RSD on Windows ?

Does anyone had RSD running windows (using bootcamp) ?

I haven't tried Boot Camp yet but I've read several reports of users here who have experienced the RSD while in Windows. Do a search and you'll come across them.

    Hi -
When attempting to render a report (.rdl) in a SharePoint 2010 document library that has a

  • Windows Integrated Security with SSRS, Sharepoint 2013 and SSAS over http

I have the following setup and problem:
Sharepoint 2013 with SSRS in Sharepoint integrated mode
SSAS 2012 SP1 with http access (IIS + msmdpump) enabled on the same box as SSAS
Every component I have tried works fine with this (PerformancePoint, .bism connections, SSIS packages etc.), connecting over http using Kerberos and windows integrated authentication.
SSRS (.rsds) connections in Sharepoint fail a connection test when using the same http connection string + Windows integrated authentication which works for everything else. The error is: "Unsupported data format: -> Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataExtensions.AdomdTestConnectionException:
    Unsupported data format:"
SQL server profiler shows that the windows username is reaching the SSAS server is all cases.
Kerberos delegation is set up for SSAS and is working.
Switching the .rsds connection to saved credentials (same user as I tried with Windows integrated auth) works fine and SQL server profile logs look the same as the Windows integrated case.
So, everything seems to work with Kerberos + http apart from SSRS ... any idea welcome. I did read that SSPI is not supported for http connections but then again, there are sites which give examples of exactly such connection strings. I can't find any
mention of this case or exact problem anywhere ...

For information, this was fixed by applying the .NET 4.5.1 patch as advised by MS support. Now http connections from integrated mode SSRS work ok.

  • Integrated Windows Authentication with a WebSphere Cliente

    Hi all,
I need to write a web service client that connects to a .NET Web Service that is configured to use Integrated Windows Authentication (NTLM).
I'm using the IBM WebSphere Runtime environment for the client and using the web service client wizard in the RSD 6.0.1.
When I try to call a method in the .NET web service, I get the error shown below. If I configure the .NET web service to permit Anonymous Access, my client works fine.
Does anybody know if the WebSphere web services engine supports Integrated Windows Authentication? If so, how can I configure my cliente to pass my credentials? Do people use this type of authentication if the web service will be called by non Windows clientes or is it better to use Basic Authentication with HTTPS or digital certificates?
I've read that Apache Axis can be configured to use integrated windows authentication (http://people.etango.com/~markm/archives/2005/11/21/using_apache_axis_with_integrated_windows_security.html) by using a different HTTP transport class (CommonsHTTPSender).
    Thanks in advance!

  • Requirement to enable more than two concurrent RDP sessions on multiple Windows Server 2012

I have an existing Remote desktop licensing server, which has users CALs for server 2008. Now I have some windows server 2012 R2, where more than 2 concurrent RDP connections are required.
What I understand that I will need to install RDS server roes on all my Widows Server 2012 and I will need to have at least one RD licensing server to install RDS CALS, that’s all.
If it is correct, the questions is : Can I use my existing license server to add my newly purchased version 2012 RDS user CALs or I will need a new licensing server?
If it is not correct, then what else I need
I appreciate your detail step by step
    Thanks

    Thanks the for steps, provided,
    So in short,
I will need a Windows 2012 Server to install RSD 2012 licencing server to setup my newly purchased X number of RDS 2012 user CALs.
As I just want more than 2 concurrent RDP connection to happen on some Windows 2012 server, I will require to select “Role-Based or feature-based installation and ONLY will enable Remote Desktop Licensing Role and Demote Desktop Session
    Host.
I will need to add RD Licencing and add the server 2012 servers; I want more than 2 concurrent connections to happen.
I will need to enable RD Licensing mode as per user
    Question:
    1. What I need to enable on those servers, where I want concurrent RPD connection to happen
    2. In which stage and where I will enable my users CALs, I purchased?
    3. Do I have to install RD Session Host role service on the servers, where more than two RPD users will connect at the same time?
I am also in dark, how my user will connect those servers, with RDP connection or with  RD Web Access.
All I want to do is to enable more then 2 concurrent connection to some Windows Server 2012 R2. I have already purchased some RDS 2012 R2 Users CAL

  • Symbols for wmp.dll on Windows 8.1?

Hi, I'm trying to load the debugging symbols for wmp.dll on Windows 8.1, but the symchk output shows that they don't exist on the Microsoft symbol server (see below). I've also installed the Windows 8.1 x86 32-bit retail symbols from

Yes, it looks like the matching pdb for your version of wmp.dll is missing on the MS-symbol-server. Could be a glitch on their side.
Symbols in 'Windows symbol packages' include sometimes 'outdated' symbol files, (PDB-Signatures of pdb and module differ).
If symbols for certain modules are missing altogether in these packages, MS may not have the intention to publish them for reason of intellectual property. (Personal opinion).
In any case, to my knowledge, the team in charge of public-symbols - at least for system modules (hmm, wmp is media player ...) - can be contacted via

    With kind regards
    Edit: wording
Just see, for Vista symbols for wmp.dll are available through public-symbol-server, though
    call themselves wmp_notestroot.pdb

  • Are RSDs really caused by hardware??

I'm becoming slightly skeptical about it...
I guess I'll start with my experience with RSDs:
So I bought my MacBook back in May (week 21). Everything was pretty good, except for the whine and moo, but I decided I could live with those. Anyway, up until yesterday, I was sure I wouldn't be getting the random shutdowns, but alas, I did:
I had recently bought a Mighty Mouse, so I plugged that in and messed with some of the preferences. Then I opened Safari, Mail, and iChat. Everything was OK, but then I opened iTunes, and it shut down.
At first, I tried starting the computer again. It worked, but about a minute after loading, it shut down again. So, remembering that people said RSDs don't happen in Windows, I started up with it, to look for a solution. I found one, but it involved going into Mac OS X. Then I remembered that taking the battery out also seemed to work. Doing that, I started up in Mac OS X, and had no problems.
The solution involved deleting some extention files, rebooting, and then replacing them, deleting them, rebooting, replacing them, checking this and that etc. I really didn't have the time for all of that, so I just deleted the extentions, rebooted and replaced one of them (the AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext or something). After that, I had no shutdowns. BUT it still happened when I ran yes >/dev/null/ in two terminal windows. So that confused me a little.
Anyway, the top 4 reasons I'm skeptical are:
    1. Running under Windows = no RSD
    2. With the AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext? deleted and replaced it worked.
    3. No battery = no RSD
    4. All the above three are slighty related (Windows = no .kext file, and I'm not sure about this one, but if there is no battery there is no communication with the .kext file??)
Anyway, sorry for the really long post... I'm just really hoping I don't have to go through what so many people seem to be (getting their logic boards replaced, only to find it didn't resolve the problem, or it doesn't pass final testing by Apple).
    Zeb
    MacBook 1.83GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1 GB RAM / 100 GB HD

    Hi Zeb,
I think for most people, the RSD is a hardware problem. When you remove the battery I believe your MacBook starts up and is locked at 1/2 speed or 1.0GHz. you can see if it's a processor load, heat register type problem running in this fashion will certainly mask it.
You can also try shutting it down and then hold the powerbutton down until you hear a tone. This forces the CPU to half speed as well and many people report no RSD's.
As far as Windows is concerned, are all the drivers loaded and are you running at full CPU speed? If so I would be concerned that those not experiencing RSD's could actually overheat thier systems.
I too tried some of the "software" fixes and it did not last for mine. In fact once mine shutdown while running off the install DVD I knew it was a hardware problem.

    Sorry - week 19 MacBook's (1 okay, 1 out for repair)

  • Troubleshooting RSD. Part 2. Solution!!!!!!!!!

Today i spent an hour at my local Apple store talking with Apple Genius and i discovered some important things.
First of all i reproduced exactly the RSD issue by letting macbook shut down and by fixing it with fan speed issue as explained in my previous post.
What follow is a supposition maybe it's true maybe not, it's an important feedback of a user.
Fan speed is not managed by firmware but by Mac os X.
    What that means?
The firmware update it's not the cause to RSD issue... firmware update would fix this issue maybe.
RSD ISSUE is caused by 10.4.7 update. Why?
Well, Mac os X manage fan speed and firmware update fixed mooing fan issue. What's wrong?
Combination of firmware update and 10.4.7 update caused RSD.
What was not convincing me is this :
I use this macbook with windows and RSD for temp halt is present same as running mac os x.
So i asked myself, is it possible that 3 separated operating system (Linux Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, WIndows XP professional SP2, and Mac os x 10.4.7) suffer same RSD issue?
I answered myself, it's impossible, it is an hardware fault because common thing between these O.S. is hardware and hw configuration.
Well this is the conclusion :
Mac OS x manage fan speed, windows xp boot from BIOS , linux too.. Macbook does not have bios, EFI instead of it.
    What's on EFI Partition 200MB?
maybe a bios file for emulation something like that or other important thing..
    And this is the trick.
    1) 10.4.7 killed thousand of macbook
    2) boot camp probably write a file to 200mb EFI partition emulating a bios.
    3) Mac os x is not managing fan speed and it's configuration maybe has been written in 200EFI partition so ....
    4) Windows XP will use same configuration of Mac os and linux too...
    And now?
well, nothing simpler... just Format Everything with write all zeros option, delete all partition , windows linux.
Restore from DVD and if you want install boot camp 1.1 and so on.
I didn't believe this could fix until i started my macbook from an external firewire Hd (Mac Os 10.4.6)... well fan doing it's job.
On my macbook as i said fan is always low speed, by starting up with external HD fan working full speed.
    Backupping now

This topic has been discussed over and over. I'm not sure there is any one problem...
With that said, a few things to notice.
    1. Fan Speed is controlled by power management (ACPI). Under BootCamp (Ubuntu and Windows), the information needed to control the fan speed is the current temperature of the processor and the current fan speed. Using this information, the fan controller portion in the OS can make informed decisions for controlling the fan. However, the information comes from the BIOS. Since the MacBook is emulating BIOS through Bootcamp (for both Ubuntu and Windows), it seems that this could indeed be a firmware issue. I guess I'm assuming that if the firmware was incorrect and the firmware feeds the BIOS emulator the necessary temp information, then the firmware could easily be the cause. This would also make OS X systems overheat. Therefore, there IS a common thread among all three operating systems.
    2. What if this is simply a hardware issue. If I understand correctly, cool air is drawn in around the keys and exhausted through the vent under the LCD. Just looking at my MacBook, I notice that there is very little space for air to flow since my LCD seems to block a good portion of the vent. Therefore, if the processor is running at full speed for a decent amount of time, it simply may produce too much heat for the fans to dissipate. This is very dependent on how a user uses their laptop and heat can damage things so if it happens once, it may be more likely to happen again. This too would effect all three operating systems.
At the end of the day, there are many reasons why the overheating occurrs. Simply do your best and keep sending your MacBook in for repair until they fix it for you. I'm sure they are looking into the problem and will discover a fix in the near future.

  • Problem with Threads and "plase wait..."-Window

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem that I'm not able to solve in any way... I have a time-consuming task (a file decryption) which I execute in a separate thread; I've used the SwingWorker class, like suggested by sun-tutorial, and it works right. The problem is that I have to wait that the decryption have finished before continuing with program-execution. Therefore I would like to display a "please wait"-window while the task runs. I've tryed all the possible ways I know but the problem is always the same: the waitWindow is displayed empty, the bounds are painted but the contents no; it's only painted when the decrypt-task has finished. Please help me, I have no more resources....

Last sunday i install a window 8 and this window format my all drive & make it 1 drive (DRIVE C). Before all of this i have 5 drive in different size with 1 Bitlocker protect drive.
So i try data recovery software to recover my data. i got back all my data without that ( bitlocker ) protected drive.
so please guys help me how can i get back data from bitlocker protected drives.
    please please help me.

    Hi,
I sorry for your experience, but there is no way to recovery the data encryped by BitLocker untill now.
BitLocker is designed to make the encrypted drive unrecoverable without the required authentication. When in recovery mode, the user needs the recovery password or recovery key to unlock the encrypted drive. Therefore, we highly recommend
that you store the recovery information in AD DS or in another safe location.

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 - Can't scan from Windows

We recently purchased and installed an HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 to be used as a networked all-in-one solution for a number of offices. I have been able to get it set up on our network and have installed the appropriate drivers on the requested Windows 7 x64 machines, and network printing works perfectly. However, it seems that despite the fancy scanning features available from the all-in-one itself (scan to email, scan to a network folder, etc.), I can't find any way to do an old-fashioned scan from Windows.
I have installed the full software solution available on the driver download page for the device, and while Windows lists the device as a "Multi Function Printer; Scanner" it does not recognize it as an actual scanner. The built-in Windows Fax and Scan simply reports that no scanners are installed. The software installation did not include the HP Solution Center (which I am used to seeing from my experience with various other HP all-in-one devices) or any equivalent for direct scanning. The driver download page for the device does not include any separate scanning drivers, so I can't be certain if they were included with the full installation or exist at all. Some of our staff also use Adobe Acrobat to scan, and even that fails to recognize the MFP as a scanner.
We'll eventually be setting up the device to scan directly to a network folder, but we need a fallback while IT takes their time getting it set up; I can't imagine that the simplest option is not available at all. I must be missing something here, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: To add, I also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Interestingly, it reports the device as a printer and only offers to "Fix Printing" without any sort of resolution for my scanning problem.

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • Windows no longer detecting my Audigy 4?(Non-P

Hey all. I've had my Audigy 4 (non-Pro) installed and working super for about 50 days, but it started giving me a weird problem. Windows was no longer detecting the card! It was weird. DX Diag, programs like EVEREST... they all report no sound card whatsoever.
    Here are my PC specs:
    XP Home Edition
    Albatron K8X800 Pro
    S754 3200+ ClawHammer
    x 2 OCZ ELPE 52 MB(2-3-2-5)
    Visiontek XTASY X850XT PE
    x 80 GB SATA 2 Seagate, x 80 GB Maxtor
    Some other things to note:
XP has been repaired. Went from Service Pack , updates, and all the way to Service Pack 2. The card requires XP w/SP2, yes, so I have that covered.
Onboard audio is disabled through the bios. I have AC'97 integrated audio on this.
My motherboard has fi've PCI slots - although I can only access 4 because my video card is in the way, and I have tried three of those and I get the same problem.
I have tried it in other PCs in my house, double-checked each time - so it is not ESD as I originally believed. It works just fine on those PCs. It is being not located only on MY PC.
So guys and gals, I do not know what to do... I am stumped. It's the weekend so I can't call Creative support until Monday. I don't want to request an RMA through my warranty because clearly it's just a problem with my PC. What should I do?!Message Edited by Celsius on -26-2005 07:36 PM

    Device not recognized in iTunes

  • IPod Touch/Phone 4gens No Longer Detected in WINDOWS MY COMPUTER but OK in iTunes

Since I have not found help online regarding the above situation I'm looking for help accordingly.   For most folks it's iTunes not detecting i-Devices, but my situation is unique.
It started last night after I was on the phone for hours with Norton regarding error messages I was getting with Internet Security.  Those issues have been resolved.
Again: iTunes detects and interacts successfully with ALL my iDevices.  Windows Vista > My Computer no longer does.
    Please help.

Just now I performed the following:
Turned off and turned back on AMDS(Apple Mobile Device) Service.
Disabled Norton Internet Security, and tried checking if Windows would see my devices.
For anyone who has Windows Vista you are familiar with the notes that play when you plug in a USB device: "da-dunk!"  Low-High note dadunk indicates connected.   High-low indicates it was disconnected.
I can tell there is a problem because right after the Low-High dadunk in Vista I get a triple Low-note Du-du-dunk.
    Please help!

  • IPod is not recognized by Windows Vista - possible solution

During the past couple of weeks that I faced this problem I found out that a lot of people had the same question as I did.
    Here is a possible solution.
I have HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista. After I connected my new iPod – it didn’t show up in My Computer as a new device and in Device Manager it was listed in “Other devices” with a question mark next to it. I already had iTunes installed – it didn’t show up in iTunes. On the attempt to reinstall the driver I had a message that the driver was found but an error occurred while installing it.
    Here is what I did:
    1. Install iTunes (it has iPod driver for Vista in it).
    2. Turn on iPod and connect it to computer.
    3. Restart computer with iPod turned on and connected to computer.
    4. On the start up the computer will begin automatically installing the driver and the message will appear in the corner that new device is being installed.
    5. After it has been installed – check My Computer – you should see it listed there.
    6. Run iTunes and configure iPod.
iTunes might run a little bit slow when configuring iPod for the first time.
    Good luck.

if only this fix worked for windows xp or even 2000 (at my job)
insane, but it IS a driver/usb problem i now know, at least i've gotten that far.
