RSD - really fast repair!!

My Macbook suffered from the RSD problem. I live in the UK and rang Apple on Thursday. A courier arrived with a box to return it for repair the next day, Friday. The courier also collected it the same day and I received the repaired Macbook today, Tuesday. WOW..!!
Thats good service. They seem to have the problem sorted.
Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.8)
Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I imagine that now the problem has been isolated indefinitely, and that the actual culprit is a far easier part to get in large numbers the turn around should be much better for anyone else that gets RSD.

  • IBook not starting, fan going really fast

    Hi everyone.
Yesterday something happened. Everytime I try to switch on my iBook G4, the power goes on, but the screen remains black and the fan starts to go really fast, like never happened before even when it was too hot. Yesterday I managed to hear the startup chime, and even once I managed to switch in on, but it lasted for around 10 minutes, and the the screen went black again.
Now I can only hear a sound, like a click (not the start up chime) and then the fan going fast, as I said, but nothing else happens.
Sorry for my English and thanx in advance for any help. It's much appreciated.
    Regards.

Did you try booting off of Install disc #1 to see if you have video? If you can, it wouldn't hurt to navigate to Disk Utility and verify both permissions and the disk and repair if necessary. This probably won't solve the problem, but it is good practice to do before and after software updates.
If you can boot off of a CD, you could also try running the Apple Hardware Test and check for hardware problems. Very likely there won't be any that show up, but it will give you some assurance that your hardware has no major problems. The AHT won't find everything, but it does test quite a few things.
If you can boot from a CD, then you could consider doing an Archive and Install, as suggested in the article. It would be best to back up your data in advance if you can. If you have access to another Mac, you might be able to do this using Target Disk Mode. A fresh install of the OS will take care of any corrupted software, especially if it was caused by an update.
If reinstalling the OS does not fix the problem, then it is likely a hardware problem. But given what you have said here, it sounds more likely to be software.
    good luck!

  • IPHONE 5s Battery Draining Really Fast

Hi, I have a Iphone 5s. The phone charges really slow, and dies really fast. I am barely on it now since this happen. I tried restoring at home, and also resetting. I took a trip to Apple two days ago, and they ran the diagnostic. He said the battery is healthy but something is wrong with the firmware or software. After he restored it but it still is doing the SAME thing. Could I fix this issue?

Take it back to the Apple store and tell them that didn't fix the issue. You might have a hardware issue. Before you take it back though do a backup on your computer.

  • IPhone 4 battery drains really fast and phone gets really hot

I have an iPhone 4 and since November 15 my battery has been draining really fast and gets really hot when I use the phone. When I try to charge the phone with my computer it doesn't charge, but only charges with the wall hub. I have tried deleting the email accounts, deleting all apps, restoring with the backup, restoring without the backup, and still no luck. I went to the Apple store and they briefly looked at it and said it had water damage by looking at the water damage indicator in the charging port. They told me I needed to pay $150 for a new phone. I don't recall getting my phone getting wet and it seems to work fine except for the battery drain and the computer charging problem. iTunes still recognizes the phone. I thought it was a battery problem so I ordered a new battery and replaced it myself and the battery was still draining fast. When I had the phone open the other water damage indicators were still white (no water damage), it was just the charging port indicator that was red (water damaged). Also, when I charge my phone with the wall hub it charges very slowly. I have ran out of ideas and I could really use some suggestions. Thank you.

i looked on the right there is no solution to my problem.i charge my phone to 100% after 2 hours with no usage at all of the phone with 3G off with wifi off with all applications shut down all notifications and locations off battery goes down to 50% when it was running on the older ios never had this problem in my iphone.when will this problem solved

Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks.

  • Macbook pro fan making loud noises and going really fast. Now the fan doesn't work at all and my computer gets extremely hot almost instantly. Is there a way to fix it without having to pay a ton of money to have someone fix it for me?

I've had my Macbook pro for about 3 1/2 years now. It has worked great until recently. A few months ago I noticed that the fan would always run really fast when I was doing simple tasks. After a few weeks/months, the fan was still really fast but it also started to make these loud noises. Now, it only occasionally makes the loud noise if I move my computer after its been stationary for a while. The fan no longer works at all and my computer gets exceptionally hot almost instantly when I turn it on. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to pay a ton of money to have someone fix it for me?

You can try a SMC reset:

The way something "feels" is very subjective.  We would need to know your actual temps.  You can install the free iStat Pro widget which is available as a download directly from Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html
Let us know what CPU temps you're seeing at the time you feel your machine is hot.  As you indicated your CPU usage was only 10%, that would imply that you already know that heavy CPU usage would be one cause for your machine to be running on the warm side... but that doesn't seem to be the cause here.

  • BEWARE of using stopwatch or timer in iphone 5 under iOS7. As the mili second digit ticks really fast, in a matter of minutes, it will break your LCD under that mili second area. It happened to my iphone5. Let me know if you have same issue.

You two are obviously talking about the LCD pixels being killed. What exactly does it look like?
How many minutes are you talking about, 2 to 3, 5 to 7 or more?
Where was the brightness control at for the both of you?

  • Times moves really fast EFFECT in Final Cut Pro

I want to know how to do the effect used in Paranormal Activity. Like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_UxLEqd074) at 0:40 seconds. This time moves really fast, implying that time is going by really fast. How do you do this?

At :40 I see the camera pointing downstairs in the living room. I don't see what you are meaning. But typically this effect is done by either shooting timelapse...meaning one frame every few seconds or minutes. If you can't shoot timelapse, simply shoot the same things for a loooooong time, then adjust the speed of the slip by a few hundred or thousand percent.

  • MY NEW MACBOOK AIR IS HEATING UP AND ITS BATTERY IS DRAINING OUT REALLY FAST

MY NEW MACBOOK AIR IS HEATING UP AND ITS BATTERY IS DRAINING OUT REALLY FAST. WHAT TO DO? I BOUGHT IT JUST 5 DAYS AGO.

If you are within the 14 day purchase period you can exchange your MBP for a replacement.  If not you can have it checked out at the Apple store genius bar.
CPU intensive applications will place stress on the CPU/GPU which will create heat and speed up the fans.  That is normal.  If you will, download from the Internet iStat pro and install it.  When your MBP gets hot, post an image such as this from mine:
Also open Activity Monitor and set  to show 'All Processes' and '%CPU' to display values from high to low.  Post that as well like this:
From this information we may be able to tell if there are any issues or not.
    Ciao.

  • SSHD is really fast on MPB 15" 2011?

    Hi everyone,
It's my first post here and I'm not a native speaker, so sorry about my english
Well, after read a lot of post about SSHD drives, I just want to know your opinions about this drives, I mean, about how real fast it is after using for a while, because when you install the OS for first time the drive is not really faster but everybody says the more time you use the disk, more fastest can be.... It's convenient buy one of these drives?
I want to install one of these for my MBP 15" early 2011 (2,0Ghz - 8GB  Ram)
    Thanks in advance!

I have a Seagate 1 TB SSHD in the late 2011 MBP.  Boot and shutoff times have been reduced by well over 50% compared to a HGST  7200 rpm. 1 TB HDD.  It seems to be quicker on often visited web sites and activities.
For the very modest price increase over a conventional HDD, I think it warrants serious consideration.
    Ciao.

that's right. for smooth stop-motion, you need 1 frame per second.
you need tools as QuicktimePro vers7, which allows to convert a folder of pics into a smooth stream of video, or designated stop-motion tools as framebyframe (free) or iStopMotion ($$, therefor much more elaborated&convenient).
