knows something to help me?
    thanks.

    Hola Alfredo,
"So if I trust directly in the ocsp responder it would be a valid ocsp response, right?"
Wrong. Although nothing happens in Acrobat without trust being established, it's not enough to just assign a certificate in the chain "trust anchor" status. All of the other rules must be followed as well. As an example, although we have been discussing OCSP responses, similar rules apply to indirect CRLs. If a CA is using an indirect CRL the correct extensions in both the CRL itself and the certificate under test would need to be present. It wouldn't be enough to just trust the signer of the CRL.
"Is there any possibility in adobe to trust in the responder, the same way as I can do with the timestamp?"
It's a little more complicated than that, but Acrobat does allow for a user to establish local trust in accordance with RFC 2560, Section 4.2.2.2. You are asking about adding "a local configuration of OCSP signing authority for the certificate in question". It can be done using the registry keys defined in the Acrobat Security Administration Guide (location noted in the first reply above), Section 5.4.1.1. You need to define the iURLToConsult and the sURL (which tells Acrobat to accept any OCSP response that comes from this URL). That's the effect you are looking for. However, these are global settings and will overwrite any other certificates, so you might want to set up a Custom Cert Preference as described in Section 3.4.6.
"Adobe have any type of utility or log to show more details about the signature verification?"
Yes, check out section 5.4.4.4 of the Acrobat Security Administration Guide.
"In that last case with the nextUpdate problem it were not giving me any type of error about the ocsp, but anyway It didn't consider valid the response as you say."
With apologies, I wasn't clear enough on this issue. It's not that Acrobat doesn't consider the response valid, but rather it's doesn't consider the response usable for other than "real time" usage. An OCSP response downloaded in real time that doesn't contain the nextUpdate extension is valid (assuming all other checks are okay). It's only when you are trying to use a cached OCSP response without the nextUpdate extension that Acrobat won't accept it. The lack of the nextUpdate extension is a tool that the CAs have at their disposal to force requesting applications (in this case Acrobat) to always ask for the latest information and not rely on older data.
"And the last question, where can I get a sample pdf with an embedded valid ocsp response? do you have any sample one?"
The Acrobat Security Administration Guide has an embedded OCSP response covering the end-entity in the signing chain.

  • Unable to Copy and Paste XML View with BI Office Add In

    Hi there,
I'm having issues with the BI Add-In for MS Office. I am able to connect and insert views from within Excel or Powerpoint. However when I log into Answers using my browser and copy a compound answer, I am unable to paste it back into excel or Powerpoint.
When I try to paste the view, I recieve the error "No Oracle BI view in clipboard".
So I assume the error is with capturing that information in the clipboard. I've tried with both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    I'm using:

Hi saichand, thanks for the link.
I've looked through that thread and the work around the poster comes up with is not actually Office integration. He is able to simply import an image into his powerpoint. It doesn't appear to be able to refresh the data that way. I am looking to be able to paste in a report definition so that the data can be updated.
Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to sync 2 different Mac users using the same Apple ID and with out mixing each other info?

How to sync 2 different Mac users using the same Apple ID and with out mixing each other info?
We are two people using three difrent Macs, 1 Iphone and 1 Ipad with separate USERS  on each Mac but sharing the same Apple ID: xxxxxx
I set up the first user to iCloud and it was OK but when I set up the second user to use iCoud the first users's info gets mixed with the second user's info?
Do we have to set up a diffrent Apple ID for each other?
Sometime ago I added my friends E mail (yyyyy) to the main Apple ID (xxxx) as for using his E mail account (to separate our e mail accounts, and it's working ok) but now when I try to create a new apple ID whith the same friend's e mail (yyyyyy)  it says that his mail (yyyyy) is already an apple ID when the Apple ID is really my E mail (xxxxx)... any clue?
    Thanks

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered
    Go here > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Manage your Apple ID and see if that does the trick
    Hope that helps

  • How can I make a tent with two halves of the info ( and pictures one direction and the other half the opposite direction ( towards each other of course)

How can I make a table tent in PAGES with both halves of the info and pictures turned towards each other?  I can figure out how to turn just the picture upside down  AND the text sideways, but not upside down with the picture included so that it is at the top and not the bottom!

Layout the picture and text (in text boxes) the way you want them in the lower half of the page. Then Select All and Group them. With the Group selected, type Cmnd+D to duplicate it and then hold down the Shift and Command keys and grab a corner box (you’ll see a double headed arrow) and rotate the box until it’s upside down. (Holding down the Shift key will constrain the rotation to 45 and 90 degree positions.) Now drag the box into position in the top half of the page.

  • "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" - how to disable?

I am using the latest Firefox (28.0) on Windows XP in a shared computer environment. Although I do not have Administrator access, I installed Firefox myself and can change whatever Firefox config settings I want (including about:config and mucking with the files in the installation directory).
I want to disable the tab that appears on Firefox startup, "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on". This tab usually appears once per day (the first time I startup Firefox each day). I want the tab not to appear at all, from now on.
The "another program" in question is some program that is used in the facility where I'm using the computer, so I can't just uninstall that program. Although this is a shared computer environment, they don't "wipe" the machine every day, just reboot. So the Firefox I installed is still there with all my config settings intact. As far as I know, I'm the only person who uses Firefox on this computer.
    Solutions that don't work:
"Just click Continue" -- but then I still see the "Another program" tab every day, and don't want to see it.
"Click Remove in the Add-ons list" -- I removed the Add-on in question but the tab still appears every day.
I would like a solution that either eliminates the Add-on request for that particular application, or eliminates all such requests ("Another program...") regardless of what application requested it. The ideal solution would be if the request itself had a checkbox for "never ask this again" but, alas, no such luck.

Gosh... I spent about an hour preparing a response, then accidentally did control-something or alt-something which took me back a page and I lost everything I typed (even after I clicked Forward to try to get back to where I was). If anyone knows of a config setting like "don't ever trash an entire page of user input unless the user explicitly confirms it", or, "keep form input data even if the user goes Back or Forward", I think that would be a great feature.
OK, back to the original question...
I appreciate the responses thus far, but I think there have been some misunderstandings. Maybe a multiple-choice version would help:
Question: Is there a way to suppress the appearance of the notification tab that says, "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" (meaning, any request from another program to install an add-on is to be silently ignored and discarded)?
    Answer:
    (A) Yes, you can suppress that notification (please state how).
    (B) No, but you can request that feature (please state where).
    (C) No, you can't do that or request that feature.
That's basically my question in a nutshell. If the answer is (B), I might envision a boolean about:config setting like "extensions.allowProgrammaticAddonRequests" that defaults to "true" and can be set to "false" manually. I think that would be the most direct solution (if it were possible).
I will respond to some comments from above:
"I don't understand why you are using a mozilla.cfg file to lock those preferences when you can modify the preferences for your current Firefox profile via about:config" -- This is because the "other program" in question (iCafe Manager) was setting certain config options (browser.startup.homepage, and browser.newtab.url) on every reboot (which happens every morning at that facility). I got tired of manually changing the settings back every day. Using the above-mentioned files, I successfully defeated iCafe Manager's daily interference with those config settings. The other things (like stuff related to Socks tunnelling) I probably could have just set once in about:config but doing a lockPref seemed to do no harm. The settings for "enabledScopes" and "xpinstall" were to see if they'd help with the problem I originally asked about, but they did not.
"I would look in about:config to make sure those preference modifications are in effect" -- yes, I confirmed that the settings are in effect and locked. That much works as expected.
"A) removing the iCafe Toolbar extension from the Firefox Addons -> Extensions panel results in the "Another program" tab at startup" -- true, but I think it would be more accurate to say: while the toolbar extension is not installed (due to either having been removed, or, never having been installed at all), the "Another program" tab appears on at least the first startup of Firefox after every reboot.
"B) when you allow the installation it shows up as "(disabled)" in the Extensions list but the unwanted toolbar still shows up (correct?)" -- yes, correct.
"You could explain the problem to the system administrator of your facility" -- unfortunately, there's no administrator on site, only a person who makes sure the lights are on. They'll call a tech if there's a catastrophic problem (like the net connection goes dead). Since I installed Firefox myself, and since iCafe Manager is a program they installed, I don't think they'll go out of their way to help me with Firefox (especially if I'm trying to defeat iCafe Manager's attempts to interfere with Firefox). From their point of view, their systems are working just fine.
"allow the installation and then see if you can go to the Firefox Customize menu and HIDE the toolbar as a workaround" -- since I'm not in that facility now (and probably won't be again until this summer or so), I can't experiment with those systems now. But I do recall clicking just about everything I could, including "View - Toolbars" (which seems to be the same menu as when I right-click on a toolbar line). That menu allows hiding toolbars, but from my recollection, the offending toolbar was not displayed in the list, so I could not hide it that way. Also, the Customize menu ("View - Toolbars - Customize") seems to allow only modifications to a toolbar, and not a way to hide an entire toolbar.
"it might help if you could post a new troubleshooting information list after you allow the iCafe Toolbar installation" -- ok, that troubleshooting report is included below.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" - how do I allow extensions?

I cannot get extensions to run or enable, nor does the browser remember my preference.
For example, after I install or Enable an extension, when I restart Firefox I get a tab for every extension that forces me to check "Allow this installation" after the prompt "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on".
Moreover, when I click 'Options' on an installed extension, Firefox freezes permanently.
Note that I DO NOT have any extensions.* files in my Profile folder, nor do they appear.
I am trying to get MozRepl running. I am able to install it, but the menu option does not get added in the 'Tools' menu. Moreover none of the installed extensions are able to add to the menu.
I've tried every solution in the following links
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929335
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save
I have made the Profiles\ folder and all subfolders Read-only, including the files.
I have tried the "Reset Firefox to its default state".
I have tried uninstalling (including removing all profiles/data) and re-installing Firefox, and I get the same issues.
My operating system is Windows 7 and I have McAfee SiteAdvisor Enterprise Plus and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

  • Message "another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" appears every time a new user logs in... Bad problem

I have just deployed an image to over 500 workstations, and they are all deep frozen using deepfreeze.
When users are logging in, and open Firefox they are getting the message "another program on your computer would like to modify firefox with the following add-on:" Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF 1.2
Yes I know u can do a one-time click and allow, but we have potentially 50,000+ students logging into these PCs and it is unacceptable that they are greeted with this message rather than the Homepage.
This is very dissapointing, as we upgraded to the latest version of firefox in preperation for rollout, and then added some software like adobe.
The profile is kept in the default user, so everytime a user logs in, they will get prompted with the message, and this will always happen because we use deepfreeze.
I need a FIX ASAP from mozilla on how to disable this pop-up via Group Policy...
    Not at all happy,
    Sharpy

    Hi,
One way you could try is to install Firefox on a fresh PC/image which has the same Adobe software versions installed as the clients. You may also have to install the same extensions as well as software for any additional plugins as on the clients. Start Firefox and make sure everything is okay. After that you can copy and overwrite the '''extensions.ini''', '''extensions.sqlite''' and '''pluginreg.dat''' files and probably the '''extensions''' folder and any supporting files of the extensions from this fresh profile, onto a client profile after temporarily disabling/unfreezing Deep Freeze. If everything is okay you can then push the changes onto the other clients via a logon/startup script after temporarily disabling Deep Freeze and then re-enable Deep Freeze.
