Windows partition utility does not agree with fdisk
The background for this is here. Tl;dr: I created 3 primary partitions (SYSTEM, C:, shared data) and two logical (/boot and /) for a dual boot system, and ran into issues with chainloading from win7 with EasyBCD. To troubleshoot, I simplified the setup to 3 primary partitions, and am now trying to go back... but can't!
Method:
- Delete all volumes/partitions after C:
- Create primary partition of ~100G, NTFS formatted (shared data)
- Create logical partition of 256M, unformatted (/boot)
- Create logical partition with remaining space, unformatted (encrypted /)
I used the built-in win7 partition utility for this, and it looks like it worked: screenshot
My first alert was the fact that Minitool Partition Wizard didn't agree with win7: screenshot
In fact, trying to create logical partitions with Minitool reports that the operation was successful, but as soon as it completes they turn back into unallocated space. I actually tried this first and then went with the win7 utility as I thought something was wrong with Minitool. I'm starting to think it's the other way around and that Minitool sees the correct state and win7 is wrong. That diagnosis comes from the output of fdisk via booting an Arch installation image:
Invalid flag 0x7d9b of EBR (for partition 5) will be corrected by w(rite).
Disk /dev/sda: 238.5 GiB, 256060514304 bytes, 500118192 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x1e6513b3
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 * 2048 2101247 2099200 1G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT

/dev/sda3 172433408 387473407 215040000 102.6G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda4 387473408 500115455 112642048 53.7G f W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/sda5 2961659748 5859253686 2897593939 1.4T 65 Novell Netware 386
No idea whatsoever on the type ID assigned to /dev/sda5, nor why it shows as 1.4T. I've tried various things with no success:
- check/fix errors via win7 drive properties (no errors found)
- delete all non-win7 partitions, grow the partition to the full disk, and then shrink back again
- shrink win7 to ~80G, create a single primary partition, boot Arch install media, format with ext4, `dd if=/dev/zero of=file.txt` until full, then delete file
- change order (2 logicals, then primary)
- format the logicals with NTFS upon creation instead of leaving them unformatted
- assigning drive letters upon creating the partitions vs. no drive letter
I'm hesitant to just do everything from fdisk, as I have McAfee Endpoint Encryption and I'm not sure if writing the partition table from outside of windows can possibly ruin anything related to how the startup decryption works. If someone can assure that dd'ing some number of bytes on /dev/sda would allow me to reverse the process (restore said bytes to the beginning of the drive) in the event of any failures, I'd be willing to give that a shot. I know I've dd'd the encrypted MBR in the past and successfully restored it (after trying to install grub instead of the windows bootloader) just fine and been able to boot again. Not sure if messing with the partition table is any different.
Thanks for any suggestions!Hi Pradhiba and A.H.P,
I got this problem yesterday and I tried all steps mentionned in this message of yours. Just for your information I checked the following points also (maybe it helps you to analyse better the problem):
System Analysis:
1. SE16 T000
2. SE16 RSBASIDOC in both systems
3. SU01 PROFILES
BWREMOTE > To be checked
ALEREMOTE and profile S_BI-WX_RFC see note 150315 > To be checked
4. WE20 Partner Profile LS settings in both are OK
BW outbound RSRQST
inbound RSINFO RSSEND
R/3 outbound RSINFO RSSEND
inbound RSRQST
also check 'RSSEND' in R/3
BIDOCTYP = ZSUB161 > To be checked
5. SM59 .. appears to be ok
6. check inconsistency in tables RSISOSMAP and RSOSFIELDMAP
SE16 BW for table RSISOSMAP
7. SE16 BW for table RSOSFIELDMAP
no 'T' entries
8. in BW > source system
The remote users for calling and sending data must have the type
Dialog or CPIC (see Note 161570).
9. Run the report RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL (activate all BW structures)
10. check entries on the table bdls
Maybe I will re-check all this again today.
In the mean time I will appreciate any other suggestions that you may have about this issue.
Thanks,
PL.

Error while loading source system data
BW unknown in source system
The BW IDoc type ZSBA003 is not the same as the source system IDoc type
The following errors occurred in the source system:
EDI: Partner profile not available
Entry in inbound table not found
Entry in outbound table not found
Entry in outbound table not foundhi Steve,
check with transaction we20, if your bw myself source system exist under 'partner type ls' (ls = logical system).
it should exist with
outbound parameter
message type-RSRQST
inbound parameter
message type-RSINFO RSSEND
check also for r/3 source system

Hi,
My scenario is BI to R/3 where BI will send request to R/3 for datasource in R/3 and R/3 inturn will response to BI.
So i am import IDOC from BI as well as from R/3 , IDOC is RSRQST.RSREQUST same for both.
R/3 response IDOC are RSSEND if data available in R/3 if not RSINFO if no records found.
SIMPLY
SAP BI u2013 PI u2013 SAP R/3? I.e.; Delta generated in R/3 should pop into BI through PI directly without manual push/pull.
1) RSRQST message BI-XI--R/3
2) RSINFO/RSSEND generated in R/3 on receipt of RSRQT.
a. RSINFO message R/3-XI--BI
b. RSSEND message R/3-XI--BI
So I am able to send the request from BI to R/3 if any records found in R/3 RSSEND IDOC should trigger if no records RSINFO IDOC should trigger.
So RSSEND and RSINFO are getting trigger in R/3 and coimg to XI but when i check in sxmb_moni flag is black but outbound status i am getting red clor.
Can anyone please help me out.No the problem is i have no authorization to send the data i checked in SM58 in PI. Basis guys need to assign role in BI system attach profile S_BI-WHM_RFC to the RFC-user in the receiving BW system.
My problem is solved. -
Partner profile,Message type
First time if I am configuring SAP R3 and SAP BW system
I need to create Partner profile and Port definition ,message type RSINFO,RSSEND,RSRQST.
Creating SAP R/3 source system in BW-I need to use RFC user or my user id is fine.
Any one help me out which message type goes to where or related any documents.

Thank you very much!Hi Holger.
this issue is related to the RFC but not the one which is communicating from BI to R/3 rather the one which is communicating from R/3 to BI follow these steps.
1. check your BI system logical name from the myself source system.
2. go the ECC and run the transaction sm59
3. go the ABAP Connection folder and search for your RFC which name would be by default as per your BI logical system name.
4. double click it and edit it now check whether the Target hostname or ip is OK.
5. In the logon tab check the client number User and password settings.
Save it and test it with both Connection Test and Remote Logon.
if every thing work fine i hope your problem will be solved.

I want to transfer data from <b>sap r3 to sap bw</b> through idocs.Although i dont have sufficient knowledge on sap bw.
However i hv done all ale configuraiton on r/3 side .
I am using message type of <b>RSINFO,RSSEND and BAPI of UserComapny.Clone.</b>
Now i just want to know <b>what are the transaction for those message types for changing/creating</b>??(like for matmas transaction are mmo1/mmo3)
Thanx in advance...hi Subray/Bhanu,
With WE05, find some records with yellow status. How to find some missing data here?
With BD87, under BW system folder, there are two folders:
1. IDocs in outbound processing
2. IDoc in inbound processing
Under 1st folder, there is one yellow status folder called "IDoc ready for dispatch (ALE service)", continue to expand another folder called CREMAS under it, there is a blue information line which is "Receiver found , Data filtered , No conversion , No version change".
Under 2nd folder, there is one yellow status folder called "IDoc ready to be transferred to application", continue to expand other two folder under it called "BBPIV" and "RSRQST", find there is a red flash status line which is "No resources, immed. processing not possible: Too few free dialog work" under these two folders.
I need to go ahead to select these two red flash status lines and then press the Process button at the top bar?
Thanks

BI Dev client inactive & DSO activation problem
Hi SAP Experts,
Am facing some problems in DSO activation. Firstly the Business content DSO was not activating .So I had to activate the Datasources on the R/3. There were no errors in the job log but the DSO was still inactive. On trying to manually activate it , its stated that the BI Dev client was inactive. So I went to the Source Sytems tab, activated the BI client but it failed showing the following error messages:
1.EDI:Partner profile not available-> A partner profile could not be found with the following key:/IBDCLNT010/LS/
This involves the key fields of the table EDPP1: PARNUM.PARTYP
2.Entry in outbound table not found-> A partner profile could not be found with the following key:/IBDCLNT010/LS/RSRQST///
This involves the key fields of the table EDP13:RCVPRN,RCVPRN,RCVPFC
3.Entry in inbound table not found........LS/RSINFO :
4.Similar to error 3 :...../LS/RSSEND
5.Destination IBDCLNT010 has incorrect Unicode settings, adjust it to destination:
The unicode settings do not match the source systems.Conversion errors might occur during data transfer.Adjust the destination accordingly.
Has anybody seen this error log before. If so please do let me know your valuable suggestions.
Thanks for taking the time to read this technical concern
Edited by: Prathibha Pillai on Jul 29, 2008 7:58 AMHi,
As of 1-4 error messages.
You must define in partner profiles (ts WE20) the message type RSRQST as outbound on BI side and inbound on R/3 side, the message types RSINFO, RSSEND as inbound on BI side and outbound on R/3 side.

HolgerHi!
Many thanks for your response.
The tcode WE05 on source system showing the following:
Inbox IDoc's: RSQRST (amount: 1)
Outbound IDoc's: RSINFO (amount: 4)
When I go to SAP BW System (tcode WE05) i cannot detect any Inbound IDOC's of message type RSINFO.
What is wrong in my configuration?
Thank you very much! -
We are seeing a weird error with a source system we are trying to re-create after a refresh. Our basis folks have tried many things, and they finally deleted the source system and are trying to re-create it again. They error they cannot get past is in automatic source system set up process when the EDI profiles are generated.
We are seeing the following series of errors:
Error during insert in port table - E0552
EDI Partner Profile not available - E0332
Entry in outbound table not found - E0400
Entry in inbound table not found - E0414
Entry in inbound table not found - E0414
Port Description contains errors. Incorrect destination - RSAR 669
We debuged some last night, and we were seeing that in the function module RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_CREATE_NEW, it was returning a 'no_free_namespace' error.
I check SDN and OSS, but there was not any notes for the error above.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks in advance!
BillHi Bill,
I experienced a lot of system setting phase project in the past...I think you missed your Partner profiles (WE20)...take a look to this transaction, here you should find under Partner type LS the logical name of your BW (if missed you have to recreate it !)...here you have to insert as outbound parameter 'RSRQST' as message type and 'RSINFO', 'RSSEND' as inbound parameters, BIW as partner class, status 'A'...
Let me know something...
Bye,

Dear all,
At the time of transaction Goods Receipt(MIGO), I am getting the error message "Could not determine recipients for message type ACPJMM".
System Diagnosis is as below
An IDoc of message type ACPJMM was passed to the ALE layer, but the three receiver fields in the header record were not filled. In this case the ALE layer tries to determine the receivers from the entries in the distribution model. There are no entries available in the distribution model for the above message type
I have check the ALE Settings in we20 and we21
and have assigned the following message types under Logical syste Partner Type
Outbound
ACPJMM
MATMAS

RSINFO
RSSEND
WHSORD
Inbound
ACPJMM
DEBMAS
FTDABA
FTDACO
FTDACU
INSPECTIONPLAN_CREATE

I have also created and Assigned a Logical System to the client and have also created a RFC with the same name
I have checked all settings is SALE and they are Fine.
This is a single system

Process Chain - confirmation code
Dear Experts,
Based on a generic extractor, we load data in a delta mode from the datasource to the corresponding infocube via RSPC.
Unfortunately, when running the process chain in batch mode, the first stage consisting in data load to the PSA fails.
Actually, within the monitor, it appears there is no confirmation code releasing the process and after a certain time, it stops in error. When setting it to green before time out, the process chain goes till the end. Could you pelase let me know how to automatically return a confirmation when the PSA load has been correctly done.
Kind Regards,
LudovicHi,
Your query is not clear. Are you telling that even though the dataload to PSA is happening, it shows that the dataload is still active?
If thats the case, it appears that IDOCs are not properly flowing between the 2 systems.
Check in WE02 in source system to see if any RSRQST/ RSINFO/ RSSEND idoc is in yellow status. If it is, take it to BD87 and process it. If the idoc was RSRQST type, it would start dataloading after execution in BD87. If it was of other types, it would send the details back to BW/ BI system about the confirmation of dataloads.
If your query is about anything else, please give more details. -
Dear Friends
Can anyone fwd me installation guide or step by step Installation of BW 3.1/ 3.5 ?

Thanks well in advance
grameshHi,
Following these steps for BW connectivity.
Steps :
1. Create logical system on both sides .
2. Assign logical system to each clients.
3. Create RFC destination on both sides.
4. Create port definition on both side and assign RFC Destination of target system.
5. Create partner profile with inbound , outbound parameters
BW Side R3 SIDE
Outbound Outbound
RSRQST RSINFO , RSSEND (Basic type is same )
Inbound Inbound
RSINFO (RSIN) , RSSEND (RSDR) RSRQST (RSRQ)
(RSIN ) Indicates process code to be given for RSINFO .
6. In BW side give RSA1 , Select source system , Right click , Create R/3 source
System , give login details . It will be created .
7. Check RSBASIDOC table for your entries .
8. Right click your R3 source system , Replicate .

Question on RSSEND message type - based idoc sent from R3 to BW
Hi
I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this question, but my question is related to data exchange between R3 and BW and hence thought would ask the question here.
When data is extracted by BW - from R3, based on RSREQUST idoc , RSINFO is being passed based from R3 showing records passed back from R3, but I don't see RSSEND message type based idocs being sent back from R3.
I would like to see the RSSEND message type based idocs being sent back so that I can open and browse the contents of these idocs to cross the data here with the target system - i.e BW.
I have double checked outbound parameters in partner profiles in R3 - for RSSEND, it contains the right Z* idoc type , however I cannot see any RSSEND idoc being generated in R3 even though data is sent from R3 to BW.
Any idea what I am missing here ?I dont think I understand what you are looking for , but in case you want to look for the IDOC in ECC and BI, follow these
steps.
In RSMO tranx --> menu -
> environment ---> ALE management ---> 1 . Datawarehouse & 2. Source System.
Thanks,
Ravi.
