RSCRM_BAPI misreads

Hi All-
I am using RSCRM_BAPI to send a CSV file. The extract contains a few text fields which comes from R/3. There are records with text that come across with commas or semicolons. The delimiter in the query extract is a comma. When the records are extracted into CSV format it skews the records.
Is there a way to extract the text fields like a string? For instance, the current text field comes over as new york, buyer which is read in as 2 columns when it should be read in as 1 column "new york, buyer" .
P.S. Tab delimiter is not an option we would like to use.
Thanks you in advance.

the only way to do this is to use another delimiter like pipe, and extract, then change the pipe to a comma using a batch program before you put the files in the destination folder,
there are other constraints too like headers etc, which you can solve using a third party tool.

  • Windows Explorer misreads large-file .zip archives

I just spent about 90 minutes trying to report this problem through
the normal support channels with no useful result, so, in desperation,
I'm trying here, in the hope that someone can direct this report to some
    useful place.
There appears to be a bug in the .zip archive reader used by Windows
Explorer in Windows 7 (and up, most likely).
An Info-ZIP Zip user recently reported a problem with an archive
created using our Zip program.  The archive was valid, but it contained
a file which was larger than 4GiB.  The complaint was that Windows
Explorer displayed (and, apparently believed) an absurdly large size
value for this large-file archive member.  We have since reproduced the
    problem.
The original .zip archive format includes uncompressed and compressed
sizes for archive members (files), and these sizes were stored in 32-bit
fields.  This caused problems for files which are larger than 4GiB (or,
on some system types, where signed size values were used, 2GiB).  The
solution to this fundamental limitation was to extend the .zip archive
format to allow storage of 64-bit member sizes, when necessary.  (PKWARE
identifies this format extension as "Zip64".)
The .zip archive format includes a mechanism, the "Extra Field", for
storing various kinds of metadata which had no place in the normal
archive file headers.  Examples include OS-specific file-attribute data,
such as Finder info and extended attributes for Apple Macintosh; record
format, record size, and record type data for VMS/OpenVMS; universal
file times and/or UID/GID for UNIX(-like) systems; and so on.  The Extra
Field is where the 64-bit member sizes are stored, when the fixed 32-bit
    size fields are too small.
An Extra Field has a structure which allows multiple types of extra
data to be included.  It comprises one or more "Extra Blocks", each of
    which has the following structure:
           Size (bytes) | Description
          --------------+------------
                2       | Type code
2       | Number of data bytes to follow
            (variable)  | Extra block data
The problem with the .zip archive reader used by Windows Explorer is
that it appears to expect the Extra Block which includes the 64-bit
member sizes (type code = 0x0001) to be the first (or only) Extra Block
in the Extra Field.  If some other Extra Block appears at the start of
the Extra Field, then its (non-size) data are being incorrectly
interpreted as the 64-bit sizes, while the actual 64-bit size data,
further along in the Extra Field, are ignored.
Perhaps the .zip archive _writer_ used by Windows Explorer always
places the Extra Block with the 64-bit sizes in this special location,
but the .zip specification does not demand any particular order or
placement of Extra Blocks in the Extra Field, and other programs
(Info-ZIP Zip, for example) should not be expected to abide by this
artificial restriction.  For details, see section "4.5 Extensible data
    fields" in the PKWARE APPNOTE:
          http://www.pkware.com/documents/casestudies/APPNOTE.TXT
A .zip archive reader is expected to consider the Extra Block type
codes, and interpret accordingly the data which follow.  In particular,
it's not sufficient to trust that any particular Extra Block will be the
first one in the Extra Field.  It's generally safe to ignore any Extra
Block whose type code is not recognized, but it's crucial to scan the
Extra Field, identify each Extra Block, and handle it according to its
    type.
Here are some relatively small (about 14MiB each) test archives which
    illustrate the problem:

          http://antinode.info/ftp/info-zip/ms_zip64/test_4g_V.zip
          http://antinode.info/ftp/info-zip/ms_zip64/test_4g_W.zip
Correct info, from UnZip 6.00 ("unzip -lv"):
    Archive:  test_4g.zip
Length   Method    Size  Cmpr    Date    Time   CRC-32   Name
    4362076160  Defl:X 14800839 100% 05-01-2014 15:33 6d8d2ece  test_4g.txt
    Archive:  test_4g_V.zip
Length   Method    Size  Cmpr    Date    Time   CRC-32   Name
    4362076160  Defl:X 14800839 100% 05-01-2014 15:33 6d8d2ece  test_4g.txt
    Archive:  test_4g_W.zip
Length   Method    Size  Cmpr    Date    Time   CRC-32   Name
    4362076160  Defl:X 14800839 100% 05-01-2014 15:33 6d8d2ece  test_4g.txt
(In these reports, "Length" is the uncompressed size; "Size" is the
    compressed size.)
Incorrect info, from (Windows 7) Windows Explorer:
    Archive        Name          Compressed size   Size
    test_4g.zip    test_4g.txt         14,454 KB   562,951,376,907,238 KB
    test_4g_V.zip  test_4g.txt         14,454 KB   8,796,110,221,518 KB
    test_4g_W.zip  test_4g.txt         14,454 KB   1,464,940,363,777 KB
Faced with these unrealistic sizes, Windows Explorer refuses to
extract the member file, for lack of (petabytes of) free disk space.
The archive test_4g.zip has the following Extra Blocks: universal
    time (type = 0x5455) and 64-bit sizes (type = 0x0001).  test_4g_V.zip
    has: PWWARE VMS (type = 0x000c) and 64-bit sizes (type = 0x0001).
test_4g_W.zip has: NT security descriptor (type = 0x4453), universal
    time (type = 0x5455), and 64-bit sizes (type = 0x0001).  Obviously,
Info-ZIP UnZip has no trouble correctly finding the 64-bit size info in
these archives, but Windows Explorer is clearly confused.  (Note that
"1,464,940,363,777 KB" translates to 0x0005545500000400 (bytes), and
"0x00055455" looks exactly like the size, "0x0005" and the type code
"0x5455" for a "UT" universal time Extra Block, which was present in
that archive.  This is consistent with the hypothesis that the wrong
data in the Extra Field are being interpreted as the 64-bit size data.)
Without being able to see the source code involved here, it's hard to
know exactly what it's doing wrong, but it does appear that the .zip
reader used by Windows Explorer is using a very (too) simple-minded
method to extract 64-bit size data from the Extra Field, causing it to
get bad data from a properly formed archive.
I suspect that the engineer involved will have little trouble finding
and fixing the code which parses an Extra Field to extract the 64-bit
sizes correctly, but if anyone has any questions, we'd be happy to help.

    > We can't get the source (info-zip) program for test.
I don't know why you would need to, but yes, you can:
          http://www.info-zip.org/
          ftp://ftp.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/src/
You can also get pre-built executables for Windows:

    > In addition, since other zip application runs correctly. Since it should
    > be your software itself issue.
You seem to misunderstand the situation.  The facts are these:
       1.  For your convenience, I've provided three test archives, each of
which includes a file larger than 4GiB.  These archives are valid.
       2.  Info-ZIP UnZip (version 6.00 or newer) can process these archives
correctly.  This is consistent with the fact that these archives are
    valid.
       3.  Programs from other vendors can process these archives correctly.
I've supplied a screenshot showing one of them (7-Zip) doing so, as you
requested.  This is consistent with the fact that these archives are
    valid.
       4.  Windows Explorer (on Windows 7) cannot process these archives
correctly, apparently because it misreads the (Zip64) file size data.
I've supplied a screenshot of Windows Explorer showing the bad file size
it gets, and the failure that occurs when one tries to use it to extract
the file from one of these archives, as you requested.  This is
consistent with the fact that there's a bug in the .zip reader used by
    Windows Explorer.
Yes, "other zip application runs correctly."  Info-ZIP UnZip runs
correctly.  Only Windows Explorer does _not_ run correctly.

  • Error while downloading data Using RSCRM_BAPI

    Hi Folks,
I am getting the below mentioned error message while downloading the data from BW report to csv file using RSCRM_BAPI.
Can anyone help on this error ?
Internal error in method CHECK_TABLE_NAME (RSCRMBW_EX_NAMESPACE_GET)

    hi lakshmi:
I also tried to use this t-code. but this has lots of restrictions..and its not recommended to use this t-code for complex queries. There are OSS NOtes out there for restrictions for this t-code.
I got to know from other forums on SDN that there is other RSCRMBW_REPORT FM. which is better to use. but not able to use it... there is specific way for that FM. If you try that and if it works for you please let me also know.
Also, try to look at this forums:

  • RSCRM_BAPI scheduling of extract jobs after an event

    Hi
We are using RSCRM_BAPI to extract data from 3 BW queries and export the data to a CSV file so that it can be picked up and loaded to another system.
The extracts run fine, but I am trying to find a way of including them within the BW process chains with a dependency on the final cube load. This way we can ensure that they are triggered when the data has correctly loaded.
    Any suggestions please?

Get the list of Start Variants from table RSPCTRIGGER by giving the list of event ID's or EVENTID <> Blank.
Then enter this list of start variants in RSPCCHAIN to get the list of process chains.

  • RSCRM_BAPI Scheduling

Is there anyway to schedule RSCRM_BAPI ? i.e attach it to process chain or run weekly...
    Thanks.

    Hi Deepu,
One option I can think of is to write an ABAP, use BDC in the ABAP to call RSCRM_BAPI transaction. And schedule this abap in a process chain.
Haven't tried it before, but gave it a thought. Pls let me know whether this solves the problem.

  • Scheduling RSCRM_BAPI extract as a SAP job

    Hi all,
Of late I have trying to executing Bex query extract thru RSCRM_BAPI and needed a way to be able to schedule an user defined job so for that so that I have control in terms of when I execute the job.
I went thru SDN and found this Function module RSCRMBW_REPORT which is supposed to do the part however I am getting a error since my BEx query has a variable screen and I dont know how I can take care of that.  I am currently getting the error from the function module:
"The entry type of variable ZPM_MEDT requires you to enter values"
Where ZPM_MEDT is a date variable on my Bex report.
So the question is how do I get my variables to my Bex report while using Fn module RSCRMBW_REPORT.  I tried Bex personalization it didnt work.

    Hi,
I seen this transaction running on back ground, unfurtunately I didnt run it but this is my experience.
We used it to run availability check every 4 hours and the system performance gets lows, of course it depends on technical architecture and volume of material. It reads every line on sales ordes that, in ours scenarios was so high (about 5000 lines in one day or more).
It works perfectly, but buffers get alarme on pics of the operations.
If you program it on low transaction volume, if can be very good, you may also talk before with your basis and explain him this performance issue, maybe he can help.
I hope you find this hopeful.

  • Error while using RSCRM_BAPI with remote cubes

    Hi,
We are getting short dump while trying to use RSCRM_BAPI with hierarchies i.e.display hierarchies to extract data to a flat file.
We do get a warning that display hierachies are not longer supported in 2004s with RSCRM_BAPI and have been going on and on with SAP development.  They are saying we need to find alternatives.
I wanted to know if anybody has tried using display hierarchies with RSCRM_BAPI in 2004s if not then I would like to know what are my options in getting a flat hierarchy report on to a flat file?
I dont think infospoke supports flat hierarchy extracts as infoproviders dont store hierarchy information.
    Thanks

    Heres my thought -
to use Bex Broadcaster to download the information,am not sure if RSCRM_BAPI is replaced by new functionality ,might wait for SAP to confirm.

  • Empty lines being transfered with RSCRM_BAPI

    Hi guys,
I have to transfer the result f one query to a table. For this requirement Iu2019m using transaction RSCRM_BAPI transaction.
The problem is that my query is gigantic and it has a structure in rows with 150 selections visible and 250 that are not visible, but are used in calculations. Besides this big structure I have 7 InfoObjects in columns.
Iu2019m being able to feed my table, but I noticed that more than half of the lines have all values empty, i.e., zero.
I tried to place a condition in query, but it gets ignored.
Do you know a way to skip the lines that have all values zero?
    Thanks in advance.
Points will be awarded of course.
    João Arvanas,

    Hi Joao,
This is actually a common problem.  Conditions and row suppression does not work for RSCRM_BAPI.  The underlying function module is WREX_GETDATA.
    I've tackled this two ways.
    1)  Write a program using WREX_GETDATA and modify the empty entries in memory before writing to table.
    2)  Use the Query in an APD to extract the data and remove the entries via a filter or ABAP process.
    Tips on solution 2
Make sure you unhide all your keyfigures.

  • Problem in executing query in RSCRM_BAPI  & output in application server!

    hi Experts,
We executed a query using RSCRM_BAPI transaction and write it to the application server. We found the following problem.
In the query we have restricted the keyfigures such that each have 2 decimal places but when we execute the query using RSCRM_BAPI and writing into the application server the more than 2 decimal places are coming in to the file.
    For example:
In the query the value is 12.12 but in the application server its written as 12.1200000
So the width gets elongated and some of the keyfigures are truncated.
We have already have gone through the restrictions in the SAP Note Number 605208
Please help us to find a solution to get output of keyfigures same as whatever coming in the output of query.
    Thanks in advance

sorry, i mistakenly sent it in different id....this is my id.......if it is useful assign points to this id...
Using RSCRM_BAPI, RSCRM_REPORT, suitable for simple query.
In your query you are using Restricted, calculated keyfigure.in that case RSCRM_BAPI, RSCRM_REPORT has some restriction.
Check OSS 605208 which describes RSCRM_BAPI restrictions .
    Re: Master Data Datasources
You can Modify the Wrtiequery abap program for your requirement.
    or
Create a ABAP program for extracting a bw query and upload it in Application server in csv format.

You can run it in background using RSCRM_BAPI, but you need to maintain Customer Exit/SAP Exit variable/Constaants for all Variables, Bcoz it will run in background so the selection screen need to fill automatically.

Sorry for the delay in reponse.  I have changed the all variables either to populater by user exit or hard code it to a filter (constant).  But I am having problem executing the function RSCRMBW_REPORT

Now I am getting short dump in the GET_CUBETYPE() method in the CL_RSCRMBW_BAPI class.  For some reason the cube name is not being parsed from the report ID name "YC_OO/ZYM_OO_Q0002_2".  Am I missing something?
Also is there any other way SAP provides to schedule RSCRM_BAPI queries to a table externally without using standard job scheduliing from within the RSCRM_BAPI transaction.
